Hey Everybody! Today is the last Wednesday of the month, so you know what that means….it’s time to join up with me, Shay and Mel and let everybody know WHAT’S UP with you this fine Wednesday!
WHAT WE’RE EATING
I wanted to share a new find with y’all. It’s what we’ve I’ve been eating this week. Nobody else in my house would touch these with a 10 foot pole. ZUCCHINI NOODLES. I thought they were pretty good. I know you’re wondering if they tasted like pasta. And the answer is, Ummmmmm. HECK NO.
HOWEVER. They did kind of allow me to kind of feel like I was kind of eating pasta. I guess. Kind of. 😉
I drenched them in marinara and parmesan cheese , and I will definitely have them again when I’m trying to be really good. But come on. It’s zucchini. It’s not, nor will it ever be, pasta. Still thought it was worth sharing since swimsuit season is just around the corner!
WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT
I attended a blogger conference in Dallas last weekend, and I got to hang with my girl gang (you’ll see them in a second)! I was terrible at taking pictures (and most of what I wore is already sold out anyway), but I did manage to get a quick pic in this darling little buffalo check dress. I also carried THIS clutch (type in “taj clutch”), but it somehow didn’t make it into the picture. For size reference, I’m wearing a petite small in the dress. Please notice the pockets. #pocketsaremyjam Also, the dress is from Anthropologie, and there is FREE SHIPPING ON EVERY ORDER that ends today!

Get The Look For Yourself Here. I was wearing my cork wedges from last year that are now sold out, but I found a pair of wedges I liked that are by the brand Casllisto! If you are a long time reader of the blog, you’ll remember the pair of Callisto putty wedges that were my 2nd MUST HAVE I ever named! #memories
Here’s my little blogger tribe. Getting time with these girls is good for my soul, and my goodness we laugh a lot when we’re together! That’s Carly from C Style, Cassie from Hi Sugarplum, and Megan from Honey We’re Home. We attended lots of meetings, classroom sessions, luncheons, and cocktail hours through the weekend. But Saturday night was perfection. We danced the night away at the finale party that was a celebration for the launch of the rewardStyle Like to Know It app (you should totally get it), ate Taco Bueno on the hotel floor at 1:00 a.m., and then slept until 10 the next morning. It’s probably been 10 years since I slept until 10 o’clock. It. Was. Glorious.
My dress is sold out, but I was wearing Carly’s fab earrings. You can find them HERE.
After looking at these pictures, I’m sure glad they let my into their Blond Bombshell club. 😉 #honorarymember
WHAT I’M LOVING
Okay, girls. I’ve got a new online boutique to share with y’all! Have you heard of Social Threads? It has the absolute cutest clothes…and here’s what you need to know…there’s FREE SHIPPING with NO MINIMUM! #holla Click HERE for their return policy.
They have so many great items, but this top immediately caught my eye. It had me at embroidery. And then it doubled down with the stripes. I was immediately smitten.
Size References: Okay, so the sizing on this is tricky. I’m often a small in tops, but I sometimes size up to a medium in button downs and tops like this (that don’t have a lot of give). Well, the medium pulled a bit across this chest, but the large was good for me. So, I guess I sized up 1 size. I think that if you’re chest isn’t on the larger size, then you will probably be good with your regular size. I’m wearing a 27 in the shorts, so they are true to size. Size up a 1/2 size in the sandals.

When I actually put on the outfit, I added some bracelets and switched out my cross body for a big tote. This top is truly my idea of a perfect spring and summer shirt. It is thin, so you will have to wear a cami with it, but you won’t even mind because the shirt is just SO DANG CUTE! And you can use the code sheaffer15 for $15 OFF your $100 purchase!

If you want to see the outfit in action, check out my instatories this morning anytime after 6:15 or so. That’s right people, I’m trying out instastories. I’m a little bit excited, and a little terrified. 😉 So, head on over to instagram (you can follow me @sheaffertoldmeto) and then click my profile picture in the top left corner. The videos are just better looks at the items I’m wearing. For example, you’ll get a closer shot of the earrings (they are so incredibly light and make such a statement!, you’ll get to see inside my bag, etc.
Depending on the feedback (please be kind, but feel free to be honest), I might do these little videos every so often! Or I might vow to never ever do one again. We shall see. 😉
Again, the top is HERE and the earrings are HERE, but you can get the rest of the look here:
If you prefer a lighter pair of shorts, you can click HERE for the pair below. Other items I’m loving from the Social Threads site include this embroidered sundress, this wooden handled clutch, and these swimsuit cover-ups.
Remember, use the code sheaffer15 to get $15 OFF your $100 purchase!
Here’s the same top with a cross body and my frayed him ankle grey skinny jeans. AND THE JEANS JUST WENT 40% OFF!!!!!!! I have these in my regular size (27), but also got them in a petite so I could make sure they showed some ankle. So I’m 5’4″ and wearing a 27P. I think I might should have sized down because there is some stretching that occurs during the day. I already have these photographed for an outfit in Friday’s post and in an outfit next week, so get them while they are on sale (and still in stock). They are very comfy, have quite a bit of stretch, and I love the fun hem.

