WHAT WE ARE EATING
First, I want to share a new find with y’all! Actually, I’m not sure if it’s a new find or not because I kind of think I maybe used to use this dressing but forgot about it at some point? Whenever I found it, I’M OBSESSED. It’s made with Greek Yogurt, so it tastes rich and creamy, but it’s actually a healthy choice! Get it, you won’t be sorry. My favorite salad right now is mixed greens, arugula, tomatoes, avocado, and yellow peppers with this dressing. Oh, and let’s not forget the most important part, CROUTONS.
On Monday, I roasted a ton of veggies on my Our Place Oven Pan to use for the week. I roast them 1 time, and then I have leftovers to grab from for all sorts of dishes during the week. (Click HERE to get to my full post on the Ovenware Set.) And don’t forget you can use the code SHEAFFER10 for 10% OFF!
I drizzle the veggies with olive oil and then season with salt, pepper, and a little bit of garlic powder. They come out so tender and so flavorful. I roasted this batch on 425 for 30 minutes.
On Monday, I paired them with the cauliflower gnocchi from Trader Joe’s (I cook mine in the air fryer for crispy edges!) and some marinara from Trader Joe’s as well. Light, healthy, and absolutely delicious.
WHAT I’M LOVING
When I first posted this darling dress on Facebook a couple of weeks ago, a sweet reader (Shout Out, Rebecca!) posted the picture below in the comments section on my Facebook page. She got permission from everybody in the picture for me to share it, and it totally deserves to be the “WHAT I’M LOVING” this week.
Rebecca said that on the last week of school, all of these teachers coordinated to wear their dresses on the same day. As Rebecca said, the dress “fits every figure and is so comfy!”
HOW CUTE ARE THESE LADIES!!! This picture makes me smile so big!
As a reminder, here I am in the dress. It’s ONLY $15, y’all! I wouldn’t blame you if you wanted to grab it in at least 2 colors.
WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO
We’ve been summering HARD over here. We are REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLY good at summer. Lots of pool time, lots of grilling out, lots of late nights, and lots of late mornings. It’s bliss.
WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT
Next week marks 5 years since we got the boys. We had these pics taken the week after we got them. This is my very favorite picture of my family.
Oh, my heart.
WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT
Chris’s sister and her family are coming to visit us this week from California! We’ve never even met our newest niece (she’s 4 months old), and we’re excited to spend time with the whole family!
WHAT I’M WORKING ON
Here’s everything you need to know about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale…
WHAT IS THE NORDSTROM ANNIVERSARY SALE?
Well, for starters, it’s the most highly anticipated event each year for STMT readers. We shop the sale HARD. Haha!
For the sale, Nordstrom introduces NEW Fall items across all categories (women, men, kids, home, shoes, bags, beauty), and everything hits the shelves ON SALE! We’re talking NEW FALL MERCHANDISE up to 40% OFF. It’s the perfect time to really stock up on great Fall basics. But in addition to the basics, I know that a lot of you like to take advantage of the prices to score more investment type pieces as well (like a designer bag, a leather jacket, or a really great pair of boots).
Shopping the sale together is SO MUCH FUN.
WHEN IS THE NORDSTROM ANNIVERSARY SALE?
As always, Nordstrom cardholders will get early access to the sale depending on their status. The higher your Nordy Club Status, the earlier you can start shopping. Level 4s (Icons) can start shopping on July 6, Level 3s (Ambassadors) can start shopping July 7th, Level 2s (Influencers – but not “influencers” like you think of them) can start shopping July 9th, and EVERYONE can shop on July 15th. The prices will go back up on August 1st.
Here’s a handy dandy little chart.
WHAT IF I’M NOT A CARDHOLDER?
If you’re not a cardholder, you will have to wait until July 15th to shop. Popular sizes and items will most likely be picked over, but it doesn’t mean you might not get lucky and still score a great deal or two! By that time, some returns will have already happened, so at that time I would just suggest checking back frequently for items that you might be able to grab after a return.
If you want to shop early, you can apply for a Nordstrom card HERE.
WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO KNOW?
*Instead of sending out catalogs, everybody will get to preview the sale ONLINE starting TODAY!!!
This will give you all the time in the world to browse the selection on your own, and you can even add items to your Wish List in preparation for when the sale opens.
*More than anything, I want you to know that as always, I’ll only show you things that I LOVE. I won’t show you everything just because. Nobody’s got time for that. I will do the heavy lifting with this sale….I will try on ALL THE THINGS….I’ll figure out what I do and don’t like….and then I’ll only bring you the things that I DO LOVE.
