Hi Friends!
First off today, I want to send out a huge THANK YOU to you ladies for all of your sweet words yesterday through both blog comments and e-mails. I tried to reply individually to each of you, but two things got in the way. First off, my e-mail is totally jacked up right now and it frequently gives me an error message when I hit “send” after writing an e-mail. (If you’ve sent me an e-mail and haven’t received a response, you might want to send it again.)
Also, most of you that commented on the blog yesterday have your settings set to “no reply”, so I can’t reply directly to you. So, I thought I would use the blog to respond!

I just wanted you to know that I’m so happy that so many of you are enjoying the blog.
I know I can’t please everybody out there, but I so appreciate it when kind words are sent my way!
So, THANK YOU!
It means a lot!
Love you!
The End.

Now, after receiving e-mails from all of you ladies for the last week or so about the Anniversary Sale and the AWESOME things you’ve been finding, I dreamed up an idea for a contest!
I know that everybody is totally excited about the deals they are scoring at the sale…and if you are anything like me, you LOVE to talk about the great deal you got almost as much as actually getting the great deal!
So………drum roll please……..it’s time for…….
You should totally take a moment to let the awesomeness of the graphic sink in. Once again, THANK YOU Andrea! |
So, how does the contest work?
Easy!
All you have to do is report the items you scored at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!
“Report” the item by sending a picture of yourself in the items you brought
home from the Anniversary Sale!
They
can obviously be items that I’ve highlighted on the blog, but they can
also be an item that I’ve never mentioned but that YOU found and are
totally in love with!
Send the pics to:
pinteresttoldmeto@yahoo.com with the subject line “CONTEST”

Won’t this be fun?!?
Wanna know what you’re playing for?
A $50 Nordstrom gift card from me!!!!
Yipeeeee!!!!
When
you send me the picture, I would also love for you to include the item #
(which you can find online) so I can then share the link information
with everybody in case somebody else falls in love with your find too! If you would like to include a review of the product, feel free!
I would love to include some of those too!

I will accept pictures until August 3rd, and then I will post them all on August 4th or 5th along with the contest winner (that will be chosen by a random number generator).
All right……on to some more of my Anniversary Sale picks.
I’ve received several e-mails asking about specific items that I hadn’t tried on (LOTS of you wanted to know about the MK boots and flats), so I headed to the mall with Shay yesterday to do some research (and eat some Tin Star tacos)! 🙂
To be honest, I didn’t know why so many of you were asking about the MK boots. I looked at them online, and I didn’t love them at all. I didn’t like the elastic panel on the back, and I didn’t like the gold MK plate on the front of the boot.
AND THEN I PUT THEM ON.
And then I asked them to marry me.
I really really really LOVED these boots.
I walked away without them (with anguish in my heart) since I just bought the Miz Mooz pair last week (HERE), but I don’t know how long I’m going to be able to hold out because I feel like it’s time for me to get a pair of black “big girl” boots.
My black boots from the last 2 years are literally $19 boots from Ross.
I love them, and I actually get compliments on them quite frequently…..
(If you’ve been reading the blog for awhile, you might remember the story I told awhile back when a lady approached me after a movie telling me she “loved my boots” but for some odd reason I thought she “loved my boobs”…and instead of being offended I was totally flattered. And to be honest, I was a little disappointed when I realized it was my boots that she loved.)
Still,
I think it’s time for me to graduate to some grown up boots.
Now all I have to do is convince the hubby that I need to buy 2 pairs of nice boots in a 2 week time period. Wish me luck.
(I’ll of course be using the “but they’re on sale now, and if I wait I’ll just have to pay more later….so it’s really like I’m SAVING us money” argument. I’ll let you know how it goes.
Fingers crossed.)
If you want to know the exact $ amount, you will be SAVING $95.95 if you order now.
Make sure you read all of the reviews before purchasing these boots because they are mixed.
I have a small calf, and I really LOVED how they fit on me. My salesman said that the elastic back did a nice job of stretching to fit a larger calf, but some reviewers disagreed.
I kept commenting to my salesman on how I was so surprised that I liked the boots as much as I did, and he then told me it was definitely one of their best sellers.
And I wasn’t surprised at all.
I’m guessing once most people put these bad boys on that they are hooked.
The boot was very slimming and flattering. The leather was beautiful, and although I didn’t like the gold plate and the elastic back online, I was totally a fan in person! And they were OH SO comfy!
It’s just a really pretty CLASSIC boot (HERE).
The leopard flats were also the subject of a couple of different e-mails.
Again, didn’t love them online…but I really did in person!
Super comfy…..liked the mix of the leopard with the brown leather…
and the gold MK coin gave them some class!
When I was trying them on, I was staring at them (kind of in disbelief that I was liking them), and this cute blonde lady came up and was all “THOSE ARE SO CUTE!”
This helped me confirm to myself that I wasn’t crazy for liking them.

