I highlighted THIS blazer (in OATMEAL) several weeks ago, and I ended up getting it for myself.
I convinced myself to get it after putting together this style board with inspiration from Pinterest.

I never imagined a neutral colored blazer could be so versatile, but my girl Pinterest convinced me that it was, so I bought it! Pinterest is just about as bossy as I am.
I’ve already re-created two of the above looks, and I’m SUPER SUPER happy with my purchase!
Super happy.
Like, for real.
Look #1 (the middle picture in the above collage):
neutral blazer, dark jeans, white t-shirt, and edgy necklace

I mean, really….don’t you guys think I look kinda cool? 🙂
This is without a doubt within my top 3 favorite looks that I’ve created.
In fact, DARE I SAY?, it might be THE FAVORITE!!!!!!

I felt classic and polished.
Ladies…blazers are no longer “stuffy” and for business meetings only.
I don’t when it happened, but they are totally hip now!

I love so many things about THIS blazer:
*The color is a perfect neutral.
I feel like a lot of times that this color can lean yellow or pink…but this one doesn’t.
I feel like a lot of times that this color can lean yellow or pink…but this one doesn’t.
It really is a perfect neutral.
*The blazer is linen, which is the perfect spring and summer material for a blazer.
I tried on a lot of blazers that were for meant for spring and summer, but even though they were pretty spring colors, I thought the weight of the material was too heavy.
*The cut of this blazer is so cute. The slimness of this blazer is what I like most about it because it makes it super flattering.
*I love the detail on the cuffs.
I mean y’all! SERIOUSLY!
I never imagined how versatile a neutral blazer could be!
I pinned even more images yesterday and love them too!
The next look I am going to re-create is dark jeans with a dark shirt as seen in the next 2 pics.
If you are interested in a neutral blazer, but for some unknown reason my choice doesn’t float your boat (for the record, you’re crazy) :), some other options follow:
Dear Neutral Blazer,
I Love you so much.
I don’t know why it took me my whole life to realize the importance of having you in my closet life, but rest assured that I’ve now seen the error of my ways and I am going to make up for lost time.
All My Love,
Sheaffer

I also wanted to highlight a shoe today in addition to the blazer.
After showcasing my fav wedge (found HERE) over the last several weeks, some of you expressed interest in wanting a wedge that wasn’t patent.
I searched high and low, and found what I think is a great option for a basic black or brown wedge.
Click HERE to see for yourself.
It is 33% off right now, which makes it under $60!
In addition to black, it also comes in Cognac.
I think the braided rope on the wedge is great, and I think the black pair could be the perfect thing to help you with the black and brown trend this summer! (I did it all winter, and I’m definitely going to be doing it this summer too.)
Click HERE to see the cognac.
(Every size is available right now in both colors, but once things go on sale at Nordstrom, the variety of sizes doesn’t typically last long.)
Now, a couple of more thing before you go…
If you have a blog or have ever thought about starting a blog, you need to go HERE and read Shay’s post immediately.
She collected advice from lots of awesome bloggers and compiled it all in one place.
It’s good stuff. 🙂
AND…the winner of the Stella and Dot earrings found HERE:
Kelly Gale Wilson!
Kelly, you have until Thursday at noon to contact me!
Click HERE if you would like to see the official Rafflecopter announcement at the bottom of the original post.
Now…what are you people still doing here? You should be off shopping for a neutral blazer!

Your white outfit with the oatmeal blazer…is flippin' HOT! Who knew white with oatmeal could be so sexy (but in a really subtle way?!?!). It's one of your best looks yet!
Alison @ Get Your Pretty On says
Wow, I totally agree with Shay. One of the best yet. I love the white on white with neutral. So classy!
Becky Norton says
LOVE the neutral blazer LOTS! SO here's my question, if someone *ahem* has a large chest area, you think they can pull off a blazer too? Or would it look awkward?! Your blog rocks!
JenniferW says
Love the look. We emailed a couple weeks ago about how I bought it (and the navy shirt underneath in the photo), but it didn't fit right. I still have the shirt and wear it with a neutral cardigan (and love it), but I will definitely check out the other blazer options! Thanks!

You do look really gorgeous in your new blazer!! good buy!

