I used to take time each month to show y’all what the reader favorite items were from the previous month. Y’all really liked the series, so I have no idea why I stopped doing it. Shame on me.
Well, it’s back baby!
Today you get to see the Top 5 Reader Favorites from last month.
Let’s get started!
NUMBER 5 – HEART SWEATER
Over the years I have compiled quite the collection of this sweater because it’s VERY well made, fits great, and is an awesome price point. I now have black, camel, green, leopard print, the pink grey and aqua stripe, and now this heart pattern. I’m telling you, the sweater is reallllllllllllly good. You can style it casually with jeans and sneakers, but it’s definitely nice enough to dress up for the office as well. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
It also comes in camel with red hearts, which might be my very favorite pattern of this particular sweater.
If you’re not into hearts, remember there are plenty colors and patterns to choose from (28 to be exact)!
NUMBER 4 – HEART EARRINGS
I’m in love with these tiny little heart earrings, so I wasn’t surprised to find out that y’all are too!
When looking for the earrings on the site, these “tiny hearts” are far right on the second row (but their placement might change), so look around if they aren’t there.
They are ONLY $12.99, and they look much more expensive than they are. I love that the charms are attached to huggie earrings, and I’ve found myself wearing them for days at a time without ever taking them off.
Aren’t they adorable?
They are so dainty and pretty!
These would also make a great gift for a daughter, a girlfriend, a teacher, etc.
Or you could just treat yourself!
If you order now, they arrive before Valentine’s Day!
NUMBER 3 – COZY WRAP JACKET
This baby definitely deserves a spot in the Top 3.
This cozy wrap jacket is straight up fabulous.
I’ve received lots of messages about this one from readers that took the plunge, and nobody can believe just how warm and cozy it is! It’s got a funnel neck collar, snap closure, and a super cozy fleece lining. And I really appreciate the additional length on this jacket. It keeps me nice and warm. It will be perfect for outdoor soccer games come spring!
I think the relaxed styling is a lot of fun and I definitely find myself wrapping up in it all the time.
For size reference, I’m in an extra small, so it runs quite large. I would definitely recommend sizing down a size (or maybe even 2).
I love it so much.
NUMBER 2 – BLACK WORK PANTS
I was SO EXCITED when I first found these pants. and then I was just as excited when the messages started coming in from y’all! STMT readers LOVE THEM TOO.
Remember the dress pants that I fell in love with a couple of years ago during the Anniversary Sale? Well, these are from the same maker and similar, but I think some of you are going to like these even more.
They are still super stretchy and basically feel like you are wearing pajama pants, but they don’t have the built in belt (which I liked, but I know many of you didn’t), and they have actual functional pockets! You pull these on, and while they don’t have a zipper, they do have a button and hook and eye closure.
For size reference, I’m wearing a 4 (not petite), but size down if between sizes. I’m almost 5’4″, but I do have long legs for my height. AND GET THIS! They are 40% OFF right now making them ONLY $40.80 for a great pair of black slacks.
Here I have them styled for the office. Because they are PERECT for the office.
Other times I showed the black pants this month…
Here I’m wearing my classic cashmere sweater with them (that I adore), and it’s still 50% OFF. I’m wearing a medium.
Because these pants don’t have the built in belt that the previous version had, it’s easier to wear longer tops without feeling like you need to do a 1/2 tuck. This beautiful cobalt blue sweater is a lovely find and shows how longer tops pair perfectly with these pants. I showed this sweater before with black jeans and mules, but it’s great dressed up for the office too. It’s super soft, has a double v neck (front and back), ribbing details, and a split hem. It’s got a great fit. It isn’t tight, but it’s not slouchy either. For size reference, I’m wearing a small.
NUMBER 1 – MUST HAVE LEGGINGS
Well, I guess I shouldn’t be surprised, but I was.
The MUST HAVE LEGGINGS were #1 YET AGAIN.
If you remember, they were the #1 reader favorite FOR ALL OF 2020.
That’s a big deal!!!
But I was a bit surprised that they held on to their #1 spot in January!
Still, I GET IT.
I mean, I did name them a MUST HAVE.
If you don’t already have them, here’s what you need to know about the leggings…
If you read the blog regularly, you know I named them a MUST HAVE back at the end of November. And now that I’ve had them for several months now, I can say beyond a shadow of a doubt that they one thousand percent deserve their MUST HAVE status. (I can’t believe they are still in stock, BUT THEY ARE!)
