It’s Friday, so y’all know what that means! It’s time to link up with Erika and Andrea to let everybody know what some of my favorite things are right now.

MY FIRST POST
So you know how at the bottom of all of my posts there are thumbnails of previous posts? Well, this thumbnail appeared on my Wednesday post. It was super familiar to me, I clicked on it, AND IT WAS MY VERY FIRST POST!
A little over 13 years ago, on 08/14/2012, my first blog post went live. At that time, the blog was called Pinterest Told Me To, and I simply recreated outfits I’d seen on Pinterest. Each post had 1 picture, and not all of them even had links.
Goodness I’m just so grateful that I went out on a limb and started this thing that eventually evolved into what it is today.
Thank y’all so much for being so supportive and coming along for the ride!

SHOPPING WITH SHEAFFER
I’ve been doing TONS of shopping lately. There’s just so much great NEW fall stuff out, and I’ve been a total sucker for so much of it. Here’s just a handful of my recently ordered items. Lots more to come next week!
If you’re an Aggie, I feel like this double ruffle shift dress is an IMMEDIATE yes. It’s perfect for Game Day. It’s lightweight, has double ruffle sleeves, great detail up top, and a swingy fit. What’s not to love. It also comes in black! It says true to size, so I got a medium. However, I do feel like the medium was a bit oversized, so I think I would prefer a small.

Y’all. I’m in love with this leopard cardigan. Sadly, it looks like it’s almost sold out, which makes me so sad, because I feel like I could go on and on about my love. Instead, I’ll just say… if your size is available, add to cart and press purchase before it’s gone. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
These Aliyah jeans are fabulous, and although they aren’t on sale, they are only $68. They are stretchy, comfy, flattering as all get out, and what I consider to be a perfect straight leg option. And since they are clean without any distressing, they are appropriate for jeans days at work! I know that wide leg jeans and barrel jeans are all the rage right now, but I have to say, I still find a nice straight leg jean to be the most figure flattering by far. These are a mid to high rise with a slightly frayed hem. I like the length with these booties, but I might actually cut a bit of length off so they will show a little ankle on me when wearing sneakers or flats. For size reference, I find them to be true to size. I’m wearing a 27.

I think we all need early fall pieces in our closets, and this mock neck sweater totally fits the bill. It’s a cotton blend, it’s soft, it’s got a drop-sleeve, and it’s a nice medium weight. I just have it turned under here, and it’s a little more fitted at the hem, so it stays folded under nicely. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium and it’s roomy, but it’s supposed to be.

Here’s another short sleeve sweater that is early fall perfection. The color is screaming fall. It’s called “tea rose”, but I think it’s like a fall coral. Like it’s not orange, it’s just a warm and toasty coral. I think it’s a beautiful color. It came in other colors, but most of them already sold out, and then they added this color. If you like a relaxed fit and a longer sleeve, HELLO. This sweater is for you. For size reference I’m wearing a medium, and I love the oversized fit. I also love the chunky ribbed collar, sleeve trim, and hem.
Also, if you don’t have the heart toggle necklace, what’s wrong? Are you okay? 😉 I mean, I’ve been loving it and showing it for months and months now. I wear it allll the time, I get compliments on it alllll the time, and when you get it you will think it looks MUCH more expensive than it actually is.

I rarely show things I don’t love simply because it takes a lot of time to take pics of an outfit, link an outfit, and write about the pieces… so it seems like a waste of time if I’m not recommending the piece. However, I do like to show misses every now and then to prove that I don’t love everything. Also, I wanted to show this jacket specifically because I think it’s a piece that lots of you could see online and want to try. I mean, the quilted jacket craze is so IN right now, but I hope I’m going to save you the time from ordering this particular one because it’s gonna be a no for me dawg. I loved the small brown floral pattern and the contrasting piping, but that’s where my love ended. The shoulders are what ruined it for me. They just fit me weirdly and were wildly unflattering. I even sized down to a small in this, and I still felt like a linebacker.
If anybody knows of a FLATTERING quilted jacket go ahead and leave your suggestion in the comments, but I fear the quilted jacket trend might not be for me. I never want to add any additional puff.

