Hey Everybody! 
I haven’t participated in this link up in awhile because of my Bachelor in Paradise recaps, but today is What’s Up Wednesday with Shay and Mel!

WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK
Hamburgers on Sunday, Shrimp Fajitas on Monday, Teriyaki Chicken on Tuesday, Breakfast for Dinner on Wednesday, and leftover fajitas on Thursday.

I’ve been trying to get off a couple of extra pounds that have crept up on me (just like they ALWAYS do), so I’ve been having my Spark in the mornings (pink lemonade is still my favorite),  protein shakes every day for lunch, and fresh fruit or veggies for a snack.
The shakes are delicious, but I would much prefer a taco.
  Or 7.

WHAT I’M LOVING
I get lots of e-mails from you ladies that read the blog, but my favorite ones to receive are those that show a group of friends or family members that all read the blog.  I absolutely LOVE to hear that!


I received a Facebook message from Charlene F. (a sweet reader) with the following picture of a group of friends on a girl’s weekend before one of them has a baby!
SO fun, right?
I mean, look at all those blardigans!

That’s a seriously darling (and cozy) group of friends!  🙂

And y’all, Barefoot Dreams has come out with some new items.
THIS  is called a circle cardigan.
And let’s be honest.  It’s on it’s way to me.  I have SERIOUSLY high hopes.
And it better be magical, because it’s $116. #ouch
I’m hoping it’s flattering and will look great with leggings and jeans!!!

I love it.  And I felt cozier than I’ve ever felt in my whole life when I put it on.
But DANG it’s expensive.
So, I’m planning on keeping the pants (because y’all just don’t understand how comfy they are), but taking back the hoodie (I didn’t feel like it was super flattering).  I figure I’ll just wear my blardigan with the pants!

But here’s the thing, I might NEVER leave the house.
I seriously don’t feel I have the writing skills to convey my comfort level.
I’ll say this…you should see the group text that went back and forth with me, Shay, and Andrea.
Let’s just say somebody asked me if she could crawl in and call me mommy.
There were also pictures of baby koalas involved.

WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO
Last Friday we took Carter to a high school football game and had a blast!
Every single time we stood up, Carter would stand in between us (standing on the bleachers) and put his arms around both of us.  He has such a sweet and loving little heart.

Personally, I’ve been answering lots of e-mail from you ladies about my flats comfort level chart.
I’ve received around 20 e-mails/facebook messages/blog comments from y’all about the chart.
Let me remind you, ALL 4 are comfy.  They really are.
I simply don’t wear shoes that aren’t.
However, if I were to assign levels of comfort, 
this is how the cards would fall.
1)  Leather Felicia flats
2) Leopard Felicia flats
3) nude patent flats  and  4)  pointy toe flats




So like I said, there’s been a lot of chatter over my flats Comfort Level rating scale.
I had 2 readers say that they had all 4 pairs of flats highlighted in the graphic (the 3 of us are now besties by the way) ;), and they completely agreed with my ratings!
Again, all of them are reallllllllly comfy, but there is still a hierarchy.  🙂
Here are some of the comments I received…as well as a reader question that I answered.

I have a love/hate with flats and after your recent “flats review” I decided to splurge on a pair of Sam Edelman in the pewter color. Yes, ma’am. They are by far the most comfortable flats I have put on. I mean, they are still flats which means I’m not going to walk a marathon in them (I’m not going to walk a marathon in anything though) but they feel great. For me, the key is the back of the shoe. I have a narrow heel so I need a flat that hugs my heel so it doesn’t slip in and out, but often that ends up feeling kind of pinchy. These are the perfect amount of hug without pinching (and who wants a hug while getting pinched?) Thank you! I’m now saving my pennies for more SE flats!

Schaefer, a million thanks for the Sam Edelman Felicia flat tip. My job has me running through airports a lot and these keep me comfy and stylish. I think dear Sam “gets” me since I also have a pair of Sam Edelman calf hair camo heels that never fail to get compliments. They make a work outfit way more interesting yet are surprisingly neutral.

I especially loved your break down of comfortable shoes. I’m a teacher, and I have to wear comfy shoes. I was thinking of getting Tieks this year, which I think you have briefly written on in the past, but then I saw your post for Sam Edelman flats. Which do you think is better?

Hi Megan!
I really do think that the Sam Edelman flats are just as comfy!  In fact, I think they are more comfy. I hear that if you have problem feet (I don’t) than the Tieks are supposed to be really good for that.  I’ve had several ladies tell me that they are “the only flats that work for their problem feet”.  However, if you have “normal” feet, I think you will find the Felicia flats VERY comfortable!  Here’s what I think you should do.  Buy the Sam Edelman’s, wear them around the house for a bit, and see what you think.  I’m 99.9% sure that you will fall in love and keep them!

WHAT I’M WORKING ON
Next Friday I have a TUNICS post coming up!
I’ve been ordering, trying on, and photographing lots of tunics for you ladies over the last 2 weeks!
I even have some great plus size tunics as well as some options for you tall girls!

WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT 
My friend Narci took little man’s 7 year pics last weekend, and I can’t wait to see them!
And OH MY at the ideas he had during the session.
First of all, he requested to bring a Nerf gun and wanted to make sure we grabbed a couple of shots of him with the gun.
I’m not kidding.
Can you imagine that Christmas card?!?  🙂

WHAT I’M WATCHING 
I’m watching baseball.  Lots and lots of baseball.
A couple of weekends ago Carter’s team played 4 games in a pre-season tournament, and since then he’s had 2 games per week.
My friend Laura Tye‘s son (she’s a photographer as well!) is on the team, 
and she took these at one of the last games.

