So if you’ve been around here long enough, you know that Nordstrom is my #1 retailer that I pretty much go to for ALL THE THINGS.
I started shopping at Nordstrom about 7 years ago now, soon after I started blogging, and I’ve never looked back. Before I started the blog, I always thought it was too expensive for me, but I learned very quickly that it wasn’t. I’ve heard from so many of you that you used to think this way as well, and I know that there are some of y’all out there who probably still do.
But here’s the deal…Nordstrom definitely has high quality items and they even carry luxury brands, which is what I think initially scared me away (and probably lots of y’all too). But what I know now is that they also have lots of brands and items that are quite affordable.
AND they have spectacular sales quite often.
Combine that with their FREE SHIPPING (with no minimum) and their top notch customer service (it’s THE BEST), and they have a customer for life in me.
In addition to carrying amazing brands that we all know and love like Free People, J Crew, Madewell, Steve Madden, Sam Edelman, etc. Nordstrom also has a great variety of house brands including 1901, Chelsea 28, BP, Caslon, Halogen, Treasure and Bond and more. These brands have actually become some of my favorites to shop.
I’ve had a couple of posts in the last several months that highlighted house brand items, and today I’m excited to feature 4 of my most recent NORDSTROM HOUSE BRAND purchases! You’ll see 2 sweaters, a sweatshirt, and a pair of booties. All 4 items are from 4 different beloved Nordstrom brands, and all are welcome additions to my closet.

KELLY GREEN SWEATER and LEOPARD BOOTIES
If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times….Kelly green is one of my favorite colors to wear.
I hit the jackpot with this sweater.
cable sweater / sunglasses / statement hoop earrings / cross body bag / jeans / leopard booties
The color, the cable knit pattern, and the mock neck that is “lovingly unfinished” all come together to make this one of my new favorite sweaters. I also love the wide band at the hem and the cuffs. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium and it’s a very relaxed fit.
The sweater is Treasure and Bond, the Nordstrom house brand that donates 2.5% of net sales to organizations that work to empower youth. I love a brand that gives back.

The earrings are light as a feather, but they manage to still make quite a statement because of their size.
The sunnies are my favorite pair of sunglasses I own. They are sturdy, I love the shape, and the style goes with everything. I have them in matte black as well.

The bracelets are all Kendra Scott pieces that I’ve collected over the last several years. I love wearing them separately as well as stacking them with other bracelets, but I think they look wonderful stacked all together.

The jeans deserve a minute.
They are my newest pair of Wit and Wisdom jeans, and I’m wearing them in all 3 outfits in today’s post. They are a great medium wash and have a tiny bit of distressing on them, but just enough to make them interesting. These are higher-waisted than any of my other jeans, and I love the way they fit.
They are crazy comfortable and boast the slimming Ab-solution power-mesh panels that we’ve all grown to love. They also have a waistband with interior control and booty-lift construction. HECK YES.
Here’s the thing, I’m to the point in my life where I pretty much flat out refuse to wear jeans that don’t have stretch in them. I tried on a pair of jeans a couple of weeks ago that didn’t have adequate stretch, and I took them right back off. I was personally offended. #mamaneedssomestretchinherjeans But what’s great about this brand is that they don’t stretch out and sag by the end of the day. For size reference, I’m wearing a 4, but size down if between sizes.

The bag comes in 6 colors, but I always love a great cognac bag (this one is officially called “tan”). The whipstitching on the perimeter of the bag and the cross body strap lend a little bit of a Western chic vibe to the bag, and I totally dig it.
cross body bag / jeans / leopard booties
I’ve been wearing a pair heeled leopard booties since early Fall, but they’ve been sold out for awhile now, which has bummed a lot of you out. In addition to that, I’ve had lots of requests for some flat booties since all I’ve been wearing are tall chunky heeled booties or wedge booties.
WELL! I FINALLY FOUND SOME LOW PROFILE BOOTIES THAT I LOVE! And guess what, they are from BP (a Nordstrom house brand). I grabbed the leopard, but they also come in brown and black. They are very comfy to walk in, I love the “wooden” heel and the cut out, and the leopard pattern is great. True to size for me.
I’ve always loved green and leopard together. If you’re not a bootie girl, this sweater would also be great with my favorite leopard flats.

