Today’s post is one of my favorite posts each and every month. Today I’m going to share your Top 12 picks from September.

Not surprisingly, many of y’alls top picks are in my top picks for the month as well. Almost all of the items I’m featuring today are items that I added to my own closet, and because of that, they are items that you will continue to see on the blog (as long as they are in stock). And what’s extra great about this favorites list is that many of the items are under $100, the majority are under $80, and a couple of pieces are even under $20.

And I’m SUPER excited to report that 4 of the Top 12 items are NOW ON SALE!!!! And purely fyi, 3 of the items were on last month’s list too. That just means they’re realllllllllly good.

1) cardi jacket / NOW ON SALE! I love this cardi jacket, but my mom is going to realllllllllllllllly love it. This is an item that I think will fly off the shelf. It’s a viscose fabric with a lot of stretch and give. It looks more red in this picture than it does in real life where I think it definitely reads a little bit more orange. I would say it’s a red/orange. It also comes in a beautiful camel color that would be a great neutral basic for just about anybody to have in their closet. I love it here with jeans, but it’s definitely nice enough to wear with our favorite stretchy black dress pants (true to size, but size down if between sizes). For size reference, I’m wearing a medium. It is definitely oversized though, so you might want to consider sizing down 1.

2) wavy line sweater / This wavy stripe sweater is called a “top” on the site, but I definitely think of it as a lightweight sweater. In addition to the wavy striped pattern, there’s also scalloped edges on the collar, the sleeves, and the hem. The scalloped detailing definitely dresses up and elevates the sweater. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

3) tall boots (golden caramel) / NOW ON SALE! It’s no surprise that these boots made the Top 12 because you saw them alllllllllll month long.

This first dress is totally affordable at ONLY $79.50! The silhouette and the colors both scream fall, and I know I will get a lot of use out of this dress. And I’m loving the pretty floral pattern! It’s a tad bit longer on me than I would normally prefer (I’m 5’4″), but I still love it. It’s got pockets, a relaxed fit, and a double flounce skirt. Seriously so cute. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium. If you’re between sizes, you might be able to size down.

Oh, and if you’re not a floral gal, it also comes in a navy dress with a small polka dot.

Here’s a close up to help you see the double flouncy skirt.

These boots are new to me, but they must have been around last year because they already have fabulous reviews. I grabbed the beautiful “golden caramel” shown, but they come in several other suede colors and a black leather as well.

They are soft, flattering to the leg, and I’m going to love wearing them with fall dresses. For size reference, I sized up a 1/2 size and got the regular calf option. I will say that my calves are on the smaller side, and the regular width are good on me. Great news though, they have a wide calf option as well.

It’s a really beautiful boot and a really great price point.

So if you love this dress, prepare yourself…. because $$$.

It’s PRICEY, but oh my word do I love it. And listen, about once every season I tend to splurge on an item. Over the years I’ve found that the splurge ends up being worth it because I find myself reaching for the splurge piece over and over again. I’m thinking this dress might be my splurge item for fall.

It’s definitely special, and it definitely feels expensive. (Please ignore the white paper on the tassel, I took the pictures before realizing that I hadn’t taken the covers off of both tassels.)

The dark plum/wine color with the floral is gorgeous, and it’s definitely dramatic. The waist is elastic, the fit is relaxed and flowy, and this dress definitely has a romantic feel to it.

Now, if you’re tall, I’m not sure if this dress is going to work for you because this skirt is definitely on the short side. I also think it runs a bit small and if you’re between sizes you might want to consider sizing up. I’m wearing a medium, but I think a large might be more comfortable.

I’ve got another dress for you that is also on the pricier side. It’s from Cleobella, which is a brand that I love. I bought a Cleobella dress about 2 years ago, and I’ve worn it countless times.

This one is a crisp poplin and boasts a beautiful fall floral with warm colors. It has tiny little covered buttons, pockets, billowy sleeves, and a nice wide fabric belt that can be knotted or tied in a bow. It can also be worn without the belt for more of a relaxed shift fit. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

This tiered mini dress is just as cute as can be. It’s got a bit of a boho vibe, but it can also lean a little bit western as well. Y’all know I love the longer sleeve, the short hemline, and the elastic waist. I think it’s fun, flirty, and flattering. The drawstring is functional, so you can cinch it in as much or as little as you want. Oh! And it’s lined and has pockets. The color is a really pretty wine color, but it also comes in an ivory/black combo. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

I always love a poplin shirt dress, and this is a great one. It’s a crisp cotton poplin and feels and looks more expensive than it actually is. The drop waist is a great fit, and I love the flirty little skirt. The dress has a bit of structure to it, which I do like, and I think the cuffs look great rolled up casually to show a little bit of arm. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium, but I do feel like it’s a tad constricting across the chest.

Okay. I’m in love. This paisley ruffle cotton voile mini skirt is right up my alley. It’s lightweight, it’s obviously super comfortable due to the elastic/smock waist and pull-on styling, and this rich plum color is FAB for fall. And how cute is the wide bandana like hem!

