The majority of today’s post centers around a special top and 2 great pairs of jeans (frayed hem white jeans and frayed hem denim jeans). But we also get to talk about a new favorite pair of earrings, 2 of my go to bracelets, and my monogammed cork clutch that you’ve seen time and time again. And together, they make up one DARLING outfit. #ifidosaysomyself #andido
I teased y’all with this flat lay last night on social media. (If you like sneak peaks, you can follow me on facebook HERE and instagram HERE.) I mean. ISN’T THE OUTFIT SO CUTE!?!? You’ll get to see it on me in just a second…but right now you need to know to use the code STMT30 for 30% OFF the cork clutch and/or monograms! Remember, you can choose block or script, and you can decide between lots of different colors and patterns!
UPDATE: Thanks to a reader (Hi, Ashley), I’ve done a set of instatories on the clutch with lots of info. about it! Go find me on instagram and check it out! My handle is @sheaffertoldmeto, and the story will expire on Thursday at about 9:00 a.m.
Full disclosure, I got this top in over 2 weeks ago…but for some reason, I just didn’t think it was going to look good on me. Well, I tried it on just yesterday and loved it. Like I was giddy over it. Before I knew it, I’d done the flat lay above (because I hadn’t showered) so I could show it to y’all today (without having to take a picture).
And then just like that, I showered…dried and curled my hair…put on make-up….and took pictures. Because I loved it that much.
If that’s not the sign of a good shirt, well then I don’t know what is. I SHOWERED, DRIED MY HAIR, CURLED MY HAIR, AND PUT ON MAKE UP. On a day I wasn’t planning on doing so. DANG. Now THAT’S a good shirt.
Sizing Tips: This shirt runs large. It runs large enough that the online description recommends sizing down. However, I did not size down, and I got my regular small. And I like the fit. Is it oversized? Yes. But it’s not boxy at all. Also, there is spandex in it, so there’s a little bit of stretch in it (which I enjoy).
When deciding on your sizing, consider the following: In a size medium, it says the petite is 1 1/2 inches shorter in length. I happen to like the length on this top, but I also really love a 1/2 tuck. This was too long for me to do a 1/2 tuck and not have it look weird….but the petite length would probably be perfect for a 1/2 tuck. Just info to consider!

So these are the Articles of Society Carly jeans in white.
In all of my white jeans posts this year, I’ve been wearing the AG frayed hem white jeans. I love them, but they are quite expensive, and y’all have been asking for a recommendation for a less expensive option. I’ve been recommending THESE because they look similar, but I hadn’t tried them on or any other pair that I wanted to recommend. When I realized that the ones I’d been talking about were “the Carly” style that I have in both the denim and blush, I thought I would go ahead and try them and give you my review.
And y’all. They’re good. Reallllllly good. I’ve tried A.O.S. white jeans before, and I didn’t like them. But these Carly ones are different! They’re stretchier and thicker and just better. Click HERE for the white Carly jeans. Please notice that they have a bit of distressing at the knee, where the AG pair does not. So if distressing bothers you, these aren’t for you.
Sizing tip: I’m wearing a 27, which is my regular size, but I’m thinking a size down would be better. Online recommends sizing down.
And then after I showered, dried my hair, curled my hair, put on make up and took outfit pics with white jeans….I grabbed my A.O.S. frayed hem denim to see if the shirt looked good with regular ol’ denim too.
This look was a bit more casual, but I liked it just as much!

Okay, the jeans. If I’ve told you about them once, I’ve told you about them a thousand times. Just get them already. 😉 These are officially called “Carly” jeans as well (just like the white ones above), but I call them #pajamajeans. I’ll say this: I don’t know who “Carly” is, but I like her. And I respect her for the fit she prefers in jeans. I’m wearing a 27, which is true to size for me. I don’t think I could size down in these like I think I could in the white jeans….online recommends to size down if between sizes.
Since my wedges are from last year, I looked for options for y’all. I think these two are the best options out there. I have UGG wedges from last year, and I love them. They are incredibly comfy.
And the turquoise earrings are awesome. They make such a bold statement, they are so different, and they aren’t very heavy! Heavy earrings hurt my ears and give me a headache, but I don’t have any problems with these!
And then to end the snowball effect…I made the decision to completely change my post today because I didn’t want to wait to show y ‘all all of the above. I was just too excited! Here’s a side by side. Which do you like best?
And because I for some reason cannot NOT mention it. I’m of course wearing my favorite strapless bra. A reader left this comment on facebook yesterday and I lol’d: That strapless bra is the best dang bra I have ever put on…with or without straps! – Michele
Right on, Michelle. Right on.
Before you go today, I have some RESTOCK ALERTS and some SALE ALERTS!
The peplum tee and the watercolor rope necklace are BOTH ON SALE! Now, I don’t understand when things go on sale that are on the backorder (because the tee is on backorder in lots of colors and sizes), but it’s an amazing price! And I’m telling you, this is the tee I keep reaching for. I have it in blue, black, and the pink color. Click around, because there are some sizes that are available now…including lots of petites!
I’m wearing a small in the tee (which is true to size for me), and it’s very oversized. I wanted it that way. If you want it a little less blousy, then size down. I’m wearing a 27 in the jeans, which is true to size for me. They are very stretchy. And just fyi, these blush jeans are the “carly” style as well. See. I really like Carly. If between sizes, size down. The flats are true to size.
Size References: I’m wearing a small in the tee and a 27 in the shorts, both true to size for me.

Some of mom’s favorites follow:
Dual Enzyme Polish: After I use this and rinse it off, my skin feels so smooth and clean! And it smells so nice! I’ve been reading a lot lately that if you don’t properly exfoliate your skin as part of you weekly routine, then the other products that you are using won’t penetrate properly…so I make sure to use this AT LEAST once a week, and often twice a week. This product sloughs dull cells and exfoliates with fruit enzymes, and it can also be used on your hands.
Retinol Treatment Complex: I thought my kin was going to be too sensitive for this Retinol product, because I have experienced redness and dryness after using a Retinal Prescription in the past, but this didn’t irritate my skin! In addition to the Retinol, other ingredients in this product are anti-inflammatory, which my mom thinks must help calm and soothe the reaction she had in the past. When talking about wrinkles, she reported that she really only has fine lines, except for a deeper “crease” she had on the left side of her mouth. She said, “I have DEFINITELY seen improvement with that crease. It’s still there, but not as intense as it was.”
Face Oil No 9: I love this product and use it every night. It’s very oily when applied, but my skin must need it because it soaks it right up within a few minutes. I love that it is so quickly absorbed. I also use it in the daytime by putting just a dab on my laugh lines and just helps the appearance of my skin. Just fyi: packaging also states it can be used on dry cuticles and flyaway hair. In addition to quenching dry skin, if you have oily skin, it’s supposed to help balance that!
Age Renewal Super Serum: I feel like the texture of the skin on my chin was very telling of my age. It looked like orange peel like (bumpy looking), and it’s this product that is changing that. It’s smoothed it out considerably, and the tone seems better as well. I also had a dark splotch on the right side of my face (not a spot, but a light splotch), and it’s definitely diminished. I use this morning and night. This product is supposed to improve texture and photo aging, and I definitely see both of those happening. It says it includes peptides and collagen boosters, so I’m now a firm believer in both!
That’s it for today y’all! See you back here on Friday!
