Do y’all remember last Wednesday’s post? I planned 5 different outfits with items from a handful of different retailers just for fun. WELL. I thought the outfits were so cute that I ended up ordering some of the items for myself so I could recreate the looks.
Today I’ll be showing you 4 different outfits, 3 inspired by the collages from last Wednesdays post, and 1 inspired by a flat lay from last Monday’s post.
OUTFIT #1
As soon as I saw the must have leggings in pink, you know I scooped them up immediately.
white long sleeve tee / pink must have leggings/ turquoise earrings / layered necklace / sneakers (white/ash pearl/white) / gym bag (grey floral)
When I put the above outfit together, I already owned the Kendra Scott pieces, and I already had several pairs of neutral sneakers to choose from. Because of this, all I had to grab for the look were the leggings and the tee. The gym bag is darling, but I didn’t need it.
I grabbed the white long sleeve tee in a medium to make sure it was going to be long enough for leggings. Well, it was too long. It’s really oversized, so I would recommend sizing down at least 1 size. It’s thin, but I do really like it, and I’ll be exchanging the medium for a small. It’s got thumb holes which is a nice detail, and I like that it’s lightweight.

I LOVE THE LEGGINGS. I mean, of course I do. They’re a MUST HAVE after all. They are sooooooooooooooo soft (the softest leggings I own), so comfy, and so flattering. They have a high waist band, they have banded cuffs on the bottom, AND THEY HAVE POCKETS. They fit like leggings, but they have the styling of a jogger. They don’t have as much compression as other Zella leggings, but I like that these are just crazy comfy. To be honest, I’m obsessed. I’m wearing a small.
The sneakers are my slip on sneakers from Amazon that I’ve collected in 3 colors over 2 years. These are the “light grey” but they come in TONS of colors. Depending on the color and size you choose, the price ranges from $20-$40. They are 1000% worth the $40 and true to size for me.

These turquoise earrings are a new favorite for me. They are teeny tiny, and although there’s just 1 post, there’s 2 little studs. They are so fun to wear, a little bit edgy, and I’ve received so many compliments on them. The layered necklace is great too.

I like this outfit a lot.

OUTFIT #2
I think this outfit is just so classic. As I told you last week, I ordered the blouse and the white jeans for myself, and I already owned the earrings, the necklace, the sunglasses, and the bag.
olive smocked blouse / sunglasses (tort/brown) / beaded hoop earrings / heart layered necklace / white jeans / cognac bag / bandana / dark bourbon leather sandals
When I was putting together the outfits at home, I got confused and thought I had used a straw bag for this look. Oops.
Let’s start with the olive smocked blouse. I LOVE IT SO MUCH. It looks like a very nice blouse, but it’s actually a super soft polished t-shirt material (60% cotton, 40% modal) which makes me love it even more. Ruffled at the neck, smocked at the yoke, and puffed at the sleeves, what’s not to love. It’s got a nice relaxed fit, and I really like that the sleeves have elasticized cuffs. This is a great top. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium. It will look good with regular denim, but I think it looks FANTASTIC with white jeans.

Okay, the white jeans. These are the jeans I put in the collage, and I realllllllly wanted to love them. I think some of you WILL love them, but they just weren’t for me.
I like they they are a modern take with a high waist, fitted through the waist and hips, and with a little kicky flare at the ankle. They have some nice stretch to them, and they are a great weight and not see thru, I just don’t love the fit on me. They are a bit too high waisted to be comfortable on me (keep in mind, I have a super short torso), and I just didn’t think they were flattering on my frame. I really do think that these will be great on taller ladies and hope that some of y’all will give them a try.
And don’t worry, I found a pair that I DO love (more on those in a minute)

I showed these dark bourbon leather buckle sandals to you in a flat lay last week where I highlighted 4 pairs of Sam Edelman sandals. I told y’all that I had to decided to keep a different pair (the embellished slide sandals), but I have to say, I might be changing my mind. I’m realizing that these are more comfortable (they aren’t as stiff as the embellished slides), and I really do like the look. I’m in my regular size 6 1/2, but I need to size up a 1/2.

Here I switched up the jeans to a pair of white jeans I LOVE!!! And I know y’all are going to love them too! After all, I know most of y’all are loyal to Wit and Wisdom just like I am.

