Happy Wednesday! It’s time for everybody to join up today with Shay and me and let us know WHAT’S UP this fine Wednesday!
Let’s get right to it!
WHAT WE ARE EATING
Well, I’ve done a terrible job of documenting what we’ve been eating over here lately. I will tell you that my favorite lunch right now is Trader Joe’s cauliflower gnocchi (in the air fryer) with some fresh shaved parmesan cheese. OMG it’s so good. And because I don’t have any pictures except the one below, let’s take a minute to pay tribute to the nachos and the white sangria at 54th Street. Listen, plan to share the nachos with at least 1 other person if you are eating them for your meal. They’re HUGE.
WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO
As you of course know, Texas was hit with unprecedented weather last week. People were without power for days and days, and many didn’t have water or gas either. My family fared very well, and only had to deal without water for 3 days, but other families have suffered incredible damage. After temperatures finally rose above freezing, pipes started busting left and right, and thousands of homes flooded as well. I’m of course so incredibly thankful that my family and my home are fine, but others were not nearly so lucky. I had planned on rounding up some new and different ways to help, but I just wasn’t able to compile a list in time for today’s post.
If you are interested in helping but haven’t figured out how you want to quite yet, please see my post from last Wednesday. It will provide you several different options on how to give.
I also want to say that I’ve been so incredibly proud of Texas as a whole as well as my community. People have been going above and beyond to help others, and it’s been amazing to witness.
WHAT I’M LOVING
I’ve been placing lots of orders for spring items, and I’ve been loving so much of what has arrived!
I’ve received a handful of requests recently to feature some items from GAP, so I placed a big ol’ order and have been so excited to see it all in person! So far only this ruffle tee has been delivered, but the rest of my order is supposed to arrive tomorrow (it includes stuff for Carter as well as this square neck eyelet top, this navy blue gingham ruched sleeve top, and this ruffle pleated top).
I actually didn’t have super high hopes for this ruffle tee, BUT I LOVE IT SO MUCH. It’s a soft jersey knit, a beautiful color, and it has the fun little ruffle hem. It’s flouncy, flirty, and oh so cute. For those that don’t like to do a half tuck, this tee is for you! It comes in a pretty green too. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
And get excited, because I’ve been told that these girlfriend jeans are getting restocked TOMORROW! #fingerscrossed
If you haven’t purchased the wedges yet, here’s another peek.
You’ll probably remember that last year I got the flat studded sandals and ADORED them (they are on sale now!), so I was thrilled when I saw that they came out with a wedge version this year. I got the tan and ordered my regular size, but the clear sure are cute too.
These are pretty tall at 4″, but they don’t feel nearly that high. They are actually pretty dang comfortable and I was able to walk around my house with ease. And come on, they are HOT.
This dip dye sweatshirt has my name written all over it. It’s cute here with jeans, but I know I’ll wear the heck out of it with joggers and leggings too. It’s called a sweatshirt, and it is a sweatshirt, but it’s definitely on the thin side. Don’t worry, it’s not too thin, I just don’t want you to think you’re getting a really thick and warm sweatshirt. It’s actually the perfect weight for spring.
For size reference, I’m wearing a medium, but I would need a small if just wearing it with jeans or joggers. I’m going to keep the medium because I’ll definitely wear it with leggings too.
So y’all know that everybody is going crazy over girlfriend jeans right now (and I totally am too), but you can rest assured that I’ll definitely still be wearing skinny jeans as well. I don’t care what the Tik Tok girls say, this mama will continue to have skinny jeans in heavy rotation.
These NEW frayed hem ankle skinny jeans are a great light to medium wash for spring and summer, I like the minimal distressing (for interest), and the frayed hem ankle length is my favorite. Plus, they have the Ab Solution technology we’ve all grown to know and love.
When wearing oversized, boxy, or flow tops I want a skinny jean on the bottom to help balance out the proportions. When wearing more fitted tops, then I’ll probably go with my girlfriend jeans.
I’m showing this raglan hoodie in 2 colors, and although I like both colors, I think I prefer the olive.
It’s a great top to transition into Spring. It’s lightweight, breezy, and has a great casual look. For size reference, I’m wearing a small. It comes in 6 color choices.
More on the bag next week, BUT KNOW THIS….IT’S SO GOOD.