LOVE SWEATSHIRT
This sweatshirt is cute and comfy. It’s also very timely with Valentine’s Day right around the corner.
LOVE sweatshirt / sunglasses / earrings / tote bag / jeans / leopard sneakers
I MEAN. It’s DARLING, right? AND it’s lined with a super soft fleece, making it extra cozy. I grabbed a medium.
It’s from 1901, one of Nordstrom’s newest house brands on the scene. The 1901 brand represents timeless style with a modern twist. Think crisp cotton, preppy vibes, and vibrant colors and patterns.
The tote is reversible (cognac or black), just under $50, and it holds my 15″ laptop. This bag is great for travel, but it would also make a wonderful and super affordable work bag, or just an everyday bag.

I picked up these leopard sneakers last year, and I still adore them. I love that they just slip on, I love this leopard pattern (although there are others to choose from), and I love that they are a dressier than a regular ol’ sneaker. True to size for me.

Such a cute and casual look.

IVORY SWEATER AND BOOTIES
I’ve always loved a classic ivory sweater, and this one is very pretty.
It’s from Halogen, a Nordstrom house brand known for work to weekend clothes, shoes, and accessories. The brand is made up of wardrobe boosting essentials, like the crew neck cashmere sweater I now own in 3 colors (and have been talking about since September).

This sweater isn’t cashmere, but it sure is soft. It’s a bit fancier than the basic cashmere I’ve been wearing. It has a subtle rolled neck, and the detail is really lovely. I’m wearing a small, and I would normally wear a medium in a sweater like this, so I would suggest sizing down. It also comes in a very soft blue and soft yellow.

The earrings are STUNNING.
I used to not be able to wear the Danielle size earrings from Kendra Scott, but they’ve done something to them to decrease their weight, and I can now wear them all day long. I love that the size makes such a statement and this abalone stone is absolutely beautiful. They look great with this cream sweater, and I’ve also worn them with black, with green, with blue, and with blush. In fact, my favorite color to pair them with is blush because you really start to notice to notice the blush colored veining throughout.

And I always love a great bracelet stack.

You can really see the whipstitch detail here that I spoke about earlier on the bag.

You can’t get much more classic than an ivory sweater and jeans. It’s a great look that anybody can wear.

If you haven’t previously given Nordstrom house brands a try, I hope this post encourages you to do so! I feel certain they will become some of your favorite brands too!

Thanks for all the great recommendations, Sheaffer!! Maybe you already saw, but Walmart recently restocked their Time and Tru leopard scrunch back sneakers that are under $10! You featured them awhile back and they sold out so quickly and I was kicking myself for not buying them the minute you recommended them! So I pounced this morning 🙂 Just wanted to give you and all us Sheaffer groupies a heads up before they’re out again! 🙂 thank you for all you do to keep us all stylin!

Looking for some new blogs to follow. Would you mind sharing who you follow and why? Like 2 faith based ones and perhaps one or two more fashion/lifestyle blogs. You always have super recommendations.

Hi, Sarah! So I used to be a big blog follower, but I’m mot anymore. I only read 5 blogs a day. and they are my real life friends. Of course I’ll hop over to other blogs now and then if I see something interesting on instagragram, but when you’re writing a blog all the time, it seems that you dom’t really make time to read them anymore. So sorry I’m not more help! xoxo

I don’t care what anyone says to convince me otherwise, Nordstrom has never been nor will they ever be an “affordable” place to shop! Everything is very cute and I get they have good sales and great quality items, but they are most certainly not an affordable place to shop for the everyday person. 🙂 🙂
