**********************************************************************
THIS IS A PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT.
If you don’t have a denim jacket yet, you are going to have to trust me on this:
YOU NEED ONE.
Like now.
Actually, like yesterday.
Forget everything you knew about denim jackets back in 1995, because this jacket is different.
If you’ve been following me since the beginning, then you already know about THIS jacket.
It was THE VERY FIRST MUST HAVE I named!
In fact, it was the item that made me realize I needed to give very special items “MUST HAVE” status.
It’s over 2 years later, and it’s still one of the most worn items in my closet.
I wear it all year long.
I wear it with little A-line skirts and colored shorts in the summer (I always have a jacket or cardigan at night or when going in restaurants or movies), I wear it in spring and fall with white jeans and chinos, and I wear it during the winter months with cords!
It also pairs perfectly with dresses. I wear it with maxis in spring and summer, and there are some other dresses I wear it with while wearing leggings in the fall and winter.
I haven’t been linking to it for a good long while now because it hasn’t been available (I did find it at Zappos a couple of weeks ago..but I know most of you just prefer to order from Nordstrom), and I hate getting all of the questions about it and then just having to say “no longer available.”.
WELL.
NOW IT’S AVAILABLE AT NORDSTROM!
Click HERE for my facebook post from Wednesday where lots of readers of varying heights and sizes commented on their love for the jacket!
Here’s the new graphic I made for it.
And just for fun…here was my original must have graphic for this jacket.
Let’s all take a minute to take in that sequined cross body.
And here are a TON of different looks with me in the jacket so you can see how it truly does
go with everything!
Most of the items (besides THE JACKET) in the below pics are sold out.
However, if they are still available, I will note that!
With a graphic tee and leopard flats!
I’ve got some black maxi dress options for you, because it’s such a great staple…and it looks great paired with a denim jacket!

FAVORITE #2: MY NEW AUTISM TEE
So y’all know Candace, right?
I used to see her son for therapy a couple of years ago, and we became friends!
She is the sweet (and inspirational!) mama that was the original inspiration for the Special Mama contests! Well, she and her hubby just designed these AWESOME NEW SHIRTS!
Click HERE to pre-order her new Autism shirt.
I LOVE the sporty look, the v neck, and the color is the perfect green.
And I especially love the story behind the shirts .
For size reference, I’m wearing a small.
And LOOK HOW FLIPPING CUTE Candace and her hubby Brian are in the shirts!
Candace is wearing a medium and Brian is wearing a large!
If you get this shirt, you get a DARLING shirt (of course!)…AND you get to help support a precious family doing everything they can for their precious son!
And in related news, I had a reader e-mail about the following (Thank You Brook H!), and I thought it would be fun to share. Here is Brooke’s e-mail:
He is a special needs teacher from Jacksonville FL taking the Facebook nation by storm. He is trying to teach love and compassion for all kids and is gaining tons of publicity that is ultimately helping kids like my Parker. Sesame Street has even caught wind and shared him. I thought I would let you know in case you wanted to share with you readers. It looks like you have lots of special needs mamas following from your giveaways. He is trying to get to 500,000 likes to make a bigger impact on getting our kids accepted. My Parker was lucky enough to meet him here in Atlanta and it was life changing. Thought I would share.
So, I think everybody needs to hop over here and “like” his page!
Thanks again Brook for sharing!

If you’ve been reading here for awhile, then you know I fell in love with Zella gear last year. Over a year later, and I still love it. The gear all holds up beautifully in the wash, it stays put while working out, and it’s just plain cute. I really do wear it to work out, but I also wear it out while doing errands!
I got these new capris and this new top to kick off my weight loss again this year. I swear it helps me get dressed to work out when I’ve got cute gear to put on.
(And for those of you wondering…….YES. I gained some weight back this year even though I swore last year that I wasn’t going to. For the record, I knew I would, because I always do.
Good News: I’ve already lost 4 pounds since the below pics were taken! WooHoo!
And guess what..I rewarded myself for the 4 pound weight loss with a couple of tacos at the mall yesterday. Seriously. I did. 😉
#oops
cross back tee / Zella capris / similar Nikes
With Zella, I always size up to medium in the tops and jackets, and I always get a small in pants.

