I first became familiar with Courtney Kerr when I would catch episodes here and

there of Most Eligible Dallas.

Imagine Real Housewives where nobody was married…..

they were all single…..and hot……and gallivanting around Dallas. 🙂

And then imagine that you were on the show…..filming with your best friend who there was

this amazing chemistry with.

And then imagine one night that you finally kissed said best friend while in a hot tub.

Yeah.
It was just as hot as you are imagining.

Well, much to my disappointment, Courtney and Matt are not married with 3 kids. Boo.

But she has an amazing style blog HERE, she hosts D: The Broadcast, and she has a new reality show debuting on Bravo soon called Courtney Loves Dallas.

Ok, so I tried to find similar items for my sold out items in case you were interested in putting the look together for yourself, but I came up empty.
Summer stuff is sooooo picked over now.

But….lucky for us….I have more fall items to feature from Nordstrom!

By 9:00 a.m. yesterday morning all 10 colors were completely sold out, and I was kicking myself that I hadn’t ordered the black one yet.
Well, I got an e-mail yesterday afternooon from a reader that 4 colors had been re-stocked in all sizes!
WooHoo!
And then I checked back late last night and there were 6 colors available! SCORE!
I ordered the black one asap.
I learned my lesson the first time. What can I say, I’m a quick study.

I called Nordstrom to see if they were going to re-stock all colors, and the person I talked to was unable to locate that information.
(Although I will say, the Nordstrom customer service people are FANTASTIC. They always go above and beyond to help. And they are super friendly. But not too friendly like the Starbucks people sometimes are at the drive-thru. I’m not hating on Starbucks, but please tell me you agree with the fact that they sometimes need to dial it down a notch.)
Wow. That was a rabbit trail.

(You should know that for every picture you have seen the last couple of days and today, there are probably 8 other things I tried on that I did not like.)
For example, NOT A FAN of the tweed jacket I was SO looking forward to trying on and was hoping I was going to love.
Nope. Not a fan. The neckline was more like a boobline. Not a good look on me.
Too bad because I loved the color, the tweed, and the leather accents.
If you are tall, skinny, and have a small chest….THIS jacket will probably look great on you.
Me? Not so much.
It does have great reviews online, so if you meet the criteria I outlined above, buy this jacket!

I’m also looking for a great pair of black dress pants, but I haven’t found any that I love yet.
Shay and I are making a quick run to the mall today, so I’m hoping to find some!
I also have a list of item #s of about 10 other things I want to try to find…so stay tuned for more picks later this week.

Now, for some more things I am loving….
Leather is a HUGE trend this year.
I tried on several leather jackets, most I didn’t like.

However, I did love this jacket.
I think the houndstooth accents make it so unique and fun!

The above is a real leather jacket, and I think it is totally cool.
It’s very pretty leather, and the houndstooth is unexpected which I love!

However, if you are wanting the look of leather without the price tag,
there are some great options out there.
I really like THIS quilted one.
No, it’s not real leather, but you definitely get to feel “on trend” without feeling “in the poor house”.

Next up!
I bought a military jacket from Nordstrom last year that has been out of stock for awhile, but I was trying to find a good option for those of you that didn’t get one last year but might want to add one to your closet for this year.
(I wear mine ALL THE TIME.)
I found THIS one and it’s a great deal.
However, it’s more of an outside jacket than the type of military jacket I had in mind, but still VERY cute. The lining is removable, I just didn’t have time to make that happen.
I do have a jacket I’m hoping to try on today that I’m hoping is more of what I have in mind.
I also found THIS infinity scarf, and the anniversary sale price is only $12.90!

The Dooney and Bourke bag that I featured yesterday is out of stock (boo!), and I got 2 e-mails from people that are just sick about the fact they didn’t scoop it up. I will continue to check on the availability of the bag and will let you know if it shows back up.
But I do have other purses to show you in the meantime.
I saw THIS Steve Madden bag in the store and liked it.

But I LOVED and ADORED the next bag.

I went to Nordstrom to buy Marc by Marc Jacobs bag, but when i saw this
bag in person, oh my god!!! it was soooooooooooo cool. Looks expensive

If you want to buy vintage style bag with inexpensive price, I highly recommend this bag.
I bought blueish grey. Color is beautiful and easy to match with any color shoes and clothes. Leather is good quality.

to this purse, I really like the satchel style . I really liked the

I totally thought the bag was “just okay” online….but it was VERY IMPRESSIVE in person.

(Online it was “ho hum”….In the store it was “yeah baby!”)

I like all 3 colors, but I really like this “scotch” color the most. It’s a great size, the leather is super soft and looks very expensive, and it has a strap that attaches if you want a cross body option!

