This post is sponsored by Nordstrom and ShopStyle.
So if you’ve been around here long enough, you know that Nordstrom is my #1 retailer that I pretty much go to for ALL THE THINGS. Even during this crazy time that we are all going through, I’ve been ordering things off of Nordstrom to make the time I’m spending at home more cozy and comfortable for me. First off, I ordered this bra (no need for underwire right now and the reviews are fantastic!) and another one of my favorite fringe throw blankets. Spoiler Alert: I’ve got a post coming up next week with some of the new cozies I’ve ordered, and at the end of today’s post you’ll get a quick round up of some of the pieces I found while browsing online.
But before we get to the collage, I’ve got an outfit that is made up of pieces that are perfect for now (while at home) and for later (once life returns back to normal). The outfit features several Nordstrom house brands , and I have to say, their house bands have absolutely become some of my favorite brands to shop. They are brands that I often search first on the site, and I’m always quite pleased with the quality and affordability. Combine that with Nordtrom’s FREE SHIPPING (with no minimum) and their top notch customer service (it’s THE BEST), and they have a customer for life in me.
So today I’m featuring 3 of my new favorite house brand purchases. The sunglasses, the earrings, and the sweater are all Nordstrom house brands.

The sunglasses are from BP and ONLY $25! These large tortoise shell frames spoke to me, but BP always has a super selection of on trend and affordable sunglasses.
BP also has lots of cozy items that are all very well priced. #givemeallthecozyrightnow
The teardrop earrings are from Halogen, another Nordstrom house brand. They are gold hammered metal and so super light that you won’t even know you have them on! Halogen actually has a large selection of totally classic and affordable jewelry.

This cotton slub sweater is on repeat over here because we keep it cool in the house, and most of the time I like to have on something with sleeves. It comes in several colorways, but I was immediately drawn to the color combo of these stripes. And I love that it’s got a lot of texture to it (it has a bit of a handmade feel), but it’s still soft.
I’m totally able to do a 1/2 tuck with it, and totally will, but I know that there are lots of you that prefer sweaters that look great without a 1/2 tuck. And this one does! I’m wearing the small and it’s a relaxed fit.
Caslon actually has a lots of pieces that are great for days spent at home. Pieces that are still really cute, but where comfort is key! Like this romper (click HERE to see it on me).

And how do you like my new high waist raw hem skinny jeans?
BECAUSE I LOVE THEM.
I’ve found that actually getting dressed at home helps me feel normal, but I of course want to still be comfy. Jeans like this are the answer for me. When talking about comfort, I basically think that most Wit and Wisdom jeans are just a step away from pajamas. #andilovemesomepajamajeans And to be clear, I’m not getting dressed every day. There are several days that I’ve changed from my daytime pajamas to my nighttime pajamas. I hope that’s not just me. Haha!
These jeans are definitely a bit higher waisted than most of my jeans, but they aren’t too high at all. And they have the Ab-Solution technology that we all love. Since they are Wit and Wisdom, they obviously have a good amount of stretch in them too.
For size reference, I would recommend sizing down, I’m in a 2 Petite (I’m almost 5’4″).

The tote is one you’ve seen here time and time again. There’s not much to it, but it’s a great everyday bag that can hold a lot. It’s big enough to throw a laptop in, and it’s also great for travel. #oneday I always find myself zhushing it up a bit by tying a coordinating bandana around one of the straps. There are lots of great options to choose from right now!
And y’all, the leopard sneakers are fabulous. They are on trend, true to size, and they were comfy right out of the box for me.

I love the entire outfit.
The sweater and the jeans are definitely comfy enough for a day spent at home, but when styled, they will be great for going out too! Can you even imagine when we all get to leave our houses again?

And as mentioned at the top of the post, I’ve also got a great COZY collage for y’all today! I’ve been getting so many requests for stay at home cozy clothes and items, so I decided to throw together a collection of things that have caught my eye. Many of the items featured are under $50, and they would all help to make your long days at home a little more enjoyable.
1. pullover hoodie / 2. sleep shirt / 3. scrunchies / 4. sleep shirt and joggers / 5. short pajamas / 6. cozy hoodie / 7. candle / 8. throw / 9. frayed edge quilt / 10. cozy shorts / 11. open front cardigan / 12. cozy top and cozy joggers
That’s it for today, everybody!
I hope you enjoyed a bit of mindless fashion inspiration and normalcy in today’s post.
Please know that I’m continually praying for all of you. Especially for those of you that are already sick, those with compromised immune systems, those that live alone, and those of you that are healthcare workers (or families of healthcare workers). I’m also praying for others that are continuing to do their jobs (like grocery store workers and restaurant owners that are staying open for TO GO orders) while still coming into contact with the general public. Prayers are also being lifted up for teachers as they learn to teach our children in a new way. And I know prayers are also needed for infinite patience for parents at home with kids right now. So many of you are trying your best to juggle parenting duties with your work schedules, and that’s not an easy task.
Anxiety is so easy to succumb to right now with worries over health and finances, so managing that anxiety is also at the top of my prayer list for everybody.
And finally, I’m prayerful and hopeful that during this time that we are being mindful of soaking up extra family time and giving extra love when possible. I continue to hear heartwarming stories of people helping people, and I’m so inspired by these stories. There are so many great humans that are going above and beyond for each other. If you yourself have done something or if you’ve heard a story of hope or how to help, please leave a comment! I’m thinking of compiling a list that we can all refer to!
Lots of love to all of you. xoxo

I got that sweater when you first showed it on the blog. I love it!!! I probably could have sized down, but didn’t wanna go thru the hassle of returning & buying another one, so I just kept it. HAHAHA!!!!! Thanks again for keeping up on blogging!!!!!!

