Hi! I follow some of the bloggers on instagram that are going to be a part of the Gibson Women’s Day collection that launches on Friday. Since I’m always the same size as you, I’m hoping you’ll be doing a full review! Will you be talking about the pieces on the blog? – Alyson
Hi, Alyson! I’m not doing a comprehensive review of the entire collection, but I will be highlighting my favorite 4 pieces today! The line goes live at Nordstrom at 7:00 a.m., so check back again here later this morning to see what my faves are! I’m totally smitten with a couple of the pieces, and I know y’all will be too!
UPDATE: The Gibson x International Women’s Day Collection is NOW LIVE! I’ve been so excited about this collaboration, and I’m thrilled that it’s finally here. Gibson partnered with 9 women to celebrate diversity and empowerment, and they really hit it out of the park with the collection. Most of the items come in regular sizes, petites, and plus size as well! The easiest way to see all the links is to just head to the landing page HERE.
Let’s start with this ruffle sleeve pin dot blouse. It has a subtle little puff sleeve and the sweetest little gathers and ruffle at the bottom. I like the arm coverage, as I know many of y’all do too. The material is so soft and stretchy, and I think the look is just beautiful. This top is definitely on the dressier side, and could easily be worn with skinny pants or trousers with heels. I love it dressed down here with jeans and leopard flats.
I think I’m going to have to grab this top in the blush as well. It will be fantastic with white jeans or black slacks. Even a pencil skirt! I think this top is true to size.
this ruffle sleeve pin dot blouse / earrings / cross body bag / higher waisted raw hem skinny jeans / pointy toe leopard flats
Let’s talk about THE JEANS before we get to the other tops.
I’m working with Kut from the Kloth again today, and I’m in my 4th week as a Brand Ambassador! I’m having so much fun introducing a new KUT product each week, and I’ve got to say, I’m a fan of this brand ambassador gig. I love that it gives me the excuse to both seek out and personally try lots of new KUT items! These higher waisted raw hem skinny jeans are the items I’m featuring (AND LOVING) this week!
They’re perfectly stretchy, incredibly comfortable, and very slimming. They have a great raw hem, and I think the higher waist makes them feel totally chic. I will wear them with Converse, with sneakers, with sandals, and with wedges. In the colder months they’ll be awesome with booties and tall boots. I’m a big ol’ fan. They would look great dressed up with heels for a night out as well!
They are true to size, I’m wearing a 4.
Let’s get to the next top in the collection!
This top is sweet, and I know I’ll be reaching for it a lot. It comes in this pretty blue and a soft yellow as well. I love the 3/4 sleeves and the darling ties. It will be great with white jeans and denim shorts.
And y’all. The tassel earrings are ONLY $6.99 right now!
swiss dot tee with tie sleeves / tassel earrings / higher waisted raw hem jeans / cognac tote / cognac greek sandals
When I asked for this top, I actually requested it in the green colorway, but it arrived in the yellow. AND I LOVE IT. It is so bright and cheery. I love the split neck, the button tab sleeves, and the asymmetrical tulip hem. It is a bit longer in the back, so it covers your back side! It’s going to be awesome with white jeans, and it’s definitely dressy enough to wear with a pair of nice pants to work as well. I sized up to a medium because I knew it wasn’t going to have any give, but it’s a relaxed fit, so I could have stuck with my normal small. I would say it’s true to size.
cross front tunic/ plus size tunic /turquoise hoop earrings / higher waisted raw hem jeans / tall cognac wedges
For those of you that like your upper arms to be covered, this tee delivers! I immediately fell for this bright green (you know Kelly green is my favorite all the time), but it will be truly perfect for St. Patrick’s Day! It also comes in white and a bright sunshiny yellow!
It’s a thick ponte knit, so I think the white one will be great and not require a cami. Click over to the site to see the cute little tie neck in the back. This one is true to size.
And I want to say again how much I love these higher waisted jeans . They are’t weirdly high, they are just perfectly high! More like a higher mid-rise I guess. I LOVE THEM. I’m wearing them with all 4 of the Gibson tops I highlighted today!

