This was the last room for us to work on in the new house, and now it’s
definitely one of my favorites! It’s the first room yo see when you walk in, AND you can see it all lit up at night from the street, which I love.
I’m glad we took our time putting it together, and didn’t just fill it up just to fill it up.
I had no real plans when designing, except that I wanted it to be rustic, but still chic.
Does that even make sense?
Well, it made sense to me, and I think I accomplished my goal!
Here’s the picture you saw the first time I talked about the dining room.
It was mostly done, except we still needed a rug!
(Click HERE for the first post if you want to see a source list for items in the room.)
Here’s another angle.
I’m standing in the entry way, and that’s the Butler’s Pantry that leads to the kitchen through the arched doorway.
Our last home didn’t have hardwood floors, so until we moved, I’d never had to pick out rugs before. I was able to find one that I liked for the main living area, but this area kind of stumped me.
Enter Michaela over at Michaela Noelle Designs (you can also find her on instagram HERE).
She threw together a couple of mood boards for me with two different rug choices that she suggested. (Find all of the services she offers HERE!)
I was soooooo overwhelmed with the THOUSANDS of rug options out there, but the second I looked at the two choices (Michaela found two GORGEOUS rugs from Lulu and Georgia), I knew which rug I wanted to try.
But I still asked for y’all opinions!
So, several days after the VOTE post went live, I went back and counted the votes!
It wasn’t a land slide victory, but there was definitely a clear winner.
And great news for me, most of you ladies liked the rug that I liked the most!
Rug #1 received 58% of the vote.
So, I got RUG #1 c/o Lulu and Georgia!!!!
And I am THRILLED with the choice!
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
It’s GORGEOUS in the space.
The colors are perfection, the pattern was just what I was looking for, and it really just warms up the space exactly like I had hoped it would!
I’m in love.
With a rug.
And I’ve got a crush on the rest of the room too.
Before we go today, I want to show you some other items that I received back in September (right after we moved in) c/o Lulu and Georgia.
See ALL of their current rugs HERE.
I love our front door mat also c/o Lulu and Georgia.
And guess what?
You can use the code PTMT20 for 20% OFF your purchase!

Thank you Michaela for helping me out, and thank you Lulu and Georgia for the rug!
I’ve got a couple of questions for all of you ladies before you go.

Would you like more HOME posts?
Nothing crazy, but maybe a new one every couple of months or so?

Yes, would LOVE more home posts, like at least once a month! I just have to say because I don't comment very often…but every time I order something that you've recommended I may at first curse your name "dang you Shafffer!" (because I have a PTMT shopping addiction!)…and then that second passes…then when my items arrive I'm always singing your praises…you're always spot on! So I now just trust you and don't think twice. Thanks for being all of our personal shoppers! And your bachelor recaps are hilarious! And you son is precious…I just had a little boy, they are the BEST!
Have a great day!

Love your shutter. We are looking at new construction in frisco and the thought of paying for shutters is freaking me out. Know of anyone good and cheap by chance? (Our current house has shutters on every window – we bought it I think because of the shutters!!)

I just want to know if you support people living Dave Ramsey-style. Haha! I'm sure you pay cash and have it in the budget written down before the month begins, but others… hopefully we don't see all your gorgeous things and want it without having a designated line for it in the budget and cash in hand! What do you think about beautiful things and Dave Ramsey budgets?! =)
Sheaffer says
Hi B! I've never taken a Dave Ramsey course, so I'm not super familiar with all that his plan outlines…but I am a firm believer in the fact that you shouldn't buy something if you don't currently have the cash for it! "Things" aren't worth financial stress!

Silly question….I've been looking at this rug. Is it gray or more of a blue tone? I'm trying to decipher the colors and it looks different on your site and on Lulu and Georgia. Just don't want to buy it if it isn't in the gray family 🙂
Sheaffer says
Hi Holly! I would say it's grey, but it definitely has a little blue in it. Sorry I'm not more help! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