FAVORITE #4: MY COOL DUDE
Last Friday was Fifties day at school.
#enoughsaid
#coolcat
***************************************************************************
FAVORITE #5: MY LOVE
I put this on instagram late last week, but wanted those of y’all who don’t follow me over there to see it too!
This was taken at the end of mine and Chris’s first date, the Favorites dance at Lake Highlands High School on February 12th, 1994! The friend taking our picture told me to kiss him, and I took the opportunity! So happy he’s still mine 22 years later! (Pay no attention to the choke hold and my nose in his eye…I was nervous!) 🙂
Love You Babe!
****************************************************************************
FAVORITE #6 and #7: Ring Holder and Fragrance
I bought this GIRAFFE RING HOLDER for myself back when I featured West Elm in December. It was on backorder, so it just arrived a couple of weeks ago. I think it’s so cute, and I love always knowing where my rings are! And that bottle that you see on the right is JO MALONE WOOD SAGE AND SEA SALT.
I’m not really a perfume girl (it always ends up either making me nauseaus or giving me a headache), so I haven’t worn any for years. I think it was Erika that told me about Jo Malone sometime last year after it was recommended to her!
So, there was a period of a couple of months where almost every time I would go to the mall, I would go by the perfume counter and spray some on because I wanted to see if I could handle the scent throughout the day. Well, I loved every one I tried. But then Melanie talked about this particular fragrance being amazing, so I asked for it for Christmas.
I know this it sound weird.
But I really enjoy smelling like wood sage and sea salt. 🙂
Find all Jo Malone fragrances for women HERE.
Other favorites of mine (I know this because of the whole spraying them on me every time I’m at the mall thing) are Orange Blossom and Nectarine and Honey.

FAVORITE #8: New Welcome Mat
I wanted a new spring door mat, and I found this one online at Target yesterday!
I have a couple of cedar colored adirondack chairs (very similar to THESE!) on the front porch with a distressed blue and white table in between them. The door has a green berry wreath on it, so I thought THIS would be perfect!
***************************************************************************
FAVORITE #9: WIT AND WISDOM JEANS
So for all of you Wit and Wisdom lovers out there, CHECK OUT THIS NEW PAIR THAT WAS JUST RELEASED!
If you have these jeans, leave a comment! Or if you are just a Wit and Wisdom lover and are going to immediately buy these jeans because you just trust you are going to love them, leave a comment! wink emoticon
For those of you not familiar. They are soft, stretchy, and women’s sizing (vs. the Junior’s sizing of my Vigoss). And they are a mid-rise vs. a low rise, so you won’t be constantly tugging at them to keep them up! Some people size down a size, but I find them to be true to size for me.
Click HERE for the new jeans.
Here are some comments people left on facebook about them a couple of days ago.
Click HERE for the Wit and Wisdom that I originally named a MUST HAVE in December of 2014!
Click HERE for all of the choices, including a pair of white ones that readers have said are great (with no show pockets)!
Oh my gosh!! Wit and Wisdom are the only jeans I wear! I bought them online at your suggestion and they were perfect. I have several pair. I love these new ones – Jennifer C.
I don’t even like my regular jeans anymore. I only have a regular and black pair but they are all I wear these days! – Suzanne M.
got the other pair you recommended and LOVE them. gotta get these now too they are so comfortable, flattering, don’t bag out and are a great price. love them! thanks for the recommendation. Tricia H.