I hope y’all love the collection as much as I do! Make sure you click HERE to see all of the other amazing pieces!

Hey, Sheaffer! I just wanted to let you know that because of you, I’m now a loyal Brandless customer. So many of their snacks are my favorites (especially the cinnamon glazed almonds! OMG!), and I love that everything gets delivered right to my doorstep. I’ve also switched to lots of their cleaning products. – Stephanie
Hi, Stephanie! I’ve received lots of messages from readers that are very similar to your e-mail. I’m so happy that so many of you have trusted me to take the leap to try a new brand! And great news, I’m working with Brandless again today for a March update on new favorite products that I want to share with y’all! Also, I haven’t tried those almonds, but I just put them in my cart for my next delivery. They sound amazing, so thanks for the tip!
I continue to talk about Brandless on the blog because I truly love the brand, what they stand for, and their quality products. Click HERE to get back to my first post in September if you want to know more about the brand itself. (In a nutshell, they make “better-for-you” quality products. All of the products on the site are non-GMO, sometimes organic, fair trade, kosher, and gluten free.)
Today I’m going to talk about some of my current favorites. I find that I now have enough Brandless product favorites that I’m reaching for at least 1 product a day. And I’m so excited, because they just added pet products! And although I have no use for them, they also added baby products too!
So, I mentioned their new pet products last month when I ordered them, but now we have them….AND OUR DOGS ARE OBSESSED. Seriously. They love all the treats, but they go NUTS over the freeze dried chicken breast pieces.
They love the taste of course, but I love that their treats are protein-first, which means meat, poultry or fish lead the ingredients list. They’re also made without animal meal, corn, wheat or soy.
Some of the other dog treats and products are linked below too. We use everything in the picture except the collars, because our big pups apparently need a much larger collar. And we were so happy to find the itch soothing spray. Our boys often get places that itch, and when they scratch them, the spots become irritated. This spray seems to calm the redness, reduce the itch, and do the trick!
I took some really cute videos earlier this week of Carter feeding the boys treats, and I’ll upload those on instastories sometime this weekend.
pet waste bags / freeze dried chicken breast pieces / duck jerky treats / salmon and rice treats
dog disc toy / calming chews (sold out at this time)/ itch soothing spray / dog collars
Moving on from pets to humans….Brandless now carries a really great selection of bake ware, knives, and other kitchen essentials!
I ordered the acacia wood utensil holder and filled it with lots of kitchen tools! They are all super functional (I love the silicone), but they are pretty as well (the copper accents are gorgeous)! They actually look great out on the counter in the handy dandy holder, and I love that leaving them out provides super easy access for me!
acacia handle silicone spatula / copper coated slotted serving spoon / acacia handle silicone pasta fork / acacia handle silicone slotted turner / acacia handle silicone slotted spoon /
In addition to e-mails and comments about Brandless, I’ve also received several messages from readers who have made AND LOVE this salad! It is definitely one of my favorite at home lunches.
It has butter lettuce, mandarin oranges, canned pineapple, leftover grilled chicken, 1/2 an avocado, Brandless dried fruit and nut salad topper, Wonton strips for extra crunch, a little bit of honey mustard dressing and the organic sesame ginger dressing . I use the dressing all the time on salads, for a marinade on grilled chicken, and I toss it in stir fry recipes too!