That’s me on the left and Shay on the right in a super cute military jacket.
I had to show you the back of the jacket.
You’re dying at the cuteness, right?
When Shay put it on, you should know that she said “Oh!!!!!!!!” like 43 times
while staring at the jacket.
while staring at the jacket.
We both already have 2 military jackets, and we were both trying to convince the other one to buy it.
I can’t believe it, but we both walked out without the jacket.
Somebody should alert the presses.
We are MASTERS of convincing each other to buy things. 🙂

I knew about this jacket because my cute friend Cassie from over at Hi Sugarplum put it on her blog on Friday, and I immediately loved it.
It’s from the little girl’s department, which I thought was SO smart and cost effective!
Here’s Cassie in the jacket.
Cassie, Shay, and I are all wearing the 10-12. It was a little short on me ( I’m 5’4″, but it looked great on Shay and Cassie). I think they are both a bit shorter than I am, and I know they are both smaller than me.

I posted the smaller version of this bag on Friday, so I thought I would post this larger version too.
It’s so pretty, and I love the gold accents.
I hesitated to post these next pictures, because the jackets are both WAY TOO SMALL on me.
They were the only sizes left in store, so I took one for the team and took pics for all to see in jackets that wouldn’t even freaking button up on me.
I’m a giver.
Click HERE for the faux leather trimmed trench.
It had a very cute shape, and I loved the fact that it could be belted and had the pleats in the back.
If I could have buttoned it up, I just know it would have looked fantastic. 🙂
Click HERE for the red quilted jacket.
I thought it was possible that this jacket might be cute, but I couldn’t really tell.
The 1 review online is not complimentary, so buyer beware. (For size reference, I’m wearing a 4.)
THIS is still my favorite coat I’ve tried on.
The 1 review says it wasn’t a great fit, but I found the opposite to be true.

So, after 3 days and like 4,360 pictures, we are nearing the end of my picks.
I still have a couple of things up my sleeve (think “Christmas in July”), but that won’t be until next week. And I’m anxiously awaiting MY WEDGE BOOTS, and they are scheduled to arrive today!
If they do, I’m going to style them several different ways and have pics for you on Friday!
And I might even be naming the boots a MUST HAVE!
Only time will tell….

Why didn't we both buy that jacket?!?! It is just too cute! And those boots are a necessity in your life. I absolutely loved them! (I loved the flats too!) But I also love, love, love both red coats. Geez Sheafer! You looked good in way too much yesterday!

I just bought those MK boots on Friday, but in the dark brown color. I thought the dark brown looked better than the black. I loved the gold details on the boots. The only issue I had was getting my foot into the boot. There is some sort of panel on the heel of the boot and the 8 on the my left foot would not go on. I was sweating in the store trying to put it on, so I got the 8 1/2. I can't wait to wear them! I had to fib to the hubs that they were a little cheaper than they actually were. I want the black Enzo boot (Ellerby), but I can't afford two at the moment. Sigh. I love your blog and all the awesome things you find and highlight!