I’ve been getting the itch lately to order from some retailers that aren’t my typical GO TOs. So I’ve been browsing some sites, and the next two pieces popped out at me. I think this lace wrap blouse is so classic and totally gorgeous. I’m usually apprehensive to buy lace pieces because I find that they are often scratchy, but this one isn’t at all! It’s actually very soft! It’s got a nice deep neckline that appears a tad deep on me, but I have barely any room from my boobs to my neck, so it probably won’t be quite as deep on most of you. It also has a modesty snap. It’s super feminine and just really pretty. I love it with jeans, but it would of course be great with nicer pants or a pencil skirt too. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

Okay, first things first, I’m in love with this gorgeous plum color on this ruffle collar shirt. It’s another super feminine piece, and I love the embroidery, the ruffled collar, the neckline, and the sleeve length. I would say it runs large. I’m wearing a medium, but think I might prefer the fit of a small.
And listen, although I think it looks great with jeans, if I worked in an office, I would definitely be grabbing these pants that they are styled with on the site because OH MY GORGEOUS. You have to click on this link to see them styled with the pants and the same color belt and shoes for a stunning and totally sophisticated look, but then click on this link to grab the pants.

Okay, so I have mixed reviews on this smocked peplum top. I love the idea of it with the smocking, the peplum, and the puff sleeves… but I had trouble getting the puff on the sleeves to lay correctly on me. It’s a fun “go out” top, so you might want to give it a try. Hopefully you won’t have issues with the sleeves like I did. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

Okay, so I’m a little on the fence about this tie waist sweater dress. On one hand, I think it’s awesome. I love the color, I love the fit (not baggy, but not body-con either), and I love the simplicity. I am however worried that it might stretch out and/or pill. Does anybody already have this dress that can speak to how it wears? If you do, sound off in the comments! I want to love it! For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

I haven’t actually worn or washed this half zip pullover yet. I’ve only taken pics in it, and while I LOVE IT (oh my word it’s so soft and I love the half zip styling), I’m scared because a reviewer talks about how it pills easily. So heads up, this baby might pill. I think I might keep it and give it a shot because Nordstrom’s return policy is so generous that I’d probably still be able to return it even if it’s worn (because of the pilling). I’m thinking it’s worth the risk to me. I love the color too. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
And y’all know I love the tennis skirt because I’ve been professing my love for it since this summer. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

I love that the wine and plum colors are all the rage right now, and this crossover pointelle sweater is just so pretty. This is actually called “beet red”, and it also comes in black, evening blue, and pink smoke. It’s great with a pair of denim, it would be great with a pair of nicer work pants (think black, grey, or neutral), and I think it would also be super cute with a pair of cords. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
As you can see, you can wear the banded hem out (like I’m doing on the left) or you can tuck it under (like I’m doing on the right).

I believe I would actually categorize this peplum blouse as more of a spring and summer top because it’s extremely lightweight… but let’s be honest, if you live in Texas, it’s good for now too even though it’s October. I love the little covered buttons, the tie waist that can be cinched in, the v-neckline, the longer sleeve length, and the flirty little peplum hem. I love it all. You can’t really tell in my picture, but if you click over to the site you can see that the sleeves are sheer and have a little puff to them. They claim the top runs true to size, but I feel it runs small and actually grabbed a large (which is what I’m wearing below). I might could have done a medium, but I’m good with this fit.
peplum blouse / Pistola jeans / suede booties / skinny hoops / heart toggle necklace / bracelet set (teal + red)

It’s a t-shirt, but it’s so much more than a t-shirt. This scalloped peplum top is DARLING. It’s a thick and substantial and soft knit up top, but the peplum hem is more of a crisp poplin. And the scallops are obviously adorable. It’s definitely an elevated tee. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium. It also comes in tan, navy, lavender, and dusty pink.