They are high waisted like the Zella high waisted live in leggings we all know and love. But get this, the waistband is a soft ribbed material. They don’t have as much compression as the original leggings, which actually makes them even more comfortable! And I’ll take comfort over compression every day of the week.
In addition to the cute pockets and the awesome ribbed waistband, there are also cute little bands at the bottom. I keep getting questions on if they are more like leggings or more like joggers, so here’s my official answer: They fit like leggings, but they are more in the style of a jogger (with the big pockets and banded cuffs). They’re awesome.
Also. THEY ARE SO SOFT. Like reallllllllllly REALLY soft.
And I’m telling you, the fit is adorable.
Officially these are “black”, but I think they are more of a really dark charcoal grey. For size reference, I’m wearing a small. I’ve heard that some people are sizing down in these, but I like the fit of my regular size. They don’t have as much compression as typical Zella leggings, but I kind of love it. It just increases their comfort factor!
And full disclosure, after hearing that many of y’all had ordered a 2nd pair in the same color, I did too.
It just made sense, you know?
Whenever mine are in the wash, I’m sad. So now that I have 2 pairs, I’m not sad as often. Haha!
Here are some other times I wore them in January…
The full zip hoodie sweatshirt is made of a soft cotton blend, and I know I’ll be grabbing it ALL THE TIME. It’s warm and incredibly cozy. This is the “grey porpoise”, but it also comes in black, navy, and “blue marlin” (which definitely has purple tones). Again, I’m wearing a medium.

I knew y’all would want to see it reversed too.
So now that I’m realizing how many times I showed the leggings in January, it totally makes sense why they’re #1 again. Looks like I finally broke some of y’all down with the constant I LOVE THESE LEGGINGS posts. But I do, y’all. I LOVE THESE LEGGINGS.
This sweatshirt is the big and boxy style that’s so in right now, and I still have plenty of room in the small, so definitely size down if in between sizes.
Another big and boxy option for you is this side split crewneck sweatshirt. Again, I’m wearing a small, and it’s still very roomy. As you can see, I also have the sleeves cuffed because they are quite long. It also comes in black and a soft blue, but I fell in love with this vibrant pink.
This relaxed fit hoodie sweatshirt is from Amazon and is another great option to pair with the leggings. It’s soft, cozy, and has a bit of stretch in it. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium. It also comes in blue, black, and grey.
So, now that y’all know the READER TOP 5 for January, I want to talk about a handful of things from last month that I PERSONALLY LOVED. These next items didn’t make your lists, but they were on the tip top of my list for sure, so I definitely think they are worth mentioning again.
These first two items are “just t shirts”, but my goodness I’ve been wearing the heck out of them. I’m still wearing athleisure the majority of the time right now, so they are the perfect layer to put on under my sweatshirts and hoodies.
I had no idea how much I was going to love this long sleeve tee when I got it, but my goodness I do. It’s so soft, and it’s a great length to peak out under other layers. You can see it on me HERE under the cozy wrap jacket and under both oversized sweatshirts.
If I don’t need long sleeves, this is the short sleeve tee that I’ve been wearing. I have it in black, in white, and in blue. When writing this post, I went to grab pictures of me in the t-shirt, and it seems I don’t have any. HAVE I NOT TOLD Y’ALL ABOUT THIS T-SHIRT? I could swear I have, but I can’t find record of it anywhere? I’ll definitely be showing this tee on Friday’s post. It’s a relaxed fit and it’s a little bit longer in the back than in the front, which makes it the perfect tee for leggings.
And this next one may surprise you, but the grocery service with WALMART+ is definitely a new personal favorite for me and was potentially my very top “find” for January. Click HERE for the post where I highlight all of the many reasons I LOVE Walmart+. But in a nutshell, I’ll tell you that the app makes ordering the groceries incredibly easy, AND THEN THEY ARE DELIVERED TO MY FRONT PORCH.
I’m not even being dramatic when I say it’s been life changing for me. I did a reallllllllly thorough review of the service, so click HERE to check it out.
Okay, that’s it!
YOUR favorites and MY favorites from January.
Have a great Wednesday, y’all! See you back here tomorrow!
