Shopping with Sheaffer: The LOFT

I hope you ladies were able to decode my hint from yesterday.

I told you I was going to be shopping at a store that rhymes with The Boft.
It was hard, I know.

Yes…..I found myself at The LOFT.
It’s like I’m The Riddler or something.
You better sit down and get comfy, because I think I tried on and loved at least 1/2 of the store.
And for those of you that are new to the blog, The LOFT is like my mother ship.
It’s not uncommon for me to be dressed head to toe in LOFT, like here.

There is one very important thing we need to discuss before we get started.
The 4 year old was with me during this trip.  

Sigh. 

I have no doubt that I would have tried on at least 20 more items had he not been with me.

There was SO MUCH cute stuff that was calling to me. 

Like these sleeveless shirts that are now must-haves for my new fall uniform.

The cream one was GORG.

It was a really good weight (kind of heavy if that makes sense, and not see through at all).  I could see it being worn with dressy slacks, every colored cord or brightly colored skinny jean you could imagine, or even with regular old jeans.

The taupe one on the left with the purple feathers (I think they’re feathers) made me want to slap my mamma.
Just kidding.
I’ve never known why people say that, but I wanted to try it out.

I showed uncharacteristic restraint, and I only came home with one of them.

But let’s not kid ourselves, as soon as the other one goes on sale, I’ll be going back.

On the left I also had on some forest green Marissa pants (LOVE the Marissa pants, they are a PERFECT fit for me), and on the right I had on some hot pink skinny jeans (on sale, and then an additional 50% off right now)!

I’m not normally big into dresses, but I LOVED this one.
 I’ve always liked the idea of a sweater dress (although I don’t think I’ve ever actually owned one), and the chevron stripe did me in.

Carly – I need your help on this one.

How would you style it?  What color boots?  Should the boots be tall or short?  Would you wear it with heels?  What color/patterned tights?

LOVE this next combo.

This long sleeve tee is too cute.  It has a little zipper in the back, and I really liked the eggplant and yellow together.  I threw on this grey blazer with it and felt like it was just the right combination of old school and quirky that just seemed to just work.

(I’m wearing my own jeans, and that’s my necklace that was from LOFT a couple of seasons ago.)

Next, I tried on a couple of more shirts.

The teal sleeveless shell is a dressy material, and I can totally see it with dressy skinny black pants, heels, and really sparkly jewelry for a holiday party.  It could totally be fancied up like that.
 It also looks great with jeans.
I love clothing with a split personality.

This red sweater is banded at the waist, has a great neckline, has awesome pleating detail, and it tied in the back.

Oh…and let’s just talk about this necklace.

I think it will pretty much go with anything I try to put it with.

 It’s hard to tell in the picture, but this next shirt is very light and airy, and it has these little fold-over pleats at the top that are a nice detail.

I brought this one home with me too.

It is going to look great with a pair of dark skinny jeans and some tall brown boots.

I can see this with my HUE leggings, with my coral cords, with my black skinny pants and heels,  with just some regular old jeans and tall boots, etc…….
You get the idea.

 Right about this time, the 4 year old started incessantly chanting
“I want Tom and Jerry.  I want Tom and Jerry.  I want Tom and Jerry.”
It was time to go.
 So, since my 4 year old cut the trip short (I forgave him because he’s so dang cute),