Here I have it styled with just a regular white v-neck and denim jacket. It would look amazing with cowboy boots, and this is an outfit I would totally wear to a concert (although I’d also wear to just a regular ol’ dinner out)! For size reference, I’m wearing a medium. It is quite short, so if you’re tall, it might not work for you.

And just for a little bit different of a look, here I’ve paired it with a neutral striped short sleeved sweater.

4) quarter zip and joggers / I’ve been screaming and shouting about this set because Ohhhhhhhhhhh Myyyyyyyyy Worrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrd it is sooooooo good. You DEFINITELY need 1 color and dare I say you need 2 colors. And here’s the deal, I know I’m being bossy, but some situations call for that. And this is one of those situations.

This set is the “grey fog”. The fabric is YUMMY. It’s 51% Polyester/43% Modal/6% Spandex. I’m not going to pretend to know what that means, but I am going to tell you that it feels like angel wings and unicorn dust are woven together with magic and love. Basically the fabric makeup should just say 100% Awesome. It’s kind of like a silky scuba material and feels incredible.

It’s the PERFECT running around town outfit, the PERFECT lounging at home outfit, and the PERFECT travel outfit.

I feel super put together and cute in it, but I’m telling you the comfort level is unmatched.

So the pullover is a 1/2 zip with an exaggerated collar. It has a banded hem and a relaxed fit. It’s adorable. You can tuck the banded hem under, or you can wear it out for a more casual look.

I love it with the joggers, but it’s great styled with jeans as well. And the material? Again, I can’t say enough how much I love it. BECAUSE I LOVE IT SO SO MUCH. It has 553 ratings (the majority of which are 5 stars) and it’s UNDER $20. A super similar top goes for $79 at one of our favorite department stores. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium. (FYI: It’s size inclusive and ranges in size from XS to 4X.)

The joggers are obviously the same incredible material as the pullover, and the fit on them is so flattering. I was worried because of the pleats, but I’m telling you, they are somehow super slimming. They are also under $20. For size reference, I’m wearing a small in the joggers. So that’s a medium in the top, and a small in the bottoms. And like the pullover, the joggers are size inclusive ranging from XS-4X. The pants do run a bit big, so definitely size down if between sizes.

As you can see here, I have the banded hem turned under on the sweatshirt, which shows the pockets and the pleats on the pants.

But if you want to cover the pleats, just don’t fold it under! The sweatshirt has a nice and relaxed fit, and it looks great worn out too. (You can see what it looks like worn out when I’m wearing the black set in just a second.)

This bag is inspired by a viral $78 name brand bag, but this version is only $23. I wish the strap was a little bit longer so it could be worn more comfortably crossbody, but it’s still a great bag. It holds a ton and it’s totally on trend.

These sneakers are inspired by a much more expensive brand (all sneakers are around $120), and although they come in several color options, I was most drawn to this neutral option called “sand”. They are under $30, crazy comfy, and true to size.

I understand that my excitement for this set (and the bag and the sneakers) might seem a bit over the top, BUT IT’S NOT. You need to just trust me. My excitement level is appropriate. TRUST.

I would happily pay $120 for this set without batting an eye, but it’s under $40 for both pieces! So yeah, you need it.

And because of course I had to get it in two colors, here’s the “sandwashed black”. It also comes in “wheat heather” which is a kind of creamy white and “wild ginger” which is a pretty rose color.

Notice in this picture how I haven’t tucked the banded hem under, so you can see how wearing the pullover out covers the pleats.

These pieces launder beautifully. They don’t pill, they don’t wrinkle, and they come out of the dryer looking fantastic.

And y’all. THESE SNEAKERS! They have a retro vibe and are absolutely darling. True to size and comfy. Oh, and they’re under $25 which is crazy. They have a red version that looks like a pair of $120 sneaks. They’re fab.

Now I must confess to making a mistake. The sneakers below weren’t actually in the Top 12. I know they are in the collage, but I got confused on what sneakers made the Top 12… and you will see those in the next picture.

This neutral sweater is a perfect closet basic. I’m a huge fan of the neutral sneakers , and y’all know I love Mother jeans. They are pricey (even on sale), but I own 2 pairs and love them both so much (and think they’re totally worth it).

8) leopard Mary Jane’s / SALE ALERT! SALE ALERT! SALE ALERT! I fell in love with Rothy’s last year when I got my camo loafers in the fall, and I’m now a huge believer in the brand. I think these Mary Jane’s are precious AND GOOD HEAVENS they are comfy! They are soft and flexible, and you can throw them in the wash (and then let them air dry). In addition to this leopard, they also come in black, a wine, and even a neutral sparkle that is actually really great in person. True to size for me, but if you’re between sizes, size up. I’ve also had several readers comment that you should size up if you have wide feet.

