“Her colors are pink and pink!”
Who can name that movie?
Did you hear that, y’all? All the good Southern ladies just screamed “Steel Magnolias“!!! (Little bit of trivia here… Chris and I watched Steel Magnolias on our first date! Yep, after the Favorites dance during our junior year of high school, we went back to his house with some other friends. We snuggled up on a bean bag together and watched Steel Magnolias. It’s even the reason Carter’s middle name is Jackson!)
While talking about her upcoming wedding, Shelby (played by Julia Roberts) declared that her wedding colors were “blush and bashful…. one shade much deeper than the other.” While M’Lynn (played by Sally Fields) insisted that her colors were “pank and pank”. My gosh that movie makes me smile, and I think about this scene pretty much every single time I wear pink.
Like Shelby, I LOVE PINK.
All shades of it.
Wearing pink makes me happy, so I wear it quite often.
And today’s post is all about styling some pink pieces for spring! (But listen, if pink isn’t your thing, everything I’m featuring today comes in at least 1 more color.)

PINK CARDIGAN
Let’s kick things off with this fabulous cardigan.
It might not be blush and bashful, but it is hot pink and orange. Which is just as fabulous.

This color combo is vibrant, yet the cardigan is classy.
And honestly, it gives me Chanel vibes. In fact, if you want to go full on Chanel, you can grab the matching skirt!

It has a textured tweed pattern (which is what made me think of Chanel) and solid contrasting trim down the center, on the cuffs, on the pockets, and on the banded waist. The sweater is so interesting and looks much more expensive than its $30 price tag. For size reference, I’m wearing a small.

Here you can really see the texture and the contrasting trim.

PINK TRACK JACKET
This track jacket features a ribbed hem, a colorblocked pattern, and it’s super soft.
Plus, it’s just plain fun.
Again, hot pink and orange are really bringing it!

And while the cardigan at the beginning of the post gave us Chanel vibes, this track jacket is bringing alllll the retro vibes in the best way possible! Somebody get me to a roller rink! For size reference, I’m wearing a small.
Now I’m afraid I have some terrible news. This pink and orange combo seems to be sold out. I could bawl my eyes out for y’all, but you can still grab it in a really fun navy and powder blue color combo. I mean, it’s not pink and pink, but it’ll do.

STRIPED TEE
Check out this t-shirt.
It’s DARLING, right?
Well, get this… it’s ONLY $10.
And it’s 100% organic cotton.
I already own it in this “tangerine/tango” stripe, in the winter bloom stripe (eggplant and light purple), and a solid grey.
And it actually comes in 47 colors!!!
For just $10, you should grab a handful. These will be my GO TO t-shirts for the spring and summer.
It has EXCELLENT REVIEWS and most of them are 5-star. It’s soft, and I absolutely love the fit. It doesn’t hug the body at all, but it’s also not sloppy. And it’s the perfect length for me where I can either wear it out, or I can choose to do a half tuck.
For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

For a bold and super sporty look, style it with the track jacket!

PINK GINGHAM SWEATER
What’s better than solid pink?
PINK GINGHAM.
gingham sweater / sunglasses / earrings / jeans / similar tile bracelets / laser cut sneakers
This pink gingham sweater is adorable.
It’s soft, it’s a bit fitted, and it just feels great on. I’m wearing it here with regular denim, but just imagine how great it will look with white denim! For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

Okay, y’all.
The jeans.
I’ve worn them in every single one of today’s outfits.
I THINK THEY’RE AWESOME.
But here’s a pro tip: SIZE UP 2 SIZES.
Yep, 2 sizes.
Just do it.
They don’t have a lot of stretch to them, and my regular size wouldn’t zip up AT ALL. Like I knew 1 size up wouldn’t do the trick. But once I sized up two sizes, I love the fit! They fit like a glove and make me feel great! For size reference, I’m wearing an 8.

These white laser cut sneakers are a great inexpensive option for an all-white fashion sneaker. They’re only $22, when often you expect to pay upwards of $100 for a fashion sneaker. They are comfy and true to size, but I will say that they run quite wide. My foot is pretty narrow, and these make my feet look much wider than they are. This however is great news for y’all with a wider foot that often long for a little extra room!