FAVORITE #10: BLOGGER PERKS
So, after blogging for 3 years, I can definitely say that blogging has some perks.
But that’s only because of y’all! So, thank you!
Some retailers have started to notice that I have a big audience (I know it’s only a fraction of what many bloggers have…but I’m super proud of y’all!), and they will sometimes send me things!
I think lots of bloggers get free stuff all the time.
I don’t, so when I do, I find it SUPER COOL.
Now.
Let me also say this.
There are a lot of things I receive that never make it to the blog.
Why?
Let’s call the items “questionable”.
Some things I get are just not my style. Like AT ALL.
Like this past fall I got a black felt purse and a black floppy hat.
Um, thank you but no thank you.
So, all that to say, blogging definitely has some perks (especially when you get free stuff)…
but don’t worry….
I don’t care if it’s free or not, if I don’t like it, I won’t act like I do.
#fistbump
Well, this week was a big week for me.
I can go months without receiving something in the mail (that I didn’t order for myself! ha!), but this week I received 3 items! And they were all AWESOME!
I got a necklace, a bracelet, and a bag (seen in the below pics).
WooHoo!
#swag
Also, I’m loving this sweater.
Just fyi, they call it a “sweatshirt” on the site. But a sweatshirt it is NOT.
It’s a very light sweater.
For size reference, I’m wearing a small in the sweater (true to size) and a medium in the cami (I sized up).
kate spade multi-glitter studs /
initial pendant necklace c/o Monica Vinader / figi friendship bracelet c/o Monica Vinader
medium sized leather cross body c/o GiGi New York
The bag is GORGEOUS.
Monica Vivader reached out about a year ago and asked if they could send me some jewelry. I declined, because many of their price points are above $100, and I typically feature jewelry that isn’t quite so expensive.
They reached out again and said they’ve found that many women don’t mind treating themselves to a special piece of jewelry every once in a while.
Well who can argue with that?
#certainlynotme
#treatmetojewelry
The jewelry is delicate and lovely, but I’m afraid my pictures just don’t do it justice.
Click HERE to see the friendship bracelet c/o M.V. (I should have photographed the back of the bracelet because it’s lovely and comes in many colors).
Mine has my name written in cursive…
but you can also do initials or a word like “LOVE”, or “HOPE”!
And click HERE for my sweet initial necklace c/o M.V.
Again, my pics don’t do it justice.
It’s sparkly and lovely, and I’m so proud of it!
Thank you to Monica Vinader for these generous gifts!
And her rings are GORGEOUS.
If you deserve a really nice present, you might want to lobby for one of these babies! Just click on what you are interested in! 🙂
WOW!
That was a lot of favorites today. Give yourself a high five if you stuck with me all the way to the end. Have a wonderful weekend everybody!
xoxo,
Sheaffer 🙂

As I read through this post today I became keenly aware of all of the things that are in my closet because of you. The AC necklace, the gold ladder necklace, the long tanks from Target, the military jacket … I could go on and on. Thanks for your honest reviews and for helping me look presentable so I don't embarrass my teenage daughter. (: Susan
Erika Slaughter says
I just love that throwback of you and Chris! The choke hold might be my favorite part. :). And your cool cat was rock in' his 50's attire! He makes me wanna grab my poodle skirt.
Mix and Match Mama says
Power to the Must Have Denim Jacket. I remember so clearly the day you told me I needed it. We were at Tin Star (shocker) and you said you just found it and I needed it. I said no (who wants a denim jacket?), you showed me a picture on your phone of you in it. I bought it 15 minutes later (after I ate my tacos, of course). I think this is my FAVORITE Must Have you've named!
Narci says
So many cute things today–I love that Anthro top soooo much!!!! Everyone NEEDS that denim jacket though! I wear mine all the time! It seriously goes with everything!!
Anonymous says
I've been reading your blog since the beginning, and I have a lot of must haves (and a lot of other stuff too). I love all of it, but the denim jacket is my favorite purchase I've ever made off your blog. I bought it when you did, so I've already had it for over 2 years, and I still reach for it all the time. I wear it so often that my mom and sisters all ended up getting it too. I picked up the white one last summer and although I don't wear it as often, I love it as well.
Lisa B says
Hey Sheaffer- great post- so many great pieces and outfits! On the denim jackets…the light one is "Amelia" and dark one is "Helena"- would you say the fit is the same or close? I do want it fitted and not boxy! Thanks for all! xo
Sheaffer {Pinterest Told Me To} says
Hi Lisa! Yes, definitely the same fitted look. And still just as soft and not boxy! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂

Lisa – I have the original, the dark Helena, and the white Helena. I might have an addiction! Ha! They are all fitted and soft. Have a great day! Jennifer

Thank you Sheaffer and Jennifer! Now, which to order…decisions, decisions! xo

Oh my! I love that Monica Vivader jewelry! It's out of my day to day price range, but maybe I'll pass it on to my husband for Birthday or Christmas ;).

My best friend lives in Philly and I'm in DC. Recently she and her hubbie came down for a visit and when I came down dressed for the day wearing your Must Have Tunic, leggings, boots, and Kendra Scott she KNEW I had to be a PTMT reader! She had to take a pic to send to another friend who is also a reader and all three of us had just received our tunics that week. We went out shopping that day and would pick up something and say "Sheaffer would love these" So if you're ever on the east coast, hit us up because I know that we would all be instant besties!!!
Sheaffer {Pinterest Told Me To} says
I ❤️ this Kim!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!! Xoxo, Sheaffer ?

Love my Must Have Denim jacket!!!! Definitely worth the money!!
So excited that the anthropology sweater is on sale!!!! Yay!
Have a great weekend!!

