WHAT WE ARE EATING
Last week we ate every single night at home, which is a big deal for us over the summer.
Monday we had pork tenderloin, roasted green beans, and smashed potatoes.
Tuesday we had grilled chicken kabobs and grilled veggies.
Wednesday we had tacos. (Remember, I add a can of ranch style beans and a can of Rotel into my taco meat. It stretches the meat and I just think it makes it yummier. Carter loves it like this too, but Chris prefers the meat by itself, so we just don’t mix his in.)
Thursday we grilled burgers.
Friday we made taco salads with the leftovers from Wednesday.
I used my The Oven Pan from Our Place’s new Ovenware Set to make the smashed potatoes on Monday, and they came out perfectly! Creamy on the inside and perfectly crispy on the outside. YUM! Remember you can use the code SHEAFFER10 for 10% OFF. Click HERE if you want to see the blog post that was dedicated to reviewing the Ovenware Set.
I also used The Oven Pan to roast tons of veggies for me to have for lunch for the week. I roasted green beans, mini peppers, carrots, squash, and zucchini. For a meal, I would put some of each into a bowl with some Trader Joe’s cauliflower gnocchi (cooked brown and crispy in the air fryer) and a little bit of grated mozzarella cheese. It’s DELICIOUS and such a healthy and nutritious lunch!
Other things I’m loving are these Very Cherry Plums. They are the size of small plums, and they taste and bit like a plum and a bit like a cherry. Yummy! I’ve found them at Trader Joe’s and at Market Street.
Okay, I’ve got a new dip for y’all! My sister brought this to the Ranch one weekend with a veggie tray and OHHHH EMMMMM GEEEEE. It’s amazing. I want to slather it on everything, but I especially love it with mini orange and yellow peppers, cherry tomatoes, and cucumbers.
And because I can’t seem to stop using The Oven Pan, it also bakes perfect cookies.

WHAT I’M LOVING
Y’all know I love finding and posting graphic tees for all types of seasons and events. I’ve done posts on them for spring and summer, fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
With the start of school right around the corner, I thought it would be fun to find some for all of the teachers heading back to school.
HOW CUTE ARE THESE TEES!!!! They’d be great all year long, but I’m thinking they will be especially perfect for the first week of school. I love #8 so much. It says “In this class, we are family.” How sweet is that!
Which one is your favorite?
All of these tees are great on their own, but they’d also be awesome with a denim jacket, cardigan, or military jacket layered on top. They can all of course be styled with regular denim, white denim, and black denim. I think they’d also look great tied up on the side with a maxi skirt.
1) book tee / 2) TEACHER tee / 3) It’s a Good Day to Teach Tiny Humans tee / 4) Radiate Positivity tee / 5) Be Kind tee / 6) Cool Kids tee / 7) Reading Is Lit tee / 8) In This Class We Are Family tee / 9) Kindness heart tee / 10) READ tee / 11) Teaching Future Leaders tee / 12) Coffee, Teach, Repeat tee
I posted this bag on facebook earlier this week. I was posting it because I had found it online and was excited about sharing it, but I didn’t have a review just yet because I hadn’t received it. Well, it arrived on Monday! I thought it looked awesome, but I had the idea for a teacher to do an authentic review for it, so I called a friend. #iphonedafriend
I asked Keely (one of my besties and my neighbor) to check it out and give us all of her thoughts! Keely teaches at MCA and she had to run up to school yesterday, so she packed the bag up and took it on its first field trip to school. 🙂
Spoiler Alert: SHE LOVES IT!
And come on, HOW CUTE IS KEELY. (Yep, she’s wearing the Walmart dress too.)
I asked her to text me her review, and here’s what she had to say:
This is the BAG of all Trades! It’s so versatile and as a mom of three and a teacher, I need 1 great go-to bag to help me keep everything in its place. All of my things fit perfectly in this bag, and I’m excited to be starting school with it! I even have enough room to slide my lunchbox in. The two side compartments allow me to carry my water cup and my travel coffee mug. Bonus!! Who has time to juggle all the drinks, keys, badge and laptop? I don’t! The zip pockets in front hold all the important pens I need for grading papers at home and lesson planning. I use the second front pocket for my sunglasses and sunscreen for recess duty. 😎 And the built-in laptop sleeve is awesome and so convenient. Oh, and the inside and outside are both waterproof, so it could also be used as a diaper bag or a beach bag. Love love this bag!
I was so happy to learn that Keely said it is SUPER FUNCTIONAL and that she loves it!
I love how there’s a place for drinks on the left and the right. That’s Keely’s water cup on one side and her coffee on the other.
You can see inside how she has room for her laptop (it’s in the built-in laptop sleeve!), her calendar, and there’s still plenty of room for a couple of binders or a pile of folders. There are two deep internal pockets on each side as well.
Here you can see the built-in laptop sleeve as well as all of the internal pockets. This bag will keep you so organized!
The front pockets are so functional. And look how sturdy the handle is!
Her left front pocket holds her Glow Screen and sunglasses. She’s ready for recess duty!
The flap pocket on the right holds pens, markers, pencils, highlighters, whatever! And look how the front portion of the front pocket is a perfect place to stash charging blocks and cables, airpods, and other things like that.
Keely also had room for a book and a little place to stash some of the oils she uses in her diffuser in her classroom.
There’s even an exterior pocket that extends the length of the tote. It’s a perfect place to keep a folder or papers that you need easy access to. And I showed you how Keely uses the side pockets for water and coffee, but one of the side pockets is also a great place for an umbrella!
This bag is seriously fabulous.
I mean, this is a really a great tote for anybody, but it truly does seem to be perfect for teachers.

WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO
We went to the Ranch at the beginning of July for The Sims family reunion. We had a wonderful time with everybody, but I really dropped the ball on taking pictures.
I did grab this of the sunset one night.
Before we went to the reunion, Chris’s sister’s family stayed with us for a couple of days. One day we picked up Brody (my other nephew) and took the boys to Urban Air. They had a great time.

WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT
Kendra Scott is having a Summer Spectacular Sale! You can buy more save more with an extra 20% off 2 items, and extra 30% off 3 items, and extra 40% off 4 tiems, and an extra 50% off of 5 items. WOW!
Click HERE to scroll through all of the items included in the sale. There are lots of items pieces that t I own and love. And remember, BUY MORE SAVE MORE!
For those of you that LOVE AND ADORE the Risen jeans from Social Threads, the white ones are 20% OFF for TODAY ONLY!
Now listen, if you have the regular denim Risen jeans, you need to get the white ones IN A SIZE UP. It is strongly recommended to SIZE UP from your Risen jean size because the white ones aren’t as stretchy. If you don’t have the regular Risen jeans, but you’re interested in these, just get your regular size because most people size down in the Risen jeans. (Now, just to complicate things further… I actually don’t size down in the regular Risen jeans. My tummy is my problem area, and I get my regular size, so I would size up 1 in these from my regular size.) #ihopeallofthatisasclearasmud 🙂

WHAT I’M WORKING ON
There are lots of fun projects in the works, but you’ll have to stay tuned for all the details! Personally, I’m really excited about a Target Haul I have that’s coming up next week!

WHAT I’M LISTENING TO
Country music is playing in the background as I’m working on this post. I know people either tend to love or hate Country music, but I happen to love it. In fact, if I had to pick 1 type of music to listen to for the rest of my life, it would be country music. Old country, nineties country, current country, I love it all.
Please tell me at least some of y’all are country music lovers too!

WHAT I’M WATCHING
Well, I’m sad to report that we finished Yellowstone, and my goodness we miss it now! We’ve started a couple of other shows, but we haven’t loved them. If you have any suggestions for me, leave them in the comments!

WHAT I’M WEARING
I had a Madewell dress and an Anthropologie dress to show you today, but I just went to grab the links and they are both sold out. I’m SO sad because I love both dresses. I had a Nordstrom shirt to highlight as well, but it’s gone too!
So… today’s WHAT I’M WEARING section is going to be quite a bit shorter than it was originally supposed to be. Still, I have a handful of items to share. And everything I’m sharing today is SUPER affordable!
On Monday’s Walmart post I highlighted lots of back-to-school outfits for Carter, but I also hopped in a couple of pictures with the dress you see below. It’s 100% cotton and just a perfect little dress. The subtle tulip sleeves are so pretty, and the tiers are casual summer perfection. I have pink, black, and olive.
For size reference, I’m wearing a medium. If I had a smaller chest, a small would work because the rest of the sizing is generous, but I need the room up top.
The sandals are AWESOME and ON SALE! I suggest sizing up a 1/2!
tiered t-shirt dress / pink hoop earrings / similar necklace / neutral sandals
Here’s the same dress, styled for early fall with the addition of a denim jacket. This is a great little denim jacket I’ve shown at least 10-15x from Amazon. It’s stretchy, comfy, and awesome. I’m wearing a medium.
tiered t-shirt dress /denim jacket (A Azure Mood) / neutral sandals
When shopping for Carter for his post, I also found this sweatshirt for me. It’s under $12, y’all.
It’s pretty lightweight and soft, but it doesn’t have the fuzzy and super comfy fleece that lots of sweatshirts have, so it’s not super warm. It’s perfectly for early fall. It’s also perfect for super hot summer days when we have the air cranked down in the house. #orsoiveheard
It comes in 15 total colors. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium. It’s a super relaxed fit, but it’s not long enough for leggings for me. I think I could size up to large to make it long enough, but then I think the arms would be way too long.
It is my firm belief that one can never have too many lounge sets, this one from Amazon is a great one, and I’ve been wearing it on repeat.
This set is soft, lightweight, and cozy. I like a loose fit with my pajamas, and I like how the medium fits in this set. It comes in 9 color options. I’m wearing the beige here.

