Happy Wednesday! It’s time for everybody to join up today with Shay and me and let us know WHAT’S UP this fine Wednesday!
WHAT WE ARE EATING
Today I thought I would just show you a highlight reel of a handful of yummy things I’ve eaten lately…
We had an HEB open in McKinney last week, and when I went, I took advantage of the BOGO pimento cheese deal. BECAUSE DUH.
And I put some on a burger. BECAUSE DUH. Also, I’m obsessed with Alexia onion rings and crinkle cut sweet potato fries.
On Friday I was gone almost the entire day doing errands. When I was about to leave the mall around 1:00 and realized I wouldn’t be home for several more hours, I knew I needed to grab something. I saw this lemon chicken pasta salad box at the Nordstrom E Bar and decided to give it a try. Verdict: it was delicious. I just ate it in my car before heading to the next stop on my TO DO list and I enjoyed every single bite. I’ll be getting this again for sure.
In my Walmart+ order this week I tried the prepared pico de gallo for the first time. Y’ALL. It’s sooooooooooooo good. It was extra yummy on my breakfast taco earlier this week.
WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT
My favorite eye cream is BACK IN STOCK! And it’s ON SALE! Y’all, DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS DEAL!
Use the code 25JULY for 25% OFF on this and any other product you might need to try or restock.
It’s the Colleen Rothschild Illuminating Tinted Eye Cream.
This was my personal #1 find when I first used it back in March, and it’s actually in my Top 3 finds for the entire year! It was in y’alls Top 5 for 2 months in a row as well. It’s an incredible product.
It makes my under-eye area appear brighter, more radiant, and more youthful. TRULY! The formula specifically targets common concerns of tiered and dull eyes, such as under-eye darkness, fine lines, dryness, and puffiness.
Here’s what’s in it and what it does:
- Hyaluronic acid: helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles.
- Caffeine: targets puffiness and water retention.
- Pearlized pigments provide an instant brightening effect and create a radiant, glowing appearance.
- Peach coloring pigments neutralize blue undertones, helping to balance out skin tone and create a more even appearance.
- Peptites help smooth texture.
It’s really hard to capture how awesome the eye cream is in a picture, so you’re going to need to trust me. You can use it on its own on a fresh-faced day, but it also functions beautifully under makeup. I’m telling you, this eye cream is going to WOW you.
And just FYI: I don’t like concealer and never use it, but I think this eye cream not only does the job of an eye cream, but it also functions a bit like a concealer does… but it doesn’t settle into lines or crepiness (which is why I don’t like or wear concealer).
I obviously highly recommend this product. Like I said before, IT WILL WOW YOU.
Don’t forget to use the code 25JULY for 25% OFF!
And if you need to restock anything or if you’ve been wanting to try a product you never have, the code 25JULY works on the entire site right now!!!
WHAT I’M LOVING
What am I loving? UNDIES AND SERVING PIECES. Thank you for asking. 😉
Sooooooo. I realize “undies and serving pieces” don’t typically go together :), but in this case they are related.
I ordered both the undies and the serving pieces from the NSale, and they all arrived this week. And they are all still available!
GET THESE UNDIES. Get them now. Please. I beg you. Just try them. They truly are MUST HAVES. If you’ve already been converted to these undies, then I know you stock up every year during the sale! Most people that try these end up slowly replacing all of their undies with these babies. I already have TONS, but I added three more to my collection this year.
This cake plate is GORGEOUS. It’s VERY heavy and totally sturdy. I do think it’s more suited towards a decorative piece than an actual serving piece, but I’m so happy to have it.
I don’t know what it is about wooden bowls, but I love them. This one is really big and very pretty.
Speaking of big and pretty, check out this serving board! It’s a huge piece and a ton of bang for your buck. It of course looks great left out as decor in your kitchen, but it will also be an awesome base for one heck of a charcuterie board.
WHAT I’M WORKING ON
Today I’m going to be working on getting all my instastory slides ready for Friday when I’m going to share my monthly pitch for Walmart+. Because as I’ve said before, it’s become one of my missions in life to get everybody to try the Walmart+ membership. #seriously
If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times, the grocery delivery service HAS CHANGED MY LIFE.
Now listen, I understand that it’s kind of a big deal to sign up for a membership, but I’ve found that it is one thousand percent worth it. Click HERE for a previous post where I outline all of the benefits. Click HERE if you are ready to sign up for yourself! When talking about the membership this month, I’ll also be sharing how I like to make tacos for a group, so get ready. 😉
These are 3 items I grabbed for taco night that I LOVE.
Since most of the above items are currently sold out, look at this option I found on Amazon! It’s SO FREAKING CUTE! Those narrow spoons are PERFECT for adding toppings to tacos. GENIUS.
WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO
We were at the ranch with friends at the beginning of July, and even though it was stupid hot, it was stupid fun too! We always have fun at the ranch, but this last time felt extra special for some reason.
Nothing better than a cornhole tournament under the twinkle lights and stars.
Big Daddy made ice cream, and Carter is a big fan of Big Daddy’s homemade ice cream.
The mamas even got to sneak away for a bit and we headed to Waco to do a quick run through Magnolia and do lunch at Magnolia Table.
Another great little ranch trip for the books!
