I know that I’m totally WOWing you guys with the my super creative titles lately.
Part 1: Pinned Images
I got an e-mail yesterday from Nordstrom that intrigued me.
I think it will you too.
We obviously ALL love Pinterest, and the purpose of this particular e-mail was to show the topped pinned boots. I was super interested to see what they were.
A couple of them surprised me, but I was in total agreement with these four,
so I created a little collage.
#iknow #somebodystopme #ican’tstopmakingcollages
The Colten (HERE) was the first bootie I fell in love with. I think it’s greatness.
The Penny (HERE) is the quintessential cognac riding boot, and it is so well priced!
The Pace boots (HERE) are very similar to my TOMS.
The Helena (HERE) is sooooo sassy! I’ve been thinking about adding a heeled boot to my closet, and at this price, I think Helena might be coming to live with me. 🙂
Here they are up close.
It’s just the right amount of edgy without being too over the top. And the color goes with everything.
Plus, I love the buckle detail and the heel height.
and there is a wide calf version HERE
I really REALLY love this boot, and I think it’s a phenomenal price. The color is gorgeous, and I love the asymmetrical tapered top. Here is another picture I found online of the Penny boot.
This is a great pair of boots.
This bootie is totally sassy. And I think I want a sassy bootie.
You know what I mean.
(not many sizes left, TOMS option HERE)
There are several more that I was happy to see on the list.
Like the Jaxen HERE.
It totally favors the Rag and Bone bootie (that is $495) but is actually affordable.
And you know I talked all about Hunter boots on my Monday post (HERE), and I got several comments about this next pair of boots that made that most pinned list.
The Huntress boots (HERE) are specifically made for a wide calf and you ladies love them!
******CORRECTION!!!!!!!!**********
I feel ridiculous, but I just got an e-mail from Kaitlin (the sweet reader who sent me the picture below), and I was incorrect about her boots being the “Huntress”.
So, the graphic is wrong and everything!
Here is what her e-mail said:
Hi Sheaffer!! So sweet of you to include me in your post 🙂 But I just wanted to clarify that the boots I’m wearing are the Hunter Original Adjustable Wellies, and not the Huntress. The Huntress wellies only have a 14 inch shaft (vs the Hunter’s classic 16 inches) and they’re pretty wide overall, lots of strange ankle room. I am wearing the Hunter Original Adjustable Wellies, which have the exact same look as the originals, only they have an adjustable back
THANK YOU SO MUCH KAITLIN!
Clicking HERE should get you to the correct boots.
Sorry for the confusion everyody!
And purely fyi…
for those of you that were obsessing over the Hunter boots but didn’t make the plunge because you just weren’t sure they were worth the money, I totally get it.
However.
I want to share this e-mail with you from Jenna, just a regular ol’ reader.
… I opened them at Christmas and fell
in love. Yet I was having a hard time justifying them (even though they
were a gift). I googled the boots and saw women wearing them with
EVERYTHING….Cute
outfits, sunny skies. So I thought, ok, MAYBE….I can honestly say I wear them WAY more
than I thought I would. I had to laugh at your post, “Slight chance of
rain, you bet!” “torrential downpour? Bring it!” That’s EXACTLy the way I
feel. I totally change my outfit if I notice its going to rain. But I
also don’t hesitate to throw the Hunters on with anything.
I have
some foot problems and have to be careful with shoes. I put an athletic
insole in them and now they are SO comfortable. I also bought a fleece
liner. My fav outfit in the snowy/rainy winter months is leggings with
my lined boots. SO warm and really adorable if I do say so myself! I’m
thinking about asking for the cable knit liner for my birthday. A girl
needs options!
Thanks for the fun post and for making me feel valid in all of my feelings! HA!
I’m glad you have started a club for all of us!
Jenna! So glad to have you as a club member! 🙂
If Jenna convinced you that you really do NEED a pair,

Part 2: LOFT SALE
I got an e-mail just this morning about a 50% off sale at LOFT.
Due to technical difficulties, the sale was extended and doesn’t end until Thursday at midnight!!!
Click HERE to shop the entire sale.
Click HERE to go back to my LOFT-A-PALOOZA post that was dedicated to LOFT items a couple of weeks ago. It will all be 50% off today! I tried soooo many items on, linked to them, and the links will still be active.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this sweater. It came home with me.
And if we’re being honest, so did the scarf.

