This post is sponsored by Nordstrom and ShopStyle. The product selections are my own, and I only highlight and promote pieces that I truly love. Thank you for supporting the brands that support Sheaffer Told Me To!
Before we get started, I have a couple of very important things to talk about.
FIRST, MAKE SURE YOU COME TO THE BLOG TOMORROW!
I know I don’t normally post on Thursday, but tomorrow is going to be one of the best posts of the year! I will be highlighting all of MY VERY FAVORITE ITEMS from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and will have outfits styled from head to toe. I shopped like crazy yesterday (8 hours, y’all!), and I am so incredibly excited about the items that I found. They are pieces that I know will serve us all well, and the prices are truly fantastic!
I have several pairs of jeans that I’m loving, some fabulous sweaters and cardis, a pair of nice work pants that are super flattering and feel like pajamas (I’m totally obsessed), and the shoes are SOOOOO GOOD! Oh, so are the beauty selections! And I’ll of course be highlighting and linking the MUST HAVES from years past like the blardigans, the Bliss undies, my favorite Natori bra, and the best blanket in the whole world (that makes an excellent gift)! There are special Anniversary Sale links for tomorrow, but they are linked today too in case you want to see what I’m talking about.
SECOND, MAKE SURE YOU ENTER THE GIVEAWAY TODAY!
All you have to do is a leave a comment today telling me what main items you are shopping for. That’s it! The winner will be chosen by a random number generator and will receive a $250 Nordstrom gift card to shop the sale. I will announce the winner on tomorrow’s post, and I will send the gift card via e-mail so you can have the money to shop the sale immediately!
Okay, let’s get started on today’s post!
About a month ago I highlighted some house brands from Nordstrom and wrote a love letter of sorts. Click HERE to see that post. Their incredible customer service, free shipping and returns, and tons of amazing brands to choose from are just 3 of the reasons that I most often find myself shopping at Nordstrom. And in addition to carrying tons of amazing brands that we all know and love (like Free People, J Crew, Madewell, and Sam Edelman to name a few), Nordstrom also has a great variety of house brands.
The Nordstrom house brands offer great style for an incredible value, and some of my very favorite items in my closet are from a house brand! You’re going to see some awesome house brand pieces today, and if you don’t already love the house brands, I hope you will by the end of this post.
Outfit #1 has 4 items that are from a Nordstrom house brand including the jeans, the blouse, the earrings, and the bracelets! #goNordstrom
I know we are still in the throws of summer over here, but when I spotted these jeans, I instantly wanted to build an outfit around them. I’ve been on the lookout for a great pair of flare jeans (especially for you taller ladies) for awhile now, and these babies had PERFECT reviews. When I found this shirt, I knew it would be great with the jeans, and I was excited about styling the whole outfit.
We’ll start with the blouse. I love the pink and wine combo, and I knew immediately it would be great for now (it would look great with white jeans too!) and all the way into Fall. I also love the navy abstract floral option. It can easily be dressed down with jeans, but it’s definitely nice enough to wear with a great pair of slacks or a pencil skirt for the office.
(SIDENOTE: Speaking of office pants, I cannot wait to show you the pair THAT I AM OBSESSED WITH. I’m excited to have them in my closet for church and other events, but you ladies that work in an office should probably grab them in the black and both plaids. THEY ARE AWESOME, so look for those tomorrow!)
Back to the blouse…
It’s lightweight, has a banded collar in front, the sleeves are a perfect length, and it has pretty little pleats across the back. I’m wearing a small.
Let’s talk about these FANTASTIC jeans. If you’re a regular reader, you know I absolutely love the Wit and Wisdom Itty Bitty Bootcut Jeans. However, they aren’t great for most people over 5’4″, so I’ve always had a lot of requests from my taller readers to find a great pair of boot cut jeans for them.
WELL. THE SEARCH IS OVER.
These flare jeans are awesome. And the price point is awesome too. And they are a house brand!