Hi, Mrs. Wilson!
That would be a HARD NO from me. #nevergonnahappen My hair is super wavy in the very back and straight as a board on the sides. It’s TERRIBLE. Some of you might remember that I’ve answered this question before, but it’s a question I continue to get A LOT, so I wanted to address it again!
I always joke the my hair is one of the main reasons I can’t go on Survivor. Well that, and the lack of food. And the extreme heat. And the bugs. And the living accommodations.
When I’m in a hurry, I dry my hair quickly just pulling it straight with a regular brush while using the best hairdryer in the history of the world. And I’m not just saying that. It truly is the very best hairdryer IN THE WORLD. It’s crazy expensive, but I’ve never once regretted the purchase. After drying my hair, I pop these rollers in my hair. It’s still kind of lumpy and bumpy underneath, but the rollers smooth it out a bit and give it a nice soft curl.
When I need/want my hair to look it’s best, I actually section it off and dry each section with a round brush. I really concentrate on pulling out the curl and eliminating all the lumps and bumps. AND THEN…even after I take care drying it…I still pop it in the rollers. The curl holds, the rollers seem to smooth out flyaways, and I’m not sure how this is the case…but I swear these rollers make my hair shinier. I of course have no scientific evidence to support that, but I believe it to be true.
I use this shampoo and conditioner, and I can’t imagine that will ever change. I was lucky to have healthy and shiny hair most of my life, but at some point that changed. My mom’s hairdresser at the time recommended these products, and within just 2-3 days, my hair had been restored to it’s previous healthy state. They are totally worth the price tag. I recommend getting the duo WITH THE PUMPS. The bottles are so big, and the pumps make dispensing the product so much easier.
I use this hair spray. It smells amazing, and I love the flexible hold it provides. Oh, I almost forgot! I also swear by this blow dry spray. It provides intense heat protection, reduces drying time, eliminates frizz, and smooths and softens the hair. It’s awesome.

YES! These are the only no show socks that don’t make me fly into a rage. All others I’ve tried slip off my foot and make me absolutely crazy.

Hi, ladies! I actually get lots of questions similar to these, wondering how I organize my closet and all of my clothes. I know I need to do a closet tour, but to be honest, my closet is in bad shape right now. I’m unsure when it got out of control in there (because I’ve actually been great about keeping it super organized and clean since I had it transformed by California Closets back in 2016!), but it went haywire several months ago.
So today, I’ll just walk you through it with a limited number of pictures (that don’t show the crazy).
When I had my closet redone, the biggest change I made was how I stored my jeans and shorts. I used to hang them, but now I fold them on open shelving in the closet. It’s a game changer, y’all. They are easier to see, and they are also easier to put up in between wearings.
I swear by these felt covered hangers. I buy the shirt/dress hangers specifically, because I prefer how they are a bit more narrow than the pants hangers. The first time I purchased the hangers, I bought 1 set of 10 “just to see”. WELL. I COULDN’T BELIEVE WHAT A DIFFERENCE THEY MADE IN MY CLOSET. The felt of course helps the clothes to stay secure on the hangers, but it’s the space saving element that blew my mind. I would say they come close to reducing the space needed by 50%. I immediately bought 90 more so I could have 100 in my closet and felt they were definitely worth the investment. After that, all of my “regular” hangers just weren’t good enough anymore. I started buying packs at T.J. Maxx, Target, etc., but none of them were quite as great as the originals. Still, the knock offs are an amazing deal, and even if you have to deal with some broken ones here or there, they are still a good way to streamline your closet.
Click HERE for a 30 pack on Amazon for only $14.99. I would recommend getting the light colored vs. the black, because many reviewers talked about the black rubbing off onto clothes.
As far as necklace storage goes, I hang necklaces on belt racks and it works so well! Click HERE for some belt rack options from The Container Store.
Click HERE for some necklace display options from Amazon. The one below has to be my favorite. I love that you can hang the bars at whatever height you need (based on necklace length) and that it has an earring bar too!
I store the majority of my earrings on this framed pin board I got from HomeGoods (years ago). I found a similar one HERE on Amazon!
And you can see how I use decorative bowls to store some of my bracelets. I’ve picked them up at different places, and I have several more not in the shot. The bowls are pretty and are perfect for piling in bracelets.
(This picture is from the post I did with Soma last year. If you want to see my thoughts on some of their bras, undies, and pajamas, click HERE. Spoiler Alert: I LOVE THEM. Especially their no line undies and the Cool Nights pajamas. I’m dying over the new leopard shorts pj set with the little ties at the shoulders!)
*******************************************************
Hi, Jean Marie! This is an easy one for me.
And for those that prefer a thong, there’s no other option than Hanky Panky (I prefer the original rise thong).
******************************************************
Gosh, I don’t travel much Kristi. But my Barrington totes are perfect for when I do, whether it’s a flight or a road trip. I prefer the Savannah tote (it comes in leather too!) for everyday, but the St. Anne is really great for travel. They both zip, but the St. Anne is just a little big bigger to hold all the things for travel days. I can fit my wallet, my make up bag, a couple of bottles of water, my laptop, and I can even put a jacket or sweater in it as well. If you are interested in creating a bag of your own, you can use the code STMTSAVE10 on your entire Barrington purchase! You should at least go play around on their site. It’s SO MUCH FUN!
As you can see, Barrington has been very good to me over the years.
When flying, I always have a light jacket (you know I recommend this one) or a blardigan, and I like to have a scarf in my bag (this is my favorite scarf and it’s PERFECT for travel). It is so soft and so big, but it’s not overwhelming. I like to be able to easily strip off a layer if it’s hot or throw a layer on if it’s chilly. Plus, a scarf can double as a pillow! (Click HERE to see what I wore to travel to L.A. with Gibson, and click HERE to see what I wore to travel to New York with my girls. You can click HERE to see how I tie the scarf I mentioned above on a tote bag.)
And I just started using these packing cubes when I ordered them for my first ever Amazon haul post, BUT NOW I’M LEGIT OBSESSED. I’ve had friends talking about them for years, but we don’t travel much, so I never really saw the need to get them. I WAS WRONG. I use them now even when we just go to the ranch. You will not believe how much you can pack in these bags, and it will change your packing game!
I purchased the 5 piece set with 4 cubes and a shoe bag.
Below you see the 2nd to the largest bag in the set. LOOK HOW MUCH DIFFERENCE IT MAKES!
On the right you see 4 sweaters and a Barefoot Dreams poncho (that is super plush and thick ). On the right, you see the packing cube that is filled with all of the items on the left. To provide reference, look at the stack on the left as compared to the striped tee that is draped over the chair on the right. The stack on the left is much higher, and the packing cube definitely keeps thing more organized and more compact for your suitcase. The site also claims the cubes help clothes remain more wrinkle free, and I totally agree. Those of you that have large families could even color code your packing and assign certain colors to certain family members!
Click HERE for these exact packing cubes. I will say, I ordered a set from Nordstrom to compare, and the Nordstrom set is not nearly as good. They are more rigid and don’t fit nearly as much as these.

