Let’s start with the fact that Nordstrom now carries Lou and Grey. SHUT THE FRONT DOOR. If you don’t know what Lou and Grey is, all you really need to know is this: They are irresistibly soft pieces designed to make you look and feel incredible. #signmeup (You might be familiar with Lou and Grey because it’s also carried online at LOFT, and there are stand alone stores too.)
Look at this DARLING striped swing dress. It’s a relaxed fit and doesn’t hug the body at all, but it still manages to be super flattering. It’s got a drawstring hood, 3/4 sleeves, and although I will totally wear it alone…I think it’s incredibly cute with a denim jacket thrown on top.
For size reference: I’m wearing a small in the dress, a medium in the jacket, and the sneakers are true to size.
The second I saw this romper online, I scooped it up. And y’all. It’s sooooooooooo good. It’s stupid soft, as comfy as pajamas, and I think it’s incredibly cute! Sometime today on stories I’ll upload some videos of it, so make sure you check over there.
And here’s the best part about it. YOU DON’T HAVE TO GET NAKED TO GO TO THE BATHROOM!!!!
Let me explain.
You know how with most rompers you have to complete disrobe to go potty? Well, this one has a cut out in the back which allows you to just pull down the pants when you need to.
From behind, it just looks like it’s 2 pieces. IT’S GENIUS, Y’ALL! Click over to see the pic on the website to understand what I’m talking about. As you can see, the back of the top actually hangs down and covers your behind, so it doesn’t show any skin!
You can certainly wear this romper without a jacket layered on top, but I think I’ll probably always wear a jacket when I’m wearing it out and about. But at home? At home I’ll lounge around in it LIKE A BOSS. #tobeclear #likeabossinpajamas
For size reference: I’m wearing a small in the romper, a medium in the jacket, and the sneakers are true to size.
And it’s of course PERFECT FOR TRAVEL! Typically a romper wouldn’t be idea for travel (because of the bathroom situation), but that’s not a problem with this baby! To further illustrate it’s road trip / airport style, I’ve paired it here with my Savannah tote from Barrington (the PERFECT travel bag). Use the code STMT10 for 10% OFF your entire Barrington order.
I’ve purchased AND LOVED several Lou and Grey pieces over the years, and I’m particularly partial to items from their SignatureSoft line. If you haven’t tried any of the pieces, you really need to. Getting dressed will make you happy. Here are some of their current Signaturesoft pieces. Just click on what you are interested in!
Other Lou and Grey pieces follow…
Y’all know I’ve been wearing the heck out of another black and white striped sweater, so I didn’t come home with this one, but I definitely thought it was worth sharing! I’m wearing a small.
This might very well be the most comfy dress I’ve ever had on my body. I’m wearing an x-small, so I would suggest sizing down. Cute worn alone with the swingy (and not clingy) fit, but it will of course be super cute with a denim or a military jacket thrown over it! And it has pockets!
I love it when LOFT does casual cardigans. Below I’m showing how to wear this striped one with both shorts and some Lou and Grey joggers. AND Y’ALL. THE JOGGERS? They are AWESOME. Super soft and lightweight. I’m wearing a small in the tee, the cardi, and the joggers. I’m wearing a 27 in the shorts, which is true to size for me.
GREAT NEWS, ladies! Anthropologie is 20% OFF and has FREE SHIPPING, but it’s TODAY ONLY! This doesn’t happen often, so take advantage. (You have to be signed up for AnthroPerks, but if you’re not, it’s totally easy to sign up! It’s free to do so, and then the discount will just show up in your cart!)
I popped in to my local Anthro earlier this week, and I was smitten with this camo moto jacket. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium to have plenty of room for sweaters underneath (even though the small fit). Most moto jackets I’ve tried in the past are stiff, but this one is made of a sturdy knit and is really stretchy! (And I want so say “HI!” to Carrie, a darling reader who I got to meet at the store. She was buying this camo jacket and it’s really great too!)
Now, please disregard the bag. I picked it up because I thought it was cute, I liked the color, and thought it was a great size. Well, when I went to grab the link after photographing the outfit, I read 2 reviews that both said the quality was poor and it started ripping apart at the seams. So, back it will go.
This top also caught my eye. It’s called “pink”, but I’m telling you, it’s not pink. I would describe it as a rusty red. I thought it would be gorgeous for any of you taking some early fall family pictures! I’m wearing a small in the top, and I’m of course wearing the best strapless bra in the history of the world.
This ruffle trim tee is one of my new favorites. It’s got a great relaxed fit and a longer sleeve with a relaxed ruffle on the bottom. This tee is perfect for those of you that don’t like to show your upper arms! It will give you great coverage.
And this was a perfect outfit for pulling out my leopard slides (THE PERFECT TRANSITIONAL SHOE)!
AND Y’ALL. THESE FEATHER EARRINGS!!!!!! They are definitely a splurge, but I’ve only had them for a couple of weeks and I’ve already worn them SEVERAL times. They are stunners and total outfit makers! I put some instastories up of them last night, so head over there so you can see them up close.
And here’s the same basic outfit, but with shorts and a different bag.
Ever since I showed my leopard mules (seen in the outfit above and 3rd from the left in the flat lay below) a couple of weeks ago, I’ve been getting lots of questions about transitional shoes. Y’all totally agree that a great transitional shoe is realllllllllly hard to find!
Open toe booties are good, and flats are always a great bet! I pulled these 4 flats/slides when I was at the mall yesterday. I absolutely love all of them. All are true to size, all are comfy, and all are perfect now through fall!
If you follow me on facebook, then you already saw earlier this week that OUR FAVORITE HUE LEGGINGS ARE BACK…..ON SALE…and FULLY STOCKED! They have an ultra wide waistband which is freaking awesome. They hold their shape, they don’t sag, they don’t pill, the waistband doesn’t roll down, they aren’t see thru, and they don’t fade.
They are long, so that’s great news for you taller ladies. For you shorter ladies like me, you’ll just have to cuff them and only wear them with tall boots…or you could of course have them altered.

And last, but certainly not least…

My favorite skincare, Colleen Rothschild, is having a pretty great sale on a handful of her products, including the Discovery Kit (a $150 value, it’s ONLY $69 right now!!!). It contains many of their most popular products and would be a great way to give them all a try! I’ve had many readers say that after giving the Discovery Kit a shot, they are now loyal users.
The kit includes the following:
- Radiant Cleansing Balm
- Dual Enzyme Polish
- Clarifying Detox Mask
- Sheer Renewal Cream
- Extreme Recovery Cream
- Face Oil N°9
- Muslin Cleansing Cloth
- And an exclusive CR Travel Bag
With the exception of the face oil (it’s a bit to oily for my skin, but my mom absolutely swears by it and says her skin “drinks it up”), I absolutely love everything in the kit. Use the code STMTSAVE10 for 10% off you Barington order!
Hope y’all have a great weekend! I’ll have some other favorites (including some family pics) next Wednesday for What’s Up Wednesday!