*It is my goal to make the Anniversary Sale (which can be totally overwhelming) more manageable to shop. And even more than that, I hope I can make it a ton of fun!
*Based upon information from different store managers, it seems that although there will be some inventory in stores this year, a bigger bulk of inventory will be found online.
*One last thing, if you want to make sure you don’t miss an alert, make sure you are following me on social media and are signed up for my e-mails.
* Follow me on Instagram HERE.
* Follow me on Facebook HERE. And if you want to make sure you never miss a post, click “see first” in your news feed. My Facebook posts are only seen by around 10% of my followers on average, and I do tons of SALE ALERTS over on Facebook that never even make it to the blog because they sell out!
* Hop over HERE to follow me by e-mail. (It takes under 5 seconds to sign up, and you will get blog posts to your e-mail inbox!)
OKAY! That’s it, ladies! Start carb loading now and GET READY TO HAVE SOME FUN!
After I wake up in the morning, I’m going to link some ANNIVERSARY SALE FINDS I’m most excited about, so check back for my list!
- Click HERE for the BEAUTY EXCLUSIVES. I haven’t been through the whole beauty department yet, but I’ll definitely be grabbing my favorite deodorant and the Supergoop Glow Screen deal.
- I’m loving these Quay Aviators for under $45.
- Okay, that’s all for now. It’s an unexpectedly super busy morning, and I really want to take the time to comb through all of the items before picking favorites. I am excited to see lots of basics back that they typically have. You know I’ll be grabbing my favorite throw, my favorite bras, my favorite undies, and I’ll probably get a new pair of pajamas and a blardigan too! 🙂 I’ll have a really helpful preview post on Tuesday, so be sure to look for that!
I’ll also be your Amazon Prime Day correspondent! I’ll spend July 12th and 13th scouring the site for the biggest and the best deals, and I’ll pass them on to you!
WHAT I’M LISTENING TO
Okay, so I’m not a podcast person, but I think I need to become a podcast person. TELL ME WHAT TO LISTEN TO! The only podcast I’ve ever really listened to is The Bestie Breakdown (I love it and you can catch all of our episodes HERE or on your favorite podcast platform), but I’m wanting more! Leave your recs in the comments section, please!
WHAT I’M WATCHING
So this is crazy. Chris and I are finally watching Yellowstone! That’s right Shay and Erika, we are finally watching it! AND WE ARE LOVING IT. We just started season 3, and my goodness the show is crazy. The Duttons are certifiable! Haha! But I’m telling you, I don’t know how the writers and the actors do it, but I’ve managed to fall in love with so many of the characters despite all of their glaring flaws.
WHAT I’M WEARING
On Monday’s post I highlighted 5 FABULOUS SUMMER OUTFITS with Nordstrom. I’ve got mirror selfies for you of those outfits, plus several other Nordstrom pieces for you today!
This duster has me stepping out of my comfort zone, and I love it! I think it’s so fun! And remember, if you don’t want to wear it like this, wear it as a totally chic swimsuit cover up.
This floral blouse is so pretty and all of the little details are so feminine. The collar has a tiny ruffle, the sleeves are on the longer side and gathered, there’s some smocking across the chest, and tiny little soft pleats all across the back. There are 4 colors/patterns to choose from, and I love the one with pinks, purples, and blues too. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
These paper bag shorts have the look of a medium weight linen, but they have a good amount of stretch in them, which makes them both flattering and comfortable. I’ve tried several different paper bag waist shorts in the past, but they have never fit me correctly. THESE DO! For size reference, I’m wearing my regular size 4. The belt is removable if belts aren’t your thing, but I really like it.
I’ve got another look with you for the paper bag shorts! This muscle tee (which is actually more of a light sweatshirt material) looks awesome with these high waisted shorts. It’s got an elastic hem, and you can see here how I folded the elastic under.
It’s a really cool look, and I’m happy to be in shorts that aren’t denim shorts.
But come on, it looks great with denim shorts too.
And here you can see that I’ve pulled the hem down. I like both looks!
These shorts are from Wit and Wisdom, our favorite denim brand. They have the AbSolution technology that we all know and love, which means they are super comfy and crazy flattering. You can roll up the hem just once (like you see below), or you can roll them twice (as seen on the site). For size reference, I’m wearing my regular size 4. If you want a more generous fit, size up 1.
