This is my first time to cover the sale… and brace yourself… it’s actually my first time to shop with Wayfair. #gasp #cuetheshockandawe
I’m not sure why I’ve never shopped Wayfair before, but I can guaran-dang-tee you I’m a shopper for life now. I had NO IDEA how Wayfair has pretty much anything and everything you could ever hope to have for your home. I’M NOT KIDDING. Need a brass pineapple bookend? Wayfair has got you. Need some wallpaper? Great! There are tons of incredible options on Wayfair! Maybe a mobile kitchen island, or a farmhouse armoire, or a modern coffee table, or a brushed nickel faucet for your bathroom? I’M TELLING YOU RIGHT NOW. Wayfair has it.
If you’re unfamiliar with the Way Day Sale, here’s what you need to know…
Wayfair Way Day is Wayfair’s largest and most extensive sale of the year. It’s basically the size of Black Friday, which is mind blowing. You will find discounts up to 80% OFF across all types of categories like outdoor furniture, home decor, kitchen appliances, and much much more. This year Wayfair decided to launch a 2nd Way Day at the end of October to empower their customers to find great deals before all of the other sales start. The savings are MASSIVE, y’all. And remember, FREE SHIPPING too!
LET’S REVIEW…
○ Wayfair Way Day is today and tomorrow only! (October 26th – October 27th)
○ Up to 80% Off
○ Massive Markdowns
○ And did I mention 48 hours only?
So in order to match the MASSIVE SALE, I have a pretty massive post for y’all today! I’m going to start out showing y’all some amazing Wayfair items that I picked up for my own home, and y’all are going to get to see them styled in their new spaces! Next, I’m going to share my sister’s bathroom makeover with you (she got almost everything from Wayfair!). Finally, I’m going to wrap things up with specific items I found for y’all when previewing the Way Day Sale!
Let’s! Get! Started!
Are you dying? Because I’m dying. Here’s just a little sneak peek of the handful of items I ordered. Don’t make me pick a favorite, because I can’t. I’d say it’s the bowl, but OH MY WORD at the pink faux orchid, and I could absolutely stroke out over those pillows.
2’3″ x 3’9″ rust red and blue rug (top) / 2 x 3 burgundy, dark blue, and beige rug (middle) / 2 x 3 red and orange rug (bottom)
pink orchid / white orchid / 22 x 22 geometric throw pillow covers / decorative bowl / soap dispensers / green and white box / turkish cotton hand towel
I actually ordered 5 rugs to try out in my home (the 3 small rugs in the picture above) and the 2 runners you see below. The Wayfair rug selection is OUTSTANDING. Click HERE if you want to browse around allllllll of their rug choices for yourself.
I ordered these 2 runners to try out in the kitchen. I’m going to show them in the kitchen later, but I immediately had a favorite when I unrolled them. Do you have a favorite already?
And listen… maybe you don’t need a runner, but you love the colors in the red and navy rug! Well, they have it in 10 different sizes. I think this one would be STUNNING as a 9×12 in a family room, and even such a large size would be UNDER $250! The navy one comes in tons of sizes as well.
rust and blue runner (on bottom) / red and navy runner (on top)
I also ordered 3 smaller rugs for our 1/2 bath downstairs.
Sadly, although they were great rugs (and SO well priced!), none of them were just perfect for the space. Still, I wanted to show them here because I feel like they might be perfect for some of y’all.
They all come in several different sizes, several different colorways, and they are ALL ON SALE.
2’3″ x 3’9″ rust red and blue rug (bottom) / 2 x 3 red and orange rug (middle) /2 x 3 burgundy, dark blue, and beige rug (top)
Buddy liked them. 😉
More on the runners later in the post. Y’all are going to help me decide which one to keep!

Okay, my new pillows.
The blue pom pom pillow cover is from Wayfair, it’s DARLING, and it’s ON SALE! I grabbed 2 of them for our new sofa, and I’m straight up obsessed. They add so much great color and texture to the family room. Mine are the 22×22, and I was able to throw them on pillow inserts I already had.
22 x 22 geometric throw pillow cover
LOVE.
22 x 22 geometric throw pillow covers
Here’s the other one on the other side of the sofa.

This white and green decorative box might not be on sale, but it is fabulous.
The green is perfection, and I love that it holds the remote that all of us always seem to be looking for. Now it has its spot, so we know where to find it.
In the kitchen, I added these soap dispensers with the stand and this Turkish cotton hand towel. Both items are ON SALE! The dispensers come with several different label options to choose from, and they are easy to apply. My hand towel is gray, but it comes in black too.

The dispensers are amber, but they also come in a great gray blue and an earthy green.

Okay, now let’s decide on which rug I should keep.
If you remember, I used to have a 3 x 5 rug in this space, but I never loved it. This Wayfair post was the perfect excuse to find a replacement!
Option #1 is this red and navy runner. This is the 2 x 8 runner. I do wish it was a little wider, but I sure do love the colors and pattern.
Option #2 is this rust and blue runner. I like the size better (this is the 2’7″ x 7’10”), but I’m not as in love with the colors and pattern.
So I think I’m leaning towards keeping Option #1 for the kitchen.
And whichever one I don’t keep in the kitchen, I’m considering keeping for the entry way. I’ve never even really considered a rug for this space. What do y’all think?

