What’s Up Wednesday

WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK
Well, I’m on my healthy eating kick again….so we are eating healthy all week!  Lots of chicken.  Lots of fish.  Lots of veggies.  Sigh.  I do have a new favorite snack.  Nut Thins (my favorite little cracker) spread with Laughing Cow Light Swiss Cheese and sprinkled with dried cranberries.  I have no idea how I came up with it, but I love it!  It’s a perfect little snack!

WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT
For some reason, the last several weeks I’ve been hit really hard with the fact that our little guy is growing up.  (I know, shocker.)   Now that he’s 7 1/2, and he’s our only, I’m starting to realize that he’s going to be off to college in the blink of an eye!   Here are a couple of random pics that I was able to put my hands on quickly.

WHAT I’M LOVING
PAJAMAS!  Nice pajamas are such a great treat to yourself.  For years, I only slept in old tees.  But over the last 5 years or so I’ve started getting a new pair of pajamas every year.  And within the last year, I’ve added several to my closet.  (One of the funniest things Chris ever said to me was when he looked at me with pleading eyes and said, “Will you please stop wearing the Vote for Pedro t-shirt to bed?”  Ha!  Why yes, yes I will.  Love you, babe! )

Lake sent me this short sleeve top and pant set last year. You seriously need to just hop over here to at least check them out.  For size reference, I’m wearing a small.  They are a luxury item at almost $100 but I’m telling you, if pajamas are your thing (or one of your loved ones things), then you will love these.  And I know it’s early, but these pj’s are a great idea for Mother’s Day!

I literally took this picture after I’d been up for about 15 minutes.  That’s real life right there.  (Oh, except I’m wearing a bra.  You’re welcome.)

I added a shorts set from Old Navy to my pajamas collection last week, but now it’s sold out.  🙁  And this week I received this precious nightgown in the mail from Lake!  Thank you, I LOVE the pink!  Again, I’m wearing a small.  I love short nightgowns in the warmer months, and I love still looking cute while wallowing around the house on a Saturday morning!  🙂

WHAT I’VE BEEN UP TO
We’ve been in baseball mode over here and the team is doing great (GO BRAVES!), but I haven’t snapped any great pics yet. Look for some pics in an upcoming Friday Favorites post!

We had the family over for Easter, and Carter and Brody (my nephew) had the best time together.  I love that these boys have each other!

Also, I managed to sneak away to Anthropologie last weekend for a bit, and I found several things I knew y’all would be interested in!

Now this dress did not even come come close to zipping up in the back, but it was the only one they had in store and I had to try it on.  It’s a 2……and I’m not sure if a 4 would have zipped up either?  Anyway, not sure if it runs true to size or if you need to size up.  I love the color and the overall shape of it.  And it’s so whimsical and fun!  I think it’s cute and casual with the wedges I have on, but it could also easily be dressed up with a pair of great heels! #pleaseignoremyhair

So THESE shorts are expensive….but they need to live in your closet.  FOR REAL.  I’m wearing a 27, so I think they are true to size.  I already have the taupe at home (just a great neutral), but I love this color as well.  I mean, how perfect do they look with my tassel necklace?  They are the same pilcro material as my mustard pants (found in this post HERE).  If you are like me, you might have a closet full of shorts, but you consistently grab for the same 2-3.  THESE will be what you grab.  They are STRETCHY…and COMFY….and FLATTERING.   AND THEY COME IN 9 COLORS!!!!!  Yep, they’re perfect.  And if you want a longer option, click HERE.

And here’s a look at the precious sleeveless tee I was wearing with the shorts as well.  This tee is sooooo soft, has a cute little peplum hem, and comes in 3 colors.  I’m wearing a small, and it’s definitely a generous fit.  However, I liked it that way and wouldn’t want to size down to an x-small.  I really like the relaxed look of it.

Don’t let the name “ripple front top” scare you away.  It actually does a great job disguising any ripples you might have.  Not that I have any of those or would know anything about that (ahem)!  🙂  Click HERE for the top.  It looks like it is structured, but it’s not at all!  It’s very stretchy!  I’m wearing a small, so I think it’s true to size.  I wouldn’t pair it with these shorts in real life (it’s quite a bit dressier than the shorts), but I was wearing the shorts when I put the top on, so there you go.

Here’s a GREAT tank for y’all today!  It’s a peplum, has nice details, comes in 2 other solid colors AND a really pretty floral!!!!  I sized up to a medium.  And here’s the deal.  Let’s just be honest.  When worn alone, it makes my boobs look huge.  So, I personally probably wouldn’t wear it alone, but it sure is cute layered under my favorite cardi!  Now, if you want your boobs to look huge, then this top is for you.  #idon’tjudge  😉  And y’all, my flares are STILL UNDER $40!  I’m wearing a 5.

WHAT I’M WORKING ON
I’m currently working on a post for next week called “Should Have Been a MUST HAVE”, and I’m really excited about it!  I started realizing there were things in my life that I was constantly reaching for, and I started thinking about how I should have named those items MUST HAVES!  So, I made a list and started writing a post!  Look for it next Wednesday!

I’m also still trying to find y’all some white jeans!  I’m still loving mine; however, I’ve found through comments and e-mails that people either LOVE or HATE what I consider to be THE BEST WHITE JEANS EVER.  I had no idea they would be so polarizing!  I still love mine (click HERE to see the post where I declare my love), but apparently they are not working on every body type.  Still, they are constantly popping back on and off again on the site, and right now they are on again!  I got a 4, so I think they are true to size.  Click HERE for the jeans.

When the above jeans were completely sold out early last week, I ordered 2 new pair so I could hopefully give y’all some white jean options!  I ordered a pair of Vigoss (which are now sold out!  boo!), and I ordered THESE from Articles of Society.  I ordered a size up (so I got a 28), and I thought they were fine.  I didn’t love them, but they do have really great reviews, so you might want to try them for yourself!  I would definitely recommend sizing up 1 size.

WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT
I am excited about SHORTS SEASON!  Man, am I ready for it to warm up permanently!

So y’all know the mustard pilcro pants I got from Anthro?  Well, I got some shorts too.  I showed you the red ones above that I tried on in store, but these taupe ones are what I have so far.  And they’re awesome.  In fact, I love them even more than I love the pants.  WHOAH.

I’m blogging, and the hubby is watching College basketball.  So I’m hearing a whole lot of “Defense!xx Defense!xx”

WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND
Friday night Carter has a game (GO BRAVES!), and Saturday night we are going to a Crawfish Boil!

WHAT I’M WEARING

WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH
My birthday and Chris’s birthdays are both next month!  I’m going to the zoo on a field trip with the little fella, we have a ranch trip planned, and I’m hoping the weather is going to stay good and that we’ll be able to eat dinner outside a lot!

SPRING CLEANING TIPS
I don’t have tips.  Seriously.  Wait, I have one.  I’m thinking of hiring a deep cleaning service.  I did this once in our old house before we put it on the market, and I was so glad I did.  And when I did, I remember thinking it would be a great investment to do that once a year.  Well, now that we’ve been in the new house about a year and a half, I think it’s time!
