***********
Today’s post is quite a bit different than most of the posts I do around here, but what isn’t different is my excitement level for what I’m about to share with y’all.
Today I’m not talking about any particular item, rather I’m talking about a membership.
And not just any membership…but a membership that has been saving me time, saving me money, and most importantly SAVING MY SANITY for almost 2 years.
So….what is this magical membership you ask?
It’s WALMART+.
And it’s awesome.
I’m going to talk about all the reasons it’s awesome today, but I’m really go to highlight their FREE GROCERY DELIVERY (with a $35 minimum, restrictions apply). Because it’s changed my life. And I’m not even being dramatic. 🙂
Let’s Start With The Basics…WHAT IS WALMART+
Walmart+ is the ultimate savings membership that you simply cannot afford to miss out on! LADIES, you know I don’t throw this term around lightly, but I think it’s a MUST HAVE!
I’m going to walk you through everything you need to know in a minute including fee information and HOW TO shop, but here are the quick basics (in bullet point format to make it easy to read).

I mean! That’s A TON of benefits, ladies!
But even though there are SEVERAL benefits to a Walmart+ membership (seen in the bullet points above), IT’S THE FREE GROCERY DELIVERY that puts the biggest smile on my face.
Walmart+ allows me to easily shop and get my groceries delivered to me FOR FREE without ever leaving the comfort of my home. It’s such a time saver!
There are both monthly and yearly membership options, but after signing up for the free trial almost 2 years ago now, I immediately signed up for the year. And you can bet your Honeycrisp apples I’m going to renew it every single year until the day I die. 🙂
With my yearly membership, I enjoy benefits of free 2-day shipping on most Walmart.com orders (with no minimum order, excludes most Marketplace items, location & freight surcharges.), free same-day grocery delivery for most orders (this was the game changer for me!), and fuel discounts.
SIGN. ME. UP.
Thanks to Walmart+, dreaded in-store shopping can now be a thing of the past!
Over the last 2 years, Walmart+ has made my life so much easier, AND IT CAN DO THE SAME FOR YOU!
FYI, my outfit is from Walmart too and I flipping love it! This lounge set has near perfect reviews, and it’s ONLY $25.98 for the 2-piece set. It’s a perfect little set to have you feeling both comfortable and stylish. The button up cardigan and the wide leg pants are both incredibly soft and they obviously look great together, but you could also mix and match the separate pieces with other items in your closet.
For size reference, I’m wearing a small.
So here’s what the process looks like for GROCERY DELIVERY…
You can order off of your computer, but I recommend downloading the Walmart app to your phone because you’ll find that the app will make things incredibly easy. And don’t worry, it’s free!
Hit “Start” and then choose “Pickup and Delivery.” Next, you will click “Reserve a Time” and you will be taken to a screen that looks like this. I most often schedule my order the day before, but I’ve also used SAME DAY DELIVERY at least 15 times, and it’s always been available.
Then you just start shopping!
One way to shop is to search by item by typing the item in the search bar that you are looking for. You can see here that I wrote “corn” and it populated 188 items including fresh corn, canned corn, and frozen corn. When you find the item you want, you click the “add” button, and from there you decide the quantity.
The day I placed this order, I realized I didn’t have the fresh corn we needed for the shrimp boil we had planned to cook for dinner that night. I had a super busy day of tons of computer work at home, and I really didn’t want to have to stop to get out to go to the store, so delivery was perfect. I of course ended up adding on some other items to my order so I could get to the $35 order minimum which was super easy, AND 4 HOURS LATER I HAD FRESH CORN (among other things) on my front porch. #thankyouWalmart
HOT TIP: The first time you shop, make sure that you start favoriting items while shopping by clicking the little hearts. If you find that you get fresh corn every couple of weeks, favorite the item, and then you won’t have to search for it again. For future orders you can go to your favorites folder and quickly pick your faves that you find yourself ordering again and again. Basically, the first couple of times you place your order will take you longer than subsequent orders because Walmart will help streamline the process for you as it gets to know your shopping habits. GENIUS.
Another way to shop is to Browse by Department. In addition to the standard categories (ex. “meats and seafood”, “fruits and veggies”, “eggs and dairy”), they also have helpful specialty categories like “Special Diets”, “Game Time”, “Easily Family Meals”, and “Last Minute Grabs”. SO HELPFUL!
And check out this handy dandy little feature! After I placed my order, I got a text about an hour and a half later with possible substitutions. (When signing up, I had checked a box saying I did allow substitutions.) I had ordered Frozen Yogurt, but since it was out, they were offering to replace my frozen yogurt with the same flavor of ice cream. I was so happy that I had the opportunity to decline the substitution and wasn’t just stuck with the ice cream, which we wouldn’t have eaten.
I didn’t have to log on to my computer or answer a phone call, I simply clicked a link that was sent in the text message and declined the substitution right there from my phone.
AGAIN, GENIUS.
And how cool is this…
Even after an order has been placed and submitted, there’s still a window where you can add items for a certain amount of time. On this particular day, I had placed the order on Sunday evening for Monday morning delivery. After we got in bed at like 10:00, we decided that we wanted to have taco salad on Monday night, but I knew we were running low on shredded cheese. So I grabbed my phone, opened the app, and added several things we needed without any trouble.
I do think it’s important to talk about the fact that there is a place where you can leave an optional tip for the driver.
I like to think of the membership fee being what pays the person at Walmart to do my grocery shopping for me, and the tip is paying the driver to hand deliver the groceries to my front door. For this order, I had several large items including a case of water, a case of Dr. Pepper, toilet paper, paper towels, and a HUGE bag of dog food. It was so nice not to have to have a cart filled up with those large items and push them through the store. And it was even nicer to have them just waiting for me on my porch. The driver definitely deserved a tip for his work, and I was happy to give it to him!
This was actually a pretty small order for us, but I was able to grab everything I needed for lunches for the week as well as a couple of dinners.
I tell ya what, not having to go to the grocery store every week puts a big ol’ smile on my face.
I know this will sound crazy to some of you, but I’d only done grocery pick up 2x in my life. For some reason, I always had the feeling that if I was going to be driving to the store anyway, I might as well just get out of the car and hand pick exactly what I wanted. WELL. Now that my groceries are literally being dropped at my front step, THE GROCERY GAME HAS BEEN CHANGED FOREVER for me. And I’m all sorts of grateful.
I mean, do I still go to a grocery store on occasion? OF COURSE! When picking out steaks or salmon (two things we love to eat), I’ll often still pop in the store. But I’m always pleased with the produce that’s been delivered, so I’m not even scared about that anymore!
I promise you that I’m not even being dramatic when I say this membership has changed my life.
And just for fun, I thought I would share a recipe today too.
When placing this particular grocery order, I decided to grab items to make Shay’s King Ranch Soup. And I should say, it was SO EASY to have the recipe pulled up on my computer so I could quickly glance at the ingredients list and easily add the needed items to my virtual cart. It was SO MUCH easier than searching for items that aren’t normally on my list at a store and having to seek out what aisle they are on.
I picked this soup because she had directions for making it in a crock pot…
AND I RECENTLY BOUGHT THIS CROCK POT! Isn’t she a beaut!
This crock pot is LEGIT. And it’s pretty too!
- Large 6qt capacity, serves up to 7 people
- 5 preset slow cooking functions – Meat, Poultry, Stew, Soup and Chili
- Integrated flat screen design control panel
- Automatically switches to keep warm function
- Dishwasher safe, removable cooking pot and tempered glass lid for easy cleaning
- Programmable digital countdown timer from 30 minutes up to 20 hours
- Removable ceramic pot for easy serving and cleaning
- Stainless Steel lid rest for easy handling while serving
- Cool-touch handles for easy portability
- Shatter-resistant, tempered glass lid
And do you want to see the best feature of this crock pot? Look at the handy dandy little lid rest! I love that I can easily stash the lid out of the way while serving.
I’m sad to report that this color is sold out, but it is still available in a really pretty “white icing”, and it’s $20 OFF right now, making this gem right under $50! What an incredible deal!
And the reviews on Shay’s King Ranch Soup? IT WAS DELICIOUS! The only thing I did differently was sauté an onion and a couple of bell peppers that I threw in the crock-pot. I love them in King Ranch Casserole, so I thought I would love them in the soup as well.
We were in a time crunch for dinner, so this soup was perfect! I topped it with tortilla chips, grated cheese, cilantro, more onion, and sour cream! Next time I’ll add avocado on top as well!
I hope today’s post was informative and has encouraged you to give Walmart+ a try! I’m telling you, it’s been so incredibly helpful to me and I’m SO THANKFUL that this partnership pushed me to sign up for myself a couple of years ago. I’m not sure if I would have taken the leap otherwise, and I cannot even imagine the time it’s saved me over the last couple of years.
IF YOU WANT TO SIGN UP
If you want to try it out too, click HERE to get to their membership page. As mentioned before, there’s a 30-day free trial you can easily sign up for if you’re just not sure. I love that you can test it before signing up.
Or maybe you are already convinced and want to sign up immediately! #igetthat #goodforyou
You can pay $98 for the year, or you can pay $12.95 for the month. If you sign up for the annual membership, that will save you $57.40 for the year, which is a savings of 37%. I went ahead and signed up for the full year.
#WORTHIT
A huge thank you to Walmart for sponsoring this post. AND AN EVEN BIGGER THANK YOU FOR DROPPING GROCERIES ON MY FRONT PORCH! I can tell you this, I’ll be shopping less and smiling more!