PLANNING OUTFITS WITH PINK
Now, before you go, I’m going to share some of my recent outfit planning with y’all!
To be honest, this is one of my favorite new things I’ve been doing on the blog. I search for items I love, I build outfits around certain pieces, and then I create outfit collages for y’all! And here’s the extra fun part… I often end up ordering the pieces that make up the outfits so that I can wear them myself and review them for y’all. So stay tuned for that!
Ladies! This skirt is FABULOUS. I already got it in, and I seriously can’t believe how cute it is. I think it looks so high end!
I would definitely recommend sizing down. I ordered the small, but I think I need to go even smaller, so the x-small is on its way to me (and I’m not an x-small). The elastic on the back of the waistband makes it very comfortable and very forgiving. Now that I’ve received the skirt, I think it might be better suited for flat sandals than the block heels in the collage because the skirt itself is pretty short. I think it would even be cute worn casually with sneakers!
denim jacket / white tee / skirt / black tote / sunglasses / earrings / tile bracelets / orange sandals
If you prefer a little bit of length, this pink and red wavy gingham skirt is absolutely darling. It’s a crisp cotton poplin that’s a pull-on style, which means it’s probably going to be super comfortable. It’s already on its way to me as well. I love everything in this outfit and cannot wait to recreate it.

OH MY WORD I am dying over this pink moto jacket. I think it’s so cool, and I love it with the white tee and straight leg jeans! The whole outfit is just effortlessly cool, don’t ya think?
pink moto jacket / white tee / jeans (size up 2 sizes) / black sandals / sunglasses / earrings / tile bracelets / gold bracelet
In this outfit, I used the same white tee, the same jeans, and the same accessories. I lost the jacket, and I added color with the pink bag and the orange sandals. I think this would be a great look for a girl’s night out!
white tee / jeans (size up 2 sizes) / pink bag / orange sandals / sunglasses / earrings / tile bracelets / gold bracelet
I changed out the bag and the shoes again to create this cute and casual look that is perfect for running around town on a warm spring or summer day. And everything you see in this collage is $30 and under.
white tee / jeans (size up 2 sizes) / straw tote / laser cut sneakers / sunglasses / earrings / tile bracelets / gold bracelet
The straw tote looked great with the jeans above, and you can see here that it’s also cute styled with a swimsuit and cut-offs!
This pink seersucker swimsuit looks designer to me, but it’s only $24.99! The straps are adjustable, the cups are sewn in (THANK YOU!), and I love the low profile leg cut-outs. It’s also got full hiney coverage, which I very much appreciate! The slides and the earrings bring more pink and more fun to the look.

And ONE MORE THING! Look at this perfectly pink neoprene tote!
It’s absolutely perfect for travel, for the beach, and for the pool! It’s durable, lightweight, and can easily be wiped down and clean. It also comes in solid pink, solid black, white and black, and a blue and turquoise combo. At only $24.98, it’s an incredible deal!

Walmart is having a moment with pink and I’m here for it!

Is there a more spring-y color than pink?! I think not!
Jen says
So cute! One of the many reasons I follow you is because you find such cute things that are so bright and cheerful! Living in the dreary midwest, I have no interest in wearing neutrals, LOL. Off to go check out some of these links!

Awww, thanks for the sweet words! I appreciate you, Jen! xoxo
Jill says
Any chance you have a link for the woven handbag in the first pictures. I like this one because it looks like it has a longer strap than many I have seen.
Thank you.

Yes, Jill! It’s well made and I love it! Copy and paste this link: https://amzn.to/3KDxrGv

Pink will forever be “my signature color”!
I saw the play before the movie was even thought about and identified with those lines immediately! Therefore, I loved your blog today!! Everybody can wear a shade of pink and look beautiful in it!
(Also, I grew up less than 100 miles from Natchitoches, LA, and have been there many times, so it makes Steel Magnolias even more special.)

The track jacket is my fav!! And I may have to give the jeans a try! So fun!!
And, Oh MY, those skirts are everything!!! 😍
Beth says
While in college my sorority sisters and I (Phi Mu!) said Shelby HAD to be a Phi Mu since she loved pink so much! Ha! And I quote the line the same way you typed it “Pank and pank!” Love that movie so much!
Robin says
Have you done something different with your hair? It looks fabulous!! It always looks great, but I just noticed on this post that it is looking extra special.
Sheaffer says
Hi, Robin! You’re so sweet! On this post, I used my T3 curling iron too (in addition to my rollers)! Haha! Like I always roll my hair, but sometimes I go back in and use my T3 curling iron to do some like loose spiral curls. xoxo
