It’s Friday, so y’all know what that means! It’s time to link up with Erika, Andrea, and Narci to let everybody know what some of my favorite things are right now!
I post this every year around Christmas because it’s one of my favorite and most treasured pictures.
Earlier this week we received the incredibly sad news that this sweet Santa passed away, and our community is heartbroken. He was the one and only Santa to so many children in our area. He was such a sweet man, and he touched so many lives. Seeing him every year was something we looked forward to, and he was definitely wrapped up in some of our favorite memories.
At ages 2,3, and 4 we went to different Santas with friends or at special events…but once we returned to this Santa, we knew we had found OUR Santa. Rest In Peace, Santa. You brought joy to so many.

Let’s catch up on what’s been going on with Carter lately…
His school holds a pep rally each month, and awards are given out to students. The Friday before Thanksgiving, Carter won The Principal’s Award!!!! We were so proud of him!
If you follow me on instagram, then you know that he broke his arm the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
IT. WAS. TERRIBLE. He was sitting on a trampoline (yep, SITTING), and he leaned back on the mesh surround, which gave way. He fell off backwards, and his right arm broke his fall. He was obviously in a tremendous amount of pain, and we were out in the country! Chris drove us to the nearest ER, and I almost threw up while sitting in the back with Carter. I was looking at his arm (it did not look good), and I was listening to him cry out in pain (while his head was in my lap). Mama is NOT OKAY with seeing her baby in pain. So yeah, I had to talk myself out of throwing up. Once we got to the ER, I just about passed out during the x-ray process. They were making Chris hold his arm in certain positions, and again, I didn’t like seeing Carter in pain.
The doctor politely suggested that I might want to step out for the “procedure” because they were going to give him a shot in his arm (A HUGE SHOT) and then basically yank it back into place. I couldn’t take it, so I went out to the waiting room. #mamafail
Luckily, Chris was a rock star and held his hand and talked to him the whole time. As soon as they had it back in place, the pain relief was just about immediate!
We headed to an orthopedist the following Monday, and he got his 1st cast. We go back on Tuesday to monitor the healing and see what the next step is. He’s been a trooper through it all.
And don’t you worry, he’s got plenty of extra snuggles from the pups.

GREAT NEWS! The ladies at Accessory Concierge agreed to extend their deal through the weekend!
Let me remind you what the deal is: With the code STMTglitter, you can get the following for ONLY $13: a pair of earrings (you choose the color!)….the DARLING card with the graphic…and the box (TOTALLY READY FOR GIFTING for teachers, friends, co-workers, office staff, etc.). I also had several comments from readers saying they made perfect gifts for teenage friends! The code is now good until Sunday at midnight. Click HERE if you want to read the original post completely dedicated to these little gift sets!
I received several questions about the size of the earrings and how they compare to the BP studs from last year and the Kate Spade studs that are currently available, so we realized that some of you needed more information before you could be confident in your decision to place an order.
From Left to Right: BP studs from last year (no longer available), Accessory Concierge studs, Kate Spade mini studs
As you can see, the A.C. studs are quite a bit smaller than the BP studs, and very similar in size to the Kate Spade studs.
And I had a couple of people e-mail me directly asking me for pictures of the earrings in my ears. These aren’t great pictures by any stretch of the imagination, but they hopefully give you a bit of an idea of the scale.
And here’s another great shot of some of the colors available. Click HERE for the earrings and don’t forget to use the code STMTglitter!
And do y’all remember this tie front sweatshirt? NOW IT’S ON SALE!

After my post last month with Sole Society, they were kind enough to ask if I would like to be a Brand Ambassador for the next several months! I happily signed up!
If you remember, last month I showed you the Allegra boots (really great for those of you with really thin calves that always have trouble with boots gaping). You should click HERE for the previous post highlighting the boots if you are a skinny calved girl in need of boots!
Here’s an outfit I wore yesterday with a different pair of Sole Society boots with a wedge heel. The wedge heel makes them extremely comfortable, and they look great (and are true to size)!