Part 3: I Sometimes Have Moments of Genius
Okay, so I writing this post wayyyyyyy back in July right after I posted my Christmas in July post where I highlighted items that were available at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale that I thought would be great for Christmas presents.
(I would link to it, but every single thing I just checked, and every single thing I highlighted in that post is no longer available. Dang!)
Everybody was feeling super smart getting a serious head start on their Christmas lists.
of these girls wrote about how the post yesterday (see what I mean? I wrote the first part of this months ago) gave them the idea
to buy a Pinterest Told Me To MUST HAVE or STYLE STAPLE item for a lady
on their Christmas list!
Yep.
You guys are total smarty pants.
WELL DRESSED and SUPER STYLISH smarty pants.
get lots of e-mails from you ladies saying that you and your best
friend both read the blog…or you and your mom and your 2 sisters all
read the blog….or your entire book club….or your bible study……or your MOPS group……or you stroller strides all read the blog (which of course I love)!
And then I thought some more….
If
you have friends and family that read the blog, then you have a shared
knowledge of things that have been highlighted. And most likely you have talked about some of the items on the blog.
(I had a reader e-mail me awhile back that the topic at the gym between her friends one morning was all about how leopard is a neutral!)
And so I thought…
Wouldn’t
it be SO FUN to give a gift to a friend/mom/sister that you know
they’ve been hearing about but maybe haven’t treated themselves to?!?
(You can find her design blog HERE and her family blog HERE.)
And here’s the genius we came up with…
PINTEREST TOLD ME TO gift tags!
They say
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Party like Pinterest Told You To!”
ARE YOU DYING?
Because I am TOTALLY dying.
We started with birthday tags, but there will also be tags for Christmas and Mother’s Day when they roll around!
All I did was save the image Andrea sent me (found on the bottom of this post), print it off on a color printer, and then cut it out and tape it on a solid color bag. EASY!
Wouldn’t it be SO MUCH FUN to give or receive something with one of these cute little tags?!?
{If you’re one of my friends, you can just go ahead and expect that all birthday gifts from here on out will have one of these cute little tags attached to them.}
So, here’s the idea behind them…
If your group of girlfriends was talking about how leopard is a neutral, wouldn’t it be fun to give a leopard scarf to your friend for her birthday?
Or maybe your mom or sister mentioned to you that she LOVED the TOMS booties, but she didn’t really want to spend the money on them……well, then you can get them for her!
I am crazy excited about the idea of these cute little tags making appearances at girlfriend birthday parties and dinners! I hope you ladies think you might actually use them!
I thought I would help you brainstorm what you might want to give as gifts and place in these darling little bags!
I think that when buying for a girlfriend, most people often spend under $30.
(Or, several girls might go in together to get a really nice gift! That’s what my friends did for me this year. Several went in and got me a fun stack of Sequin bracelets!)
However, if you are buying for a sister or mom, you might spend as much as $100 or so!
Or maybe you do what my friends sometimes do…go in together to get a nicer gift.
This year my friends went in together to get me a stack of sequin bracelets.
LOVE!
So, I’ve rounded up some things I’ve talked about previously that I think would
make FABULOUS gifts.
Right off the top of my head,
any of the Stella and Dot pieces would be perfect.
You know I’m obsessed with THIS necklace and THIS necklace.
But for more affordable pieces, I also love THIS turquoise drop necklace (it’s great for layering) and THESE statement earrings (totally my new favorites). You cannot go wrong with a Stella and Dot gift, and wouldn’t it be fun to give it with the Pinterest Told Me To tag?
(I am so sorry I say this all the time, but I always want to remind you to enter in “Sheaffer Sims” as your hostess so I can use credits to buy prizes for future giveaways!)
Maybe they would like Sequin bracelets like I got for my birthday?!?
I got great colored ones for summer, but I am LOVING the silver and gold versions for fall.
My favorites are HERE and HERE and HERE.
I’m thinking I wouldn’t stack them quite so deep on my arm, but I do love them. 🙂
What about the Nordstrom lip gloss that I recently discovered?
This is a very economical gift that would be GREAT to gift. I promise your friend will love it!
Click HERE for all of the shades.
My favorite shade is Dandy (pale pink on bottom), but you should at least get 2 because they are only $14.95 for a pair!
HECK! Get 4!
2 for you and 2 for the birthday girl! 🙂
Think about one of the scarves I’ve featured.
Scarves make AWESOME birthday presents, especially this time of year!
3 great leopard scarf options HERE for $18 at Nordstrom!
Leopard scarf HERE (also comes in red, mustard, and orange).
all echo scarf choices HERE
It’s AWESOME, right?
I love it so much!
I think I like the middle one the best.
Wait. I don’t know. The brightly colored one on the left is pretty fabulous too.
Who wouldn’t love to open up one of these on their birthday?
Or maybe it would be fun to give one of the super cool sweatshirts that I recently featured!
tunic sweatshirt HERE (mine is in pale pink)
For size reference, I’m wearing a small.
I’m wearing the Sanibel pendent (yes, again!) HERE.
And look at these two sweatshirts:
oversized hoodie HERE / wide neck sweatshirt HERE
The wide neck sweatshirt would be so cute with a cute tank under it!
Or maybe my new favorite lace henley shirt found HERE.
You know what else would be so fun to give – especially to your mom or sister?
Some of my favorites follow.
THESE BABIES.
Gorgeous.
Fabulous.
Classic.
Additional size available at Zappos HERE.
(I have now worn mine 3 days, and I am SOOOOO pleased. The first time I wore them, they were very comfy while I was wearing them, but my right foot was strangely sore the next day. However, I’ve worn them twice since, and I have ZERO complaints!)
Nude flats| Nordstrom, exact pair HERE
If you know me in real life, you know that I’m wearing the snot out of these particular flats.
I think they add polish and a bit of chicness to lots of outfits.
I never dreamed I would wear them as much as I do!
I professed my love for THESE TOMS booties, and I’m pretty sure most girls would be thrilled to open them!
So, those are my picks for birthday presents right off the top of my head.
If there are others that you ladies can think of that would be a great “Pinterest Told Me To” pick, just leave a comment!
And remember, Christmas tags are coming!!!
Ho, Ho, Ho!!!
Here is the tag for you to print off.
You can just save it to your computer, and then print it off!
I’m so excited about these and I hope all of you ladies help the other ladies in your lives “Party Like Pinterest Told You To!”
xoxo,
Sheaffer

