Today’s post is ALL ABOUT BEAUTY!
But here’s the surprise, we’re not talking makeup.
I’ve had a lot of fun lately doing makeup posts (like the Fall Beauty Refresh post with Nordstrom back at the end of September), so I’m excited to switch my focus today to products that are helping me take care of my face and lips.
Tula skin reviving treatment pads / Tula eye brightener / Facial Radiance dark spot serum /lash enhancing serum /primer pencil /
lip scrub /serum lip gloss /rose quartz facial roller /sleeping night oil / hydrating lip balm /
In preparation for today’s post, I read TONS of online reviews when I was trying to figure out what products I wanted to order and review for y’all. I would type things into the search bar like “dark spots” or “dry skin”, product pages would populate based on my search criteria, and then I would scan the page for products with a high percentage of 5 star reviews. I would click on the products with high ratings, and then I would pour over all of the reviews.
There are a couple of products that I didn’t love (that didn’t make the post), but you’ll see all the other items below. I attribute my high success rate with the products to the fact that I only ordered products that already had overwhelmingly glowing ratings. People are serious about beauty reviews that they leave, and I love it. They are so helpful!
Just like their reviews were helpful to me, I hope that my reviews on today’s post are helpful to all of you.

WAKE UP YOUR FACE
Below you will see a handful of products that I believe are helping me “wake up” and brighten my face!
1. Tula skin reviving treatment pads / 2. Tula eye brightener / 3. rose quartz facial roller /4. sleeping night oil / 5. Facial Radiance dark spot serum
Tula skin reviving treatment pads /
I ordered these treatment pads years ago when they were first released on the Tula site, and I LOVED them. I have no idea why I didn’t order them again back then, my only explanation is that because I wasn’t ordering anything else from TULA, it was just too much of a hassle and then I just forgot about them. WELL. Now that they are on the Nordstrom site, they are readily available to all of us, AND I AM PUMPED.
If you don’t have a good exfoliation step in your weekly skin care routine, you definitely need to add one, especially if you are over 30. I tell ya, we need all the help with skin cell turnover that we can get! Haha! These treatment pads “provide both chemical and physical exfoliation without any of the downtime”. I MEAN! And a total bonus is that they are individually packaged so they are a breeze to travel with.
Also of importance is that these pads are very gentle. I have fairly sensitive skin, and I don’t experience ANY stinging or redness after using these pads. None at all.
HOW TO: Apply on clean skin 2–3 times per week. Put your fingers in the pad and rub the white side all of your face. All of the plant fibers and extracts will be on your face, and then you flip the pad and rub the other side all over your face (in circular motions) for 1-2 minutes. I splash my face with warm water and wipe off the excess product with a rag.
After you rinse the product off and your face fully dries, you won’t believe how soft and clean your face feels. My face also feels quite a bit tighter after using these pads.

