I pretty much like it every time I see somebody else rocking it…..
I think those girls look classic and cool.
But for some reason, sometimes when I try to wear it,
I come off looking dorky instead of preppy.
Preppy = interestingly cool
Dorky = not cool at all
I want to look classic and cool, not like a big ol’ nerd….
and there seems to be a fine line between the two for me.
I actually like this look, so I guess I fell on the right side of the line this time.
And if we are being totally honest, I wanted to have a cute pair of quirky glasses on. I however am not one of those people that can pull fake glasses off. I really want to be that person, but I’m not. And even if I was that person, I would suppress my urge to put the glasses on, because the hubby would not allow me to ever live it down. Like EVER.
(I was however that person that sat in 7th grade choir, talked about NKOTB, and fashioned a fake retainer from a paper clip.)
I guess I’ve matured.
Shirt: LOFT
Cardigan in Look #1 and Sweater in Look #2: both LOFT
Belt: LOFT
Pearls: LOFT
Jeans: Gap
Shoes: Gap
It’s like Gap and LOFT got married and had a preppy baby.
A really cool and not dorky at all preppy baby.
🙂
Check back tomorrow to see What 3 Things I’m Obsessed With!

2 comments: 1. I totally want to see you in a fake pair of glasses one post. I think you would look adorable! Forget Chris, I want to see it! 2. I went to a NKOTB concert when I was in 2nd grade. Does that make you feel old? I hope so ;).

You look adorable, not at all dorky. I think the key to prep is kind of going over the top with it…your chunky necklace makes it less librarian and more fashionista.

Hi Sheaffer, Just wanted to let you know how much your website inspires me.. I'm totally wearing a "pinterest told me to" inspired outfit today…
-Mint green j. crew outlet necklace
-cream/white polka dot lace old navy cami (which was marked down to $3.99 yesterday!)
-Red HUE leggins
-the cutest wedge shoes that are similar to the ON ones you posted last week
Would have never worn the mint green necklace with the red pants if it wasn't for the blog.. thanks!

Hi Kellie's friend! (Leave your name next time you comment so I know what to call you!) SO happy to hear that you and Kellie are enjoying the blog. LOVE her. (I see that your computer went a little haywire when you were trying to comment! Ha!!!!! I started to remove the repeat comments, but it looks like I removed them because someone was being mean or something, so I ended up just leaving the others on there.) Anyway, I think it's so fun that you are both reading and then talking about it at work! Every time you have somebody in a chair with some sort of dental instrument in their mouth, you should gently urge them to read the blog too!!! 🙂
