It’s Friday, so y’all know what that means! It’s time to link up with Erika, Andrea, and Narci to let everybody know what some of my favorite things are right now!
FAVORITE #1: Smallwood Home
Right off the bat, let’s talk about the giveaway today! I’m teaming up with Smallwood Home to give away one of these precious Be Still and Know signs! They sent one to me last week, and I’m so happy with it! I immediately knew I wanted it in our guest bedroom, and I think it looks great in this little corner of the room. And not only is it cute, it’s a great reminder!
They also sent me their Saffron duvet and shams! AND Y’ALL. I ADORE THEM. I keep on walking into the room to just admire the bed. LIKE A CRAZY PERSON. Like I’ll just walk in there and stand and stare. 😉 Look how bright and cheery the color and the pattern are! The mattlese (that is folded at the end of the bed), used to function as the bedspread. But I love the infusion of color and pattern that this new duvet brings to the room! Right now I don’t have the down comforter in it, but think of how plush and cushy it will look when I add that. The quality of the duvet and shams is amazing, and the attention to detail is so nice. The bed skirt and the additional shams and pillows were there before, and all items are from HomeGoods!
My decorating style is simple: Buy What You Love, and You Will Find a Spot For It. 😉
The secretary on the left side of the bed is something I bought in our first year or two of marriage. I saw it and fell in love. I left the store without it, it haunted me, and I went back the next day. It first found a spot in our formal living room, but now it lives here! The blue chest on the other side of the bed was from an antique store in downtown McKinney. I bought it when I was pregnant with Carter and threw a changing pad on it and used it in his nursery as his changing table. It’s one of my favorite things in the house. I saw it. I loved it. I bought it. And I will always find a space for it!
saffron duvet / saffron shams (The shams are kind of hard to see in this picture, but they are back there! I just need to get bigger pillow forms for them.)
Here’s a better shot of the shams, peeking out from behind the floral shams! The black tole trays (above the bed) I’ve had for years, but they just recently found there way up to this bedroom! I love them here. I think every room needs some black in it to anchor it, and these are the perfect vintage and romantic look for this room. I’ve collected probably a dozen or so tole trays over the years, and I have them all over the house. They are the one thing I collect. Some I’ve paid a lot for, others I’ve scored for amazing deals! I have a couple in pristine condition, but many of them have some wear and tear, but that just gives them character! I used to only buy them at antique stores, but then I started scouring etsy for them!!!! I’m pretty particular about the ones I like, but I’ve found some great ones…you just have to be patient! I also have a white, a green, an aqua, and a red one scattered around the house as well!
Oh, look! There’s the red one on the secretary! 😉 The floral prints in the red frames over the secretary were also purchased in downtown McKinney. I found them in a corner of a really full booth, and they were only $ 5 each. Gosh, I love a good deal…and I think they are just as sweet as can be. I’m not done styling the secretary yet (I used to leave it closed up), I’m just waiting to find things I love! And y’all, I’M GOING TO ROUND TOP next weekend!!!!!!!!! I just know I’m going to come home with so many treasures!
Here’s another view of the Be Still and Know sign. You also get a little peak into the bathroom. Do you see the shower curtain? Well, it’s not a shower curtain….they are window treatments from Anthropologie! I bought them when we were in our old house, and they used to be on the window in the guest bedroom. In the new house, we got shutters, and I didn’t really want to cover them up. They were just in a closet until YESTERDAY! My friend and neighbor (Keely) came over, and she convinced me I needed to use them as a shower curtain (she’s done this in several of her bathrooms)! What a fun tip! I still have a shower curtain liner behind the panels, so they function the exact same as a shower curtain. Thanks for the amazing tip, Keely! I’m so excited to have them out of the closet!
More fun little details all around. And yeah, I’m missing the pull on the top right drawer. I have no idea when or how it happened?!?
Hope you enjoyed the little tour of one of my favorite spots in the house! Remember to enter the giveaway for the sign at the bottom of today’s post on the rafflecopter!

FAVORITE #2: MADELEY IS HOME!!!!!
I’ll have more pics for you next week on What’s Up Wednesday…but Madeley is home! Lots of friends met the Shulls at the airport on Wednesday night to welcome this sweet girl home. It was so good to see all of them, and as always, I’m just blown away by the big kids, which now includes Ashby (because I’m telling you, she’s all of a sudden SO BIG)! These kids are AMAZING! Madeley is absolutely precious, and I can hardly wait to get to know her!