9) short sleeve cardigan / I figured I was going to love this short sleeve cardigan, but I had no idea how much. I’m smitten. It’s kind of a heavy knit, but although it says it has wool in it, I never would have guessed that. It just feels like a chunky cotton to me. The sleeves come right above the elbow (which I love) and they have a banded hem which is flattering to the arm. The sleeves also have a subtle puff at the shoulders. You could of course wear this open over a tee, but I really like the style now of wearing a cardi all buttoned up without anything under it. This tan-ivory stripe is what works best for my closet, but it comes in a grey-heather stripe as well. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

Wanted to show you the cardi with my must have ecru jeans too. Y’all know I’m obsessed with these jeans. They are ON SALE and starting to sell out (some sizes are already gone), so if you’ve been thinking about grabbing them, NOW is the time. Stretchy, comfy, flattering, and a great color for year-round wear. For size reference, I’m wearing my regular size 4.

Seriously, if you don’t have them and they are still available in the size you need, grab them. You won’t regret it. Looks how different the cardi looks with regular jeans and with these! These jeans will really stretch your closet!

10) flat front wide leg pants / These flat front wide leg pants are a great option for those of you that are scared of the pleated pants (#12) that I’m also recommending. They have the powermesh panels that we’ve all become obsessed with, and they mold and hold while still being comfortable and allowing you to breathe. 😉 I’m telling you, the comfort will astound you. For size reference, I’m wearing my regular size 4.

This pointelle cardigan is pretty, feminine, and soft as can be. It can of course be worn over a tee, blouse, or cami… but I’m really loving cardigans worn on their own right now. In addition to pink, it also comes in an emerald green and an ivory. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

This stripe cable cardigan is lovely and sweet. The buttons are pretty little pearls, and even though the sweater boasts wide stripes and a chunky cable design, the sweater is still quite feminine. And I’m loving the blush and wine color combo, but it also comes in a navy and green combo. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

11) Pistola jeans / These are the “Rhythm Vintage” and they are currently ON SALE! They’ve got good stretch and are quite soft, so they are super comfy. I love the ankle length and frayed hem, and I think the overall fit is very flattering. For size reference, I’m wearing a 27.

I ordered this puff sleeve blouse last week at full price and fell in love. And it’s NOW ON SALE!

I love the color combo (pink, brown, and cream), the feminine graphic floral pattern, the split neck, the swingy fit, and the voluminous sleeves (that don’t add too much bulk). It’s lightweight and perfect for early fall. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

I first showed this sweater in an outfit planning collage a couple of weeks ago, and I couldn’t resist ordering it myself. It also comes in a neutral stripe and a wine stripe. The other colors are great too, but this olive green and color combo spoke to me. The neckline has a great layered look (see the blue peeking out?!?), and of course there’s a faux sweater that is casually tied over the shoulders. It’s giving preppy vibes, and I love it. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

In the future, I’ll wear it without a necklace. I think with the necklace it’s “too much”.

I’m pumped about this red blouse. It’s got a great split neck, the pleats around the bust are an adorable detail, and I’m loving the longer puff sleeve. HOWEVER, these pants are pleated, so I was not expecting to love them at all. Because of the pleats, I didn’t think they were going to work on my body (since my tummy is my problem area). WELL, I was wrong! They are crazy comfy and quite flattering! They are a substantial ponte like fabric, but they’re a medium weight and not too heavy at all. They are crazy super soft and stretchy, but they keep their shape throughout the day. They’ve got a double bar and hook closure with a hidden button and a functional zipper, but I’m telling you, you can just pull these on if you want to! Yes, they have that much give. Most size down in these, but I’m wearing my regular size 4.

This puff sleeve sweater is classic and beautiful. This one is also a wool/cashmere blend, but it’s super soft and not itchy. It’s thin, which makes this one great for layering too. As you can see, it’s cute and flattering worn out because of the ribbed hem, but it also works well with a half tuck. I love the versatility of a short sleeve sweater, so I’m happy to add this one to my closet. I love this neutral “tan”, but it comes in six total color options. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

13) sweater / I can tell you with great certainty that this raglan sleeve sweater is going to be on constant rotation for me this fall. I LOVE IT. It’s incredibly soft and cozy. It’s a wool/cashmere blend, but it is not itchy AT ALL, so don’t let the wool blend scare you because I don’t do itchy sweaters. I’m wearing this fabulous camel and pink stripe combo, but it also comes in a black and white stripe combo as well as in several solid colors. I like the ribbed collar and sleeves, the banded and ribbed hem, and the exposed seams on the shoulders are a nice touch. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

The price is high, but I personally believe this sweater is worth it. I also like that it’s thin enough that it can easily be worn under a close-fitting jacket. And it’s nice enough to be dress up for the office.

These are the “Rhythm Vintage” jeans and they are currently ON SALE! They’ve got good stretch and are quite soft, so they are super comfy. I love the ankle length and frayed hem, and I think the overall fit is very flattering. For size reference, I’m wearing a 27.