Great question! I’ve actually had several people ask about the recap “process”.
I try to only really watch the episode once…although since I write as I go, there is a lot of pausing of the show as I jot down notes. So, I typically watch the first hour of the show on Monday night (but it probably takes close to an hour and a half or so), jotting down notes the entire time. I love it when I can watch the entire show on Monday night, but that’s not always possible. So I typically watch the 2nd hour on Tuesday morning, watching and pausing, just like the 1st hour.
After I watch the entire episode, I go back in and fill in my notes. My notes are never entirely flushed out. They are typically just full of information and dialogue, and typically a funny idea here or there. I can usually just go back over my notes and fill in informational text and funny thoughts, but I sometimes have to go back and re-watch a particular part of the episode for more ideas, but I try not to do that (mainly just to save time).
After I write the entire recap, then I know where I need pictures. So I quickly fast forward through the show, and stop and grab a pic where I know I need one. This is my very least favorite part because it takes at least 30 minutes. Finding just the right part of the show that I need a picture of takes time, and then it usually takes a lot of pausing here and there to grab a picture where the people in the pic don’t have crazy looks on their faces.
Next, I load the pictures into the recap.
After that’s done, I read the recap from start to finish and make edits. I usually do this several times. It’s at this point where I erase thoughts that I initially thought were funny, but I realize aren’t funny at all. Ha! It’s also here where I add new funny thoughts.
WHEW!
Recap writing takes me quite awhile, so it tickles me to death that so many of y’all love them so much. Thanks for reading them, and thanks for telling your friends about them! I appreciate that so much!
Click HERE to get to the tab where you can scroll through ALL of my Bachelor posts! And if you didn’t see my recap of this week’s show, GO RIGHT NOW! Even if you don’t watch The Bachelor, give it a chance! Monday’s episode truly was THE MOST DRAMATIC EPISODE EVER. #forrealthistime

Hi, Lindsay! I just purchased this belt for myself a couple of weeks ago (in both black and brown), and I really like them both! I don’t think I’ve shown either one yet on me, but you’ve seen the brown one already in this flat lay.

