My NEWEST MUST HAVE! (And It’s ON SALE!)

For those of y’all that have been following along for a while now, I know you must have perked up when you read “NEWEST MUST HAVE” in today’s post title. BECAUSE IT’S A BIG DEAL. 😉

I’ve been blogging since 2012, and I’ve probably only named 12-14 or so MUST HAVES in all those years. I can think of about 10 off the top of my head: the Callisto wedges (who remembers those?!?), my first Kut from the Kloth denim jacket, a fringe infinity scarf (ha!), a pair of Wit and Wisdom frayed hem ankle jeans (that I still wear and love), a blardigan, a Pleione blouse, the Wit and Wisdom itty bitty bootcut jeans (that I still wear and love), the must have bra (I’m wearing it right now!), the must have undies (still wear these just about every day), and a pair of Wit and Wisdom black pants (that are no longer available).

Well, today is all about my newest MUST HAVE. Yep, I’ve got a sweater that everybody needs! It comes in a whopping 34 colors, and today I’ll be highlighting 4 of those colors. I’m telling you, there’s definitely a color (or 2) for everybody.

In order for something to receive the MUST HAVE title, it must be an item that I think the majority of people could really use in their closet.

This sweater truly is the definition of a perfect closet basic. AND GREAT NEWS! It’s ON SALE (but I’m not sure for how long).

I love the way it looks, and I love the way it feels.

This sweater is super soft, it’s not itchy at all, it’s lightweight, and it has what I think is a perfect relaxed fit! It doesn’t hug your body at all, and it just drapes really nicely. It’s a little bit longer in the front than in the back, and it does have a loose band on the bottom, so you can wear it out or with a half-tuck and it looks great both ways (but y’all know I almost always go for the half-tuck).

It has a ribbed neckline, ribbed cuffs, a ribbed hem, and a little ribbed detail down the middle of the sweater. The ribbed detailing just gives it some nice interest and elevates it a bit. I would definitely suggest sizing down in this sweater. I’m almost always a medium in sweaters, and I’m wearing a small in this sweater. Even in the small, I still consider it quite roomy.

This is the “toasted” color, and I think it’s such a warm and lovely fall color; perfect for pumpkin patches and Thanksgiving day! It would also look great with cream or black denim too.

Y’all know I’ve been wearing Quay sunglasses for years, but I just picked these new ones up with the deep green frames and brown lenses. I’m in love. This layered gold necklace and this multicolor beaded necklace are the two necklaces I’m wearing in every single outfit in today’s post.

And check out these earrings. They have an organic leaf shape, and I really like the modern vibe. They make a statement for sure.

Let’s also take a moment to talk about the belt. I’m wearing it in 3 out of 4 of the outfits today. It comes in 4 colors, and this one is the pecan gold. It’s real leather, and I like the brushed bronze hardware. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

The turquoise and green bracelets are feminine, dainty, and they add a nice pop of color. In addition to the green and blue, they also come in a light pink and a dark pink.

These wide leg ankle jeans are new to me, and I think they are a lot of fun! A perfect mix of laid-back and casual-chic, these wide-leg jeans are made with soft stretch denim and Fab Ab front pockets that shape and smooth. I sized up to a 6 in these, but I wish I would have stuck with the 4 (so I would say they are true to size).

These booties are one of my favorite purchases so far for fall. The booties I had in my closet were all a little dated, so I wanted a new pair this year. These checked all my boxes: a beautiful neutral color, suede, a mid-height heel (not too high, not too low), a new look, and they zip up on the side. I much prefer a bootie with a zipper so I don’t have to fight with the bootie when putting it on. Comfy and true to size for me.

Aren’t they pretty? They look great with skirts and dresses too.

This cognac bag is the most beautiful cognac color, and the gold hardware compliments it so well. It’s a faux leather, but it doesn’t look plastic-y at all (which is often the case with faux leather). This one also comes in black, and both colors are ON SALE!

Also, if you notice below, I’ve switched from neutral booties to leopard Mary Jane’s. I wanted you to see that these jeans look good with flats too.

Let’s give a minute to these shoes, because WOW.

First of all, if you don’t know, LEOPARD IS BACK IN A BIG WAY.

Now if I’m going to be honest, it’s always been “in” for me. I think the pattern is totally chic and classic, and because of that I never stopped wearing it. But if you follow the trends closely, you know that now it’s officially back.

You know what else is trending? Mary Janes!

These leopard Mary Janes are undeniably fabulous. I absolutely love them. Very comfy, true to size, and I’m able to slip them off and on easily without having to undo the buckle. If you’re not a fan of the leopard, they come in 17 other colorways (some solids, some patterns).

So like I said, I’m showing the same sweater in 4 colors today.

And while I’m saying that I think everybody could use (at least) two of these sweaters in their closet…

If you get just 1, it should probably be the black.

Because everybody needs a classic black sweater. If you already have a black sweater you love, then go ahead and move on to grab a color.

But if you don’t have black, GET THE BLACK.

Dress it down with ankle jeans and sneakers.

Dress it up with boot cut jeans, heels, and lots of accessories.

You could even pair it with a satin pencil skirt and strappy heels!

I think this mini bucket tote bag is lots of fun and adds a bright pop to this otherwise basic outfit. The color is so vibrant and pretty. The bag is small, but it can definitely hold essentials like a cell phone, a wallet, and your favorite on the go makeup.

If you’re an OG follower, then you know I’ve talked about Wit and Wisdom jeans forever. Furthermore, you know I’ve sung the praises of the itty bitty boot cut jeans like it was my job.

These wide leg jeans are like the updated 2024 version of the regular ol’ boot cut jeans. On my shorter frame, I think I still prefer the originals because I think they are more flattering, but these are definitely more hip. So if you are looking to update your boot cut jeans, these could be the pair you’re looking for. I’m wearing my regular size 4, but most people size down in this brand.

How great is this color?!? It’s great with black, but this green would of course be awesome with regular ol’ denim and white jeans too. You know you’ll catch me wearing this with ankle jeans and sneakers for sure, but I wanted to show how these sweaters can be dressed up so easily.

Pair it with these super popular black pleated pants, and you are immediately office ready.

And seriously. This color is gorgeous.

The fact that I’m LOVING some pants from Wit and Wisdom should come as no surprise to any of you.

HOWEVER, these pants are pleated, so I was not expecting to love them at all. Because of the pleats, I didn’t think they were going to work on my body (since my tummy is my problem area). WELL, I was wrong! They are crazy comfy and quite flattering! They are a substantial ponte like fabric, but they’re a medium weight and not too heavy at all. They are crazy super soft and stretchy, but they keep their shape throughout the day. They’ve got a double bar and hook closure with a hidden button and a functional zipper, but I’m telling you, you can just pull these on if you want to! Yes, they have that much give. Most size down in these, but I’m wearing my regular size 4.

It’s a stunning orangey-red color. It’s hard to describe, but it’s very striking.

These jeans are different than any other jeans in my closet right now due to the exaggerated cuff. I love them. They also have the Ab Solution technology, and if you are new to the Ab Solution magic, these jeans suck you in and totally snatch in your waistline while still allowing you to breathe. It’s a thing of wonder really! 🙂 For size reference, I’m wearing my regular size 4. If between sizes, size down in this brand.

I have had some questions from readers on if the cuffs are stitched, and they’re not. So for you shorter gals that want to uncuff them, cut them, and then re-cuff them…. GO CRAZY! 😉
