Before we start today, I would like to ask for prayers for all of the people in Houston and the surrounding areas. I have many friends that live in Houston, and all of them have been affected by Hurricane Harvey at varying levels. One of my sister’s best friends had to evacuate her family (her husband and 3 boys under 7) by canoe. Other friends haven’t lost their homes yet (and we are praying that they won’t), but the rain continues to come down. The area has been hit so hard, and the results are devastating to so many. Let’s all rally together to help. If you text HARVEY to 90999, $10 will be donated to the American Red Cross for disaster relief. You can give as many times as you feel led too, but every little bit helps!
Also, after I posted this on facebook last night, some readers that have been through disasters like this gave some other ideas for ways to help. One reader commented that Samaritan’s Purse is still in her area helping nearly 13 months after their flood. Another suggested the Salvation Army after witnessing how they responded and suggested local churches as a great way to help. I’ve also heard from several that MONEY is what they need. Don’t collect food, clothes, etc. “Stuff” is hard to collect, organize, and distribute. Give money, and the people in the trenches, the people that are trained to respond, they can spend the money appropriately to fulfill all of the needs. Our LOVE and PRAYERS to you Houston!!!

If you missed The Case For Grey Jeans: Part 1, you need to make sure you check it out. Today is Part 2 with Nordstrom, and I’m continuing to make the case for grey jeans! I’m telling you, y’all will all try grey jeans if it’s the last flipping thing I do. #justkidding #kindof 😉
We talked in Part 1 about how grey jeans just tend to kick up the interest level and cute factor of an outfit. They look great casually when worn with sneakers (like these “sea salt” New Balance or these “faded rose” New Balance) or Shoreline Converse, but they also dress up nicely with cognac, black, and taupe boots and booties.
The grey jeans I’m wearing in all 4 looks are ones I bought last year, that I wore the heck out of, and that I still love. I featured an Articles of Society pair on Part 1, but they are now sold out….so I thought I would feature a different pair today! The dark grey jeans below are ONLY $42 and have great reviews! If you are between sizes, I would suggest sizing down because the reviews say they are very stretchy. I really like the interest in the hem with the color and the fray.
Mine from last year are Caslon, and I’m loving this year’s version from Caslon as well!
And I found this great plus size version as well. Only $49!!!
So let’s take a short walk down memory lane….Here are looks #1 and #2 from last week’s post. You’ll notice that in all 4 looks I’m wearing these heeled booties and this awesome new necklace. Both great items for fall. Also, if you compare outfit #1 with #2, you can see how the adjustable necklace can be worn at varying lengths!
Now, for today’s new outfits!
Look #3: Simple Tunic with Great Earrings
Okay. So if you’ve been around for awhile, you already know I have this exact tunic in olive, wine, black, and hot pink. And now I have it in this gorgeous lavender color as well.
For size reference, I’m wearing a small in the tunic. It is oversized, but I definitely like this tunic baggy (and not clingy at all). If you don’t have a large chest, you can probably size down.
I always get a lot of questions about this blouse concerning sheerness, care, and length. The white/cream is pretty sheer, and I would definitely wear a cami with it. The other colors I’ve tried aren’t sheer enough to require a cami, but depending on where the neckline hits you, you might be more comfortable with a cami to cover cleavage. 😉 Sometimes I wear a cami with these tops, sometimes I don’t. It’s just personal preference.
Concerning care, I do not always dry clean this blouse (although I sometimes do). In fact, I started out by dry cleaning it all the time, but lots of readers convinced me that I didn’t need to. So, on the advice of readers, I started washing it (just in the washing machine with a regular load), and then tossing it in the dryer for 5-10 minutes, and finishing it up by either hanging it or laying it flat to dry. It comes out great like this.
And concerning length….it’s a bit longer in the back than it is in the front…AND YES, it’s definitely long enough to wear with leggings (and it appropriately covers your crotchal area). BOOM. I have it tucked in in the front here, so that’s why it looks so short up front in these next pics. I think this lavender color is so pretty with the grey.

My beaded earrings really pulled this outfit together. My photos don’t do them justice, so make sure you click through to check them out! My ears are really sensitive to heavy earrings (they give me a headache), but I am able to wear these all day with no problem!

Look #4: Blush and Grey (with Stripes)!
This next look highlights one of my favorite color combos: blush and grey. And when I put the stripes with it, I thought it was a perfect casual look. This same look would be just as cute with shoreline converse for an even more casual vibe.
For size reference, I sized up to a medium in the tee for a slouchy (but not sloppy) look. I’m wearing a medium in the cardigan as well.

All right, so I’ve now recreated all 4 flat lay looks, but I’ve got a couple of more grey jean outfit ideas for you!
Please disregard my face in this next picture, just pay attention to the crazy soft peplum hem sweatshirt I’m wearing. It’s the same cut and design of the ruffle hem handkerchief blouse we fell in love with back in like April….but now it’s in sweatshirt form. #asitshouldbe

The top comes in several different colors, just click on the color(s) you are interested in.
And from the same maker, how cute is this french terry sweatshirt! And look how great it looks with grey jeans! It comes in 3 solids as well. I think they look super cozy, and I love the hem and the little side slits.

Here’s another grey jeans outfit from last month. Again, these are my dark grey Wit and Wisdom jeans.
I’m wearing a 4 Regular in these jeans, which is true to size for me, but some say they are sizing down. These have the ab-solution technology, which sucks you in without having to sacrifice breathing. Which is good, because I like to breathe. ???? In the pics below, the grey looks darker than it actually is, and I have the jeans cuffed up just once (the width of the tiny hem). I just wanted to be able to show a little bit of ankle with the booties.

ONE MORE GREY JEANS OUTFIT TODAY. I paired them here with this striped oversized tee that you ladies went crazy for over the weekend. It’s going in and out of stock in the color (2 other colorways are now available), but my fingers are crossed for a large restock! The small was really big on me, so the x-small is on it’s way to me.

And this is neither here nor there….but I found a pair of boots online this weekend that I have to show y’all. If you’ve been reading this blog since the beginning, you might remember the cognac leather Miz Mooz wedge boots I fell in love with 3-4 years ago. I still wear them ALL THE TIME, I just don’t post them, because if I do, I get sooooooooooooo many “Where can I get my hands on those boots?” messages, and they’ve been sold out for years. The last several years I’ve been on the lookout for wedge boots (nothing beats the comfort), and I’m thinking that these might be IT! I ordered them yesterday, so I will hopefully be able to report back to you on Friday Favorites. Click HERE.
That’s it for today! Thank you to Nordstrom for sponsoring this post!

Thank you so much for your shout out to Houston Sheaffer. We were evacuated by boat yesterday. My home had about 3 feet of water downstairs when we left. I have lived here all my life, I’m 53, and have been through many floods here but nothing like this. Thank God my children are grown and we are not having to deal with this with children like so many families. I can’t even begin to tell you the devastation here. Believe everything you see and hear on the news.
We are fortunate, we have many friends that have opened their homes and hearts to us and we will survive. The outpouring from community and complete strangers has touched me beyond words. I am so grateful and thank God keeping us safe. We are in a Panera now trying to take care of business/insurance and just escape the constant news of weather for a bit…and man, does a good cup of hot coffee taste good after 2 days! See, sometimes it’s just the little things…
Thanks to all for the kind thoughts and prayers for my fellow Houstonians.