This tie front blouse is a pretty floral design with a perfectly relaxed fit. I will be keeping it tied for sure, because as you’ll see on the site that when left untied, it’s very low cut. It drapes beautifully and is very easy to wear. I love a longer sleeve, so this top really delivers. For size reference, I’m wearing a small. It runs quite large, so I would suggest sizing down.
This white eyelet top is a perfect summer top! White eyelet is so hot right now. It’s a classic of course, but it’s experiencing quite the comeback, even though it was never really gone. For size reference, I’m wearing a small, but it’s a little tight across the chest.
This shift dress has pretty lace trim at the yoke and sleeves. I like how the sleeves are fitted up top, and then they transition to a large ruffle on the hem. The dress is a crisp cotton, but it’s still got a little bit of give to it. It also comes in tan, a soft green, and a coral. This might seem kind of random, but I think that the tan dress would also be great to wear to any type of western themed event you might have (like a charity event or rodeo). Style it with cowboy boots, and you will be good to go!
For size reference, I’m wearing a medium. If not for a large chest, I would prefer the fit of the small. The body of the dress is cut very generously.
The color is what initially drew me to this dress. A true Kelly green is my favorite color! Now, this dress isn’t for me because it’s too long on my frame. I prefer a shorter t-shirt dress, but I knew it would be perfect for some of you taller ladies! It’s a nice thick cotton with a little bit of stretch (93% cotton, 7% spandex). It comes in black too. For size reference, I’m wearing a small.
Since eyelet is having a moment, I thought I would show you three different eyelet dresses in case you want to have a moment with one of them.
This first one is exactly what I think of when I think of a white eyelet summer dress. It’s a total classic. It has a ruffle neck, a split collar, subtle puffy sleeves, a tiered skirt, and check out the pleats on the final tier. It’s so pretty. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium. It is lined.
This dress is a modern version of an eyelet dress. It’s got a super swingy fit with lots of room. It feels fresh and updated! It runs quite large. I’m in an x-small and there is still a ton of extra room. The square neck and the sleeves are too cute, just size WAY down!
This eyelet dress is a great shift fit. It’s roomy, but much more of a straight fit than the above two options. It’s got some subtle puff sleeves, and it’s lined. You tie it in the back up on the shoulders, and it’s a nice little detail. For size reference, I’m wearing a small.
WHAT ARE MY RECENT AMAZON PURCHASES
- I ordered these gorgeous earrings. They look very similar to Lana jewelry, but they are MUCH less expensive.
- I also ordered this dainty little bezel necklace (in gold) because it reminds me of a necklace that my mom wears every day. Hers is real, but this will do for me! Haha!
In preparation for Chris’s sister’s family staying with us this weekend, I ordered the following:
- A new set of our favorite sheets (I like the striped-white the best)! These sheets have 300,000 reviews y’all, and they are almost all 5 STAR REVIEWS!
- My sister raved about her towels, so I grabbed a set as well.
- I re-ordered this mini set of laundry detergent to wash the sheets and towels. I grabbed this set last year and loved using all 3 scents. I only use a little bit with my regular detergent to give a hint of the smell. I think using a normal amount is too strong, so even this little mini set lasts a long time!
- I also grabbed this Capri Blue diffuser so their room would smell wonderful all weekend long!
Also, Early Prime Day deals are already starting to happen, y’all!
Click HERE for a whole host of items that are 15% OFF today!
I’m partnering up with HSN and ShopStyle Collective again today (sponsored) to let y’all know about your last chance for one of their special promos! The Benefit Mascara and Bag promo only has a couple of more days left!
This mascara is AWESOME. I love the “hook n roll” brush design because it helps to separate, lift, and curl my lashes. I gently wiggle the wand from the base to the tip of my lashes, and this mascara has an instant curve-setting formula. I really do believe it helps to curl my lashes. In addition to the mascara, you’ll also get the pink tie dye cotton makeup bag with this deal. I don’t have the pink bag, but I already owned the mascara, so I wanted to share it with y’all.
This is with the mascara and no primer. Pretty dramatic!
If you follow me on ig, you might have seen my stories on the night that I took the below picture. On Saturday morning, I put eye makeup on just one eye to show you the difference with and without the mascara. I took the below pic, and then I went about my day. I ran to the grocery store, I did stuff around the house for the majority of the day, and then I left to go grab Chinese food on Saturday evening. When I looked in the mirror when I was in the car, I about died. I never bothered to put the liner or mascara on the other. #oopsie (I’ll repost these stories later today because it’s hysterical to see.)
I think we can agree that the mascara is awesome.
That’s all for today, y’all! Make sure you link up and let us know what is going on with you!