I agree, Sheaffer!! Saves me so much time AND money!
Jess says
Couldn’t agree more! Walmart+ has made me disproportionally happy. Never liked grocery delivery services but this one is so easy. And I basically recoup the monthly fee because Walmart prices are so much lower than my (much closer) grocery store.
Sheaffer says
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS, Jessica! The amount of joy it brings me when I hop on my app and place an order vs. going into a store is INSANE!!! 🙂 xoxo
Shay Shull says
That’s it. I’m trying this. It’s pretty dumb that as a working mom of four, I haven’t tried it already. You sold me!
Sheaffer says
HOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW has it taking me so long to convince you. I’m disappointed in myself.
Robin says
Delivery isn’t available from my local Walmart, but I do appreciate the free shipping and the member prices on fuel. Also, my membership
(I signed up for a free trial and forgot to cancel it, oops!) includes a subscription to Paramount+
Denise DElia says
Love Walmart+ . Its so easy and convenient. It’s been a lifesaver for traveling too! I’ve had groceries delivered to a Disney World Resort!
Sheaffer says
Oh yes! I’ve heard this from others. What a great idea!!! xoxo
Leticia says
As a mom of an away at school college student, I’ve used my membership to send soup and cold medicine to my sick kid. What a blessing!
Another benefit is Paramount+!

That’s a great idea, Leticia!!!