Actually, when I went to grab the link for these white jeans, I realized they are actually called “ankle skinny pants”. However, I totally think of them as just super soft and awesome white jeans. Now that I see that they aren’t called jeans, I get it, because they are SO DANG SOFT and stretchy….but I really do think of them as jeans and will style them like they are jeans. They are 53% cotton, 29% polyester, 15% rayon, and 3% spandex. I think there must be at least 5% unicorn dust in them too because they’re just that good.
And just so you know, I’ve ordered TONS of white jeans this year from several different retailers looking for a pair that I loved, and I hadn’t loved any of them. In fact, I straight up hated most of them. BUT THEN I TRIED THESE.
Now, full disclosure, you can see the pockets a bit in them. This is usually a deal breaker for me with white jeans, but for some reason it’s not for me with these jeans. I’ve decided that I actually prefer to see the pockets a bit over having white jeans with fake pockets. I really don’t like the fake pockets, so I’m definitely willing to accept seeing some of the pocket.
These jeans are really stretchy, very slimming, and incredibly comfortable. I love the white button and the little side slits at the ankle. They aren’t see thru, but I of course still recommend wearing nude undies. They actually come in 8 colors, and I predict that some of you will like the fit and comfort so much that you will end up ordering them in at least 1 more color.
Now let’s talk sizing. I normally size up in white jeans and go for a size 6. The size 4 in these are perfect for me, which is my regular size. So that makes sizing a bit confusing. Size 4 is my normal size, but I often order a 6 in white jeans, and the size 4 is perfect for me in these. To sum it up, these do run a bit big, so you might consider sizing down.
Heads up, my post on Wednesday is going to be showing you many outfits (8 I think) with these white jeans. If you want to get a jump on them, now is the time.
olive smocked blouse / bracelet set / white jeans / dark bourbon leather buckle sandals
This bracelet set is fabulous, y’all. I ordered the set both in this navy combo and the pink combo. The pink set was darling too, but one of the bracelets was really stretched out, so I ended up just keeping the navy set. This stack is so vibrant and colorful, and I love how the gold beads accent the brightly colored discs.

I mean, this outfit is good. #ifidosaysomyself

OUTFIT #3
When I first showed y’all this outfit, I said I thought it was “SO ME”. Now that I’ve put it on, I 100% stand by my claim. I can guarantee you I will wear this outfit all summer long. And I’ll be wearing the shirt all spring as well.
rust blouse / sunglasses / gold earrings / denim shorts / straw tote / bracelet set / sandals
I love a flowy and breezy top with denim shorts, and this shirt really delivers. It’s flowy and romantic, with ruffle and pin tuck details. It’s quite thin (which makes it so light and airy), and I recommend wearing a neutral bra with it. Some might want to wear a cami under it, but I felt comfortable in it with my nude bra and no cami. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium. If I didn’t need extra room in the chest, a small would have been good.
These shorts are my favorite cut offs I’ve ever owned. I think this is my 3rd year with these shorts, and I know without a doubt they will still be my most worn shorts of the summer. This year I was also able to grab them in the bleached maritime wash (although almost sold out now) and the distressed and faded black pair. I own them in both a 27 and a 28. I’m wearing the size 27 here, but I actually prefer the fit of the size 28. The 28s give me a bit more length and a bit more room, which I appreciate. (I couldn’t find my 28s, which is why I’m wearing the 27s here.)
The inspiration outfit collage had a straw tote with a chic black and brown handle. I don’t own that one, so I grabbed this straw tote from last year instead. I liked the fun the colorful pom poms added to the outfit.

Here’s another close up of the bracelet set.
And pay attention to the detailing on the blouse here as well. So pretty! If you don’t love this rust color, the blouse also comes in classic white and black.

I think I #nailedit.

OUTFIT #4
So last Monday my blog post had a handful of flat lays. I plan on bringing all of them to life at some point, but I was able to get this one done for today’s post.
white tee / MUST HAVE denim jacket ON SALE / coral tie waist shorts / leopard bag / bracelet stack / studded sandals
I should have made the time to put on my sunless tanner, but the outfit is still adorable even without a golden bronze.
The MUST HAVE denim jacket is ON SALE, and I do believe this is my 7th year with this jacket. That’s impressive. It’s got a bit of stretch to it, so it’s comfy to wear and not stiff or boxy at all. I’m wearing a medium in the jacket. I’m wearing a medium in the tee too.
The coral tie waist shorts have an elasticized waistband and a cute little tie waist. They also come in pink, khaki, olive, mint, and black. I’m wearing the mediums here. The small fit me as well because of the elasticized waist, but I like the additional room and comfort that the mediums give me.

This is a great look for when you want to wear shorts, but you need to look nicer than just denim shorts and a tee.

Every time I got to an outfit I’d think-Nope! This is my favorite!! They’re all too cute! I can’t even choose!
Shay Shull says
Please tell me why I don’t already have those Zella leggings in my cart?! That pink is PERFECT!!
Karen says
I’ve had my eye on those Wit and Wisdom pants in several of the colors for awhile now! I’m going to hop on over and order them in white, since I’m need of a new pair of white jeans as well. You’ve encouraged me to go ahead and order a colored pair too-there are some good colors to choose from! Wit and Wisdom are my favorite too, they always fit me well!
Sheaffer says
Me too, Karen! They pretty much always work on me! xoxo
Keri says
You look super adorable in both the olive top and the rust top. I know you said you ordered a medium in the rust for room through the bust. Do you think a small would have been too tight? We are similar shapes, and the white one would be so cute this summer with denim. And… I finally ordered the must have denim jacket. There were only two left per Nordstrom so it forced my hand! Can’t wait to get it.
Sheaffer says
Hi, Keri! I eyeballed the small in store, and it looked like it would be too small on me (but in addition to boobs, I have a wide rib cage as well). There’s not really any give in the material, so I think a medium is best for me. And I agree, the white will be amazing with denim shorts! xoxo
Kate says
Great outfits! Do you find the blanknyc black shorts to fit like the best shorts ever (aka the ones in this post)? ?
Sheaffer says
YES! They are the same, Kate! xoxo

Thank you 🙂