Girl, you have some serious self control! If I were you I'm afraid I would have left with all of those items. You are just adorable!

That military jacket is awesome. My heart sank when you said it was from the girls dept! At 5'10 it's not gonna happen!
The way you're going, you may need to change the title of your blog to "Nordstrom Told Me To."

Question – Gold or Rose gold Michael Kors watch? I love the look of rose gold but thinking that gold is more versatile. Please help me decide!
Sheaffer says
Hi Katherine! I hope you check back here for an answer, because your settings are set to "no reply". I really love the regular gold. I think it looks better on my skin tone. I think the rose gold tends to look better on blondes. Is that weird? Hope this helps!
xoxo,
Sheaffer 🙂
Katie Skelley says
Ha, I agree with Kris!
I LOVE the Michael Kors flats, they would be perfect for work – comfy yet fun.
Re: Google and the No Reply – I am so mad at Google. I have changed mine TWICE and a blog reader last week told me that I was kicked back to No Reply again. It automatically happens when you add Google +. Not cool.
Bring on more Nordstrom deals! I will have to take a pic of Coop in his BTS tees for your showcase. 😀

Love the military jacket from the little girls department! I'll look at that because I still haven't found one that doesn't look frumpy on me! Can't wait to enter the contest!!

I'm in love with the MK leopard flats. Leopard flats are my most favorite thing, I have way too many, but I don't have any that are MK!!!
Girl, you look great in everything!!!
Really enjoy seeing all your pics!
Have a blessed day! 🙂

LOL at the "I love your boobs" mix up. I'd be disappointed too. 🙂 That military jacket from the little girls department is perfect!

Sheaffer, first off I am obsessed with your blog and have been reading FOREVER and you haven't been helping my shopping addiction. I worked at Nordstrom a few years ago and got OBSESSED with the Anniv. Sale. Last year I got a GORGEOUS silver and gold MK boyfriend watch and this year I got a rose gold Marc Jacobs beauty and I'm about to get the large hobo MK purse for fall in brown despite the fact that I already have a gorgeous brown bag and now I want the boots you just modeled despite the fact that I have two pairs of leather, good quality, pretty riding boots… I kind of really can't handle it or control myself. I've been hiding all my purchases because I'm ashamed of what my boyfriend would say 😉 But seriously, who can pass up a good deal. C'mon. Really. This is like getting great quality items for a bargain. One year I was going to get a pair of riding boots, passed them up only to pay way more just weeks later. BUY first THINK later is my new Nordstrom Anniv. Sale motto.
PS: The boots look gorg on you! You have to get them!

Oh, I want those MK boots so much. I've been hunting for brown boots for YEARS. But I have a 17" calf and have to get extended calf boots. Always. These are listed under "wide calf" but I just can't believe it. Worth a try? Maybe? Thankful for Nordy's return policy….
Sheaffer says
Kristin! I saw it's totally worth a try. They are gorgeous….and if they don't work, just return them!!!! Let me know if you get them and they work for you!!!!

Not that this has ANYTHING to do with the post, but I was just looking up a picture of Kate Middleton and her new baby and she "debuted" him in nude wedges! It made me think of you and your quest for the perfect nude flat and how much you love wedges =) I don't know if I've ever commented before, but I've been reading along since last September or so and love getting inspiration from your fashion finds and deals. Keep up the great work!
Jenna says
So many cute things! But where do you get all this money to always be buying things?!! I love some of the clothes you post but I never have $100 to spend on 1 pair of shoes. Maybe I just haven't moved on to "grown up" clothes yet? Ha!! Any chance you could feature some stores that aren't as pricey as Nordstrom/Gap/JCrew??
Beth Ann says
So, I bought quite a few items from the sale (and just need to stay off the website because I keep finding more…). Is it one entry per item 🙂
smk053078 says
This a genius contest idea, but I wouldn't expect anything less from you! Too bad I have made myself stay away from the sale…momma is trying to save and you are not helping with all your finds!!