And this month, I requested for them to send me these loafer mules! Mules are a trend that we’ve all been seeing everywhere for months now, but I’ve been very reluctant to jump on board. When I saw these, I thought they would be a great way to ease into the trend (because they weren’t over the top mule-ish). They were just kind of mule-esque if you will. 🙂 They are true to size, ,comfy, and now I think I’m a mule person! #donttell 😉
The cardigan is very thick and nice and warm. It’s a beautiful mint color (and comes in blush as well), and I think lots of you would love having this in your closet, especially if you are tall. I felt the cardigan overwhelmed my 5’4″ frame a bit, but I still liked it!

A huge thank you to Sole Society for sponsoring this portion of the post!

If you follow me on instagram, then you might have seen that we went to the OU/TCU game last weekend! I initially thought it was going to be quite a bit colder on game day, so I ordered this Zella sweatshirt because I thought it was the perfect Crimson color to support our team! It ended up being pretty dang warm, so I went with sneakers (instead of UGGs) and a lighter weight sweater (instead of this VERY warm sweatshirt). Still, I loved the sweatshirt and I knew there were lots of you that would want to see it. It has fabulous reviews, comes in 3 additional colors, and I sized up to a medium (I almost always size up in Zella tops).
There’s a great rounded band at the bottom, it has a hood and pockets, and it has those cute little thumb holes!

This foil bell sleeve sweater was something I ordered when I was working on my post with Vince Camuto several weeks ago. I didn’t end up keeping it for myself (or even showing it on the blog!) because at the time it was $99 and I felt it wasn’t worth that. WELL! Now it’s 40% OFF! It has a swing fit, bell sleeves, and a subtle sheen.

I’m heading to the mall today, because I ordered THIS and am doing store pick up. If I had shipped it to myself, it said it wouldn’t arrive until Wednesday (even though I tried to do next day shipping). But since I want it for Monday’s post, I’m doing store pick up today! If it’s even half as good as I think it’s going to be, I’M GOING TO MARRY IT. #merrychristmastome

For all of you Articles of Society fans out there, these jeans are ON SALE for $34.97! They look to be well stocked in all sizes, but I’m guessing these babies are going to go fast!
And the classic J Crew Tippi sweater is 40% OFF. It comes in 4 colors, but this red is my favorite!
LOFT is 40% OFF, and this cinched sleeve swing dress is right up my alley. #iloveaswingdress Click HERE to shop the entire sale!

See the sweater 2nd from the right in my header? The body of the sweater is navy, and the cuffs are a bright pink and grey stripe. It’s so cute! And now it’s back in stock AND ON SALE! Click HERE for the sweater! For size reference, I have a small.

Around Christmas last year, a sweet reader e-mailed me to let me know about THIS devotional book that her husband had written for men. Here’s what the author has to say about the book: It is aimed at men who don’t know how to have a daily devotional. Many men don’t journal, spend 30 minutes with the Lord, etc. and we are trying to meet them where they are and drip one value/thought a day into their life. My hook is primarily sports stories, headlines, etc, but my heart is to instill vision into their lives to live to a higher standard, calling and purpose. It literally will take men one minute a day.
I love the idea of men starting their day with a quick little read! And I love that it “meets men when they are”. I know several of you bought the books for your hubbies for Christmas last year (it’s a perfect size and price for a Stocking Stuffer at $12.99!), and I got a lot of great feedback about it! Click HERE if you are interested in buying the book for one (or several!) of the men in your life. You can click HERE to read some personal testimonials about the book from some famous athletes who are men of faith!
Also, Mr. Patterson (the author of the book) reached out to let me know that he will donate $1 from every book sold to my friend Meagan’s adoption fund (he did the same when I spoke about the book around Father’s Day)! Thank you, Mr. Patterson!

I haven’t had a Dad update in awhile, and I’ve got some great news: HE’S HOME!!!!! He was released to go home the Sunday after Thanksgiving, and being home has been so good for his soul!
His birthday was a week before Thanksgiving, and since he was still in rehab at the time, we took the party to him! We are so incredibly thankful for and proud of the progress he has made. LOVE YOU SO MUCH, DAD!
Have a wonderful weekend with your people!