My girlfriend Cassie has re-released a favorite from the Home From The Holidays collection with Gibson, but now it’s short sleeve and ready for spring! I love both colorways and can’t wait to wear them with white jeans! For size reference, I’m wearing a small.

WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT
Luckily we were able to get out and enjoy the snow some last week, and I of course had to grab some pictures to commemorate this historic event.
WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND
At the Manda Strong Gala last year, my family bid on a cabin for a weekend getaway in Broken Bow. We are headed there this weekend, and we are so excited for some good family time!
WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT
Honestly? All I can think about right now as I’m finishing up this post (Tuesday at 9:30 p.m.) is how excited I am for bed time.
WHAT I’M LISTENING TO
While working on this post, the boys are watching Honey I Shrunk The Kids, so I’m listening to all sorts of laughing in the other room. I had forgotten what a cute movie it is!
WHAT I’M WATCHING
I’m soooo happy that This Is Us is back on the air! I’m also watching American Idol. I just can’t quit that show.
WHAT I’M WORKING ON
Today I started receiving orders that I had placed before the storm, so I’m starting to unbox, steam, and go through those packages. When I initially go through boxes, I like to immediately put things in a return pile that I know aren’t going to work. It helps me keep everything organized to do it that way, so that’s what I’ll be doing for a bit today as soon as I wrap up this post.
WHAT I’M WEARING / RECENT ORDERS
This section is a little bit different than normal because if I featured what I wore all last week, none of the outfits would include a bra. Because I legit didn’t wear a bra for a solid 7 days. I mean, I wore a cotton cami under my sweatshirts and fleece, but that’s it. That’s all I could muster.
So instead of showing you what I’ve been wearing, I’ll be showing you what I would have been wearing. You know, if I would have ever left the house.
This jacket is a personal favorite that I found last year and I reach for it often. It’s good with jeans, but it’s GREAT with leggings. It’s got give, it gives a layer of warmth, and it covers the hiney.
AND YOU ARE NOT GOING TO BELIEVE the price. I used to have a Nike jacket like this (that was around $145), but I dropped something on it and stained it. Broke my heart because I loved that jacket. BUT Y’ALL! This one is just as good.
It comes in 4 colors, but I went with the light heather grey. I like the longer length, the rounded hem, the black piping, the zippered pockets, the functional hood, I LOVE ALL OF IT. It has a bit of stretch and it’s machine washable.
It’s soooooooooooooo good.
I’m wearing a medium in the jacket and the tee (to make sure they were plenty long for leggings – I think a small might have been fine in the jacket because it’s VERY roomy), a small in the leggings, and I sized down a 1/2 in the sneakers (but many stick with their regular size).
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND all of the pieces I’m wearing. SERIOUSLY, TRUST ME ON THIS.
This wind breaker is such a great electric pink, and I love the black and grey design accents. It also comes in black and aqua. I’m wearing a small, and it doesn’t even come close to zipping, so I definitely need a medium (and maybe even a large). I’m not sure I have a need for this jacket, but I think it’s super cute.
This khaki pullover has excellent reviews, and I love the stand up collar and pockets. I’m wearing the medium here because I wanted to ensure it would be long enough for leggings, but I would order a small if I was only going to wear it with jeans.
This rust tunic sweater is sooooooo soft and soooooo long. It’s way too long for me to wear with jeans (I’m only 5’4″), but I think it would be great with the textured metallic Zella leggings I showed y’all a bit ago. Of if you are a taller girl who is always looking for a longer sweater, you might want to try this one.
This turtleneck sweater is more my speed. It’s lightweight and has a great fit. This light khaki color is so pretty and can be styled so many different ways. It comes in 7 colors and would be a great piece for office wear.
These are Democracy jeans from Amazon, and they are part of the Wit and Wisdom brand. They too have the Ab Solution technology that we all know and love, and how convenient is it going to be that you can order them off of Amazon!
Democracy jeans are going to be a FANTASTIC option for y’all that love the convenience of Amazon shopping.
This one link has 12 different colors of jeans. I’m wearing the “distressed blue”, but there are lighter and darker washes, white jeans, khaki, olive, and non distressed versions. I’m wearing my regular size 4.
That’s all for today, y’all!
And don’t forget to link up for yourself and let us know what’s happening with you this fine Wednesday!