And I know I’ll be wearing the top with wedges and my favorite white jeans too!
WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO
Same old, Same old around here. 😉
WHAT I’M WORKING ON
I’m currently working with a brand on a special Mother’s Day giveaway! Y’all will hear about it more next week!
WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT
Today is Chris’s birthday. I fell in love with Chris when we were both 16 years old, and I love him way more now than I did then. I’m not going to get all mushy, but I’m incredibly thankful for him. Happy Birthday, Babe! I love you so much!
WHAT I’M WATCHING
Dancing With The Stars. Yep, I love it. #noshame
WHAT I’M LISTENING TO
I’m on a big country music kick right now!
WHAT I’M WEARING
I put together an outfit, all with items you’ve already seen on the blog at least once before. I know that so many of you purchased the peplum hem and bell sleeve top from THIS post (with the white jeans, turquoise necklace, and leopard clutch)…so I thought I would show a totally different look with it. I’m wearing a small in the top (and it’s very loose and flow), but that’s how it’s supposed to be.

I cannot tell you how many people have stopped me about this strap. And every single time I’m asked, I’m so proud! People think it’s designer, but I love getting to tell them that it’s just from Nordstrom and that NOW IT’S UNDER $30!!!!!!

WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND
Friday night we’re just hanging at home. Saturday afternoon Carter has a baseball game, and Saturday night the boys are going to a Nerf Gun war at Cowboy stadium with some friends. I’m going to a happy hour thing at a friend’s house, and then straight home for pj’s and Bravo. YESSSSSSS!!!!!!!
WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO
SUMMER! I’m also dreading it a bit. Because SWIMSUITS. But don’t worry girls, I hope to have a round up on Friday’s post!
BONUS QUESTION: MY FAVORITE SPRING SHOE
I realize most of the world is still having chilly days. So on normal spring days, my favorite shoes are THESE flats (in classic nude) and THESE sneakers.
But since we are already experiencing incredibly warm temperatures in my neck of the woods, it’s these cognac sandals that have been on repeat around here. They have a tiny little wedge, I love the wide straps, and the brass studs make them special. And the foot bed is padded to make them comfy. #yesplease I do recommend sizing up a 1/2 size.
If you want some options, here are some other Edelman shoes:
Also, if you are looking for a great pair of heels, I’ve got a wonderful pair for you! These are 3/4 ” high and a really vibrant hot pink. You can see they cross and tie in the back. They are different, and I love them.
That’s it for today, ladies! Now, don’t forget to link up!

Always enjoy reading your blog and all your great ideas! LOVE the hot pink heels. Thought I would tell you that the link actually goes to a 4/17 post instead of the store. Have a great day celebrating Chris!

Christina says

Sheaffer says
Thanks for the positive feedback, Christina!!!! xoxo 🙂
Gina B says
I love that Social Threads top! How would you say the sizing runs? I’m an XS at JCrew and Loft. Would you say it’s similar sizing?
Sheaffer says
Hi, Gina! I talk about the sizing in the post because it’s tricky. LOFT sizing varies so much for me that I can’t really compare it. Sorry I’m not more help! xoxo 🙂
Kate says

Great story! Yes, please make more!
Sheaffer says
Thanks, Sheila! Maybe I will! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
Cori says
What color lipstick do you wear with your red tops? I need a new shade! Not orangey!
Sheaffer says
Hi, Cori! I can’t wear reds. They ALWAYS turn orange on me. I wear “fashion icon” by Lancome with everything. Hope this helps! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
Erin says
Love that y’all had fun at the blogger conference and y’all looked so cute! The high heels in the last photo – are sooooo cute! Have a great day! Xoxo Erin
Beth says
Don’t give up on “zoodles”! Here’s my advice: Be sure they’re on the dry side. If they’re not, let them set on a paper towel for a little while. If you store them in the fridge, put a paper towel in the bag and don’t close up the bag so that air can get to them. Mine keep for several days that way. Tuck them under regular pasta until you get used to them. I started with 1/2 pasta, 1/2 zoodles. That’s usually how I serve them to my husband. I use less pasta and more zoodles for myself. I don’t prepare a lot of dishes specifically them. I use them with bolognese sauce, chili, in soups… anyplace I might use regular pasta. Try them that way and let me know what you think. I’ve been spiralizing for a couple of years now. (I am also incorporating cauliflower rice into our meals, but I always cook it 5-8 minutes in the microwave first. I use it with and in place of rice. We love it! Get the frozen riced cauliflower though. Too much trouble to “rice” it.)
Sheaffer says
Great tips! Thanks, Beth!!!!! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂

Can we please go back to 1am taco bueno…that’s the stuff of dreams right there! You looked darling in every outfit, and I need that embroidered top STAT!
Naomi says
In love with that embroidered top ????!! The whole outfit with the denim shorts is perfect. Gonna have to check out Social Threads now.
Michele Owens says
I saw similar shoes to your Steve Madden cognac sandals in several colors, including brown, gold & blush. : )
Cate says
I didn’t really like doodles with regular meat/tomato spaghetti sauce, but we loved them with shrimp some olive oil, lemon, garlic, and red pepper. Going to spiralize yellow squash tonight & see how we like it as “pasta”. My husband doesn’t care for spaghetti squash
Cariann Jacobsen says
Loved your insta story. You are just too cute!! I really want to order this tote. Pretty please, what color is yours?
Sheaffer says
Hi, Cariann! Mine is the cognac! Did you see they have a coupon code right now? hiMOM gets you 15% OFF and FREE SHIPPING!!!! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