They’ve got a bit of a retro vibe without being over the top, which I think is a lot of fun. I love the higher waist and the interesting pockets, and I find them incredibly flattering. I’m wearing seriously tall wedges with these (4 inches), and they are still a tiny bit long for me. But my goodness, they certainly do lengthen my legs. I feel tall and skinny in these. #enoughsaid
The fabric is soft, stretchy, and a great weight (not too thick, not too thin).
I’m wearing my regular 27s.
Look how much style this bandana adds to a simple cognac tote!!!
The tote is reversible (cognac or black), just under $50, and it holds my 15″ laptop. The bag is great for travel, but it also makes a wonderful and super affordable work bag, or just an everyday bag.
How cute are these resin leopard earrings? They are BP, another house brand!
The BP brand is actually the Nordstrom house brand for their junior customers, but don’t let that scare you. I own and wear a lot of BP pieces. What’s great about the BP brand is that most of their items are incredibly affordable and always right on trend. Today’s post highlights several BP gems, so I will make sure and point those out to you along the way.
This multicolor bracelet set is another great BP find that is very affordable. There’s 6 total bracelets in this set, 3 gold bangles and 3 multi-color beaded bangles! SO MUCH FUN!

Next up I have a blouse that will work in Spring, Summer, and Fall! And the blouse, the earrings, and the bracelets are all from Nordstrom house brands.
split neck peasant blouse (plus size blouse) / sunglasses / earrings / tassel necklace / frayed hem white shorts / reversible cognac tote / bandana / Michele watch ON SALE / bracelet set/ cognac sandals
The floral pattern on this peasant blouse is so pretty. This color keeps going in and out of stock, although 2 other colors are available. The short sleeve version of this blouse (in this exact pattern) is still available HERE. I’m wearing a small.
The necklace is made up of beautiful colors, including the mustard tassel, and it will make the plainest of outfits absolutely darling. I’ve been wearing the heck out of this necklace for the last couple of weeks, and it looks great with solid color tees.
These white denim shorts are a great thickness, not see thru, and perfectly stretchy and comfy. I’m wearing my regular size 4s.
The earrings are from the Something Navy collection (another house brand)!
Another amazing BP find? This gorgeous bracelet set. 3 gold bracelets, 1 white bracelet, and 1 pink bracelet come together with a slender bamboo design to create this lovely set that looks much more expensive than it is. And it goes perfectly with my new Michele watch! That’s right y’all, I finally caved and bought a Michele watch. Now this particular one is obviously one of their more affordable options, and when it went on sale, I was powerless against it.
Other BP pieces that have recently caught my eye include the following: these cork sling back sandals, this strapless maxi with great reviews (that comes in several colors and plus sizes), and these studded sandals.

The shoes are the only house brand featured item in this last outfit, but dang they’re cute! More on the sandals in a minute.
Check out this DARLING blouse!
I love the creamy white and red/coral stripe, the split neck, and the billowy sleeves. I do recommend sizing down at least 1 size. I’m in an x-small here and actually think I could wear the xx-small. Both the bodice and the sleeves are cut very generously. You can click HERE to see me wearing it dressed up a bit with jeans and a coral clutch.
And you know these are my favorite denim shorts, going on 2 years strong now. They have some stretch, but are still true to size (I wear 27s). Now, I’ve mentioned this several times before, but I am a bit careful when I dry these. I wash them like normal, but then I pop them in the dryer for just like 5 minutes and then either hang them or lay them flat to dry. When I do that I make sure I tug on the cuffs a bit to make sure they are as straight as possible. And every several washes, I trim some frays. This little bit of care helps them stay nice!
These colorful sandals are super cute and the final BP find of the day! They are wrapped with multicolor and metallic thread and will add a lot of fun to all sorts of summer outfits. I’m wearing my regular size here, but you can see how my heel is reaching all the way back to the end of the shoes. I recommend sizing up a 1/2 size.