Sheer genius! Those tags are ADORABLE! I love, love, love that idea! I'm hoping my mom and friends print them out for my birthday this month! Such a fun way to celebrate!
Michelle Bacot says
LOVE the gift tags!!! I miss your daily posts, but every post you make is absolutely awesome! Hubby got me hunter boots last year (they're kind of diamond shaped, quilted on top). I wear them like black riding boots, rain or shine. I'm taking them to the Canadian Rockies this weekend and wearing them as snow boots. I've been SO on the fence about booties, but bought my first pair this weekend… you're so right, they do feel so sassy and stylish. I haven't commented in awhile, so I wanted to say hi. I hope you have a great week!
Leah J. says
What a fantastic idea! You have helped this poor "I've totally lost my style because I'm a stay at home mom" gal break out of the frumpy rut I was in. Just got my Toms Booties yesterday and some adorable Loft shirts you suggested … can't wait to go to Library Story Time this morning in style 🙂

OMG I LOVE the gift tags! Genius idea!!! The Sassy bootie is my favorite too, but that heel! I cannot catch my three kids in that heel. That makes me very sad.
Sabrina says
Well, hot dog!!! I'm SO excited that there are Hunter boots for wider calves!! I definitely made me a Christmas list this morning while reading your blog: Stella & Dot jewelry, Toms booties and Hunter boots. However, I'm not so sure I can wait til Christmas on some of these items. haha!!!
And those gift tags–Genius. GEN-I-US. I feel like I should drive to Texas and give you a high-five. And a present with a cool gift tag attached. Because that's how cool you are!

Sheaffer, you are a genius! I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE these gift tags and cannot wait to see the Christmas tags, Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, Earth Day, Flag Day, or whatever else you design!!! Over the summer I found erin condren planners through your blog or Shays and I immediately ordered one for myslef and have used it EVERYDAY since it came in! They included several gift tags samples with the planner and I have used them ALL! I love wrapping gifts and making them special! That is almost part of the gift itself is the beautiful wrapping! I look for excuses the buy gifts now so i can wrap them up all pretty and use my gift tags, so now I will be printing the PTMT tags and using them FOR SURE! Thanks!!!
Sheaffer says
ERIN! Yes…we TOTALLY need tags for Flag Day! Laughing so hard! So glad to hear you think you will be using the gift tags. That makes me happy!
And the Erin Condren planners ROCK!

I've never commented before, but I have to tell you how grateful I am that you highlighted the TOMS booties! I would have never considered them before seeing you style them. Since purchasing them, they are my favorite shoes in my closet, beating out my Hunters and beloved Tory Burch flats every time! They are the most comfortable shoes ever – like wearing slippers! I get so many compliments on them every time I wear them and I always tell people that Sheaffer at PTMT told me to!
Leslie says
Hey Sheaffer, Do you ever wear cowboy boots? I know they aren't on trend, but being in TX they are a staple for me! I call them my winter flip flops. I wear them with any outfit with boot cut or skinny jeans. I'd love to see if you have a different take on them.
Martha Vargas says
Love this post! <3

Genius. Totally genius. But could you maybe do a Christmas tag too? I think my Mom needs one of those scarves (and she totally reads your blog btw!) and I would LOVE to put a tag on her gift like that. She would LOVE it!!
simply selman says
Oh scratch that. I just re read the post…you are totally working on them. Cant wait!
Carly Lee (C. Style Blog) says
If my printer worked, I would totally print off those cute labels! How fun! Plus all my peeps read your blog, which makes it doubly fun!
Lindsey says
OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!
I've never commented before but read every day!! I returned some boots to Nordie's today that I just didn't love and decided to look for some new boots. I told the girl I have freaky HUGE calves for my small feet and she told me she had the perfect boot just when I mentioned I wanted to try on the Penny, which is exactly the one she had in mind!
The zipper slipped right up over my jeans (!!) like a dream come true – literally!! I've been trying to find great leather boots for years and NOTHING ever fits!
The leather is sooo soft and comfy and they look wonderful! Needless to say, they came home with me! I might even sleep in them tonight! They're also coming with me to Europe this winter – so excited!!
Thank you thank you!!!!!