I’ve actually been using this product for several months now and really enjoy it. I got it awhile ago, and then misplaced it, but I’ve been using it nonstop after finding it again. It glides on very easily and has a wonderful cooling effect on my eyes. I don’t really deal with dark circles (which many say it helps tremendously), but I use it every morning and I do feel like it brightens my eyes and wakes up my face. It gives a really nice sheen and just a healthy little glow. I sweep it on under my eyes, on my brow bone, and even sometimes on my cheekbones.
HOW TO: After you moisturize, apply around the entire eye and on the orbital bone for a brighter appearance. You can even use it as a highlighter on your cheekbones, cupid’s bow, nose or anywhere else you want a glow effect. Due to the unique balm texture of this product, you can reapply throughout the day to energize and brighten the eye area.
I’m super late to the face rolling game, but I’m happy to finally be participating in this trend. I’ve been using this for a couple of months now, and I’m seriously kicking myself for just recently adding it into my routine. First of all, it feels SO GOOD. Second of all, it truly does reduce puffiness. I’m told that over time I’ll also notice a difference in increased firmness and tone in my face.
If you are wary to try this exact one because some of the reviews that say theirs broke, I can tell you that I’ve dropped mine 2 times on my tiled bathroom floor, and it’s still in great condition. You can also click HERE for another option. It’s more expensive, but has near perfect reviews.
HOW TO: To use, begin by applying your favorite serum, oil, moisturizer or mask. Then, starting on your chin, work from the center of the face outward and upward on the cheeks, toward the collarbone and working outward toward the sides of your neck. Roll the crystal facial roller starting from the center of your neck, upward and outward. Continue for each section of your face. On your eyes, using the small roller, worker the lids and undereye area. Continue rolling strips from the corner of the eye to the ear with the small roller. You can also use this roller for targeted rolling on your forehead, nose, lips and chin. Use on clean skin daily for 3–5 minutes.
rose quartz facial roller / Luna sleeping night oil
Every winter I deal with dry skin, but this year it’s been on another level. I don’t necessarily think that it’s been colder or dryer, so I guess I attribute the new difficulties to aging skin. SIGH. And the normal things that I used to do to help combat the issue in previous years were no longer working. DOUBLE SIGH.
Luckily, one night when my skin was so dry it was starting to flake on my inner cheeks (close to my nose), I remembered receiving a sample of this night oil. I busted it out, LOVED how it felt and absorbed into my skin, and was seriously amazed at my moisturized and supple skin the next morning. The texture was noticeably different after just one night. I was a little worried because I’ve tried other face oils that have proved too much for my skin and have resulted in small breakouts, but this one has given me nothing but positive results. A little goes a long away, so I’ve been using the sample size for 3 weeks or so, but the full size bottle arrives tomorrow. I’m a huge believer in this product.
HOW TO: Apply to clean skin to areas that you feel need extra moisture. You’ll see that the product goes from blue to clear after it has been adequately massaged into the skin. Important: Due to the presence of retinoids, do not use during pregnancy.
I also use a thin layer sometimes before using the facial roller.
Facial Radiance dark spot serum /
I’ve shared several times in the past that dark spots are a real issue for me on my face. At my age, my wrinkles and fine lines are manageable, but the dark spots are a constant battle that make me very self-conscious.
HOW TO: Use twice daily, morning and night after cleansing skin. Apply 3–4 drops to your fingertips and spread over problem areas or your entire face. Follow with moisturizer. During the day, be sure to follow with an SPF as well.
As is the case with any products that target dark spots, consistent and extended use are absolutely key. I’ve only been using this product about 3 weeks, but based on reviews, I’m very hopeful. I’ve tried several products in the past, but I’ve never used the products both morning and night, so I was excited when this product suggesting a.m. and p.m. use. Seriously, go read the reviews. There are only 15, but they are all VERY positive.

