Friday Favorites: Spring Outfit Edition

It’s Friday, so y’all know what that means!  It’s time to link up with Erika, Andrea, and Narci to let everybody know what some of my favorite things are right now!

There’s lots of great Spring outfits on the blog today….and as I was loading all the pics in the post, I realized my MUST HAVE JACKET (from 4 years ago that is still available!) was in every single picture but 1.  So, this is almost like a STYLE IT AGAIN, SHEAFFER post, with the star being the jacket.  I mean, the jacket has been a star in my closet (and the blog) going strong for 4 years now, so it might as well be the star of it’s own post!  😉

I’m basically here to tell you, if you don’t have it, you need to fix that today!  In fact, if you have the jacket, PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT ON THE BOTTOM OF TODAY’s POST!  My turquoise necklace and my rainbow tassel also appear in most of the pics today.  What can I say, these 3 pieces have stood the test of time with me!

I really believe this jacket is denim jacket perfection.  It’s soft and stretchy (not stiff like denim jackets of yore), and it’s not boxy at all!  I wouldn’t call it cropped, but it’s definitely not long either.  It hits right above my hips and looks great with both jeans and dresses.  It’s just a really great FLATTERING jacket, and I’m obviously so happy to have had it for the last 4 years.  I wear it all year long, but it gets the most use during the spring and summer months.  It is without a doubt one of the Top 5 worn items in my closet. I wear it all day long most of the time in the Spring…but I also carry it with me to restaurants, movies, etc during the summer when it’s hot outside, but the a.c. is always blazin’ inside!  I sized up to a medium, and after reading reviews, it seems that pretty much everybody sizes up 1 size (and some even size up 2 sizes).

This dress is new to my closet (I actually am keeping the camo one seen in the next picture), but I knew many of you would prefer the stripes to the camo so I wanted to show it to you.  I showed it on Monday’s post in a flat lay (and it sold out at Nordstrom), but it’s also available directly from Sanctuary (and they even carry it in plus size)!

And if you’ve been reading awhile, you know I’ve been full blown obsessed with this necklace for several years. It comes out to play every spring and summer! I love the wooden beads, and the neon tassel brings a bit of fun to lots of outfits!

For Size Reference:  I’m wearing a small in the dress, so I feel it’s true to size.  Again, I sized up to a medium in the jacket.  The shoreline converse are true to size.

And even though I think the striped dress will have more main stream appeal, I decided to keep the camo for myself.  I think it’s a super fun neutral.  🙂

When the camo dress sold out earlier this week, I ordered this camo skirt so all of you that were bummed about the camo dress selling out would have a camo option.  I’m not keeping the skirt myself, because SHORT…but if you are under 5’4″ you might really dig this skirt.  And let me say, I typically like my dresses and skirts short…but this was  realllllllllllly short.  Another camo option would be these camo pants (from Wit and Wisdom).

I sized up to a medium in the tee for a slouchy fit and a medium in the jacket to make sure it had layering room! I’m wearing a 27 in the skirt, so it’s true to size.

For those of you keeping count, you’re about to see the 4th outfit with the denim jacket today.

This is a standard outfit that I wear again and again.  And again.  😉 I might switch out the tee color, the accessories, and the shoes….but the white jean and denim jacket combo is a standard for me.  In fact, if you’ll notice in the picture below, I’m wearing brown sandals on the left (size up 1/2 a size) and my camo wedge sneakers on the right (size down 1/2 a size).

I sized up to a medium in the tee for a slouchy fit and a medium in the jacket to make sure it had layering room!  I’m wearing a 27 in the jeans (which is true to size for me), but I would suggest sizing down if you are between sizes.  Remember, these are the white jeans that are soft, stretchy and NOT SEE THRU!!!!

Okay, outfit #5 y’all.  Same tee, same jacket, same sandals…..I just switched out necklaces and white jeans for grey jeans.  And it really is a totally different look!

I put this outfit together yesterday afternoon when the blouse arrived.  The floral shell is awesome, and it comes in maternity too!  The background is a soft pink, not white like it looks on the website.  The little tie in the back is such a nice detail, and the fit is great (it’s so soft and just skims the body).  The colors are vibrant and gorgeous.  As you can see, it looks good with both white and blue denim…but it could also be easily dressed up with a pair of white slacks.

The small fits me well, so I think it’s true to size.

I talked about this dress on Monday’s post, and this makes outfit #7 with the jacket.  This time I paired it with a short sleeve maxi that’s so easy to throw on and is incredibly comfortable.  Same necklace, same sandals, same earrings, same tote…..totally new outfit with the dress!  I’m almost 5’4″, and the petite small was perfect for me.  In fact, I can wear it with both flat sandals (as seen here) and wedges.

So my Live FashionAble tote was in lots of outfit pictures above.  I really only carry it in Spring and Summer (not sure why), but I broke it out last week and keep reaching for it!

I showed y’all this top on Monday’s post and let you know I had made it mine.  I think it’s great with these ombre tassel earrings, but I also love it with these white bead drop earrings for a crisp and clean look.

I’m wearing a 6 in the shirt, but it’s a little loose on me (even though you can’t tell from the pic).  I actually bought it in the 4 also.  I’ll be wearing this to a conference at the end of the month, and it will be a game time decision which size I wear!

Getting to see Carter do his thing at Open House was one of my favorite moments of the week.  I love how proud he was of his work, and we were really impressed with it as well!  The computer presentation his small group did on air as a natural resource was amazing!  Here he is standing with his art that was on display.