Hey, Cheryl! I’ve had SO MANY PEOPLE ask this over the years! I’ll post a video on instagram at some point over the weekend showing you how I do it. There’s really nothing to it!
*****************************************************
I posted a serum on Facebook earlier this week.
People are screaming and shouting about this Vitamin C serum, so when I saw it go 40% OFF, I finally ordered it for myself. DARK SPOTS, BE GONE! COME ON BRIGHT SKIN! I’m supposed to receive it today!
When reading the reviews, not everybody has had dramatic results, but this comment from an STMT reader has me so excited to receive it:

When I did the facebook post on the serum, I did have a couple of people ask if I was still using Colleen Rothschild products. The answer is HECK YES! I continue to use and love her products, and I will NEVER stop using the cleansing balm (I’m so excited it now comes in a jumbo size!) and the dual enzyme polish. Still, there was so much buzz about the above serum that I just had to throw it in my Amazon cart!
I am excited to try the newest CR tumeric mask. It’s supposed brighten skin and help balance, calm, and clarify the complexion. Can you tell I want some bright skin? If you purchase the mask now, you will receive a FREE CR mask brush and mini cleansing balm!
And right now, you can use the code stmt20 for 20% OFF your entire Colleen Rothschild purchase!

Hey, Blair! First of all, when I read your ig handle, all I saw was “blardigan”. Ha!
I went to undergraduate at The University of Oklahoma and majored in Communication Sciences and Disorders. If I remember correctly, the first 2 years of college were filled with lots of basic college courses. During the last 2 years of undergraduate, my classes were at the Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City. That’s where the speech stuff really started coming in to play. Lots of anatomy and physiology classes, and TONS of studying.
A Master’s Degree is required to be a speech pathologist, and I moved back to Dallas to attend the University of Texas at Dallas for their well known program.

Hi, Seri! (I think that’s your name….if it is, I love it!)
This is a great question. I’ve actually seen some bloggers do full posts or instastory series on this idea of “blogger misconceptions”. I really don’t know, but I would love to know y’alls thoughts on this. So, feel free to leave prompts for me in the comments for a future post!
Oh, wait! I got an e-mail this week that totally falls under the misconception category! I’ll put it here:
Hi, Sheaffer! I’m pretty new to your blog, but it’s been helping me so much. I was wondering, do you always get dressed? What I mean is do you always feel like you have to be in full hair and make up and a cute outfit when you leave the house? What about when you’re at your house? Do you fix your hair and do your make up everyday? Just curious! Julie
Hey, Julie! So, most people would think that I would do my best to look cute every time I leave the house. But the truth is FAR from that. Chris was out of town this past weekend, so Carter and I went to the MovieHouse and Eatery for dinner and a movie. I didn’t have a lick of make up on, I hadn’t washed my hair, and this is what I wore. (I had covered up with a furry blanket before we left, which is what I had fuzz all over my leggings. Don’t worry, I at least lint rolled myself before heading out the door.)
my favorite leggings /asymmetrical fleece pullover / striped tee / UGGs sold out
And as far as if I get dressed on days I work from home or not, my friends (and especially my neighbors) are laughing right now. I DO NOT. In fact, pants are optional at my “office”. If I’m not taking pics or going anywhere, I don’t get ready. I mean, I wash my face and brush my teeth, but that’s about it. #imfancy
*******************************************************
I had a lot of requests after my neutral sandals post for the following: wedges with a lower heel, shoes with a closed toe (more appropriate for office wear), and more affordable wedges.
I had actually planned on putting together an entire collage with lots of options, and I still will, but I ran out of time for today’s post. I can tell you that I ordered THESE LOWER PROFILE WEDGES and THIS PAIR OF MULES (with a closed toe! in gold!). I received both of them yesterday, and they are AWESOME!
And I think this pair of low profile wedges with a closed toe is a great option for office wear! They come in 7 colors and have fantastic reviews.
******************************************************
Do you wear white jeans all year long? I’m new to your blog, so I don’t know if you’ve posted about this before. I’ve actually never bought them because I just don’t know if they’ll be worth my money. So I guess I actually have two questions: 1) Do you wear them all year. 2) Do you have a pair that you recommend? – Katie
Hi, Katie! YES!!!! I wear white jeans all year long. For example, the following outfit would be a perfect way to style white jeans for Spring! This all neutral look with the pop of leopard is totally chic. And just to give you more ideas, you could wear this same outfit with brown riding boots in the fall and winter.
Sadly, the cardigan I’m wearing is now out of stock, but I love this neutral cardigan in the “oatmeal” color. I have the same cardi in 2 other colors, it’s UNDER $30, it’s super soft, and I truly love it. The jeans have a bit of stretch to them and are soft. They aren’t see thru, they are a good thickness. and they don’t sag

