Happy Wednesday, Everybody! It’s time for us to join together out in internet land and let everybody know WHAT’S UP with us this fine Wednesday! Shay is still trying to get her life together after her AMAZING trip (she’s been flitting around Greece and Italy for the last 2 weeks!), but she’ll be back to blogging on Thursday. Be sure to check in with her tomorrow and get excited to read her trip recaps!
Let’s dive right in, shall we?
*WHAT WE ARE EATING*
For dinners we’ve just been eating all the regular stuff over here, but I wanted to share 2 special things with y’all that blew my mind.
First, a couple of weekends ago we headed over to our neighbor’s house for some dinner and pool time. My friend Keely hosted and knocked it out of the park with this beautiful charcuterie board.
Pay special attention to the cheese log on the silver platter. That’s goat cheese rolled in dried blueberries (from Trader Joe’s), surrounded by candied pecans. On the left you will see how she layered the fig crisp crackers (OMG!) with the goat cheese and the pecans. It was quite possibly THE BEST BITE I’ve ever eaten. Also included on the board: pimento cheese, jalapeno crisps, salami with herbs, wheat crackers, and cheese straws. Everything was DELISH.
I must have walked by the board a minimum of 20 times to casually grab just one more bite. #conservativeestimate
The other “special” items I just started eating are these frozen roasted potato slices. When I saw these at the grocery store, they practically flew into my cart. I mean, just look at the gorgeous creations on the package! I couldn’t wait to get home and try them.
I’ve got several things to say about them, so let’s start out with what I didn’t like.
Maybe this is expecting too much, but I was really sad that they weren’t all big uniform pieces like they appear on the bag! I wanted big sweet potato slices that I could build pretty lunches on. Instead, they are all different sizes and shapes. Some are long and skinny, some are fat and wide, and some are small enough that you can’t put much of anything on them.
So, that’s the bad.
But here’s the good. THEY ARE DELICIOUS. And I absolutely love avocado toast, and these are a great bread alternative for that. I truly don’t even miss the bread. On the right you are seeing my lunch earlier this week. One slice was plain, one was stacked with freshly mashed avocado and a fried egg, and one had avocado and red pepper flakes. They were all very yummy, so I do recommend them, although I really wish they were bigger!
I do have one tip. I cook them much longer than the package says. I believe the package recommends to cook them for like 12 minutes at 350. I did that, but then I took them off the cookie sheet, placed them on the rack, and cranked the oven up to 425 and let them go for another 8-10 minutes.

*WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT*
We’ve had the pups for almost 2 years now, and we’ve been looking at their puppy pictures and reminiscing like crazy over here. We got them July 3rd of 2017. I can’t believe they’ve already been a part of our family for 2 years!
Here they are riding home with us the first day. We were already so in love, but we had no idea what joy they would bring us. Man, those first several months were ROUGH, but my goodness it was worth it. Click HERE if you want to read the post where I announced how it came to be that we were getting 2 (since that wasn’t always the plan). On that post there’s tons of puppy pics, and there’s also a link to a video showing the moment we told Carter we were getting 2! I cry every single time I watch it.

*WHAT I’M LOVING*
I am LOVING the fact that it looks like I only have between 1-2 weeks left of my Invisalign trays! I’ll be sure to show Before and After pics once it’s all said and done.
***********************************************************
*WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO*
Lots of pool time with friends.
Lots of snuggling with the pups.
We also had some fun play dates, although I’m told to not call them that anymore. Now he “hangs with friends”. Haha! Carter and his friend Ben had soccer camp together last week. After practice one day, Ben came over and we drove to Buc-ee’s to grab lunch. And we OF COURSE has grab a pic with the beaver. #itsarule
Gosh I love this soccer playing kid of mine. He’s been working so hard, and we are so proud of him!

*WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND*
Something fun! I’ll do a recap sometime next week!

*WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT*
A friend (thank you, Amy!) sent me a really cool article about some of the highest rated Amazon products that are currently available. I went through the whole list and then fell down a rabbit hole of other similar lists. Here are some things that I ADDED TO CART immediately, but I’m definitely going back to those lists to do some more “research”.
- this exfoliating body scrub (I got the cooling cucumber!)
- this sugar lip scrub
- this avocado sheet mask
Also, my make up organizer made one of the lists, and so did a magnifying make up mirror very similar to mine. And of course the reader favorite sheets I recently talked about made a couple of the lists!
The friend that told me about the article happens to be somebody y’all “know”. She’s Amy, one of the co-owners of one of my favorite retailers, Accessory Concierge! We talked last week and she asked if I would be interested in highlighting an exclusive deal for STMT readers.
UM, ALWAYS.
Y’all. Click HERE to get to a page where everything on it is 60% OFF with the code CRAZYGOODDEAL. That’s right. I said SIXTY PERCENT OFF. Resin accessories are so hot right now, and the page has an awesome variety of pieces! Very Important: You enter the code AFTER you hit “check out” button, and you won’t believe the savings!!!
Here are some favorites, all 60% OFF. Just click on what you are interested in. You need to click over, if only to see how much THE GLITTER STUDS ARE. It’s not just a crazy good deal, it’s a stupid good deal.

*WHAT I’M WATCHING*
Even though I’m not recapping this season (so sorry!), I am watching The Bachelorette. AND OMG, Y’ALL. I’d write some things here, but there’s just too much. And I can’t collect my thoughts. BECAUSE IT’S TOO MUCH. #IMEAN #nakedbungeejumping??? #isthisshowforreal???
I will say this, I’m not nearly as annoyed with Alabama Hannah as I thought I was going to be. I mean, I am annoyed….but it’s not the epic levels that I was honestly expecting. Marginally annoyed feels like a win to me.

*WHAT I’M LISTENING TO*
Charlie snoring next to me. The boy sleeps HARD.

*WHAT I’M WORKING ON*
I have lots of great content coming up that I’m SUPER excited about! NO SPOILERS, but know that I’m behind the scenes working very hard to create awesome content!

