It’s Friday, so y’all know what that means! It’s time to link up with Erika, Andrea, and Narci to let everybody know what some of my favorite things are right now!
************************************************
The first item in today’s post had to be these wedges. I’ve talked about them before…but you need to know that I’m going to be talking about them and wearing them all spring and summer. 🙂 They are the perfect neutral to go with any color and a great style because they can be easily dressed up or down (with jeans, shorts, skirts, dresses, whatever)! The stock seems to be holding strong….but like I said before, lots of bloggers are talking abut them, so it won’t be long until sizes start disappearing.
They are VERY comfy, easy to walk in, true to size, a great color (they come in a cool grey too), and I love the rope detailing on the wedge. AND THEY ARE JUST UNDER $80!

I’m soooooo excited about these next finds!
I’m not a bikini girl. HEAVEN KNOWS I wish I was, but I’m not. Never have been really.
So when I found this suit earlier this week I ordered it immediately. You can find it at Nordstrom (I know many of you are loyal to Nordstrom because of their free shipping and customer service), but it’s also at J Crew (and it’s ON SALE right now)! The swimsuit is incredibly comfortable and covers everything it needs to. No cheeky bottoms! Hooray! The material is a bit more cloth like than spandex-y, and the ruching is SO flattering. It looks cute both with and without the halter strap, and the cut of the legs isn’t too high at all. I ordered the size 6 and it fit perfectly (I’m a 4 in jeans, but I need room in the chest area).
I just received the denim shorts yesterday, but I think I’m going to love them! Last year, lots of you asked for denim shorts that weren’t distressed, and those ended up being hard to find. I’m so happy with these because they are stretchy and not too short. I did size up a size (to a 28) because I don’t like my denim shorts tight AT ALL.
And check out these flip flops! If you click over to them you will see that they have a bit of a platform. Here’s what the site has to say: Take casual comfort up a level with this biomechanically engineered version of a classic flip-flop featuring ultra-lightweight iQUISHION micro-bubble foam cushioning, built-in arch support and a flexible, slip-resistant sole. They only come in 1/2 sizes, so I sized up to a 7. I typically size up a 1/2 size in flip flops when they only come in whole sizes.
If you love the tote, make sure to use the code STMTSAVE10 for 10% OFF your Barrington order! And if you are a loyal Barrington shopper, you need to go check out their new spring patterns and monograms!
swimsuit at Nordstrom / swimsuit at J Crew ON SALE! – brings the total down from $110 to ONLY $69.30 / ombre tassel earrings / denim shorts / similar sunglasses / palm leaf tote bag c.o. Barrington / flip flops

And now it’s time for 2 PERFECT SPRING (AND SUMMER) OUTFITS!
I showed y’all these 2 outfits in flat lay form last week, and now you are getting to see how they look ON. Both of these shirts are SO ME, and I can’t wait to be wearing them on constant repeat. I love tops that have a little something special, and these definitely have that. And I’m a big ol’ fan of embroidery. And guess what…they are both 30% OFF right now!!!
LOOK HOW CUTE THIS OUTFIT IS!
I’m dying over the top. There’s nothing much I love more than chambray paired with white denim, so this outfit is giving me all the feels. I’m wearing a small in the top, and I do wish it was a little more narrow in the shoulders, but it does fit everywhere else.
And let’s take a minute to talk about these white jeans. Stretchy, comfy, AND NOT SEE THRU! #BAM They are true to size for me, but if you are between sizes I would suggest sizing down. White jeans are a staple for me all year long, but especially in the spring and summer months.

I got this white one with the gorgeous red-orange embroidery as well. It is sheer, so I wear my favorite ($12!) cami under it! The cami runs small, so I would definitely size up (I wear a medium in the cami). For a total summer look, I paired it with white jeans. For spring, I think it will look great with regular denim as well! And it will be oh so cute with a great pair of distressed denim shorts.
And for a more casual look, I would just carry a cognac tote like this one (a great deal for under $50!)!
embroidered voile blouse / clutch / white jeans / wedges / turquoise earrings / turquoise bracelet

UPDATE FRIDAY MORNING: I had several readers leave comments that they were wanting a pair of white jeans that were NOT distressed….here’s a great option…
From the same maker and only $64!

A couple of weeks ago I had a READER QUESTIONS post… I posted a new chambray shirt I had found, but I mentioned my love for my denim popover that was several years old (and totally worn out). Well, I got the following tip from a reader!
Hey there! I know you love a good popover and were looking for a good chambray one in a post some time ago – came across this add and thinking of ordering and wanted to pass along. – taylor
Click HERE for the denim popover. Thanks for the recommendation, Taylor! (I have no idea why the picture is so dang small!)