WHAT ARE MY RECENT AMAZON PURCHASES
Okay, so as I said earlier in today’s post, I’m gearing up to do a mini AMAZON TEACHER HAUL next week! I placed lots of orders in preparation for that post, so I’m going to give you a sneak preview of some of those orders as well as share a handful of things I’ve ordered for my home and family.
- We are having a new couch delivered for our family room on Friday, so it’s of course inspired me to do a little overhaul with the rest of the room. Our sofa table behind the couch has tons of family pictures on it now. And while I love seeing the pictures, I don’t love how cluttered it looks. And I for sure don’t love how we can see the back of the frames. I went to Pottery Barn just yesterday to grab some new pillow covers, and I got some inspiration for how to decorate my sofa table. It’s not cheap, but I grabbed this vase (it’s a total splurge) and these olive branches.
- I ordered the most adorable Texas dishtowel, and you can find just about all of the states HERE. There’s also pillows and glasses to choose from as well (find these options across the top of the page).
- I know I’ve featured tons of t-shirt dress on the blog that are all from Amazon, but I’d never seen this belted one before.
- Annnnnnd because I continue to love a t-shirt dress, I’m excited to try this dress with the ruffle hem. I got it in navy.
- Crocs are ALL THE RAGE now for middle school boys, so I grabbed Carter a pair. He opted for white.
Don’t forget to link up and let us know what you’re up to this fine Wednesday!

I grew up loving country music! I went to tons of concerts as a child and teenager. We even went to what used to be the TNN Music City News Awards for three years in my teen years. Now, I don’t know who anyone is! LOL I still listen to the pre-2010 era music.
Alison says
Yes, to country music! Admittedly, I was not a fan when I was in HS (mid-90s) because I was sure it was just honkytonk and bluegrass. Then I found myself listening to it when my college roommate forced it upon me. Lol. My ignorant self has loved it since! 😉 May I ask who some of your favorite artists are? Or even a song that you currently love?
Sheaffer says
Hey, Alison! Gosh, I love so much! Right now my favorite is Cole Swindell’s “She Had Me at Heads Carolina”. Every single time that comes on I sing every word. Other current artists/groups I’m loving: Old Dominion, Maren Morris, Jake Owen (Best Things Since Backroads), just to name a few! And 90s country is my favorite! 🙂
Jenn says
Hacks, Murders in the Building, succession
Sheaffer says
Yes, I’m watching Murders in the Building right now and LOVE IT! Chris just isn’t into it. Will look into the others! Thanks, Jenn! xoxo

My husband and just started Season 1 of Reacher on Amazon Prime. So far we both really like it! The guy playing Reacher in the TV show is much better than Tom Cruise was in the movie! 😉
Marsha Banks says
Country music is not my jam though I do like the Outlaws…Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and Hank Williams, Jr. I’ve even seen Willie in concert!
We just watched Blown Away…a glass blowing competition…three seasons to binge!

Yes to country music!!! My boys made a playlist for the lake and that’s all that’s on there. . .I had to ask for a little Zac Brown or Jimmy Buffet to break it up a LITTLE — ha! That teacher bag is AWESOME — something I really, really miss about teaching are the bags and pens. I’m a nerd.
Have to watched Abbott Elementary? So good.
I’ll link up with y’all later if I ever finish my post :/. I’d rather read than write 😉
Gale says
Love country music! My husband and I both really liked Reacher on Prime Video. Anxiously awaiting Season 2 now!
Alison says
I love country music! Give me all the 90s country… And that teacher bag! I need to invest in one of those! However, I do still love my Barrington bag!
Carla says
We just finished Dark Winds and Joe Picket. We loved both of those. Also watching the latest season of Virgin River. And definitely a country music fan!