If you are kicking yourself for not getting the Dooney, this might be a good option for you.

This bag isn’t cheap, but it looks MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE than it’s Anniversary Sale price.

If you’ve been following the blog for awhile, you know I found my black blazer in the back of my closet last year, brought it out, and wore the heck out of it all fall and winter.

I knew I wanted to look for one in the Anniversary Sale inventory for you guys, but I never found one online. I did find one in stores that I liked a lot!

(When I found the link online after I got home I realized that maybe I had seen it online already. But to be honest, I never would have given it a second thought because it doesn’t look great online.)

It looks like it belongs with a suit. It looks very dressy.

But in person, I really liked it!

(Most blazers out there right now are knit. I wanted to find a real blazer for you guys, not a knit one…and this one fit the bill!)

I hesitated to post this picture because this blazer was way too small for me.

It was a 2, and it was small enough on me that I might have even needed a 6…they just didn’t have anything larger than a 2 in stock.

(These are the same skinny jeans I talked about on Friday, and I am SO glad I bought them! There are only 2 online reviews of them now, one 5 star that I totally agree with! The other reviewer who gave 1 star sounds like she has anger issues! Ha!)

I found the jeans to be true to size.

And remember, even though they look black, they aren’t.

They are just a super SUPER dark denim.

If you have a White House Black Market at your mall, I got the BEST pair of black pants there. I love them, they are really flattering – I wore them for New Year's Eve with a sequin tank, and now I wear them to work all the time.

You are killing me Miss Nordstrom! Two questions for ya if you don't mind…the quilted leather jacket I see is from Juniors…do you think it would be too short on someone 5'8"? Are you modeling a Small? Medium?

And the infinity scarf…are you wearing gray or the ivory? Kind of hard to tell the colors are so muted on these. It looks so soft!

  Hi Jackie! I had on a medium in the jacket (my chest isn't small and I have a big rib cage and often have to order up in jackets). I'm not sure if it would be too short on you or not?!? I think it looks okay on the model in the link, and I'm guessing she's probably at least your height!
  The scarf is the grey…and it was sooooo soft!

How did I miss that infinity scarf? Super cute. I can't decide on the color, so I just might need 2! LOL!

I tried on the FP faux leather jacket at the sale. So cute, great fit. I actually didn't notice the lace inlay on the back. Took it to the register and as I laid it down I caught a look at it. Was so disappointed. It looked cheap to me. So it stayed at Nordstrom. I was kind of so-so on the Kut jacket and of course now and am second guessing it so it's naturally sold out in black. Ugh.

Hi Sheaffer,
Just a quick question…do you ever get reprimanded for taking pictures of your "try ons" in the stores? A lot of the places I have shopped in have a no picture policy. It may not be written down, but it is always implied. I realize this is your lifestyle blog, but I just cannot get over the VOLUMES of pictures you take. You may be buying all those outfits, and if you are, I apologize, but I have been curious.
I really enjoy your blog, but if I can give a suggestion, maybe you could tone it down a bit. It appears a bit jumbled and super busy for my taste, but hey, it's your blog so you don't have to care one bit about what I think.

Thanks for your input. I have never been reprimanded in the stores. Not even once! So thankful for that!
I agree that lately (especially during the Anniversary Sale posts)there have been TONS of pictures on the blog. I try to cram a lot of information into one post, and sometimes "jumbled" is the aftermath.) There will continue to be more pics than normal until the Anniversary Sale is over (because I still have more great pics to share), but I will work on toning it down afterwards. My hubby will tell you that brevity is not one of my gifts, so it's something that I am continually working on.

I agree with Melanie… I don't have a Nordstrom in my city (sad, but true) So I rarely shopped there… until your blog! Now I am a true blue fan! LOVE your blog and your great tips! You are my daily read!

My two Must Have shirts arrived today, and I'm going back for a third. I'm just as – if not more – impressed with the Kut from the Kloth jeans. It's TOUGH to find jeans that can pass for dress pants (policy at my job is no jeans…boo), but these are going to do the trick just fine!

Is the quilted jacket true to size? I'm pretty small, but sometimes the xs is too small in juniors! I love the look of it and the price. Just don't know which size to order. I already got the must have denim jacket in 2 colors and the must have jeans in 3 washes 🙂 Sadly, my foot was too narrow for the wedges!

  Hi Tricia! I actually had on a medium in the jacket in the picture. But, I'm not a good standard to look to. I have a big chest and rib cage, and I typically have to buy a size up in jackets and dresses. Actually, looking back at the picture, it looks like I might not have been able to zip it if I had tried. (I've tried on so many things that I don't remember.) I think I would suggest ordering the small, but I don't really know. Sorry I'm not a better help!
