TIMEHOP GEMS

Timehop  pop ups are ALWAYS a favorite. They really got me this past week with a picture of this little pumpkin.

A way more recent picture popped up later in the week and hit me right in my feels as well. This was the end of football season last year. We had such a wonderful time watching Carter play with his friends and sitting with the families in the stands. Sweet memories for sure.

FALL OUTFIT INSPIRATION

Ladies, I have ordered TONS of different sweaters and tops to get ready for cooler weather, and I’m so excited to share lots of options with y’all today. I’ve got a handful of dresses too.

Let’s get started!

Stripes pretty much always have my heart. And when you put them on a cardigan, I’m pretty much smitten. I’m wearing the tan/navy stripe, but it comes in 3 other stripe options and 4 solid options. It’s cozy, soft, and a little bit chunky. I’m wearing it here all buttoned up, but it would also be great worn over a basic tee. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

Although I would love to pretty much always be in a sweatshirt or a cozy sweater during the fall and winter months, sometimes I need something a bit nicer. This floral peplum blouse is adorable. The v-neck, the covered buttons, and the peplum hem with a little tie are all great little details. This blouse would also pair well with boot cut jeans or nice trousers (like the pleated black pants later in the post). For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

I’m straight up obsessed with this sweater dress. It fits my frame perfectly. It’s not body conscious, but it’s not boxy either. Just a perfect relaxed fit that skims the body, but doesn’t hug it. I’m wearing the chestnut, but it also comes in ivory and heather grey. The chestnut is a rich brown that I think could be styled in several different ways. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

It would look great with a neutral or black bag, but I love the pop of color here with this great red bag. The bag is under $20, and I love it.

I love a cream sweater. There’s just something so classic about it. This one also has some modern vibes with the split neck collar and the shorter fit. It’s chunky, a relaxed fit, and darling. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

Okay, let’s talk about what are truly some perfect closet staples.

This relaxed v-neck from Madewell is new to me, and it’s so much better than the Madewell whisper thin tees that I’ve been wearing for years. This one is more substantial (not nearly as thin) and has a more relaxed fit. I’m wearing a medium.

And I think there’s a place in everybody’s closet for a longer line cardigan like this open front cardigan. There are a lot of super casual ones out there, but this one leans a bit on the dressier side and would be perfect for the office. Still, it would still look great with jeans and sneakers too. I would suggest sizing down. I’m wearing a small.

This leopard contrast trim sweater is fabulous. It’s on the thicker side, it’s warm, and I love the chunky neck, cuffs, and hem. Cute with a 1/2 tuck, but also cute worn out to shop the contrasting hem. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

I know there are tons of people out there that prefer a v-neck sweater to a crewneck sweater, so here’s an option for you! This one comes in 5 colors and is right under $60. It’s a bit boxy, but I happen to like boxy. I can’t do a half-tuck with this sweater (and y’all know I love a half-tuck), but this one hits me at the perfect spot to be worn out. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

I would typically say that waffle knit is a super casual fabric, but this cardi is actually on the dressy side. I love it with jeans, but I’ll love it with black pants and heels too. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

This blousson sweater isn’t something I’d normally gravitate to because I typically prefer a more relaxed fit, but I actually love the shape and fit of this sweater. It’s got some give to it, and it has a very wide him that makes it fitted around the waist. Still, I love it. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

I’ve got another blouse for you. A ruffled split neck, balloon sleeves, and a flowy fit are what this floral blouse is all about. Love it with jeans, but it will also look great dressed up. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

Last Wednesday I had a blog post where I announced my newest MUST HAVE pick! THIS SWEATER!

It comes in 34 colors, I own 4 colors, and to be honest…. I wouldn’t mind having a couple more (like the “paradox” which is a vibrant hot pink).

It is super soft, it’s not itchy at all, it’s lightweight, and it has what I think is a perfect relaxed fit. It doesn’t hug your body at all, and it just drapes really nicely. It’s a little bit longer in the back than in the front, and it does have a loose band on the bottom, so you can wear it out or with a half-tuck and it looks great both ways (but y’all know I almost always go for the half-tuck).

It has a ribbed neckline, ribbed cuffs, a ribbed hem, and a little ribbed detail down the middle of the sweater. The ribbed detailing just gives it some nice interest and elevates it a bit. I would definitely suggest sizing down in this sweater. I’m almost always a medium in sweaters, and I’m wearing a small in this sweater. Even in the small, I still consider it quite roomy.

And if you’re looking for office appropriate attire, the must have sweater (in any color!) with the Wit and Wisdom black pleated pants  is truly a PERFECT combination. You will look great AND it will basically feel like you are wearing lounge wear. Notice I’m wearing different shoes in all 3 pictures below (Mary Jane’s on left, black pumps in middle, booties on right).

More stripes, because why not. This striped crewneck is super similar to the must have sweater. It’s so good. The length is a bit longer, but the fit is still relaxed, and it’s still lightweight and super soft. I’m wearing a medium here, but when not tucked in I do think the medium is a little bigger than I’d like. A small would be a better fit.

And here’s the same blouse I showed you several pictures up with the cuffed jeans. Throw it on with black pants, and you will immediately be office ready.

Why yes, yes this is the must have sweater again. 😉 Thought it would be a great match for some cords.

These stretch cords are awesome, but I also ordered these ankle flare cords (that arrived yesterday), and I decided to keep the ankle flare version. If you prefer full length as opposed to ankle length, you will like these better. They are stretchy, comfy, and an awesome alternative to jeans. They come in black, a darker brown, moss, navy, red, and wine. The red ones just dropped and would be super festive for the holidays. True to size for me (I’m wearing a 4), but size down between sizes because of the stretch.

How adorable is this tie waist dress?!? It’s got a great split neck, tie waist, and 3-tiered flouncy skirt. It’s feminine in its styling, super flattering, and the black floral pattern is great for fall. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

Maybe you have a fancy event coming up for Christmas or maybe even New Years? This little sequin number is totally flashy and a whole lot of fun. It’s got a shift silhouette with a short hemline (which I love), and y’all know I also love the little bit of extra length on the short sleeve. The sequins are pink, burgundy, black, and gold. And the diamond pattern is striking. The price tag of $110 is so affordable for a dress like this! For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

Maybe you have an event you need a dress for, but you don’t need it to be sequin level fancy. This chiffon dress could be a great option. This is the “black animal print”. The body is lined, but the sleeves are somewhat sheer. You can see the split neck is low, but it’s not too low… just low enough to be a little sassy. The smocked waist is so comfy and super flattering. I would actually prefer it to be a little bit shorter on me, but that’s great news for you taller gals! It comes in other patterns too, and some of them are on sale, so head to the link to check them all out. Other reviewers stated that they think it runs big. I didn’t find that to be the case though, so I’m wearing my regular size medium.

More on the casual side is this flowy floral dress.

I love the tie-belted waist and the pleated details in the skirt. It’s so flowy and pretty with a classic v-neckline and balloon sleeves. This dress is effortless and would look great on most people. It’s super forgiving because you just slip it on and then customize the fit with the belt. Pair with knee-high boots and your favorite gold jewelry to complete the look! For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

Maybe you have a casual holiday party, but you still want to be festive! This green plaid top is special because of the ruffled neck, the gathered and puffy sleeves, and the festive colors and pattern. It also comes in a red. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
