It’s Friday, so y’all know what that means! It’s time to link up with Erika and Andrea to let everybody know what some of my favorite things are right now.

DARLING SET

Y’all know I love a good set. Usually the sets I grab are more casual, but this one is FANTASTIC. I of course love the set worn together, but you’ll see that I also like wearing the pieces separately too. So much bang for your buck! The color is gorgeous, and I love that it’s different than anything else I have in my closet.

The embroidered bubble top is a 100% crip cotton poplin, fully lined so the cut-out embroidery doesn’t show any skin, and it’s got a fun bubble hem. I prefer to wear my bubble hem pulled down, but you could of course pull it up again if you want to show your midriff. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

The embroidered midi skirt is also a crisp cotton poplin. It has an elastic waist, pockets, and is partially lined. And look at the scalloped hem! I got a small in the skirt.

And let’s talk about my new turquoise chunky heart necklace because OMG. I bought it last week at full price, and now it’s ON SALE! You will see it throughout the post today. It’s such a good piece.

I was wearing it with flat sandals above, but here I’m showing it dressed up a bit with clear wedges and a couple of nice bags.

Small clutch on the left and my new LV (that I ended up purchasing from Vivrelle) on the right. I mean, I signed up with Vivrelle to borrow bags, and I ended up buying the first one that I borrowed. What can I say, I FELL IN LOVE WITH IT. More on this in a post next week. 😉

How cute is the top with denim shorts. And imagine how cute it would be with white boot cut jeans and wedges!

THESE DENIM SHORTS ARE SO GOOD. They have a 6″ inseam, so they provide a good amount of length, but I don’t feel matronly in them at all! I just feel covered, but cute. Basically, I still feel like a cool and hip mom, while managing to stay totally age appropriate. They are slim cut (which makes them flattering), but I love the roominess of the leg opening. I’m wearing my regular size 4. Also, they’re pretty affordable at $79!!!

And the skirt worn with a white tee and denim jacket just makes sense.

I feel like all of us are always on the hunt for the perfect white tee. This everyday tee fits great, has a nice thickness (but it isn’t too thick), it’s not see-thru, and it’s a good length. There’s a Madewell tee I really like too, but this SPANX one does seem to be superior. It’s 100% cotton, has a bit of give to it, and it doesn’t lose its shape. It’s pricey, but I think it’s worth it. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

NHS INDUCTION

Carter and some of his buddies got inducted into National Honors Society earlier this week. It’s a pretty involved process at his high school (initial invitation, then essays, teacher recs, holistic committee review, etc.) so we are of course so proud he was accepted. I mean, anything else we can put on a college resume WE. ARE. IN. #ifyouknowyouknow

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Carter had a really awesome soccer season. He made such great strides, and it was so much fun watching him grow and play with the team. He started off the year on offense, but he quickly moved to defense and totally found his groove!

We ended the season with the soccer banquet last week, and he was awarded Defensive Player of the Year!

Let’s talk about his outfit. I find shopping for Carter pretty challenging, so I was super proud when several people commented on his fit and how much they liked it. 🙂

The “blazer” was from his suit that he wore to Homecoming and Winter Formal, and I don’t have a link to it. The checked shirt underneath is just a checked Polo. His exact one is sold out, but you can find a similar one HERE ON SALE.

The belt, the jeans, and the shoes are all new and were all SUPER AFFORDABLE… and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND all of them.

SOCIAL THREADS FINDS

I’ve teamed up with Social Threads again to highlight some of their new collection!

This floral dress surprised me. When I ordered it, I clearly didn’t read the description because in my mind it was a crisp cotton. Imagine my surprise when I pulled it out of the box and realized it was denim. To be honest, I was super disappointed at first, BUT THEN I PUT IT ON. And even though it’s quite a bit different than I thought, I put it on and loved it! I’m wearing a medium here, but although you can’t really tell here in the picture, I definitely need a small. Also, it is definitely on the shorter side, so keep that in mind when ordering.

This striped ruffle sweater is what Americana dreams are made of. The navy and white stripes and the little flutter sleeves are absolutely adorable. I love the red necklace with it. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

These Risen jeans are everything we know and love about the Risen brand. They are stretchy, flattering, and oh so comfy. This pair in particular has 256 reviews, and almost every single one of them is 5 STARS (a 4.71 average!). They are a fantastic pair of straight leg jeans with no distressing. Dress them up with wedges, dress them down with sneakers or flip flops, and find yourself wearing them on repeat. I’m telling you, this will become a GO TO pair of jeans for you. Because of the stretch, you can definitely size down in these jeans if between sizes. I’m wearing my regular size 27.

I thought it was super cute with the drawstring pants I showed you a couple of weeks ago too.

These are the J. Crew famous linen pants. I’m wearing the “flax” and think they are a perfect neutral, but them come in 9 color options. I’m wearing the petite medium, but they are a little roomier than I’d like them to be. I actually think I’m going to exchange them for a regular small (I’m 5’4″ with long legs and no torso). I would like them to be a little slimmer and a little longer

The fact is that Social Threads always has something on the site I want. Right now I want my favorite layered sweatshirt in a new color.