I'm so glad you mentioned Special Books By Special Kids! His page is my favorite thing on facebook. In fact, I gave up facebook for Lent, but told myself I could look at just his posts after my daughter goes to bed. Mr. Chris and his friends are so inspirational and doing AMAZING things.
Candace @ countingonhope says
Sheaffer, THANK YOU for always being so supportive of me, my peeps, and our tees! It means a great deal. BTW, the third graphic of you (in the white pants, leopard flats, and graphic tee) is my favorite look! Now I gotta go read more about Christopher Ulmer. Sounds amazing!
Anonymous says
I bought the denim jacket because of you and have the darker denim and the white. I actually wear the white all the time in the summer with maxi dresses so if anyone is on the fence about the white jacket I think it is it's own Must Have!

Carter in his fifties outfit & that throwback photo of you and Chris is just too cute!! Love your Target welcome mat! I'm headed there this week to look for a new one for our house too!

I loved your denim jacket so much, I also have one that I bought like 7 years ago and still alive with me haha 🙂 anyway your son looks so cute and I am happy that you are still with your husband till now.
Aha, almost forgot, love your last look so much, it is one of the coolest looks I have seen this week.

Okay! I just caved and ordered the denim jacket 🙂 I ordered both L and XL since I have no clue how it will fit and my upper arms are…ahem…athletic ;). I love seeing all of the ways that you wear it and I hope it will become a staple in my closet as well – especially as we get into spring and summer!
Melissa Dykstra says
Hi Sheaffer! I'm hoping you will post some colored jeans again like the salmon ones posted above with the must have denim jacket??? Loved the post, Spring is in the air.
Dawn Engle says
There is NO DENYING the MUST HAVE Denim jacket! I too have worn it on thousands of occasions all year long – and I live in Ohio!! It completes SO MANY outfits! I'd be lost without it! THANK YOU SHAFFER!!!
Brandy says
I love Jo Malone as well! I received Wood Sage & Sea Salt as my Christmas present for 2014! My other favorite scent is Peony & Blush Suede. Interesting fact, Jo Malone is actually unisex and it is designed so one can mix scents to create a truly unique perfume/cologne. I learned this tip when I visited a stand alone store while living in London last year. Long live Jo Malone!
Lori Helms says
I have a similar jean jacket and I wear it a lot. My favorite combo is the jean jacket with a maxi dress in the Spring. I got my military jacket from Nordstrom and paired with a really cute linen floral tee from Loft. I loved the combo. Are you going to be featuring the Gigi NY bag more next week…would love to hear more about it.
Sheaffer {Pinterest Told Me To} says
Sounds so cute Lori! And yes…you'll be seeing it again next week, but probably not until Friday. xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
Angela Pino says
The picture from your first date is the sweetest thing! Do the Zella capris come with a hidden pocket for keys? I saw their running tights have a zipper pocket, but can't seem to find any info on the capris.
Sheaffer {Pinterest Told Me To} says
I have several pairs of Zella pants…and they all have a little pocket in the front. Hope this helps! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
Farryn says
The MUST HAVE denim jacket is a classic closet staple!!! Just as you mentioned, it's perfect for all seasons and goes with seriously everything !!!
Kim Marrero says
I'm curious how the Savannah tote fits over the shoulder. Love you blog!!
Sheaffer {Pinterest Told Me To} says
Hi Kim! I'll try to get a picture of it later in the week. It fits comfortably right over the shoulder and hangs right under the armpit. Hope this helps! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
Cathy says
Hi Sheaffer! Love your style and sense of humor! I really love the brown boots that you wear a lot! I found a pair of Miz Mooz patch size 8 on Amazon, but I wear a size 7 1/2. Do they run true to size? I do have the Sam Edelman Penny ones you recommended, but have always loved yours. Just wanted your opinion! Also, I was wondering if you could share how you store your necklaces. I've collected quite a few since I've started following you! LOL! Thank you so much!! Cathy
Sheaffer {Pinterest Told Me To} says
Hi Cathy! They are AWESOME boots! They were true to size for me. A 6 1/2 like always! And thanks for reading and for the sweet words! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
Cassie {Hi Sugarplum} says
Okay, you look DARLING in that Anthro embroidered top and that size fits you perfectly! Second, I own two denim jackets, but I'm seriously considering this one bc you never let me down!!! Also, that pic of you and C makes me so happy every time I see it…and laugh a little. 😉 xo
