Happy Monday, Ladies! I hope everybody had a wonderful weekend. My family was at the family ranch for The Sims Family Reunion. We actually headed down on Wednesday so we could spend the 4th there too. We soaked up so much wonderful family time with Grandmommy (Chris’s grandmother), Mimi and Papo (Chris’s parents), the SIL and nephew, aunts, uncles, and too many cousins to count. It was a great time!
I’ve been so excited about today’s post going live because the deals I’m about to share with you are pretty unbelievable. I’m working again today with JCPenney! If you remember, I worked with them back in April. I wasn’t a JCPenney shopper prior to the April post, but I asked for feedback from y’all on instagram stories, and over half of you voted for me to give it a shot and see what I could find. I happily signed on for the collaboration and went shopping!
The post went live, and y’all were SO SUPPORTIVE of the post and really loved the outfits I put together! I had fun shopping at a new for me retailer, and so many of you were so excited about the deals I was able to find. We all love a good bargain, right? So when they reached out last month asking if I could do a 3 part series (1 post each month for the next 3 months), I thought it would be great fun!
I hit up my local JCPenney again, spent several hours there, and emerged with a couple of great head to toe outfits. We’re talking earrings down to the shoes because the store proved to be a 1 stop shop for these looks. It’s my hope that if you are already a JCP shopper that you throw a couple of new items into your cart today. And I certainly hope that if you aren’t currently a JCPenney shopper, you will now look at the retailer through new eyes. Their prices definitely make it a great place to try out looks/trends that you might not want to spend a lot of money on….but you can also pick up some good solid basics.
And let me say one more time…the prices are fantastic. They are always running different specials, and today’s deals revolve around the code BUYNOW3. With the code BUYNOW3, you can get 60% OFF $100+ (select original and regular priced apparel, accessories, jewelry, and home), 40% OFF $40+, and an EXTRA 25% OFF select sale and clearance-priced apparel, shoes, accessories, jewelry, and home.
SUMMER OUTFIT IDEA #1
Look at this adorable outfit! For the first look, I went totally classic with a great pair of khaki shorts and a brightly colored madras top.
off the shoulder blouse / similar sunglasses / tassel earrings / khaki shorts / straw and metallic tote bag / flat sandals
This off the shoulder blouse comes in 5 colorways, but I was drawn to this plaid. I’m wearing it off the shoulder here, but it actually comes with little ties that can be tied in a bow on each shoulder – click through if you want to see. This is a great lightweight top for those of you that prefer not to show your upper arms, but the light weight fabric will still keep you cool. And if you love the pattern, but don’t like off the shoulder tops, you can get a cold shoulder version HERE and find it in plus size HERE. I’m wearing a small, which is true to size for me.
With the code BUYNOW3 and over $100 in my cart, this blouse is ONLY $14.80.
The top has 3/4 sleeves with a cute little gathered pleat and tie on each of them.
My shorts are just a great basic khaki short, but they actually come in a huge variety of solids and patterns (20 total choices!). I have the 4s, so they were true to size for me. They have excellent reviews if you want to see what others had to say about them.  With the code BUYNOW3 and over $100 in my cart, these shorts are only $12.80.
The tassel earrings remind me so much of a Madewell version I’ve seen at higher end stores. I love the colorful threads and how they will go with so many different outfits. And get this, right now they are ON SALE for $7.50.
AND GIRLS! CHECK OUT THIS TOTE! It’s regularly $60, but it’s 66% OFF right now and ON SALE for $19.99!!! That’s a stupid good deal.
It’s a great casual straw bag with a fun metallic handle which rests comfortably on my shoulder. It’s the perfect size to hold ALL THE THINGS without being too overwhelming, and I love that it’s lined so the contents of my bag don’t show through (like they sometimes will with other straw bags). In addition to being lined, the interior has 1 zippered pocket and two open pockets.
The slides are another wonderful basic. They also come in black, but I chose the nude/metallic for the versatility I knew they would offer. They are basically a flat sandal, although they do have a tiny little wedge heel. They are very comfortable and ran true to size for me.
There’s a LIMITED TIME OFFER happening over in shoes right now. I’m not sure if there are certain shoes that aren’t included, but I put 3 pairs of shoes in my cart (the key is putting in 3 pairs) and it drastically reduced the prices of all of them.  These slides are now showing as $18.66.Â
I’m head to toe JCPenney here, and I loved the entire look!

