Before the open house, Cassie and I met a group of girls from Parkway Hills Baptist Church at Fireside Pies for a quick dinner. Lauren (in the stripes) coordinated it all, and I’m so happy she did!
They were so sweet and it was great fun getting to know all of them!
Here’s part of the group at dinner (you’ll get to see the others in pics at the open house).
You’ll never know how much I appreciate all of you that took time out of your busy holiday season to come out and hang with us! It meant so much! There’s always that fear that I’m going to show up and it’s just going to be me standing there all alone and just piling on
lots of jewelry to pass the time! 🙂
FAVORITE #2: This Santa Pic
If you follow me on instagram, then you might have already seen it.
This is 2 month old baby Carter, and it’s one of my favorite pics of all times!
I MEAN.
In fact, if you wanted to blow it up and put it on canvas, I would totally understand.
😉
FAVORITE #3: Our Christmas Mantle
Those reindeer make me smile just about every single time I look at them, and I just love how the entire mantle came together.
FAVORITE #4: My Girls
I have many girls in my life that I consider really great friends, and I am so thankful for all of them! My friend Lisa (back row on the right) invited me to a bible study 7 years ago, and as they say, the rest is history! 🙂
This group has been such a blessing in my life ever since.
This pic was taken by Jeni and her Go Go Gadget arms at Shay’s last week