Lots of you have been asking for a Get Healthy Update!
So here’s the deal…I still haven’t weighed….but based upon how my clothes are fitting, I think I’ve lost a solid 10-12 pounds! I’ve been SUPER dedicated, and I’m very proud of that. Working out 5 days a week has helped, but it’s definitely my diet that has had the most impact on my weight loss. We “cheat” one time a week when we go out to eat as a family at our favorite burger place, but I’m not kidding when I say that every other meal and snack is super healthy.
Lots of y’all are wanting ideas, so I’m just going to share random pics and descriptions of some of the favorite things I’ve been eating.
These first two pictures are of my newest concoction. First, I roast cherub tomatoes, corn, and broccoli. I just spray it all with Pam and sprinkle with Kosher salt. You could obviously toss in olive oil as well, but I’m trying be super low in fat and calories, so I just use the Pam.
After the veggies are all roasted and yummy, I toss them in with the zucchini and lentil pasta I told y’all about a couple of weeks ago. I finish it off with a little bit of parmesan cheese and some Everything But The Bagel seasoning. AND GIRLS. IT’S AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS. Look how good that looks!
Here’s the pasta package if you need a reminder. I get mine at Market Street, but I’m guessing other grocery chains carry it as well.
My other recent find is going to BLOW YOUR MIND. It’s chocolate hummus.
CHOCOLATE.
HUMMUS.
But it of course doesn’t taste like hummus…it tastes similar to a rich and fudgey icing. FOR REAL. I love it on strawberries and pretzels. I’ve also smeared it on top of a granola bar. If you are somebody that needs to satisfy a sweet tooth, pick this up! The ingredients are simple: steamed chickpeas, organic sugar, water, sunflower oil, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, sea salt, and Nisin (a natural preservative). Nutrition information follows: in a 2 TBSP serving there are 80 calories, 4.5 grams of fat, and 10 grams of carbs. So, the key to this is RESTRAINT. I typically get out like 5 strawberries or a handful of pretzels to dip….and once those are gone, I put the chocolate away. 😉
For the last several weeks, my breakfast has been the same thing: 1 piece of toasted Ezekial bread with Trader Joe’s reduced fat guacamole (with greek yogurt) and Trader Joe’s Everything But The Bagel Seasoning. I eat this and drink a pink lemonade Spark. And I actually look forward to it every single morning. We typically eat dinner really early (like we are done and kitchen is cleaned up by 6:00), so I start thinking about this around 8:30 p.m. the night before. 🙂
And if you need a reminder this is what the tub of guac and the seasoning looks like. A 2 TBSP serving of the guac has only 30 calories, 2 grams of fat, and 2 grams of carbohydrates. And the seasoning makes everything better.
I picked up this Wonton Soup at Trader Joe’s as well. The broth is good and and it has 6 wontons in it. It’s low in fat and calories, but it is high in sodium, so watch out for that. I typically eat half of this with……
this cauliflower fried rice (also from Trader Joe’s), stir fried up with either chicken or shrimp.
This is the frozen cauliflower rice I buy, and I drizzle in a bit of this sesame ginger dressing in both the “rice” and with the chicken.
The next several pics are examples of some of my lunches. Broccoli with my favorite hummus and tuna salad with Greek yogurt (instead of mayo). I grew up eating tuna with red apples, celery, and relish…so that’s how I make it too! Finish it off with a little of the Everything But The Bagel seasoning, and you’re good to go. This is an example of something I would eat if I was wanting to eat a really low carb lunch. I also love to eat the tuna on a piece of Ezekial bread.
This next picture was a lunch I grabbed when I was out and about one day. I got the kid’s grilled chicken from Zoe’s Kitchen with 2 helpings of the roasted veggies. It was obviously a small portion, so I added some of the Trader Joes low fat guac and some Nut Thins to help fill me up.
We’re eating a lot of grilled chicken, fish, and veggies…but we also still do taco and burger night, we just do it a little differently! Normally when we would grill hamburgers at home, I would eat a regular burger on a regular bun….and if we’re being honest, I would eat tater tots with Carter. Here’s the deal. I LOVE TATER TOTS. Like reallllllly love them. But, since I’m making really smart choices right now, this is how I do burger night now. That’s a Chili Lime Chicken Burger (from Trader Joe’s) on one of those fold-it flatbreads. And instead of tator tots, I eat Pecan Nut Thins with one of my favorite dips (low fat sour cream and salsa mixed together). I still get to do burger night, but I cannot even imagine how many fat and calories I’m saving!
In case you’re interested, here’s a picture of the chicken burgers. One burger has 150 calories, 6 grams of fat, 19 grams of protein!, and only 3 grams of carbohydrates. I just heat them up in a skillet with Pam, with some of the Chili Lime seasoning thrown on top.
If y’all like this, let me know, and I will continue to share what I’m eating!

These two. Always snuggling.

I mostly posted lunches, Kim. At night we are eating lots of fish and grilled chicken, with 2 veggies as a side. It gets a little boring, but it works! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂

Love your meal ideas ! Thank you !

Another healthy way to do burgers and you can still use lean beef or bison is wrap them in lettuce. It’s the only way we do burgers now and it’s FABulous! Bibb/Butter lettuce is our fav. It’s a little messier but worth it.
cassie {hi sugarplum} says

What time do you go to bed if yiu finish dinner at 6pm? Do you not het hungry again?
Do you meal prep in advance or just normal daily prep?
Sheaffer says
Hi, Cindy! I’m typically not hungry after dinner?!? The nights that I am, I try to have a piece of fruit. I’m typically not asleep until around. Some things are prepped (like tuna salad or quinoa salad for several days), but everything else is just daily prep! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
Jill says

I tried the veggie pasta because of you and I loved it (and so did my kids!). Have you tried the Green Giant veggie tots? I have no idea the nutritional details and I haven’t tried them, yet. I didn’t know if it would help you get your tater tot fix!

I love the meal ideas. Thanks Sheaffer!
Btw…a while ago I told you I took part in a Murad study that was going to include some print and commercials. For the wardrobe fitting, they let us bring samples of what we like to wear and they actually chose one of the outfits I brought, which was a ‘Sceaffer Told Me To” copy! Here is the link to a picture used(scroll down and look for the pink sweater-only shows the top half and also they removed the necklace but I copied the whole look!). https://www.resurgence.com

another great idea for those chicken lime burgers……let them thaw, crumble them up and cook it like ground beef, add a little of their brown rice (which can be found in the frozen section) and some salsa, and stick it in some taco shells with some cheese (or not for a lower fat version) SO easy and so tasty!!! Make this all the time for my kiddos!