YEAR ROUND LIP CARE
I’ve never really had trouble with dry lips, but I am obsessed with keeping it that way. The handful of times I have dealt with dry lips have made me vigilant because dry lips are unsightly and painful. These next 4 products are awesome.
1. lip scrub / 2. hydrating lip balm / 3. primer pencil / 4. serum lip gloss
As mentioned, if you know me, you know I’m obsessed with keeping my lips moisturized. I HAVE to wear a lip mask to bed at night (seriously can’t go to sleep without it), and now I’ve kicked things up another notch by using this lip scrub a couple of times a week before bed. I don’t deal with overly chapped or dry lips, but I still love using it. And I hear this scrub is a serious game changer for those who truly struggle with dry lips.
HOW TO: Take a very small amount and massage it into your lips using small circular motions and then wipe off with a tissue.
BONUS: It smells heavenly and tastes delicious. (Disclaimer: I don’t eat the scrub, but the taste is pleasant. Haha!)
I have a night lip mask I love that I talk about all the time, but many of you have asked me for an option that you can get at Nordstrom. This lip balm smells great (I have the peach) and a little goes a long way. Use it every night right before bed and also swipe it on when at home during the day.
lip scrub / hydrating lip balm
I would say this is the most random find of the post, but I’m very excited about it! In the past, I’ve seen what primer can do for my face and my eyelids, so I thought why not try it for my lips too.
Reviews also described how it could be used for correcting makeup mistakes, and I was intrigued.
HOW TO: If using as a lipstick primer, outline your lips to prevent feathering then swipe it across your lips to grab onto your lip color and help it last. Follow with your lipstick or a gloss. Finish by cleaning up the edges with Ultimate Ozone so the lines are sharp and perfect. To fill in lines or clean up makeup mess-ups (like mascara that has missed the mark), just swipe on Ultimate Ozone.
So, I love using it for both my lips and for correcting makeup mistakes, specifically mascara mistakes. You know, the ones where you bling right after you apply mascara or heaven forbid sneeze.
IMPORTANT UPDATE: I’m so sad, but I have an update. After writing the review and finishing this post, I continued to use it, and then just yesterday it broke! When applying it to my lips, the entire thick tip completely broke off. The actual product is pretty soft, so I can definitely see how this could be a consistent problem. I’m totally bummed because I really loved the results the product gave. (When I went to read the reviews again to see if anybody else had experienced this issue, the last review left had the exact same thing happen. Boo.) I would have just taken it off the post, but I had already photographed it and included it in the flat lays, so an update seemed more appropriate.
So this lip gloss isn’t sticky or tacky at all. It doesn’t feel like a typical lip gloss, because get this…. it’s infused with collagen, hyaluronic acid and a tri-oil complex! The ingredient combination provides you with the hydration and benefits of a lip balm, while having the sheer tint of a gloss. And it doesn’t settle into fine lines or lip wrinkles.
I’ve found this to be the perfect products to give some color to my lips while at home all the time, but it feels like I’m putting on balm instead of lip gloss. It’s awesome. And it feels great on!
primer pencil / serum lip gloss

And last but certainly not least, let’s talk about the Neulash lash enhancing serum. This is not the first time I’ve talked about this product, but I finally started to use it consistently and I finally started to see results. My sister uses it and absolutely swears by it. She’s used it off and on for years and her lashes are insanely long.
Here’s the thing, if you want to see results, you have to use it religiously every single night. After consistent use, I started noticing a difference right at about 2 weeks. My sister says she thinks she started using it back in 2017 or 2018 and the results for her when she first started using it were seriously dramatic. She stopped using it after awhile but noticed a difference in length, so she started using it again nightly.
HOW TO: Sweep the product onto the base of your upper lash line at night before bed.
I haven’t ever had any problem with sensitivity, so if I happen to forget it at night, I just use it in the morning instead.
Oh and get this, you can use on your eyebrows too! I started it on my eyebrows late last week on the sparse areas that I’ve been filling in with the Bobbi Brown Perfectly Defined Brow Pencil (that I LOVE). I hope that very soon my sparse areas will be lessened.
So what do you think?
Did you get excited about adding a product or two to your bag of tricks? Or maybe there are some other products that you think I need to know about! If so, please sound off in the comments.

I love that Tula stick and have been using it since they first came out with it. I need to try those Tula pads! I love that they carry Tula at Nordstrom now.
Dianna says
What is the difference in use or effectiveness of a jade roller versus rose quartz?
Sheaffer says
Hi, Dianna! That’s a great question, but I didn’t know the answer. I went to Google and found this: Rose quartz stays cool whereas jade is adaptive in nature and tends to warm with skin contact. Rose quartz is better known for its wrinkle-reducing benefits. Because jade is a soft stone and can encounter wear and tear with repeated use, a rose quartz roller may last you longer. Hope this helps! xoxo

I’m thinking I need to try the Tula eye brightener & the pads. I’ve never tried any Tula products, but always hear great things about them. What color do you have in that serum lip gloss???
Sheaffer says
I’m wearing “wistful”, but I actually wish it had a little more color than it does. Hope this helps! xoxo
