GIRLS! THE ORIGINAL MUST HAVE DENIM JACKET IS BASICALLY BACK!
When I first named this a must have back in 2013, it was called “sweet wash” or “sweet vintage” or “sweet pea” or something like that.  And then Nordstrom got a new one in that looked exactly the same (for like a hot minute), and it was called Amelia (which is the one that’s back this year).  I ordered the Amelia last year just so I could try it on and compare the differences.

And I couldn’t figure out any real differences between the two!

So I’ve had my jacket going on 2 years now, and it’s still definitely a MUST HAVE in my closet.  It looks great with shorts, colored pants, distressed khakis, graphic pants, and it is AWESOME with maxi dresses and little sundresses.  IT IS A GREAT JACKET!! 

So, a little more than half of today’s post is all about THE JACKET!
But if you already have the jacket, there’s something today for you too!
Stay tuned and I’m going to tell you two new items that go will go with your jacket perfectly!

For size reference, I have a small in the jacket.  It is quite fitted, but I like it that way!  I think the more fitted cut is what makes it so cute and different from lots of other denim jackets out there that all tend to be a little too boxy for my current taste.  I found that there wasn’t a lot of difference between the sizing in the jackets, so I would say either go with your regular size or size up one size (a medium would have been fine on me too, just a little less fitted).
And even if you already have a denim jacket, if it’s from more than 3 or so  years ago, I would like to gently suggest that maybe your denim jacket needs an update.  

One of the best things about this jacket is that it has some stretch in it.
It is also much lighter weight than you would expect.
When I started writing this post at the end of last week, the jacket was fully stocked at Nordstrom (which is why I started writing the new post), and now there are only a couple of sizes left.  DANGIT!  Luckily, it is fully stocked at Zappos.  Now I know most of you prefer ordering from Nordstrom, as do I, but Zappos has free shipping and returns as
well (you can read their policies HERE).

But just in case you aren’t into the stonewashed look,  you just really prefer to order from Nordstrom, or you already have the stonewashed look and would like another color…..you can find other colors of the jacket at Nordstrom HERE.  THESE options are all from the same maker of my MUST HAVE jackets, so they are all more fitted than most other jackets out there,
and they all have some give and stretch to them!

I promise you, you will WEAR THE EVER LOVING HECK out of one of these jackets.
You will grab it all the time.
In fact, you will have to talk yourself out of NOT grabbing it every once in awhile just because you don’t want people to look at you weird or talk about you behind your back.  🙂
So….if you already have one of the jackets ….go ahead and high five yourself, but now it’s time to pay attention….because here’s what you need to know today:
 I found two new items that are flipping made for the jacket for this spring.

Yep. I’m READY FOR SPRING!
I saw THESE pants online, 
and I just randomly took a chance on them.  
And I’ve gotta tell ya, I’m feeling a little bit genius right now.
They have a lot of stretch in them (which makes them very comfy), they are obviously distressed, and they are a boyfriend fit.  All of the other colored jeans in my closet are skinny jeans, so I’m happy to have a pair with this more relaxed fit!  And for $58, they didn’t totally break the bank!
For size reference, I’m wearing a 5 in the pants.  I’m normally a 5 in junior’s sizing, but the size guide says the 5 is a 2, and I only wish I was a 2 right now.  If you know what you are typically in junior’s sizing, go with that size.  If you are ordering by your 2, 4, 6, etc. size, I would say to size down 2 size.  Hope that makes sense!

I mean, come on.
These types of slip on sneakers are HUGE for Spring, but some of them are too far out there for me…..to bright, too shiny, too hole-y…..but these were just right.
It’s like I’m a modern day Goldilocks.
For size reference, I’m typically a 6-6/12 in shoes, and the 6s were great on me.  If you are a solid half size, I would recommend ordering a size up.
Now let’s talk about their comfort level for a minute.
One of the reviewers said they “felt like slippers”.  Now, I wouldn’t go that far, but they seemed comfy enough.  However, a reader (Hi Betsy!) posted on facebook last night that she was have quite a bit of trouble breaking hers in.  Mine were fine when I wore them around the house yesterday, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed they’ll be okay for longer periods of time too!

me in it another 23 or some odd times.

p.s.
 I’m sad to report that the white Vigoss jeans that I ordered (and was hoping I would love) didn’t work for me.

    Well I ordered those shoes over the weekend. My husband is giving them to me for my birthday he just doesn't know it yet(: I will let you know if I have trouble breaking them in. I have a denim jacket from high school that I still wear. I am turning 43 in a few weeks so do the math on how old my jacket is!! I need an update. I added this to my cart at Zappos.     Ordered the jacket…#finally! I actually love ordering from zappos too….excellent customer service and you can return up to one year later! I got white jeans from j crew last year….the toothpick ones. You should check them out! My favorite :)!!