The word linen makes me worry…. What is the wrinkle factor???
{Hi Sugarplum!} says
You couldn't look any cuter, really.
Sheaffer says
Hi JenJen! Linen would ordinarily make me worry too…but this jacket was shipped to me…and I wore it twice without ever putting an iron to it! It's lined, so I think that helps a great deal!

Yep … I agree … one of the best looks ever! I am so going to thrift a similar jacket 🙂 pippa
Sheaffer says
Becky – I wouldn't say my chest is small..and I have a freakishly large ribcage, and I thought the jacket was very slimming.
If you e-mail me directly, I will be more specific about my sizing.

I recently purchased and received the same oatmeal blazer after reading your previous posts. I LOVE IT! I tend to have broad shoulders, so I ordered one size up (large) like you suggested and it fits great! The only downside is the shoulder pads can be a bit bulky/80's ish 🙁
Jenn Rivera says
Love, love, love the white on white w/ the blazer. Like Shay said it is "flippin' HOT"! Like JenJen, I am worried about the wrinkle factor…but I MUST have that blazer!
Lauren says
very cute blazer, and it really does go with everything! I liked both looks, but think #1 was best! Thanks for sharing, good post!!!

I love your outfit recreations and your overall style!
Question: I have a very light grey blazer that I love. Do you think I could wear this as a versatile/neutral blazer like you do with your oatmeal/linen one (except it won't go with browns)? I'd love to hear your ideas and opinion. Thanks.
Sheaffer says
Hi PurseONality!
I would have replied to your e-mail, but you are a "no reply" blogger, so I couldn't. I hope you check back here for the answer! I really like the idea of a grey blazer, but I think it might look a little "muddy" vs. clean and crisp like an oatmeal color. Does that make sense? Hope that helps.
xoxo,
Sheaffer 🙂
PurseONality says
That makes perfect sense. I was thinking that as I tried it on with various pieces. Thanks so much!
I'll be updating my account settings as well.

Nice!! I'm really excited about this post because I've actually had a neutral colored blazer for a while but haven't known how to style it!!

I just wanted to comment on your answers on Shay's blog about blogging….you said to build your audience be friends with The Bachelor's Sister….ha, ha….now, that may be why people first came to your blog….but that is not why people stayed….ha, ha….you are funny….so don't sell yourself short….she may have moved traffic to your site but you are what has made people stay and keep coming back….congrats!!!!

You've convinced me. I really need one of these now. I have a black blazer, which is a neutral blazer of sorts. But a creamy/oatmeal color is gorgeous and versatile. Thanks for the inspiration!
Imogen says
This is really lovely. It is amazing how many different looks can be created with a neutral blazer.

In love with the oatmeal blazer – like you said, super stylish! Found you through Shanna's hop 🙂

You look adorable and fresh and classic, love the blazer (and wedges!)
Sandra says
Love that blazer! Just curious – are suggesting to size up if you want to button the blazer or is it tight across the shoulders?
Sheaffer says
Hi Sandra! I tried to reply directly to your e-mail, but your settings are set to "no reply", so I hope you check back here for your answer!
It is not tight across the shoulder, but because it is a slim cut, I feel like the majority of people might need to order a size up. I'm typically a small, but I ordered a medium in this jacket. I love the way it fits now, but I still can't button it comfortably. Hope this helps. They don't have them in store…so just make your best guess and you can still return it in store if it's not right!

Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me…Hi Scheaffer, I just recently discovered your blog this week and love it! I was in Nordy's the other day and looked for the blazer but not a single Oatmeal in sight but I did try on the white for size just to see…in case…it came back in stock, knowing I will be stalking it online…anyway, I'm typically a Size 6 and have a freakishly long torso so I preferred the Medium as well.
So last night, on my 49th birthday…sad I know…I was doing a little retail therapy online to take my mind off the fact that I would be 50 in 364 days when guess what IS BACK IN STOCK??? Yes friends, the oatmeal blazer is back in stock in Small and Medium…get it while you can!!
Thank you from a fellow Texan in Houston! I look forward to more shopping adventures with you.
Jackie says
Well, it came in the mail today and I just ripped the box open and tried it on…dang it, on this one the sleeves feel a little tight in the elbow area after I szush the sleeves up. Did you find that your sleeves loosened up a bit after wear since it is linen? Even if it doesn't it's still great!
