I love stripes. And I love plaid. And I reallllllllllllllllllly love them together. I’m also a big fan of a great scarf. And I’m telling you, today you’re going to be seeing a GREAT scarf. I’m working with Nordstrom on this post to show y’all two simple outfits with 1 great scarf: one outfit with stripes, and one with a plain solid tee. Nothing groundbreaking here. Just two really cute and easy outfits. And I’m all about cute and easy.
If you follow me on social media, then you saw this teaser shot last night of me planning to pattern mix LIKE A BOSS. (Click HERE to follow me on facebook and click HERE to follow me on instagram.) I mean, how cute is this outfit? And, yes….I know some of you had a hard time accepting the off set stripes on the sweater, but that is one of the things I liked most about it! Don’t worry, I won’t come to your house and make you wear it! Ha! 😉
Anyway, I couldn’t wait to pair it with this bright and cheery scarf. (Click HERE if you want to see the post from a couple of weeks ago where I styled this same sweater 4 different ways.) Anyway, today you are getting a 5th look with the same sweater. BOOM. 😉
If you saw my post a couple of weeks ago, you know I love this sweater for many reasons…but mainly, because it’s soooooooo soft! I also love how it’s cut (with the v-neck and the rounded bottom hem), and the off set stripes make it interesting! I have a small in the sweater, so I think it’s true to size. If you aren’t a fan of the stripes, but still like the idea of the sweater, it comes in some solid colors as well! You can see me in the plain grey sweater (comes in plus size too) with camo pants on the post HERE. The plain grey sweater would also be super cute with today’s scarf!
So I threw on this striped sweater with my favorite jeans EVER (I paid a fortune for them, but I think they are basically paying me to wear them at this point) and what is shaping up to be my favorite scarf. It’s just so happy and fun! And then I kicked up the pattern mixing even more with my bag. I think it’s such a fun look!

If you aren’t quite “adventurous” enough to mix the plaid with the stripes…never fear….the scarf looks darling with a plain tee as well. Every single thing about the outfit is the same, I just switched out the striped sweater for this black tee! I sized up and am wearing a medium. And pay no attention to how low cut the tee looks on the model. You might not even have to wear a cami with yours, so I don’t know why it looks so low on the models! It’s a great tee. I have it in 3 colors and reach for it a lot. It drapes just right and is very flattering. Click HERE and scroll to the middle of the post to see me in the light grey tee.

Here’s a close up of the booties again if you missed it last week. They are true to size and also come in black and taupe. They are very high, so they are not an all day shoe for most people, but they are actually quite comfy (because they are a wedge and not a heel). Also, I know a lot of you aren’t fans of not wearing socks with booties, but you CAN wear socks with these! They come up high enough on the ankle that a regular ol’ ankle sock works. Click HERE for the wedge booties. They were true to size for me.
So, seeing the outfits side by side…which one is your favorite? I’m a sucker for pattern mixing, so my favorite is the striped sweater combo!
Thank you Nordstrom for sponsoring this post! See y’all back here on Friday for Friday Favorites….including a recap of my Round Top trip! Oh, before you go, here are some shoes on sale I put on social media yesterday…