I’m so glad your dad is doing better!
It’s so hard to see your kids get hurt. I totally understand how you felt!
Abby Fitzgerald says
That was our Santa too. 🙁 Such a sweet man. Also, I ordered and already received my earring gift sets from Accessory Concierge! I am SOOOOOO PLEASED with the whole set. The earrings are gorgeous and the card is so much fun! And the cute little box is the perfect size. I cannot wait to give these to all of my co-workers!
Shay Shull says
I am still flipping out over those earrings for Christmas. I mean…they are just SO CUTE!!
Terry Pitzer says
Sheaffer, is the color of your Zella hoodie the red Tibetan heather? It looks like a rich crimson color in your picture, which I love. But on the Nordstrom site it doesn’t look the same.
Sheaffer says
Yes! That’s what I have! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
Terry says
Thank you!
Hena Tayeb says
Oh that is so sad to hear about Santa.
Look at your little man being such a good sport.
Those glittery earrings are so cute!

I just can’t with that first picture of Carter and Santa! So sweet!
Kate says
This has not been an easy few months for your family! Glad to hear your dad is home and that Carter is on the mend, what a trooper!
On a lighter note, curious if you’d post some outfit remixes with that red J Crew button boatneck sweater? I have it and typically wear it with dark wash jeans, but would love to see how you style it 🙂
Sheaffer says
Hi, Kate! Thanks for the sweet words about all the family stuff! I’ve worn the J Crew sweater with dark rinse, light rinse, and grey jeans! I probably won’t post them because since the sweater is sold out….and when I post things that are sold out, people go crazy if they can’t get their hands on it! Ha! xoxo, Sheaffer 😉
Kate says
Aaah that makes a lot of sense 🙂 Thanks!
Kathy Lang says
So glad to hear your dad is back home! That is the best news! 🙂
The AC earrings are very cute! I ordered a couple as gifts and I think they will be a big hit, but now I’m wondering about myself??
I’ve never had a broken bone and my kids didn’t either, so I can’t imagine having to watch what you described!
Sabrina says
So glad you’re a mule fan now!!! I bought one pair to just “try them out” and I now have THREE pairs!! I am a teacher and I LOVE them for work. They are so much more comfortable to me than regular flats for some reason. I think because my foot can move around and the little heel on them is game changer for some reason. I have some Dolce Vita ones that look very similar to the Sole Society ones and I wear them constantly!
Patty says
I had to laugh about your feelings in the ER when Carter broke his arm. When my son was young, he broke his arm three times, but the third was definitely the worst. He broke it playing hockey and let’s just say it didn’t look normal. We went to the ER and I was right by his side. When the doc said they were going to give him a block to numb the pain, I thought “no big deal”. Huh. Like you said that shot was huge! I made it through, then the doc said they were going to do a bit of “persuasion” on his arm. Hello! Please just say “we’re going to set the bone by yanking on it”. Soooo, I stayed and when the pulling started, I passed out! Before I collapsed I heard “mom going down!” and someone grabbed me before I hit the deck. It was pretty sweet when my boy came into my ER bay where I was recovering on a gurney and said “how you doin’ mom?” 🙂
Sheaffer says
PATTY! I COULDN’T HANDLE IT! When the dr. told me I might want to leave, I didn’t even tell Carter “bye”. I just got the heck out of dodge! Now, if Chris wouldn’t have been there, I’m hoping I would have been better….but who knows! So sweet of your boy to check on you! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
Corbie Baugh says
Oh my gosh this made me laugh so hard!
Corbie Baugh says
Oh my gosh Sheaffer- poor Carter, poor mommy! My son had his first broken bone this last spring, his wrist. It was so hard. I am with you girl- to see our babies in pain…well it near killed me too. Glad to hear he is on the road to recovery! PS- for the shower we got those long disposable vet medical plastic gloves that they use for cattle (yep). He would cover his entire cast/arm and then stuff the extra down into the end of his arm cast. They worked awesome!!
Lea Culp says
My goodness, there was all kinds of goodness in this post and then there’s the broken arm. Ugh, I’d been right there with you, about to be sick. It’s still hard for me and my kids are way past grown and have kids of their own. Once a Mother, always a Mother! Cute outfits and I’m so happy to hear about your Dad. Hoping he continues to do well. Happy Lord’s Day tomorrow!
Melinda says
My daughter broke BOTH her arms at the end of October when her horse threw her! She just got her casts off last Thursday. She didn’t even cry through any of it (her nurse asked her if she was always this stoic and lindy said “what does that mean?”) Anyway, I second the AI gloves for baths. We ordered ours through Valley Vet.
Sheaffer says
Oh my goodness! POOR THING! Poor Mama!!!!