ADDED LATE MONDAY MORNING…

********************************************************
This isn’t a reader question, but I would like to close today with a request. Would you please pray for my friend Julie? I got to know Julie when her son was on a baseball team with Carter, and I just love her.
My sweet friend underwent her 2nd bone marrow transplant earlier this week. Julie received her 1st bone marrow transplant in March of last year. And in October, they learned that she had relapsed and her Leukemia had come back. They were of course devastated, and in addition to the sadness and emotional strain, the financial burden has also added a lot of additional stress to her family.
Thanks to a very generous donation by Dr. Jennifer Buchanan (a family friend of Julie’s), for every $50 donated to her GoFundMe campaign for Julie between now and April 30, the donor’s name will be put in a raffle for a Louis Vuitton purse!
Here’s a picture of the Louis Vuitton that’s up for grabs! Click HERE to make a donation and enter your name into the raffle!
Please share this campaign with all of your friends, and pray with us for a miracle!

Have a wonderful weekend with your people, and I’ll see you back here on Monday!

I love when you do these Q and A’s. Also, I’ll be praying for sure.
Erika Slaughter says
Ahhhhh!!! I’m nosy too so these posts are always my favorites! Praying for Julie!
Savannah says
These posts are definitely my favorites. I laughed out loud about you talking about your hair and not going on Survivor. I started using your shampoo and conditioner a couple of years ago, and I’ve never looked back.. I’d pay twice as much for it if I had too.
April Thompson Parrish says
Love this series!! I will be in prayer for your friend, Julie!???

I feel like that pink crossbody needs a whole post dedicated to it. That is so cute!
Sara says
I for sure read that readers handle as “Blardigan” too! #dead
Caroline says
I’m one of the nosy ones and really love these posts! I’m pretty new to your blog, and it’s already helped me so much. I’m a busy mom of 3 littles, and don’t have time to shop for myself. You make it easy! Thank you!
Beth says
I love those raw hem skinnies on you! They look a little more relaxed on you than they do on the model, which I really like. I’d love to see you do a comparison of the different Kut styles and how they all fit.
Sheaffer says
Hi, Beth! I thought about doing this exact thing last night! My next couple of weeks are crazy with Spring Break and some campaigns that I already have to shoot, but I’ll see what I can do. Great suggestion! xoxo
Sarah says
I bought my first pair of Kut from the Kloth jeans last week because of you. I love them so much, so thanks for the recommendation!
Dawn says
Sheaffer, I’ve read your blog for about a year and always look forward to your new posts each week. I’m a mom with twin boys in college… I think your style tips are so helpful and your sense of humor is hilarious! So cool to find out that you’re a Kappa… so am I (Centre College, Danville, KY)! Another great reason for me to keep reading and tell more friends about your blog!
Katy says
I’ve read your blog for so long and I never knew you were a Kappa! I was one at TCU. Rah rah for KKG! ??⚜️?
Jenna says
Hey, just an FYI, Fakespot gives that Vitamin C serum an F, so buyer beware!
Sheaffer says
Hey, Jenna! Oh, man. What is Fakespot? I had several readers comment, and I say it was about 50/50 on results. But there are so many great reviews on Amazon! Well, mine arrived over the weekend, and I’ll be sure to report back! xoxo
