It’s Friday, so y’all know what that means! It’s time to link up with Erika, Andrea, and Narci to let everybody know what some of my favorite things are right now!
I thought we would kick off Friday Favorites today with a picture of 3 of my boys. 😉 After church on Sunday we did a lot of laying around, watching football, and snuggling of course.

I’ve had several people reach out to see how my GET HEALTHY journey is going. I’m happy to report it’s going well! I’ve worked out 9/13 days, and I’ve been very dedicated to my healthy eating. I’ve lowered fat, calories, and carbs! I’m not following any particular diet, just making really smart choices. Chris is eating healthy with me, which makes it sooooo much easier!
For dinners we are eating a lot of grilled chicken and fish with lots of fresh veggies.
For breakfast I’ve been rotating between a low fat Greek yogurt and a Spark with some Nut Thins. Not exactly a breakfast of champions, but I’m not a big breakfast person, so it’s really just about getting something healthy in me to jump start the day’s metabolism.
I’ve been keeping lunch pretty simple. I absolutely LOVED this kitchen sink quinoa that I made. I started with a bag of quinoa and then added the following: fresh tomatoes, roasted red peppers, corn, black beans, black olives, purple onion, and cilantro. I seasoned with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Each day when I scooped out a bowl for myself, I would sprinkle some red wine vinegar on it, and then I would also put a little low fat Italian dressing on it. A couple of days I also cut up 1/2 a small avocado and put that on top. YUM!
Having things ready and easy to grab is key for me!
On the days I didn’t eat the quinoa, I still ate very low carb. That’s a bowl of butternut squash noodles with a little pasta sauce with a side salad with tomatoes, avocados, cucumbers, and low fat blue cheese dressing.
I haven’t weighed, but I am definitely noticing a difference in how my pants fit! I’m guessing I’ve already lost 3-4 pounds.

LOFT is having a 50% OFF EVERYTHING sale! When everything was 40% OFF a couple of weeks ago, I picked up my favorite Signaturesoft hoodie that I’ve purchased one of for the last 2 years. This year makes 3. I have black and blush. And now I have this olive green. It’s crazy soft, wonderfully drapey (act like it’s a word), and looks great on.
I have the small.
And girls. Pay attention to the sneakers! I’m working with Vince Camuto on Monday to bring you some of my new Camuto faves, and these sneaks are on the list! I’ve been seeing lots of fancy sneakers out there lately, but none of them have spoken to me. Until these. They said, “Buy me now, woman. Wear me, and you’ll feel cool.” 🙂
They are extremely comfortable, true to size…and as soon as it warms up a bit around here (which it should be doing this weekend), I’ll be sporting them around town. I think they are a super fun alternative to a Converse…although I will never stop wearing those either. (FYI: I do think these are quite a bit more comfy than my Converse, so if that’s a reason you’ve never purchased Converse for yourself, you might want to give these a try!)

I knew some of you would want to see the above top on, so here you go! #iaimtoplease

And while we are talking about the LOFT SALE, you need to check out these bracelets. I saw them earlier this week, but they weren’t on sale, so I left them in the store. When I found out the whole store was 50% OFF, I grabbed both colors! They wrap around three times, close easily with a magnetic closure, and are very comfortable on because they are super light weight!

On Monday I did a Style it Again, Sheaffer post.
I styled this shirt in 2 different outfits, but both times I knotted it at the waist for a fun look. Well, a half tuck with a leopard belt is definitely more “me”. And now the shirt is ON SALE for 40% OFF!!! For size reference, I sized up to an 8 in this shirt.

Clearly I’ve been having a moment with grey sweaters this year, as you’ll see evidenced by the next 3 pics! 🙂
This amazing poncho pullover is the newest in my collection, and it’s NOW ON SALE! It’s very over sized and slouchy (but not sloppy at all), and I really like it that way. I’m wearing the x-small/small. At 5’4″, I might even be able to get away with wearing it with leggings. If you are under 5’4″, I think you will totally be able to. It’s longer in the back than it is in the front, so it will totally cover your hiney. 😉 I wore it to dinner on Tuesday night with girlfriends (with my over the knee black boots that are now on sale) and I received several compliments!
I’ll talk a lot more about this bag on Monday, but if you are looking for a black bag, get it excited because this one might be it! Spoiler Alert: it’s freaking awesome.

My beloved side tie top is NOW ON SALE! The top is a wonderfully light fleece material that is oh so cozy without being too heavy. It looks great on it’s own, but it’s also PERFECT FOR LAYERING since it isn’t bulky. Oh, and perhaps most importantly….FLATTERING AS ALL GET OUT.
For size reference, I’m wearing a small and have plenty of room. The site suggests sizing down, but I went with my regular small. I’m also wearing my regular size 27 in the jeans.

You’ve seen this sweater on me at least 5 times already, but it’s been restocked and is STILL ON SALE for only $25.74! For size reference, I’m wearing a small.

Happy Friday Sheaffer!! Awesome picture of your boys … too sweet. The Kitchen Sink Quinoa looks yummy – do you have a recipe? Thanks!!!
Sheaffer says
Hi, Sandra! No formal recipe. Above the picture I listed the ingredients I used. I just added per my taste! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
Karen says

Monica says
Tell me about your bagged quinoa!!! That looks delish with what you’ve added! Also LOVE all your snuggle bug outfits! Perfect for winter!
Sheaffer says
Hi, Monica! The brand is tru Roots and it’s called whole grain sprouted quinoa. xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
Gail W. says
Love the puppy love – precious! 🙂
I need your expert advice on jeans. I got the Vigoss ‘Jagger’ jeans in the mail last night and it was L-O-V-E; so soft and the perfect amount of distressing. However, they bunched up behind my knees while walking around the house and it made me nuts! I’m a shorty (5’3″) so not sure if that was the problem. How do the AoS ‘Sarah’ jeans run – are they a similar fit/style? Thank you!!
Sheaffer says
Hi, Gail! I think the Sarah jeans are longer. I think you will have the most luck with the Articles of Society Carly cropped jeans! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
Chris T says
Lots of great fashion ideas! thanks Sheaffer!
Pam says
LOVED the Loft hoodie (especially in olive) but, unfortunately, they are out of my size L. Is there a way to find out if they will be available again? Love following you … have been inspired by many of your ideas!
Sheaffer says
Hi, Pam! I have no way of knowing. So sorry! Just keep checking though, if they don’t do a restock, there are sure to be returns in your needed size that pop up here and there! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
cassie {hi sugarplum} says
Hello, I need those sneakers!!! So stinking cute! And the quinoa….so yummy looking!
Sarah says
Hi Sheaffer. Random question, how many lunches did you get out of the quinoa salad?
And, I remember you saying you renovated your closet, are you still going to show us a picture or two or did I miss that? LOVE LOVE peeking inside peoples homes, especially their closets 🙂
Sheaffer says
Hi, Sarah! Well, I put A TON of veggies in my quinoa. I would say the veggie ratio was even higher than the Quinoa ratio…..so I probably had 8 meals. I ate most for lunch, some for dinner, and I would even snack on it too if I was starving. Hope this helps! I would say you could definitely get 5 out of it, so you would be set for the week! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
