Happy Wednesday! It’s time for everybody to join up today with Shay and me and let us know WHAT’S UP this fine Wednesday!
Let’s get right to it!
WHAT WE ARE EATING
Nothing new to report around here.
Because of that, I want to link y’all to a couple of recipes I’ve shared in the past.
This is a delicious salad I shared a couple of years ago, and I continue to make it all the time. It’s basically just a combo of some pretty salads on Pinterest, but you can click HERE to see what all is included.
Click HERE for the recipe for this Campfire Brie. This is what people in the food industry call the yummy shot. Or maybe I just made that up. But if I did, the food industry people should really talk about making it a thing.
That’s it, I’m making this over the weekend.
I also share our favorite steak recipe in the same post.
And here’s another favorite salad I make again and again, especially in the summer months.
It has mixed greens, butter lettuce, grilled chicken (or rotisserie chicken), mandarin oranges, pineapple tidbits, fresh raspberries, avocado, dried cranberries, wonton strips, and low fat honey mustard dressing. I call it the Caribbean Chicken Salad because it’s very similar to a salad that was on the menu at Chili’s years and years ago (before it was discontinued). It’s amazing.
WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT
Did you see my special Tuesday post?!? If you didn’t see it, go to it right now!
Especially if you have any gifts to give soon, go check it out. Think end of year teacher gifts, Mother’s Day, and birthday gifts.
YOU CAN GET THIS BOX FILLED WITH FIVE FANTASTIC BRACELETS FOR $65.
I styled the bracelets in several different outfits yesterday, but you only saw a portion of what I was wearing…
So I thought I would show the entire outfits today so you could see the clothes behind the close up bracelet shots.
This is the same cardigan you’ve seen SEVERAL times on the blog over just the last week and it’s STILL ON SALE. It’s a perfect weight for spring and summer, mine is a gorgeous neutral, and you can style it so many different ways. For size reference, I’m wearing a small. Click HERE to see it styled with my favorite girlfriend jeans. If you want a full review on the white jeans (spoiler alert: they are AWESOME), head to this post and look for the outfit with the orange shirt.
My camo pants are ON SALE too! Pairing them with my favorite denim jacket was a total no brainer.
The pants are a muted camo that I love, and I’m quite picky about my camo patterns. They are stretchy, comfy, and flattering as all get out. I do think they fit differently on me than they look on the model, and other reviewers stated the same. They are more of a skinny jean fit on me than they look on the model, but I truly love the fit. I’m wearing my regular size 4, but I would suggest sizing down if you’re often between sizes. They also come in petite!
I’m thinking these pants would be great for teachers because since they aren’t technically jeans, teachers could wear them during the week! AND THEY ARE ON SALE!
Click HERE to see the pants styled 10 different ways.
This tie neck blouse is the loveliest pale blush. It’s made of ribbed pointelle fabric with a crocheted feel, but there are no open holes WHICH I APPRECIATE. It’s pretty and a little romantic. For size reference, I’m wearing a small.
This adorable sweater has bright and happy colors, fun stripes, and is a medium weight….PERFECT FOR SPRING. And it’s soooooooooooo dang cute.
I love the tight cuffs, the band around them hem of the sweater, and the border color on the hem. It’s another piece I’ve been wearing on repeat. I’m in the medium.
This floral blouse is an Amazon find that stunned me. It’s so pretty. This is the “H Green”, and it’s such a pretty and soft floral pattern. The flutter sleeves drape beautifully, so if you don’t like a puffy sleeve, these are a great alternative. And it of course is a great pairing with my favorite cardi that I can’t seem to stop talking about.
Now let’s take a closer look at the sandals I’m wearing above!
I grabbed these square toe round studded sandals on one of my last trips to the mall. I like that they are neutral (not cognac), and I of course love the fun and edgy spikes. Notice the square toe and the round spikes.
I also found these round toe square studded sandals online, and I ordered them as well. I wanted to compare them with the above and see which ones I liked better. I definitely liked that these were just under $50, where the ones above are just under $80.
So here they are side by side.
Even though they are more expensive, I ended up choosing the square toe sandals because I liked the design of the straps more on the pair on them. But I know there are some of you that will prefer the more classic round toe (and the price tag) of the sandals on the right!
WHAT I’M WATCHING
I’ve been recording all of the new episodes of Top Chef, and I love having them on in the background when I’m linking my posts. The creativity and the talent of the chefs on this show is truly astounding.
I’m also religiously watching This Is Us, A Million Little Things, and Grey’s Anatomy.
WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO
My little boy isn’t so little anymore.
He had his first middle school dance a couple of weekends ago.
AND HE WORE A BLAZER.
Oh my mama heart.
When we first learned about the dance, I bought him a pair of black suit pants and a different blue button up. He tried it all on with a pair of black slip-ons, and I know I’m his mom, but he looked SHARP.
When he looked in the mirror when wearing the button up, suit pants, belt, and slip-ons…..he said, “I mean, I look like a composer from the 1800s”.
I died laughing.
I mean, he kinda looked like a composer from the 1800s. BUT I MAINTAIN HE WAS SHARP.
Still, he’s such an easy kid, and he was just like “Whatever, I’ll wear it, it’s fine.”
But the day of the dance I started getting nervous he wasn’t going to feel good about his outfit, so I ran myself ragged running all over the mall. I bought wayyyyyyyyyyyyy to much stuff, and I brought it all home for him to decide.