    I can't wait to get this jacket! I have also tried on tons of denim jackets and am always disappointed! either they are too tight, too loose, too long, too 'grandmaish", or whatever else…so I am pumped to get this one and try!! 😉

    I love my jacket and wear it 3/4s of the year (I live in WI)–so it is definitely one of the most versatile items in my closet. I even wore it for much of my pregnancy last year–thank you stretch 🙂

    I ordered the white Vigoss jeans, too, and had the same problem as you with the distressing. I have some white ones from Loft last year that I love, so I'll just stick with those for now. And I have one of the Kut denim jackets- love, love, love it!!

    I have this jacket and Sheaffer is absolutely right (as usual!) – it is PERFECTION!!!! So soft, with the perfect amount to stretch – it;s HEAVEN!!!! I wear mine Spring, Summer and Fall all.the.time!! Get it NOW!! You won't be sorry!!!!

    Oooooh man, I think I have to order that darn jacket today (and those nude flats). I was holding off thinking the "acid wash" jean jacket was too trendy and would go out of style the second I bought it, but here you are again with all those cute pics!! 😉 My favorite white jeans are Loft's boyfriend.

    That is so funny because I ordered those Vigoss white jeans the day you posted them and I didn't like them, either. Not because of the distressing…they weren't that distressed? But because the material was so weird. Not a bright white and REALLY stretchy. Too stretchy. They're sitting here waiting to head back to Nordstrom.

    Keep me posted on a white distressed pair of skinnies. I'm still on the hunt!

    The Jacket is fabulous- I bought it when you first made it a must have. I would definitely recommend sizing up…I am a medium in everything from the Gap and I have it in a Large and it's perfect. Is also have to tell you that I can't stop wearing the Wit and Wisdom must have jeans….when I put them on, I look tall and skinny, but feel like I'm wearing pajamas! I actually bought them in 2 sizes. One for more of a straight leg look and the size down for a true jegging fit. I'd love to see your picks for a white jean option once spring arrives…which here in Chicago will be quite some time, but a girl has got to be prepared!

    I bought the shoes a month ago and wore them to work (we own a restaurant) and worked a 13 hour day in them. They were no-slip and comfy as heck but by hour 10 they rubbed my little toe a bit. I still wear them to work but just on shorter work days. Got tons of compliments on them.

    Just bought a pair of white jeans from Target this weekend. They are their Mossimo brand and are being called jeggings maybe? They are a non holey white jean that isn't as see through as most I've tried. Not the super low rise that I can stand. 30 inch inseam I'm thinking. Perfect cuffed crop length imo.

    I bought the jacket when you first recommended and it has been one of my favorite purchases you suggested thus far. I wear it all the time, even during the summer! I usually wear a small and I ordered medium so I had little more wiggle room. Definitely worth the money and I highly recommend it to others.

    I know you are not a die hard fan of designer jeans, but good white jeans are SO HARD to find in my opinion. I highly recommend trying the AG Stilt white jeans. I ordered about 20 pairs from shopbop (also free shipping and returns) a few years back, and these were the clear winner!

    I have tried every white Jean on the market and I swear by Ann Taylor modern skinney white jeans. They are $89 but as you might know AnnTaylor always has 40% off (as they do right now). They are super stretchy comfortable and very flattering. They aren't "skinney" – more straight leg imo. I have worn them for years! (What is funny I don't buy anything else from Ann Taylor and am a designer Jean snob when it comes to blue jeans but I do love these in white and with the sale price i usually buy 2 pair each spring. They fit true to size but if waffling between 2 sizes, definitely size down as they do stretch.

    I have the Kut jacket as well and it's awesome! Denim jackets are a staple in my wardrobe and I have one in every wash and color imaginable. I have a stonewashed Levi's jacket from high school that I will never get rid off and I have loved adding more to my collection. One of the things I do love about the Kut jacket is because it is smaller and more fitted, it rolls up well in my bag when I'm traveling and I need an extra jacket. So, whether it's summer and I'm home in Wisconsin or January in Key West (just there) or Phoenix in March (going soon), this jacket works. I did size up on size because it is fitted but it's great. One time I did not mind.

    I got my 'sweet' jacket this fall because of yall! I read a comment a few months ago from a reader who found them on Amazon for 51.99, and that is how I scooped mine up when Nordstrom was out of the 'sweet' color. (thank you whoever that was!!!) I LOVE this jacket. It is so 'fashion-y'- not matronly at all. My favorite ways to wear it is with maxi skirts or dresses and with short shorts in the summer. And, one commented earlier calling it acid-washed…I was totally hesitant about that too and didn't want to look all eighties-jam, but this is NOT an 80's jacket. its totally fine and I would not call it acid washed at all. at least mine isn't!
