Orange, Turquoise, and Leopard!!!

This is going to be a different post for me for a Friday (since it’s usually Friday Favorites around here), but I just had to get this outfit posted.  I couldn’t wait until next week, because I’m scared about some of the items selling out before you girls get to see them!

This is one of my favorite outfits I’ve posted in a long time.  I felt really great in it, and I received lots of compliments the day I was wearing it (and you know a girl loves a compliment).  😉 I love the outfit all put together, but I really love the individual pieces as well.  I think they are all special items that would be great additions to lots of ladies’ closets.

Let’s start out with THIS RUFFLE PEPLUM TOP.  The shape of it is so different than anything I currently own, and I absolutely adore the ruffle peplum hem and the bell sleeves.  This top looks great with white jeans and wedges, but I think it would also make a wonderful top for work.  It would pair nicely with tailored pants and be a nice alternative to a typical button up blouse.

It comes in seveal colors (including black), but I settled on this bright orange-red color, specifically because I wanted it go with THIS necklace (which we’ll get to in a minute). The Kelly green color is also gorgeous, and the only reason I didn’t order that one is that they didn’t have it in my size when I ordered mine.  For size reference, several reviewers have reported that it runs large, but I didn’t find that to be the case.  I’m wearing my normal size small, and I definitely couldn’t have sized down.  If you have a smaller chest, I do think you could size down, because it’s definitely roomy and flowy.  Oh, I should mention that I also ordered the blush color.  The color was gorgeous, but a little sheer.  I think you would have to wear a cami with the blush.

And COME ON. LOOK AT THE SLEEVES.

Both the bell sleeves and the peplum hem have tiny little soft pleats that make everything lay really nicely.  And it’s got really great movement!

Here’s a good shot of the hemline.  It’s longer on the sides than it is in the front and back.  It makes for an unexpected and very pretty shape.

And THE LEOPARD CLUTCH?  Well, it’s fabulous.  I’m sure many of you are familiar with the famous Clare V. clutch, and if you’re like me, you’ve admired it for years but knew it would never be yours (because you didn’t want to pay the money).  WELL, this clutch is our answer!  It’s totally chic, the calf hair gives it great texture, and it’s very affordable.  The back of it is black, but that is fine with me, especially when I’m getting the look for a FRACTION of the price.  Also, the interior has two interior pockets (one with a zipper)!  It’s a nice size and can hold my powder compact, a lipstick, a couple of lip glosses, my phone, and my keys.

And the wedges are true to size, a good height, and comfy!  They are a beautiful cognac color, and the wedge itself has great texture (see other pictures below for a side view of the wedges).  They are great with jeans, but I also love wearing them with skirts and dresses.

Let’s take a moment to talk about the necklace.  You all know that I’m typically a pendant or tassel necklace type girl.  I don’t really gravitate towards big and chunky necklaces like this one.  And I certainly don’t typically wear heavy necklaces (lots of necklaces give me headaches).  But y’all, I made an exception for this little beauty because it packs so much punch!  And although it’s definitely heavier than what I’m used to wearing,  I wore it for about a 4 hour stretch, and I didn’t get a headache!  Maybe it has something to do with the fact that it’s shorter than my normal necklace, so it doesn’t pull as much?  I’m not sure, but I do know I love it.

The jeans are what white jean dreams are made of.  They have a good amount of stretch in them (so they are very comfy), but they also have enough structure in them that they don’t sag.  And they aren’t see thru at all.  One of my biggest pet peeves with white jeans is when you can see the pocket lining.  Well, the front pockets are fake, so there’s no lining to see!  A fun detail on these particular jeans is the subtly frayed hem.  For size reference, I’m wearing a 27, which is true to size for me.  I know these jeans are seriously expensive, but I did find a similar pair HERE with a frayed hem (for $64) and HERE with distressing and fantastic reviews (for $59).

I also thought you might want to see the top from the back.  It doesn’t fully cover the hiney…but it partially covers the hiney.  Which I enjoy. 🙂 Also worth mentioning here, my favorite undies (the ones I wear 99.99% of the time) are even good for white jeans.  Now, if I’m wearing a shorter top (and my entire hiney is showing), I’ll probably still wear a nude pair of Hanky Pankys (the original rise thong is the one I love).  However, with this top, my fave undies did the trick!  They didn’t show through with their color, and I didn’t have any noticeable lines either.

And just like always, I was carrying my must have denim jacket with me.  You know, just in case it’s cold.   Chris jokes that I have a 3 degree range of comfort…ad he’s pretty much right, which is why I love to have an extra layer with me.  #alwaysbeprepared

If you are struggling with life right now,  you need to know that he did this for YOU.  That He loves YOU.  That he desires to have a personal relationship with YOU.

It is my hope everybody has a wonderful Easter weekend with friends and family, and that we all stop and feel the love that God has for each of us. Let’s celebrate His love and our redemption!