And perhaps my favorite finds of this haul…
pink faux orchid /decorative bowl
I purchased the pink faux orchid and the decorative bowl to decorate with separately. I fell in love with both of them, but I wasn’t sure where they would end up.
After receiving them, I knew immediately that I wanted to put them together. I feel like they were made for each other, and they were definitely made for my entry way chest! The two together are a splurge, but they are just the look I was going for! I was willing to spend some money because this entry way table needed a change.

I simply put the orchid in the bowl, and then I put some tissue paper in the bowl to fill it up. I covered up the tissue paper with faux moss, and all of a sudden I had centerpiece perfection!
pink faux orchid / decorative bowl
The pink faux orchid is not on sale, but my goodness it is worth every penny. I LOVE IT SO MUCH. The decorative bowl is on sale. It’s still a little pricey, but I think it’s perfect for this space. I thought they were perfect for each other, and this is just the look I was going for.
Hi there, Charlie!

CONNER’S BATHROOM REDO
And now we’re on to Conner’s bathroom. For those of you that have been around for a while, you will remember Conner from her Work Wear posts she used to do for us when she worked in an office. She no longer works in an office, but she still enjoys contributing to my blog content every now and then. And she has some seriously great stuff for y’all today.
Everybody loves a good BEFORE and AFTER, right?
Well, check out this before!
Conner’s new home they bought earlier this year was built in 1976. When Conner’s family purchased the home, every single space had been redone EXCEPT FOR THIS BATHROOM. As you can see, it was just a teeny bit dated.
Well, not anymore!
Hold on to your britches ladies, because look at this ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS AFTER!
WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW! I love it so much! Well done, Conner!
And guess what, y’all! The majority of the items in this beautiful new bathroom are from Wayfair, including the vanity.

Conner did change the hardware on the vanity. I love how it came out, and I love how it looks in the space.

This blue and ivory rug looks like it was made for the space.

Conner added the shades to the lights as well. And the wall lights are on sale!
The faucets she decided on are ALSO ON SALE!
And she’s got a matching rug (in a smaller size) right outside of the shower as well. And you guessed it, the rugs are ON SALE.
The space is beautiful, Conner!
WAYFAIR FOR THE WIN, Y’ALL!

We’re shopping it hard over here! We just repainted our living room and are looking for wallpaper or some such for an accent wall. We picked out several favorites last night to have them saved and ready for the sale prices. I’m also laughing because we have that same skinny remote and it’s frequently lost. Great idea with the box!
But girl where you been? Wayfair is awesome! We bought all of our outside furniture from them as well as several decor items over the years.

Listen, Minda. I have NO IDEA where I’ve been! 🙂 I tell you this, I’ve quickly became a loyal Wayfair shopper!!!! Shame on me for taking so long. 😉 xoxo

Sheaffer, thanks for this post and the Wayfair alert. I agree completely, that pink faux orchid is beautiful! I’m ordering it to pop into my orchid greenery between blooming cycles. However, no matter how much you love it, the navy and red runner is too narrow for both spaces! If you are in love with the rust and navy, keep looking. I think in the long run, you’ll regret the too narrow rug. Good luck!

I was JUST shopping online at Wayfair yesterday! There are so many great deals!!

I design for a living. Option 1 rug, agree colors are very good BUT the size is to small (narrow) to center it in the space. You can still use option 1 but instead of centered rug, pull it in front of the sink slightly back 6 inches and it will look fine. You do not need to center a runner between the cooktop and sink but can pull it forward to the sink and it will work. You are correct option 2 runner does look better size wise and colors do work but the pop of color you need isn’t there. Do NOT use any runner in the foyer space. That does not work design/scale wise. I would take the bathroom rug (top 1 burgundy/blue) and place in front of the front door or center that rug in space in front of the chest and see if that size fits. I can’t tell from pic the scale of measurements. Love Wayfair use them all the time. Love the pink orchid and bowl you selected. Great choices, love them!

Thanks for all the great tips, Carly! xoxo

You can put a rug in entry/foyer but it can not compete in design/scale with the dining room. I know the colors/pattern of your dining room rug, so this style I suggested will work. The scale is different BUT it goes with other pattern rugs will look great in your home in Texas. Wayfair has on sale the antelope print rug, various colors. Go with a neutral that blends in the lighter colors of your dining room rug. It will look awesome, just give it a try. You should have a rug in the entry/foyer, but you need to pivot to a design that compliments all the others and is “quieter ” in design/scale. Try looking up Wayfair antelope rugs. Good luck, I know it would look good!!

Hi, Sheaffer! Another very helpful post with some beautiful finds! I have to agree about the size of the rugs…they are not the right size for either space. The biggest mistake people make with area rugs is getting them too small and they look like a postage stamp floating in the room. The size of Connor’s rugs are perfect for her spaces. I think you would be happier if the entry and kitchen both had something much wider. In the entry either use one of the small 2×3 rugs at the front door like a door mat or try a 4×6 or 5×8 with the front half of the chest and front legs of the chair sitting on top of the rug. I hope you find something you love!
Sheaffer says
Hi there! I’m scrapping an entry way rug, it’s hard to tell in the pictures, but I don’t think any rug is going to work there. The entry way is right next to the dining room where I have a large 9 x 12 rug, and I’m finding that anything I put there competes too much with the dining room rug. Going to keep looking for the perfect kitchen rug! xoxo

Thanks for sharing these finds from Wayfair. Stumbled across your blog from Sunshine and Books!