This year we all brought breakfast foods and wore our pajamas.
We decided that we are definitely going to be wearing pajamas every year.
We all came in pretty normal pajamas….except this girl!
K is for sure the most fun of the bunch!
And then this week, this happened.
Andrea had a little fun with photoshop.
You see, K was missing from our pics we did with Manda last year because she was super sick at the time, and we always hated that she wasn’t in the pics.
Well, now she’s in them. 🙂
Manda started some treatments again this week, and Andrea thought Manda might need the laugh! We Love You Manda and we are all praying!
I mean, HYSTERICAL.
FAVORITE #5: BEING COZY
You know I love being cozy. When at home, you will usually find me in my blardigan and blants.
So, with this outfit, I get to feel like I’m in pajamas all day long.
AND Y’ALL. THESE UGGs are THE BOMB.
similar sweatshirt tunics HERE / MUST HAVE leggings (true to size)/ slim profile boots c/o UGG® and also available at Nordstrom HERE / Kate Spade glitter studs
My sweatshirt tunic is from a couple of years ago, but THIS one is Lou and Grey at LOFT and 40% OFF right now!
Also, a lot of tall readers have told me that they have good luck with the tunics at Old Navy!
And at LOFT right now, all outerwear is 50% OFF…and they have some darling outerwear. My favorite is this puffer jacket (I love the navy)!
FAVORITE #6: My Zella Leggings
Everybody already knows that these tiny blurred line leggings from Zella are my absolute favorite. The little lines make the leggings very flattering!
Click HERE for my exact pair ON SALE (but almost sold out).
Click HERE for this new pair that is almost exactly like mine!
FAVORITE #7: My Insulated Puffer Vest
During the Anniversary Sale this year, I bought an insulated puffer vest from Bench. And OH MY WORD I wear it like crazy. I’m constantly wearing it with my work out gear, but I also like throwing it on with jeans and a long sleeved tee. For a little bit nicer of a look, it also looks great with a plaid shirt and boots.
My exact vest is out of stock, but there are great options ON SALE from Bench
found HERE and HERE.
Love your blog! I had a story I wanted to share that involves the blardigan. In August, my husband and I found out during our 20-week ultrasound that our baby had several congenital heart defects. Coralie Cecelia was born last Thursday, December 10 and had her first open heart surgery today. It was a success and we are currently waiting to see her! We are so excited!
Luckily, I bought the blardigan at the Nordstrom semi-annual sale in July! I have lived in the blardigan at the NICU and was actually wearing it for our first family picture this morning. It was the first time we were able to hold her since birth. I’m attaching the picture. I will definitely be living in the blardigan as Coralie recovers in the PICU and may try to convince someone to get me the baby blardigan to wear when my original is in the laundry. 🙂 Thanks for the suggestion! – Sarah
I was of course so happy to hear that this sweet girl’s surgery went well.
Keep fighting Coralie!
FAVORITE #9: GREAT DEALS
I mean, who in the world doesn’t love a great deal?!?
Many of you rave about this tunic (and say you wear it with leggings), so when I saw that the tunic AND the must have leggings were both on sale, I had to make an outfit with them!
Also on sale, my favorite blingy hoops and the gorgeous Melissa button Frye boots!
If there’s a heart by the item, it’s an item I already own (AND ALREADY LOVE)!
tunic ON SALE / blingy hoops ON SALE/ bar pendant /
crossover ring / must have leggings ON SALE/ fossil tortoise shell watch / frye boots ON SALE
This is just one of the comments that was left by a reader last night about the tunic when I
posted the collage on facebook:
I own this shirt in 2 colors (5’8 in a medium). In summer I wear it with capri leggings/flip flops and fall leggings/flats…and winter leggings/boots! Buy it, you won’t regret it. Wash and dry, no shrinking or wrinkles…and covers the crotchal! It probably should be a must have….ha! Anything that is 100% poly just throw it in the wash. It’s the best fabric and travels well without wrinkling.– Jennifer T.
If you order at Nordstrom right now, you are still guaranteed delivery by Christmas Eve (and the shipping is still free)!!
Click HERE to see all items being Price Matched right now, many of which would make great gifts!
Some items included in the sale: North Face, Ray Bans, MAC make-up, Rebecca Minkoff bags, lots of pretty jewelry. Lots of classic UGGs are on sale as well! Click HERE for men’s clothes if you still need to buy for your hubby, your dad, your son, your brother, your mailman (I don’t judge), etc….
Seriously, go check it out for yourself!!!
Oooh! Some Fossil bags, wallets and belts (for men too!), and watches are on super sale!
And these aren’t for gift giving, but remember my two favorites bras are on sale HERE and HERE.
FAVORITE #10: JEN!
Jen is battling cancer right now, and she’s doing it with such grace and faith. It’s incredible to see, even from afar. I now it sounds cliche, but she is such an inspiration to all who know her.
I loved Jen from the moment I met her (her love for Jesus pretty much radiates through her!), and I’ve been praying for her like crazy. We’ve only met once, but we’ve messaged back and forth occasionally, and I keep updated on her through her friends Jamie and Jen.
Well, Melanie linked to a podcast that Jen had recently done with a friend HERE over on the blog God Centered Mom.
It’s an hour long, but I promise you that listening to it will bless you.
It will rip your heart wide open, and you will look at the simplest of things in a totally different way.
I highly encourage you to find the time to listen…even if just to part of it!
Jen talks about lots of things, but I loved hearing what she had to say about how
to best help friends that are going through trials themselves.
For example, instead of saying “What can I do to help?, say “I’m running errands today and headed to Target, what do you need?”
She also recommended to “Serve in the way you are wired.”
If you are a good cook, take meals. If you have great handwriting, offer to address Christmas cards. If you love children, offer to help out with the kids. She even suggests super practical ideas like telling your friend to leave her laundry on the front porch and that you can pick it up, do it for her, and then deliver clean laundry back to the house. Now come on, that’s genius.
Here’s Jen with her precious son.
She writes BEAUTIFULLY about her battle, her family, her friends, and her trust in the Lord.
I know she appreciates any and all prayers!
See you girls back here on Monday!
Have a wonderful holiday weekend with your friends and family!
xoxo,
Sheaffer 🙂

Just wanted to throw an amazing find at loft in here. This tassel necklace is amazing. It dresses up everything I wear! It comes in silver and gold and I bought both. The silver is only available online but maybe they have both colors in a store near you.

Sheaffer I'm sure you must have mentioned this in an earlier post but what size are you wearing in those jeans? They fit you so well!! Do they "grow" throughout the day?
Sheaffer says
Hi Lisa! They are a medium. They stretch a little bit, but not enough to warrant sizing down! Hope this helps! xoxo, Sheaffer 🙂