FAVORITE #3: GIVE GRACE Campaign
Are you ladies familiar with the company Scarlet and Gold? The company was founded and created by Megan Smalley three years ago with the idea that life is too short not to adorn your walls with pretty things. Megan’s heart was to create a company that would use the gifts and talents of people for the Kingdom, that challenges the structure of corporate America and is a place that family always comes first.
Megan is a young woman (only 29 years old!) that has surrounded herself with Christian women that love each other inside and outside of work. A little over two years ago, Megan and her husband Blake had a failed IVF attempt that was pretty devastating. After paying $14,000 out of pocket for the first try, it wasn’t even an option to try again. Insert Koral Dean. Koral is the Art Director at Scarlet & Gold and wanted to help. God really spoke to her and told her to use her gifts as a way to raise money for Blake and Megan to try again. That is how the Give Grace campaign started.
So the team at Scarlet & Gold designed the entire collection of products on their own time and paid for the production of everything so that all of the money could go to help the Smalley’s try IVF one more time. Isn’t that amazing!!! This platform has been a way for Megan to speak openly about the struggles of infertility and also to encourage others to be more open about the trials they face. With our social media crazy society, it’s so easy to portray the perfect life on Instagram. But the Give Grace campaign is all about tearing down those walls, being transparent about our struggles and loving others well through the peaks and valleys of life. Once the money is raised for the Smalleys, Scarlet and Gold will continue raising money to help other families.
100% of the proceeds from this GIVE GRACE line will go to fund Megan and Blake’s IVF attempt in October and anything above and beyond that amount will be given to other families hoping to start a family through IVF or adoption. I know that many of you have been touched by infertility, and I know that a supportive community when going through trying times such as this is so very important.
If you would like to join the movement and support this sweet couple, click HERE to check out the GIVE GRACE product line! They were sweet enough to send me this GIVE GRACE necklace. It’s simple, and pretty, and perfect. And I of course love the message. The line also includes temporary tattoos, wall art, and t-shirts!

FAVORITE #4: CAMO PANTS (THAT ARE CURRENTLY AVAILABLE)!
I wore the necklace again, with…..wait for it…. THESE camo pants!!!! I get so many requests for camo pants (I have a pair from GAP several years ago that still make it to outfit posts every so often), and everybody loves them, but they are sold out. Most other camo pants are from designer jean brands, they are over $150, and nobody wants to pay that much for camo pants.
So, even though I don’t need another pair of camo pants, I ordered them to try them out for you guys. Well, these are $54, so they don’t break the bank, and I like them A LOT! They’ve got some stretch in them, they are a great fit, and the hardware on them makes them unique. I’m wearing a 5, so they are true to size. They are a couple of inches too long on me, so I just tucked them under for this picture. If I were going to keep them, I would have to get them hemmed, but that’s good news for you taller girls! The tee is on sale, and I’m wearing a medium, so I sized up. It’s slouchy, but that’s how I wanted it!
camo skinny cargo pants / burnout tee ON SALE / earrings / similar booties / GIVE GRACE necklace

FAVORITE #5: The Starfish Project
Have y’all heard of The Starfish Project? It’s a jewelry company, but not just any jewelry company. They are dedicated to restoring hope to women that are escaping human trafficking and exploitation. Click HERE to learn more about them, what they do, and why they do it.
Here are just 3 pics I pulled off of their website highlighting some of their unique pieces. So pretty!
By the way, they are called The Starfish Project because of the Starfish Parable.
One day, an old man was walking along a beach that was littered with thousands of starfish that had been washed ashore by the high tide. As he waked he came upon a young boy who was eagerly throwing the starfish back into the ocean, one by one.
Puzzled, the man looked at the boy and asked what he was doing. Without looking up from his task, the boy simply replied, “I’m saving these starfish, Sir.”
The old man chuckled aloud, “Son, there are thousands of starfish and only one of you. What difference can you make?”
The boy picked up a starfish, gently tossed it into the water and turning to the man, said, “I made a difference to that one!”
I absolutely love that! Click HERE to shop! You can also click HERE if you are interested in hosting a party!

FAVORITE #6: Headbands of Hope
Headbands of Hope is another amazing organization!
“It all started with a spark. During the summer of 2011, the founder (Jess Ekstrom) did an internship at a wish-granting organization. Jess found that girls loved to wear headbands after losing their hair to chemotherapy. Therefore, during her junior year of college, she founded Headbands of Hope. For every headband purchased, one is given to a child with cancer. They’ve started a boys line of buffs so we they can help all kids at the hospitals. In June 2015, they celebrated donating to every children’s hospital in the United States.
They want to spread hope in all kids…one headband at a time. LOVE.
For every headband purchased, one is given to a child with cancer!!!!

Obsessed with that ‘Be still’ sign, & it doesn’t get much better than to shop for a good cause. All of these are great causes, & the products look pretty amazing! Thanks for sharing!
Jane says
Hey Sheaffer! I’m loving the camo pants on you and have an old pair from The Gap I need to replace. Can you tell me more about the sizing? You say you are wearing a size 5, but on the website the sizing is 24, 25, 26, etc. I think you and I are pretty much the same size, so I should be able to wear whatever size you are wearing. BTW, you should keep the camo pants, they are soooo cute on you:)
Sheaffer says
Oops! 27! Thanks, Jane! Xoxo
Meredith Lowery says
I have almost that same exact side table in the very first picture beside your red toile chair! Mine are 3 nesting tables, but the top one looks JUST like this! My grandmother gave it to me and told me it was from France!

“Buy what you love, and you will find a place for it?” I love your statement from Insta. It’s speaks so true to me, I bought a brick that said Delta the other day. I live in the Mississippi Delta and for some reason thought I really needed that brick, I loved it. When I got home I sat it on the counter until a spot jumped out at me. I fill my home with things that make us happy and that day it was a brick!
Andrea says
I’ve been looking for some great nude flats; are the ones featured here comfortable? I have high hopes of finding some that don’t require breaking-in time! =)