Well, I’m wearing this Free People tee A LOT.
Like more than should be social acceptable for sure.

WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND
Okay….so this is going to seriously date me...
This weekend is our 10 year high school reunion.
What?
Okay.
So it’s our 20 year high school reunion.
Dang!  😉

And yes, that’s my hubby in the pics, because we started dating when we were 16!!!!  CRAZY!
This weekend is going to be extra fun because Kasey, one of my besties (that now lives in Colorado), is flying in and has invited a group of us (there were 8 of us girls that ran around together in high school a lot) to spend the night at her parent’s house all weekend because they are out of town!

WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH
FINGERS CROSSED FOR THIS ONE….wearing fall clothes!
I want to be wearing leggings…and scarves…and military jackets…and light sweaters!
Speaking of leggings.
The MUST HAVE leggings are being price matched for 25% OFF!
(Fyi:  The top I’m wearing totally covers my crotchal area, but I wanted y’all to see the wide waistband and where they sit on my waist.)
(And yes, I see I need to clean off the mirror.  Putting it on my TO DO list!) 🙂

 I have both the grey and the black, but I wear the grey WAY MORE.  
I’ve had the pair in this pic for 2 years I think.  
They are opaque, they don’t show through at all, they don’t pill, they don’t sag, and they don’t fade.   (I have heard reports from people that the black ones do begin to fade after many washes.)  But the best part of these leggings is the ultra wide waistband. 
 It sucks in your tummy without creating a muffin top, not that any of us would know anything about that!  🙂
I’m 5’4″, usually a 27 (or a 4), and I wear a small in these.  They are quite long on me….like several inches too long (which is great news for you tall girls!!!!), but I only wear them with tall boots, so I just cuff them up and tuck them in.  If you wear them with flats you could always get them hemmed.

The jeans I’m wearing in the pic below aren’t my cuff jeans…so I would either wear my cuff jeans or my ankle jeans (that don’t require a cuff at all).

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE HALLOWEEN TRADITIONS?
Every year my friend Tracy’s family comes over, we order pizza, and we trick-or-treat together.  Sometimes my friend Lisa’s family comes over too.
Last year we went to our old neighborhood (even though we were already in the new house).  People in the old neighborhood really go all out, so we might go there again this year too!

    Your reunion sounds really fun, but we've got you guys beat! I met my hubby at 15 and married him at 17 just a few weeks after my graduation. My honeymoon included moving to Austin to begin classes at UT. We graduated UT together 3 years later and are heading back to his 40th HS reunion in San Antonio next week. CANNOT WAIT!     Love everything about your blog! You have made my life a lot easier when it comes to shopping. A big thank you for your awesomeness!

    Quick comment on the booties. I bought the metallic booties last year and did not love them. I felt elfish (if that's a word) when wearing them, the zippers rubbed my ankles raw (no matter how thick of socks I put on) and when I got a mark on the tip of the boot, I rubbed it gently and it took off the metallic sheen and made it look worse.

    I have 3 of the 4 pairs of flats and your hierarchy is correct (I don't have the pointed toe ones). The leather Sam Edelman's are awesome. I do want to try Tieks so I can compare.

    I am super excited about your post on tunics. I've ordered and returned several. I'm 5'8" and they have to be at least 30", preferably longer.

Also, have you tried the American Apparel Winter Leggings? Super thick, comfortable & completely opaque. I have several pairs of those – the only thing is the waistband is just a normal waistband and isn't as wide as the ones you have featured here. May have to try these out though, they may be even better! 🙂

    I would love to get that new BD cardigan. $116 is a splurge, so I think I'll wait to see your review before ordering. I've been holding out on the leggings (who knows why… Maybe because I live in South Louisiana and fall is still a ways off. LOL), but the sale has pushed me over. I'm ordering them today along with 2 pair of BP stud earrings!! 🙂

    Yes, yes, yes! I am LOVING my Sam Edelman Felicia flats! I got them a few weeks ago when you mentioned that certain colors were 40% off. I am an SLP in a middle school, and I am running around all day everyday. For years, I have been buying cheap, uncomfortable flats that I couldn't wait to take off at the end of the school day. When I saw your post, I figured it couldn't hurt for me to give them a try. I cannot not believe how comfortable they are! These flats are like little pillows under my feet!       Possibly! You could wear the band over your belly during the first part of the pregnancy…but you wouldd have to wear it under the belly in the last part because the waistband is definitely snug. Hope this helps! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂

    I'm new to your blog and have quickly become OBSESSED and have ordered way to many things! I just ordered the heather grey MUST HAVE leggings. But I was wondering if you could talk about what goes well with the grey, ( even a wine color which I also recently purchased)! I always end up going with my black ones bc I'm unsure. any chance you could give some tips on that, help a mama out! Thank you thank you!

    I have 2 pair black & 1 grey of the Hue must have leggings bc I wear them so much! I love the grey too & wear them as much if not more than the black! They are the best quality & so comfortable! I also have a pair of the nude Sam Edelman Felicia flats I've had for a couple of years & they are definitely the most comfortable pair of shoes (aside from true ballet slippers!!) I've ever worn! I love them bc they are timeless, classics that can be worn year round & with so much!
    As always, that's Sheaffer for sharing all your fashion savvy with us! I've finally exited my post babies too comfortable/frumpy fashion slump & become a fashionista again! I've also tried things I never thought I would! Thanks so much Sheaffer!

    I finally purchased the must have leggings (in both black and gray) and I am SO GLAD that I did! I am wearing the black pair today and they are so comfortable. The wide band is really flattering and helps to smooth out my belly, lol. They definitely are long, but rolling them at the ankle is no big deal since I wear them with tall boots.