WHAT WE’RE WATCHING
Our tv watching is kind of all over the place these days, and we haven’t really been watching anything that we are absolutely loving.
However, over the weekend we watched Remember The Titans as a family. SUCH A GOOD MOVIE that I think people forget about!
WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT
Summer is coming to an end, and I could bawl about it.
Carter and his buddies have been doing a lot of fishing recently, and I’m going to be sad when summer nights of fishing are replaced by homework. 🙁
Speaking of bawling, this popped up on my phone earlier this week. Who is this blonde headed baby?
WHAT I’M WEARING
This batik dress is super special. The colors and the pattern are so unique (I’ve always loved pink and red together), and the fit is fabulous. The top is smocked and super stretchy, the spaghetti straps are adjustable, and it has pockets! I’m not wearing a bra in this picture, but when wearing it out, I will definitely throw on the very best strapless in the entire world (that is currently in the Nordstrom Sale)!
I’ve worn this dress several times already and I’ve received countless compliments on it.
The dress is simple, classic, flattering, and comfy as all get out. Featuring a shirred bodice and voluminous puff sleeves, this pretty midi dress is made of lightweight cotton dobby. It’s effortlessly put-together—and yes, it has pockets, too. For size reference, I’m wearing a 6. Per the reviews, people seem to either love it or hate it. I happen to love it.
I’m wearing it dress on the left with a clutch and heeled sandals, and more casually on the right with a tote and flat sandals.
The striped top is better than just a regular tee (and it better be, because it’s $49). It’s like a fine gauge knit, and it is incredibly soft. The fit is super relaxed, and I just love it on. For size reference, I’m wearing a small. If between sizes, I would suggest sizing down.
The knit drawstring pants are kind of like a fancy jogger. They zip and they have a button like a regular pair of pants, but they are soft and comfy like a jogger, and they have the jogger styling with the tie at the waist. For size reference, I’m wearing a small. If between sizes, I would suggest sizing up.
I’m guessing y’all know by now that I’ll buy pretty much anything that’s a pink and red floral combo. What can I say, IT SPEAKS TO ME. This top has a very similar shape as the top above, but a silkier texture, so it leans a bit dressier. Even so, I love dressing it down with distressed denim shorts. It will look absolutely amazing with white boot cut jeans and wedges. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium. Use code STMT10 for 10% OFF both the blouse and the denim shorts.
A simple t-shirt dress, but make it long! This is the “coral rose” and it’s such a fun and unexpected color combination. It also comes in a classic black and white stripe, a heathered turquoise, and a heathered lavender. For size reference, I’m wearing a small.
If you’re looking for something special that’s beautifully made and makes you feel like a million bucks, then have I got a dress for you! It’s got a hefty price tag, but I love it oh so much.
It’s a 100% cotton poplin with a floral print, ruffle skirt, split v neck, and long sleeves with elastic cuffs. It also has a wonderful fabric belt that you can either knot or tie in a bow. There’s a button keyhole in the back, and it has a full cotton slip that comes with it. The color combo is like a deep cranberry red with a soft lilac. It’s an absolutely gorgeous and totally striking color combo. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium, but I think I would be fine in a small.
This dress is 100% cotton, has short flutter sleeves, and a tiered bodice. The fit is a bit swingy and totally perfect. This is the “soft papaya”, but it comes in 10 total color choices. This is a dress that I think some of you will order in multiples. Listen, no judgement here. It’s on sale for only $10.98. So really, getting more than 1 makes sense. It’s just good math. 😉
For size reference, I’m wearing a small. And just fyi, it has EXCELLENT reviews.
Here I am wearing it just this week when filming the taco insastories I mentioned above!
I don’t know about you, but I slip into a little lounge set just about every night. Here are some good ones…
A really great lounge set is hard to pass up, and this is a really great lounge set. I would describe this material as a heavy waffle knit. I wouldn’t personally wear it out, but it’s absolutely perfect for lounging around the house, being super comfy, and still looking cute! For size reference, I’m wearing a small.
This cute little short pajama set reminds me very much of my Cool Night’s Soma sets that I have, but this set is much more affordable. One of the reviews even says “soft as baby clothes” and I’d have to agree! SERIOUSLY SO SOFT. I love the little black dots and the pink piping on this set, but there are so many colors and patterns to choose from. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
This set is a super cute henley tee, the entire set is quite soft, and the shorts are flattering! I sleep hot, but I stay cool in these. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
SOME NORDSTROM FINDS
I’ve shown these next two dresses in mirror selfies before, but I thought they deserved another highlight!
I know lots of y’all know and love the CeCe brand, especially for dresses, and this floral dress is a great one. It’s sweet, girly, and feminine. Dress it up with wedges or dress it down with sneakers. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
Do y’all remember how I shared a couple of weeks ago that Nordstrom has a “Family Moments” line? This long floral dress is part of the line, which means there are coordinating items for your family. This dress has a very feminine cut and a beautiful floral pattern. It’s fitted at the top with a smocked back, which makes it very comfortable. The sleeves have a subtle ruffle, and there’s a ruffle at the waist too. The skirt is long and flowy. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
This bracelet stack is one of my very favorite finds of the year.
Okay, that’s all for today!