SUMMER OUTFIT IDEA #2
Tell me this outfit isn’t me.
off the shoulder top / similar earrings / turquoise necklace / similar shorts (plus size option) / straw and metallic tote bag / wedges
You know I gravitate towards embroidery, so it’s no wonder that this top caught my eye from across the store. I grabbed it (because of course I did), and I didn’t even notice that it wasn’t really embroidered until I got home. It makes sense that it’s a faux embroidery because it’s so inexpensive. I did size up two sizes to a Large in this top (it’s Junior’s sizing) to make sure it had plenty of length. I’m not a mama who will be showing my midriff EVER. #yourewelcome
With the code BUYNOW3 and over $100 in my cart, this top is only $16.80.
I stepped the outfit up a notch (or two) with this colorful turquoise statement necklace. I’m normally a gold girl when choosing metals, but this necklace is silver up top, and I still loved it. It’s a single clasp closure, but has the look of 5 individual necklaces hooked together. The stones are a beautiful turquoise, and I love the chunkiness. It definitely makes a statement and would add a lot of sass to a lot of different outfits!  With the code BUYNOW3 and over $100 in my cart, this necklace is just $16.20.
I mean! Check out the necklace!
They didn’t have any denim shorts in my size in store, but I found some online HERE and a plus size option HERE.
I had trouble finding these exact earrings online too. They are the Arizona brand if you are looking in store or want to try to find them yourself online (if you find them, make sure to send me a link!). They are definitely worth digging around for. Click HERE for a similar pair that’s just as cute and colorful.
The wedges are a dark cognac, and they also come in black and white. They have a 3″ platform, but I still found them easy to walk in, even though they don’t have a back strap. The insole is cushy, so I also thought they were surprisingly comfortable. Totally casual enough to be worn with denim shorts, but could just as easily be paired with a cute sundress or maxi.
Remember, if you put 3 pairs of shoes in your cart, the price on all 3 will be drastically reduced. Â These wedges are now showing showing up for just $17.54.
Yep, it was a fun look!
Once again, I had JCPenney to thank for almost the entire look!
I know some of you prefer not to wear a necklace, so I wanted to show you the look sans necklace as well. Just as cute, just a bit more casual without the bold statement necklace.
And I seriously can’t get enough of the tote. I’ve already carried it several times in other outfits, and it looks great with everything! Click HERE to see it styled with a pair of red bow slides and my favorite striped light weight sweater.
Such an easy outfit…
and I loved it!

I think it’s obvious that I love the straw bag highlighted above, but you can also check out some other straw bag options they have! I’m really loving this wide navy striped tote (with the cute pom pom). The shoe department at JCPenney has also impressed me on both trips. I really like the selection of a.n.a. sandals and the selection of Arizona sandals (remember these ruffled beauties from my last post?) These red bow slides came home with me, and I also love these ankle tie wedges.
When talking about shoes, don’t forget to put 3 pairs of shoes in your cart right now. If you do so, the prices of all of them reduce so much that it’s basically BUY 1, GET 2 FREE!
So like I said previously, after spending some time in JCPenney, I was very encouraged by some of the items that I found. What about you? Don’t you agree that the above outfits are outfits that you could see yourself in?!?! And there’s no denying that the prices are incredible! Yes, I spent several hours on my shopping trip, but I feel like the pieces I finally left with were more than worth that time investment! These darling outfits were totally worth my time and effort, and they were definitely worth my money because the prices were so incredibly reasonable. Sometimes I know we don’t mind spending money on investment pieces and/or pieces we know we are going to get a lot of mileage out of. But I know that there are also times that we just want an adorable outfit and a FANTASTIC deal.
A HUGE thanks to JCPenney for sponsoring this post and for giving us girls so many reasonably priced options!

I have to say that I am very happy to see the outfits from JCPenney. While I love your blog but unfortunately I am one who is unable to afford most of the items you review. Don’t get me wrong, I love seeing them, but they just aren’t in my budget! I’ve been a shopper for years at JCPenney and love that they carry Liz Claiborne but I also love their brands. And they do have fabulous deals that sometimes you just can’t beat. So thank you for taking a chance with them, and I hope we’ll see more!

So happy to hear you enjoyed the post, Nancy! There will be a fully dedicated post in both August and September!!! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂

Hi Sheaffer,
I have been reading your blog for years. But I am not sure I ever commented. But I bought a Loft shirt this weekend that is a little thin. It is made of more of that silky material. What is your favorite cami to go under those types of shirts?
Keep those Bachelor Recap coming!!!!!
Thanks!
Sheaffer says
Hi, Catherine! The BP camis at Nordstrom are great and only like $12! I size up to a medium! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂

I was excited to see another JCPenney post. I purchased a few of the “other” recommendations from the April post. Here in rural NE Missouri JCP is very common and the prices are great and more budget friendly for me (a teacher). I am looking forward to the future posts! Thanks.
BTW: My maiden name is Sims – so I’m sure we are related…. LOL!

Yay, Monica! So happy to hear you were excited for the post!!! I was totally amazed at the deals I found. xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂

I went to the JcPenney site to buy the Redken All Soft shampoo and Conditioner, and it is Buy 1 Get 1 50% off right now. And it wasn’t eligible for the BUYNOW3 code, but I used one of those coupon finder toolbars and found out that the code 17SHOP saved me another 15%. Just thought I would share since I know you’re a fan of it too. 🙂

Awesome! Thanks for the tip, Stacy! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂

I just want to say I really appreciate the fact that you point out plus size options when it’s applicable. Obviously it’s the last thing you personally need so thank you for thinking of others. I wish more bloggers were aware of those with different size needs. I love reading your blog and can always feel how upbeat you are.

Thanks so much, Marla! You’re sweet to take the time to leave a message! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