I wear the “light moss” one alllllllllll the time. Seriously all the time. I wear it with jeans, with joggers, and with denim shorts. It just makes sense I get this light pink one too now that they have it as a color option. Right? I know I will not regret this purchase.

The sweatshirt is super soft and comfy, and the little crewneck that is peeking out from the neck and the hem really elevate this sweatshirt and will instantly help you look pulled together. I’m in a medium, and it’s a perfectly relaxed fit and roomy fit. A small would definitely fit, but I like the oversized look of the medium. If you don’t want it quite so oversized, size down. It has 48 reviews, and almost every single one of them is 5 STARS.

I couldn’t resist these springy jeans last month, but they sold out pretty dang fast and lots of y’all were bummed. Good news is that they’re back in stock in several sizes. They are a subtle barrel fit, and I love them. In fact, these are the only pair of barrel jeans I’ve ever tried that I actually like and don’t feel ridiculous in. 😉 The “poppy” color is so fun, and these jeans are going to be such a nice addition to my closet. They are stretchy, true to size (I’m wearing a 27), and totally on trend.

You might not have known that you needed a pair of poppy colored jeans in your closet, but that’s what I’m here for. #becauseyoudoinfactneedthem 🙂

J CREW

If you remember last week, I highlighted some J. Crew swimwear on the blog in outfit collages. And if you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen me do an unboxing of my order!

Well right now some of their swimsuits and vacation ready looks are ON SALE!

And since swimsuit season is basically here, I definitely wanted to highlight this sale! After all, like I told y’all last week how my favorite swimsuit EVER came from J. Crew. So last week was in collages, but today I’m going to show the suits on me. Well, I’m kinda going to show them on me. Apparently, I’m not brave enough to go full on swimsuit on the ol’ internet. 😉

Here’s a similar look with the exact same cover up and swimsuit that are featured above, but with other items I already had.

And I’m happy to say that the swimsuit, coverup, and bucket hat are NOW ON SALE!

This crochet cover up is absolutely fabulous. It’s so soft, very stretchy, and super comfy. And I love the scallop details on the neck, sleeves, and hem. I’m wearing the black scrunchie suit under it, so the entire outfit is totally chic. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

I will say, although I love the look of the straw tote, I don’t really love how it functions. It is big and can definitely hold a lot, but there’s not enough structure to really transport it easily if it’s full.

And here’s the suit with denim shorts just thrown on top.

This strapless suit is made out of an incredible textured scrunchie material. It’s perfectly stretchy and very forgiving, but it feels super high end. In fact, it reminds me of the Hunza G suits that are much more expensive. I went for the classic black, but it also comes in brown, white, a vibrant blue, and a fiery red. You can wear it strapless, you can use 1 strap halter style, or you can use both straps (one over each shoulder).

I should also mention, this is like Day 2 of my new self-tanner after two showers. It’s not aggressive at all, but it’s MUCH BETTER than my natural skin. I just look like I’ve had a healthy dose of sun.

So here’s the same outfit idea, I just switched the suit from the scrunchie 1 piece to this floral bandeau.

I’m in love with this suit. The purple floral print is so feminine and pretty, and the ruching is so forgiving and flattering. It’s also an incredibly comfy suit.

And here’s the cover up again. I’m wearing the floral bandeau under it this time, so I styled it with a more colorful (and more practical if we’re being honest) beach bag. This tote is waterproof, easy to clean, and has tons of functional internal and external compartments. And it’s ONLY $25!

And although not a swimsuit, I wanted to show y’all these navy floral shorts again because they are now on super sale. This time I styled them more casually with a lightweight beach sweater. I’m actually showing this sweater in 3 different colors next week, so you could say I’m a fan. The sweater is super lightweight, so it’s good all the way thru summer. And it’s 50% OFF right now! The sizing does seem a bit inconsistent on them. I have a medium in all 3 colors, but this white one seems a bit bigger than the others. I would say to consider sizing down if between sizes.

JANE NECKLACE ON SALE

Ladies! THE NECKLACE OF THE SUMMER IS ON SALE!

I bought mine from Nordstrom before it sold out, and there was only 1 size available, so I’m not sure if mine is the 20″ or the 22″, but I don’t think you could go wrong with either one.

But it’s the Jane necklace that has taken the world by storm! It comes in sooo many different colors, but mine is the “rainbow”. All of the colors are great, but I’m also really loving the “brown multi” and think it would be awesome when styled with neutral outfits.

And are you dying over the necklace? Because I am. It’s similar to the Evereve one I’ve been screaming and shouting about, but this one is bigger, chunkier, and brighter! I really like both of them, but this one is definitely bolder.

This cap sleeve sweater is great too. It’s a perfectly relaxed fit and so easy to throw on with denim. I’m wearing the red stripe, but I’m also really loving the sky blue and pale yellow option. For size reference, I’m wearing a small. Definitely size down if between sizes.

The shorts aren’t tight at all, and they have a perfectly relaxed fit. The 4 1’2″ inseam makes them a great length on my frame. For size reference, I did size up to a 28 and I’m glad I did. I think I would even like the slouchy fit that a 29 would give me.