*WHAT I’M WEARING*
Today I’m working with a brand that I’ve featured many times before, but I want to call it out specifically today! Many of y’all already know and love the brand too! It’s Lou and Grey!
If you aren’t familiar with Lou and Grey, here’s what you need to know…
The brand made a name for itself with clothes that are SO. CRAZY. SOFT.
They understand comfy, and my goodness do I appreciate that. It all starts with their custom knits and fabrics that people want to live in, and they are most famous for their Signaturesoft pieces. If you don’t know about their Signaturesoft line, think the most luxurious cashmere combined with your favorite sweatshirt. SERIOUSLY. THEY’RE THAT GOOD.
But here’s the deal…their clothing isn’t just comfy, it’s also effortlessly chic. Which is a stellar combination if you ask me. I’m going to highlight some current favorites today, but you can click HERE to shop all Lou and Grey pieces at Nordstrom.
Signaturesoft split neck tee / joggers / sunglasses / earrings/ reversible cognac tote / bandana (tied around bag strap) / sneakers
First up, this top is one of their famous Signaturesoft pieces. AND IT’S YUMMY.
It comes in 4 colors, but I went for the black. I seriously cannot convey to you how soft this top is. I love the split neck, the relaxed fit, and the longer sleeve length. I’m wearing a small and it’s a very relaxed fit. If between sizes, definitely size down.
I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS TOP ENOUGH.
Pair the above top with these joggers, and you’ve got yourself a perfect travel outfit. And/or perfect running around town outfit. And/or a perfect napping outfit. #jk #notreally
These are the softest and most comfortable joggers I think I’ve ever owned. And I’ve owned and loved a lot of joggers/sweat pants. In fact, I should probably be considered an expert on jogger comfort. And not only are they extremely comfortable, they are also insanely flattering.
Whether flying or driving, you will be so comfy, and you will still look totally put together. I would also recommend throwing on a jean jacket (my favorite HERE) for an extra layer when traveling.
And do you y’all remember these sneakers? I still love and adore them. The site recommends to size down a 1/2 in the sneakers, but I’m in my regular 6 1/2s.
But seriously, who wants to go on a road trip? I’ll bring the Funyuns, you bring the Cheez-Its.
Signaturesoft split neck tee / joggers / sunglasses / earrings/ reversible cognac tote / bandana / sneakers
Here’s another set. It’s not as soft as the above set (you can’t top the last outfit’s cozy factor) but it’s still crazy comfy and super cute!
terry sweatshirt / terry joggers/ sunglasses / earrings/ reversible cognac tote / bandana / Birk dupe option
The sweatshirt is described on site as “fitted”, which is what prompted me to size up to a medium. The medium was a perfectly relaxed fit on me and fit just the way I would like a top like this to fit. (The website recommends sizing down, but I do not agree.)
Just like the top, the terry joggers are a nice soft blue. And once again, Lou and Grey knocks it out of the park with the cute factor AND the comfy factor. #wellplayed
I’m wearing a medium in the top and a small in the joggers.
Seriously, ladies. Where are we going? And who is driving? #notit
And they don’t have just lounge wear, they also have great everyday basics, many of which are a bit special.
striped blouse / sunglasses / pearl hoop earrings c.o. Kendra Scott / pearl cuff bracelets c.o. Kendra Scott / jeans c.o. Wit and Wisdom / clutch / must have wedges ON SALE
Speaking of special…Check out this DARLING blouse!
I love the creamy white and red/coral stripe, the split neck, and the billowy sleeves. I do recommend sizing down at least 1 size. I’m in an x-small here and actually think I could wear the xx-small. Both the bodice and the sleeves are cut very generously.
How fun are the super wide “cuffs” on these jeans?

And check out these GORGEOUS earrings. They are simple and classic, while still managing to be totally on trend.

And I’m absolutely smitten with this bracelet set.

I love this entire outfit. From the sunglasses, all the way down to the MUST HAVE WEDGES ON SALE. If you don’t already have them, get them. GET THEM NOW. #please #ibegofyou They are a total steal right now at just under $50.
Thank you to Lou and Grey for sponsoring this portion of the post!

Hey Sheaffer I don’t want this to show up on your comments but the link party says it’s not opening for 11 hours. Is that correct? 🙂

Eeeekkkk!!! I’m super pumped about all that new content headed our way! I too am a big fan of Alabama Hannah-who knew? And I LOVE that we’re still calling them “pups”! Do we ever switch it to toddlers? OR dogs? 😉
Sheaffer says
True story……I first wrote “we have been looking at their baby pictures”. I didn’t switch baby pictures to puppy pictures until this morning! Hahahaha!

The Accessory Concierge deal is awesome! I always appreciate when you highlight their beautiful items! I have a few Lou & Grey pieces and they are really comfy. 🙂
I LOVE a good charcuterie board–nothing better with a glass of great wine or a cocktail! Two years have flown by–those pups are so cute! Those Sweet Potato Toasts look pretty awesome. I’m going to have to try them as I’m trying my best to cut down on the bread I eat too. Which grocery store did you find them? I realize you’re in TX and I’m in TN, but maybe it’s a nationwide store? Keeping my fingers crossed. 😉
Sheaffer says
I grabbed them at Market Street, Kathy! xoxo

I remember when my boys hit that age where it was no longer cool to call their get togethers play dates. Love that shot with all the pool floats; now that says “summer fun!”
Sara says
Hi Sheaffer! Love this post! Also, just FYI, that signaturesoft split neck Lou & Grey top you featured is 40% off if you order it directly from Lou & Grey and they also have more sizes available than Nordstrom. Just thought I would let you know so your readers can save some $. Thanks!