I loved what he ended up wearing, and most importantly, so did he. He no longer felt like an 1800s composer. #totalmomscore
You can click HERE for Carter’s blazer if your boy has an occasion coming up and doesn’t want to look like a composer.
They didn’t go with dates. Groups of boys went together and groups of girls went together. Don’t they all look great?
Carter rated the dance a solid 9! And I’d like to rate this group of boys a solid 10!
All the boys had a blast!
The night was a huge success!
WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT
And just fyi, the day of the dance this came across my timehop. 13 years ago to the day, that chubby shirtless little fella with the bright eyes that I could eat with a spoon.
WHAT I’M WEARING
Have y’all heard about the online boutique Avara? Over the last several months I’ve seen some of my favorite influencers highlighting pieces that they carry, and I finally decided to check them out for myself.
Their online selection is DARLING.
Check out this ruffle sleeve blouse! It’s from THML (one of my very favorite brands), and it’s got a double ruffle sleeve and pink micro-poms y’all! It’s a square neck and a relaxed fit with a great texture that makes it look very expensive. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
This green floral dress is so flipping adorable. If you have an upcoming vacation, YOU NEED THIS DRESS! It’s super cute with both flat sandals and wedges, and I of course love that it has pockets. I’m wearing a medium here, and definitely needed the room the medium provided in the bust.
This exact dress also comes in lilac if you would prefer a softer color.
Such a cute look!
The weather has been ALL OVER THE PLACE in my neck of the woods, so it’s been plenty warm to wear the above top and dress, it’s also been down-right cold on days. On the cold days, I lived in this awesome Target fleece.
In fact, if you follow me on stories, you saw me wear this fleece several days in a row. We had a cold snap last week and it was OH SO COZY. The fleece is very oversized, so definitely size down. I’m wearing a small, and there’s still plenty of extra room. Even the sleeves are roomy, so you could layer this over other things with ease.
I can tell you, I will be wearing this at the ranch when it’s cold for years and years to come.
The tee and the leggings are both still on sale, and I have several colors of each. They are actually both MUST HAVES for me.
I know this is bold, but I even liked the fleece with the green leggings.
There’s a fantastic deal happening today on Tan Luxe body drops.
This SUPER SIZE bottle is 3.21 oz, which is TWICE THE SIZE as the regular size bottle. And Y’ALL….the regular size bottle is $60, and today the SUPER SIZE bottle (twice the size) is ONLY $38!!! WHAT THE HECK!!!
I know there are soooooooo many influencers and so many readers that absolutely swear by these drops, so I’m assuming that your instastories will be flooded with this deal today. I’m guessing it will sell out pretty quickly, so don’t delay.
If you’re a person that applies lotion to your body every day, then these drops will totally streamline the sunless tanning process for you. You won’t have to apply lotion and then tanner. You will get it all done with 1 step!!!
You fill your hand with whatever body cream or body lotion you use, and you put 2-6 drops in with the lotion. You combine the products together and rub the lotion on to your body as you normally would. The number of drops you put in your lotion will control the intensity and deepness of your “tan”. I find that it’s easiest to do 1 body part at a time. I thought the color was a very pretty bronzy brown, and it wasn’t orange at all. I’m not a person that regularly applies lotion every day, but I know I need to be better about that, so maybe I’ll start incorporating it into my routine.
- Make sure you thoroughly wash your hands after use!
- I would recommend buying the “medium/dark” instead of the “light/medium”. Since you control the intensity of the color with the number of drops you use, just go ahead and buy the medium/dark! You’ll use less drops and the bottle will last you much longer!
AND IF YOU ARE NEW TO SHOPPING HSN, YOU CAN USE THE CODE HELLO10 for another $10 OFF! WHOAH!
These drops are packed with skin-boosting raspberry seed oil and vitamin E. Alongside firming benefits from the brand’s Cellutone Complex, skin appears firmer, toned and tanned. Triple Tan Technology combines a blend of organic tanning actives which work with your skin tone to deliver a radiant, natural-looking tan without streaks, smells or drama.
Another great sale item today? My favorite blanket in the whole wide world!
This blanket is soooooo soft, looks great (I love the fringe), launders perfectly, and is the best and easiest gift to give for all occasions to pretty much anybody. And right now it’s ON SALE!
I’ve given it for countless housewarming presents, birthdays, graduation, Mother’s Day, and Christmas. I give it to boys, girls, men, and women. And if you are getting one for your own family, get at least 2, because people will fight over it.
I also recently grabbed this Kiehl’s set ON SALE! After having the IPL on my face (my second treatment is tomorrow) and being so pleased with the results, I’m doing everything in my power to make sure I keep any new dark spots at bay. I’m applying this tinted sunscreen every single day and I’m going to start incorporating this dark spot solution into my routine as well
What it does: Formulated with activated C, white birch and peony extracts, this serum helps correct and even skin’s appearance while reducing a wide spectrum of dark spots. With daily use, this dark spot correct helps even and brighten skin over time. Use it as a spot treatment for problem areas or on your entire face day and night. It can also be used to target dark spots on your neck, chest and hands.
How to use: Apply morning and night, before your moisturizer as a spot treatment or over your entire face. It may also be used on your hands, neck and chest on visible discolorations. Apply a daily sunscreen too for optimal results.
