A white shirt with jeans is like an American classic.
However, I can say that until Pinterest, I had no interest in owning this American classic.
But when I started seeing them all over everybody’s boards, my interest was peaked.
When I saw this one at The Gap, I snatched it up.
It was a really good fit and a good price (I got it at 40% off!).
(Inspiration outfit pinned, but originally found here.)
Oxford shirt: GAP
Jeans: GAP
Belt: LOFT
And because I can’t have 127 different posts all about a white shirt, I thought I would get a head start and show you how the same pair of skinny jeans, white shirt, and boots can look SO different when paired with a magical scarf.
The only thing different in each picture here is a scarf. However, it looks like a completely different outfit in each picture. I’m telling you, scarves are magic.

White Shirt: GAP
Jeans: Swanky Boutique (read a sad story about them here if you are new to the blog)
Leopard scarf: Francesca’s (This scarf is really great. Light in weight, but a lot of volume)
Black, Purple, Red, and Khaki scarf: LOFT (sold out online)
Multi-colored and fringed scarf: OLD NAVY (sold out online)
Boots: Ross
The above boots are my most favorite pair of boots I’ve ever owned. Ever.
They are super comfortable, stylish (and yet classic), and I love the shape of them.
I would say that I have received more compliments on these boots than I have on any other single piece of clothing my whole life, and I have only owned them for 2 years.
When I wear them, I might have as many as 3-4 people a day ask me about them.
So, in case you are wondering, I got them 2 years ago at Ross.
They were a little more than I like to spend.
Just kidding.
They were $19.
Do you hate me?
I don’t blame you.
One night the hubby and I were at the movies with our friends Lisa and Brandon, and as we were leaving the theater a lady walked up to me and told me she liked my boots (as I said before, this was not uncommon).
For some reason, a reason that I still don’t understand myself,
I thought she told me she liked my boobs.
Is it weird that I wasn’t offended?
Because I wasn’t.
Is it weird that I was flattered?
Because I was.
I was also maybe just a little confused.
I didn’t know quite how to react.
Was I supposed to just thank her politely?

All of those thoughts ran through my head in the 2-3 seconds it took for me to realize that she was in fact talking about my boots.
Of course she was.
They are really great boots.

I want that last scarf! They're all so cute but that last one is fabulously-Shay. Old Navy needs to make some more! My favorite part about the classic look are the red shoes. Red shoes rock!

I know those boobs, I mean BOOTS : ) and they are perfect!
Seriously though, I have the great white all American shirt and ai love it, although I have to admit its been hanging in there quite a while and never as dolled up as you made yours. So I'm switching my outfit for today. Bye bye boring blue boat neck tee and hello white button down with khaki shorts and, yes, that's right, darling scarf!
Thanks for taking me from mom of two to cute mom (is she working and taking a break to play with her kids? O how cute!) at the playground today

Yesterday, I wore my Denim shirt to a higher profile session with leggings and boots–inspired by this post: http://pinteresttoldmeto.blogspot.com/search/label/denim%20shirt . My client actually told me that I was the "most adorable photographer ever" and we talked about your site! I never would have put that together (or even bought the denim shirt) without your recommendation! Thanks! 🙂

Super cute — love the red flats, love all the scarves. And dang, now I need to hit up Francesscas!!! And that's hilarious about the boob/ts. when your top-half looks like a 12-yr old boy, you don't get those comments. 🙂

This is such a cute, simple outfit! I love my red flats (wearing them today actually!) and they were only $12 from Target! After reading this post I need to go scarf shopping!

Oh my goooshh! Dying over your story. Hilarious. I would have been flattered too. At least you didn't say something like "They're real!" because that would have made things really awkward. 😉