COLLEEN ROTHSCHILD NEW PRODUCT LAUNCH
LADIES… THIS. IS. HUGE.
There’s a new moisturizer in town and y’all are going to FREAK THE FREAK OUT! Especially those of you that are about to start battling dry winter skin!
I’ve been using this for close to a couple of weeks now, and I can tell you that this Moisture Veil Silk Emulsion is wayyyyyyyy more than “just” a moisturizer,
It is nutrient rich (yay!) and will absolutely melt into your skin. It provides deep and lasting hydration that I think you will notice after the first use!
The result? Hydration that absorbs more effectively, lasts longer, and fortifies the skin barrier.
Its texture is smooth, silky, and instantly comforting… gliding on without heaviness, yet leaving a rich veil that keeps skin nourished and resilient. Formulated with ceramides, squalane, and hyaluronic acid, it works with your skin’s natural defenses to restore balance and deliver hydration where it’s needed most.
Use the code STMT20 for 20% OFF if you want to give it a try (or if you want to grab anything else that’s not already discounted).

It uses Reverse Emulsion Technology to get maximum results. I obviously didn’t know what that technology was, so there’s a little info about it on the graphic below.
I love the idea of “immediate impact” and “longer lasting results”. And I’m telling you, I truly felt the immediate impact and lasting results after just 1 use. I’ve only been using it for a couple of weeks, but my skin immediately loved it, and I saw immediate improvement in lasting hydration!

It targets dryness (of course) as well as dullness.
I apply it all over my face, neck, and chest. Never forget your neck and chest ladies! When putting it on, I immediately noticed that it felt different than a regular moisturizer. It actually truly felt like it was going to be longer lasting and therefore more effective.
I’ve been putting it on in the morning (under SPF and makeup), and I’ve been applying it in the evening as the final step in my nighttime routine. It really makes a difference. And here’s the real kicker… it’s not heavy or greasy! And one more thing, it has a wonderful smell (and I typically have an aversion to most skincare scents).
Remember to use STMT20 for your discount code! I’m telling you, if you feel like you battle dry skin (particularly in the winter months), you’re going to want to grab this for yourself!

A NEW FAVORITE SNACK
The last couple of months I’ve been walking like crazy and making very healthy and mindful choices with my food.
I found a new favorite afternoon snack that I’ve been loving. It’s low in fat and calories, and it’s packed with protein!
Grab a favorite Greek Yogurt (I love this Siggi’s with 15 grams of protein!) and I add dried cranberries and some Nature Valley protein granola. Delicious and super filling!

UNDER $40 FAVORITES
Y’all saw the next 5 outfits I’m about to show you on Monday’s post, but I’m showing you again today because I always hear that some of y’all prefer the mirror selfies.
This cardigan is thick, soft, and totally cozy. Oh, and let’s not forget CUTE. The quality is excellent, and I love the floral pattern. I’m loving it with jeans, but I did just see there’s a matching sweater dress (but only XS and S are remaining). For size reference, I’m wearing a medium in the cardi.
floral cardigan / white tee / jeans / earrings / necklace (Hope) / bracelet / booties

This is the first time y’all are seeing these jeans, and you need to listen up because y’all are going to die!
First of all, look how cute and flattering they are! I like the light wash, the thick waistband, and the slim fit straight leg. They’re really REALLY good. And what you can’t see is that the back of these jeans is elastic! You know those Aerie denim shorts we all know and love? These are the jeans version of those shorts!
Also…. they are ONLY $16.98. I mean, WHAT? CRAZY!
For size reference, I’m wearing a small. I first ordered a medium, but they were way to baggy. The smalls are a perfect fit.
floral cardigan / white tee / jeans / bracelet / booties

This boyfriend cardigan is lightweight and just the type of cardi I need for my closet for early fall. It comes in 11 colors, but I was immediately drawn to this rusty bronze. It’s perfect for a pumpkin patch. The deep wine color is really beautiful as well. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
boyfriend cardigan / white tee / jeans / leopard belt / faux suede bag / earrings / necklace (Hope) / bracelet / booties

