WHAT I’M WEARING / SHOPPING FOR

I’ve placed some really big orders lately. Only some of the orders have arrived, but I LOVE every single thing that I’ve already received.

Let’s start out with these two necklaces. Styled together, they look darling. You’ll see me wearing the two together with several outfits below.

It is too early to wear this little sweater set right now, but sets like this from this brand often sell out, which is why I’m highlighting it now instead of waiting.

I’m wearing a medium, but I definitely need to be in a small. I have the waistband turned over once because the pants are soooo long, and the sweater is really roomy. I’ve already ordered a small, but again I’m showing it already because I’m afraid it’s going to sell out. It also comes in a dark charcoal grey and a deep forest green.

The material of this set is much more conducive to wearing it now. It’s a great little set, and I highly recommend it! It comes in 9 total colors, but I really like the apricot and the light grey too.

It’s obviously short sleeve, and the material is cooling and buttery soft. The above set is more like a light sweater material, and this set is like a substantial jersey. I’m not even sure that makes sense, but it has some weight to it although it’s not heavy. It just looks and feels very well made, doesn’t show panty lines, and I think it’s a perfect travel set. I will be wearing this set lounging at home as well as all around town, but it really is a perfect travel outfit. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium and like the fit.

This dress is casual and a great transition dress from now until fall. Right now it would be cute worn alone with sandals or sneakers, but I really love it styled for fall with a denim jacket and booties. Ladies. This pleated midi dress totally took me by surprise. It looks so much more expensive than it is, the color is gorgeous, the sash and flutter sleeves are totally charming, and all of the pleats are just so lovely. Depending on how it’s styled, it can be so versatile. I’m talking church, the office, or even a fall wedding! I’m wearing it with studded heeled sandals here, but it would also be great worn casually with booties. For a wedding, I’m thinking nude pumps and fancy jewelry. For the office, you could even style it with a blazer and mules. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

WHAT WE ARE EATING 

So we have a new favorite seafood place in McKinney. It’s in a terrible location and the ambiance is nothing to write home about, BUT THE FOOD IS CONSISTENTLY DELICIOUS. We’ve been 3 times now and have had a wonderful experience each time.

It’s called Cajun Fish Grill! For you local peeps, it’s at Eldorado and Hardin on the Northwest corner behind Sonic.

Carter and Chris love the fried shrimp basket, so they’ve both gotten it all 3 times.

I had the shrimp cocktail once, the clam chowder once, and the crawfish creole soup once…. and then I eat a couple of shrimp off of Chris’s and Carter’s plates. 🙂  Oh, the hushpuppies are fantastic too! So light and flavorful, but with a perfectly crunchy shell. YUM. Next time I’m trying one of the grilled fish platters with the grilled squash and zucchini with the red beans and rice.

The owner has been there each time we’ve eaten, and so have the same staff that work the counter. They are so nice and accommodating, and I really hope they make it! Try it for yourself and tell all your friends!

Have y’all seen the Sam’s Club posts I’ve done over the last couple of months? I’ve been really loving the grocery delivery, and this week we finally tried the pork carnitas we got in the last delivery. The pork comes in chunks with a light sauce, and I just had to heat it up in a skillet for about 10 minutes. After it was heated thru, I shredded it all up with tongs and then I added some garlic powder, some Tony’s, and some fresh lime juice.

We put it on corn tortillas with shredded pepperjack cheese, cilantro, purple onion, avocado, and some more fresh lime juice. THEY WERE AMAZING.

I’ve never tried a Trader Joe’s frozen pizza before, but I decided to give this cauliflower pizza a try and am so glad I did. The crust was crispy and yummy, and the toppings all tasted so fresh. I will buy this again for sure.

I’d never seen this at Trader Joe’s before, so I think it’s new. All I did was just heat it up in a skillet.

I sprinkled some toasted sesame seeds on top, and that was it. I’ll definitely get this again too.

For you ladies that have a Market Street nearby, we like to get the vegetable kabobs as a side dish. Sometimes we grill them on the bamboo skewers they come on, and sometimes I take them off the skewers and sauté them.

I’ve ordered several pairs of new jeans to do a DENIM REVIEW, and I’m excited to get them all in and start trying them on and ranking my favorites.

WHAT I’M LOVING

I have two random things I’m loving that I’m going to share with you today. One is something that I’ve owned and loved for like 4-5 years now, and 1 is new to me as of last month.

If you’ve been a reader for a while now, you know I love my Our Place cookware. I use it every single day, and I oftentimes use it 2x a day.

I’ve blogged about my love for the cookware at least 10 times, but as I was cleaning up after dinner on Monday, I knew I needed to share some pics with you. Because not only do I love how it cooks, I also love how it cleans up. The picture on the left is right after I had sauteed some veggies and then some chicken breasts. I like getting a good crust on the chicken, which is why it looks like the pan has been burnt to a crisp and looks like it won’t clean up.

I should have done a video, but the pan on the right is after I let it soak in warm soapy water for like 2 minutes and then washed it all right out. And then the next morning, I was still able to fry eggs that just slipped around on the non-stick surface. This pan is incredible.

Well, I’ve got great news. When I went to grab the links for the pan, I saw that Our Place is having a site-wide sale!

My girlfriend Cassie was hyping up the NEW XL tubing mascara from tarte, and the second I saw the product on her, I’m not sure if I’ve ever hit “add to cart” so fast.

WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO

School started several weeks ago, so we’ve just been getting into the groove of things over here. We’ve been driving a ton because Carter gets his license in a couple of weeks, and we want him to have alllllllllllll the practice. We’ve also been to the ranch a couple of times and had a handful of get togethers with friends. Sadly, I seem to have no photographic evidence of anything.

I did find this pic on my phone from the end of summer. Carter and a bunch of his buddies played basketball at PSA this summer and had the best time. Such a great group of boys!

WHAT I’M WATCHING

So we’re watching Breaking Bad.

Yes, I know some of you watched it back in 2015…but not us. We’re watching it now. Season 2 was super slow for us, but OMG this show. If you don’t know, Bryan Cranston is a high school chemistry teacher that is diagnosed with cancer. In order to pay for his treatment, he starts cooking meth. This show is every bit as crazy as it sounds. The acting is incredible, and the storyline although totally far-fetched is somehow believable.

WHAT ARE MY RECENT AMAZON PURCHASES

So this is a bit of a random assortment, but these are the last 5 items I ordered on Amazon…..

The shower oil and the lip replenisher are products I heard about from Dani Austin. She seemed obsessed with him, and I was #influenced SO FAST. She said the shower oil is the best product she’s ever bought on Amazon and that the lip replenisher was like no other lip product she’s ever used! The shower oil is super luxurious, incredibly hydrating, and reminds me very much of a much more expensive shower oil from L’Occitane. This bottle is going to last me a sweet forever. Y’all know I’ve been using the L’aneige lip mask for years now and scream and shout about my love for it. I love how it makes my lips feel. This lip replenisher is different. It’s thicker and it has more staying power. I keep it in my bedside table, I put it on at night before going to sleep, and I still have it on when I wake up in the morning! It’s pricey, but a little goes a long way. You need to go check out all of the before and after pictures on the site because they speak for themselves. I’m telling you, this product is worth the price.

I grabbed the devotional last week after being #influced by Erika! I’m only 2 days in, so I’m just getting started, but I’ve loved adding it to my other devotionals in the morning and have really enjoyed the first two days.
