PTMT BASICS!

Today’s post is all about some of my favorite basics:
basics that I find myself reaching for again and again, basics that you see in many of my outfits, and basics that I think would be great additions to anybody’s closet!

Last Friday I met Lisa (one of my besties!) for her birthday lunch, and as I was walking out the door, I realized that most of the items I was wearing fit the PTMT basics bill. I loved them all layered together in this outfit, but I also wear them separately all the time.

PTMT BASIC:  STRIPED TEE

This striped tee is a great basic to have in your closet all year long.
It can of course be worn on it’s own, but it will also look great layered under military jackets, denim jackets, blardigans, etc.  🙂
I have a small, so I think it’s true to size.

PTMT BASIC:  LEOPARD SHOES
I have AND LOVE THESE booties and THESE flats.
They are both great basics to have in your closet that really sassy up lots of different outfits.
You know I consider leopard a neutral (because leopard pretty much goes with anything), but they are a neutral that really jazzes up a look!
If you are interested in the booties, make sure you order 1/2 a size up.
And for flats, there are lots of leopard flats, but THESE from Sam Edelman are the most comfy out there.  Do you remember this comfort ranking guide I published several months ago?
It still applies.

PTMT BASIC:  ARROW NECKLACE
I’ve had THIS necklace going on 3 years now, and it comes in silver too.
I used to wear it off and on, and now I wear it almost every day.  I rarely take it off.  It layers beautifully with pretty much everything, but I also like it on it’s own.

PTMT BASIC:  STATEMENT PENDANT
Most of the statement necklaces I wear are from Accessory Concierge.  And I tend to prefer a pendant necklace over a short and chunky necklace.

PTMT BASIC:  CIRCLE HOOP EARRINGS
I highly recommend the original circle hoops I’ve been talking about for 2 years now that are by Gorjana!  I wear them at least 3 times per week.
They are expensive, but the quality is awesome.
They are large, but still dainty, and I love them!
These would make an awesome gift!

If I had to only have 1 style of jacket in my closet, it would hands down be a military jacket.  I think I own 5 now. And I wear all 5 of them.

So like most of y’all, I’m a big ol’ fan of Joanna Gaines.   I adore her style. 
 Last week a reader and I e-mailed back and forth about finding a jacket like hers, and although I’m not 100% sure, I think the jacket she is wearing in this pic (I took it while watching last week’s episode) is this Free People jacket THAT IS NOW ON SALE!  Joanna wears a lot of Free People items, so I think it’s a pretty good bet it’s the same jacket, and I thought y’all might be interested.  The reviews are FANTASTIC, but most of them do say it runs small, so I would definitely size up.  I think it would look great with cords, black jeans, camo pants, and Joanna is even able to pull it off with denim jeans on the bottom.

    Let's just talk about over 40,000 followers! That's something FUN to be celebrated! It means you're helpful, entertaining & relatable! Way to go! The arrow necklace is one of my favorite pieces….non intrusive, but finishes off any outfit. The leopard booties make a boring outfit feel sassy & they are oh-so-comfy! Chip & Jo…who doesn't love them?!?

    I have the denim/knit jacket and my daughters (13/16 yo) and I all love it. I am 5'9", my 13 yo is 5'10" and my 16 yo is 6'1" and the Med fits us all. My oldest daughter just pushes the sleeves up to make it work. It is fitted across the shoulders much more than my regular denim jacket. We all love it!

    I have them all, except for the leopard booties! 🙂 I've been pondering them but haven't felt brave enough. All of the larger sizes are sold out but I did buy the chocolate ones (needed to replace my old pair anyway). You give great advice, how can I say no? I wore the Loft medallion shirtdress with some leggings to church yesterday with one of the AC stone pendants and my husband asked if that was a PTMT outfit, he thought he recognized the "look". Yay, you have a "look"! Thanks for all you do, you make my clothes shopping so much easier. Merry Christmas!

    I have that hinge military jacket and love it! I tried on so many and because I'm chubby and only 5'4" it was hard to fin one that felt comfy and looked flattering! This one is very flattering and had grea detailing and some stretch to the fabric!

    I would like to tell you about a wonderful military style jacket that comes in a multitude of colors, it is made by LLBean and called the Freeport Field jacket. I have the lined version in camo and wear it all the time. The fit is great and the fabric is butter soft. Love your blog!