This particular white button down is on the shorter side and boxy, but that’s what makes it more of a modern cut. Still, if you’re not a fan of boxy, you’re probably not going to love this shirt. I’m wearing a medium, but it’s very roomy, so I’m actually going to exchange for a small to see if I like it better. I don’t own a white shirt that I love right now, so I’m just going to give this one another try in a smaller size. I mean, the price is right at $24.
white button down / jeans / earrings / necklace (Hope) / bracelet / booties

I love the rich chocolate color, the collar, the subtle puff sleeves, and the banded hem. Oh, and you know I love the stripes too. It’s tailored and classic, but also feminine. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

BACK IN STOCK
Let’s talk about the fact that everybody’s favorite blazer is BACK IN STOCK and in NEW colors as well! If you’re a blazer girl, you’re going to want to grab this one. If you’re not, you still might want to give this one a chance. I think we’re all blazer girls, you might just not know it yet. 😉
It’s stretchy with a notch collar, a slim fit, and a pinstriped lining that makes the blazer extra cute when the cuffs are rolled up.
The link suggests to size down, but I wish I hadn’t. The small feels tight and pulls across the back a bit. A medium would definitely be a better fit on me.

I mean it’s so flipping cute!
blazer / white v-neck tee / black jeans / belt (pecan gold) /leopard Mary Janes

Looks great with regular denim too.
blazer / white v-neck tee / multicolor beaded necklace / coin toggle necklace / frayed hem ankle jeans (60% OFF) / belt (pecan gold) / leopard Mary Janes

Okay, y’all This button down cardigan is straight up fabulous. It comes in 5 colors, and I really love the olive green stripe too. It’s hard to see here because of my dark hair, but it does have a collar. The buttons are tortoise and are functional. This is definitely a sweater you can wear open like below, or you could button it up and wear it without a tee under it. It’s got a little bit of length on it and hits right at my hips. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.
button down cardigan / white tee / multicolor beaded necklace / coin toggle necklace / frayed hem ankle jeans / belt (pecan gold) / bracelet set / leopard Mary Janes

Here it is all buttoned up and ready for the office with the pleated black pants that were in Wednesday’s Top 12 post!
striped cardigan / earrings / coin toggle necklace / pleated black pants / black pumps

Y’all know I love the Ink + Alloy line, and last year I grabbed this set of bracelets that were in beautiful fall colors (teal + red). This color combo sold out last year, but it’s back!
bracelet set (teal + red) / leopard Mary Janes

There’s nothing really to say about these slippers except THEY’RE BACK and YOU NEED THEM. And so do your daughters. And your besties. And maybe your mom. Oh, and definitely your sister.

I love those tall tan boots and hope they come back in stock at Nordstrom soon in my size.

Awww,Kathy! You are one of my long-term followers and readers that I appreciate so much! I always love when I see your name pop up in my comments section. Thanks for being around all these years! xoxo

Everyone needs the pumpkin slippers…and that first blog post callback was so much fun! How cool that we still get to do this all these years later?!

I LOVE seeing that first post!! And I LOVE a peplum anyway, anyhow, anyday!

How can that BE?! I feel like I’ve been following you since before we moved from Houston to Columbia, SC. That was in 2009. I followed you, Shay, Melanie Shankle and Sophie Hudson. Your blogs were the first thing I checked after dropping the kids at Mothers morning Out!
Sheaffer says
Awww, Nikki! I love hearing this so much! Thanks for taking the time to share! (The other 3 had blogs before me, so you probably followed them a bit before you followed me!) xoxo

I believe I found your blog when you were recapping The Bachelor and I’ve enjoyed it ever since!
So a few months ago I shared with you how excited I was to get the best pair of jeans ever from your recommendation…now I’m so excited to tell you that last night my BFF and I were perusing our local WalMart and there it was, the set you have so highly recommended. It is AMAZING! The feel of that material! I can’t thank you enough for the recommendation, and so excited to wear that on my travels! Also, purchased the heart necklace from a link you shared and it quickly became one of my favorite pieces this fall. Thanks so much, Sheaffer!

I love hearing this, Bren! Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a comment. AND SERIOUSLY…the Walmart set is next level, right?????? xoxo