Now, why do I not have that striped sweater?!
Laci says
Thank you for the prayers! My husband works grocery stores and I work local govt and we both are working still and it’s causing me severe anxiety that we are going to carry something home to my kids. Love your blog and reading my morning blogs feels normal and I need normal right now!
Sheaffer says
God bless your family, Laci! Thank you for doing what you do. Xoxo
Lorie says
Would love some ideas for games/activities that are good to keep kids entertained during all this time at home…both young children and older ones. I think it would be great to order something to be delivered to my grandkids that would be new and different to do while their parents are struggling to work at home.
Sheaffer says
Great ideas, Lorie! I’ll see what I can pull together! xoxo

I adore that entire outfit on you! Very cute!

Totally psyched to read about all these Nordstrom deals while the world is in crisis. ? I normally love to read your posts, but maybe during a time like this you should take a break from selling clothes for a bit. ?♀️
Sheaffer says
Hi, Ashley! I definitely understand and hear your point of view. I was of course worried about these types of feelings from readers, so I did address this issue last week (in case you didn’t see that post). In last Wednesday’s post I shared a little bit of why I am continuing to post for now. I have been so pleasantly surprised that everybody has been so supportive and eager for a little bit of normal in their day when reading the posts. Yours is actually the first comment I’ve received against posting, although I am sure there are others that probably feel this way that just haven’t commented. And take today’s post, it’s sponsored. It was a contract that I signed last month before any of this happened. I actually have two more sponsored posts next week which were also accepted before the outbreak. This blog is my job, and although it’s an unconventional job, I still need to complete my responsibilities. Again, I hear you and I do understand. I can only hope you’ll stick with me through this! xoxo

I thought I’d have mixed feelings about these types of posts knowing that some families won’t have expendable income right now…but after the first few days on lock down and the intense, negative news all day I was/am happy to see something else that brings us back to what was our “norm” and take our minds off of the eminent doom (as it feels like). Plus, I totally get the business obligations for sponsored things. Keep it up! Your blog is always a ray of light and I swear if I lived in your area we’d be friends and get margaritas and queso together. =)))) So much of your humor sounds like it’s straight out of my head! XOXO
Sheaffer says
Hi, Rebecca! Going out for margaritas and queso sounds amazing!!!!! Thanks for the support and kind words! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
Cindy Wallander says
Love this sweater – I purchased it when you first showed it! Yay! 🙂
Thank you for keeping everything as “normal” as possible right now. When I see that I have an email is from you, I get happy just knowing how you will make me smile.
We need you and your sweet personality (and prayers) so much right now!
xo!
Sheaffer says
Thank you, Cindy! Very sweet. xoxo
Monica Seeley says
Please don’t take a break, Sheaffer!! We do need the normalcy! And we do need to support our retailers where possible. And, with everyone at home, it’s good to have some inspiration to keep myself looking nice for my husband and family. They deserve it too, you know! It’s good for their morale when mom looks nice. It’s an act of kindness towards our nearest and dearest.
Sheaffer says
Thank you for the encouragement, Monica! Xoxo
Sheryl says
Sheaffer, I have been a faithful reader of yours for years. While I understand that you have prior commitments to do sponsored posts, I think it would be more appropriate if you minimize the promotion/selling of clothes and accessories while the country is going through this unprecedented crisis. Many people, including those reading your blog, lost their jobs or are unsure they will have a job to come back to after things return to normal. Therefore, a blog that invites readers to buy more, when many cannot afford to, is something I personally don’t find appropriate in this trying time where a lot of us are struggling both financially and mentally. Perhaps you can write on subjects that uplift your readers without focusing on selling things.
Sheaffer says
Hey, Sheryl! It’s a delicate balance for sure, and because people are worried about money, I do understand the sensitive nature of these posts. I never want people to spend money they don’t need to be spending, so it’s my hope that those that shouldn’t buy things right now won’t. Others have made the case for supporting the economy, and I hope that those that still can will! In these unknown times, I’ve decided to keep trying to do my job as long as I can. I already have content planned for this week and next (including a couple of more sponsored posts), but I’m definitely going to look into finding items to promote from small businesses. I’m teaming up with Accessory Concierge next Wednesday, and hope to support other small businesses after that. I also like the idea trying to sprinkle in some uplifting content, so thank you for that suggestion! These are such unknown times for all of us, and I know we are just all trying to figure things out. xoxo
Maggie says
We need you Sheaffer, especially your sense of humor! Thank you for posting during this time. We do need to support our economy and with Nordstrom’s customer service I would love to support them whenever possible! Prayers for everyone! ❤️
Sheaffer says
Thank you so much for the support and words of encouragement, Maggie!!! xoxo
Terri says
Thank you for continuing to post and for your sweet spirit with those who object. You’re doing exactly what everyone is supposed to be doing–working from home! My job has not been significantly impacted (not yet, anyway) by the crisis, so I am actually making it a point to keep spending and donating money as I normally would. I am focusing on small businesses that are being hit the hardest, but Nordstrom pays a lot of people also (including you!), and it is practically my patriotic duty to shop right now. 🙂 I don’t like that sweater, though; I don’t love my country enough to wear THAT! But the jeans? A definite maybe!
Sheaffer says
Hi,Terri! Your patriotic duty!!!! I just lol’d! 🙂 Thanks for the smile! xoxo
