CHARLIE UPDATE

If you don’t follow me on Instagram, then you haven’t seen the AMAZING UPDATE on Charlie.

If you weren’t around last week, Charlie gave us quite a scare. Click HERE if you want the whole background story, but the short version is that he wasn’t eating well, so we took him to the vet. The vet found a mass on Charlie’s spleen on Wednesday, and we were of course devastated thinking that what happened to Buddy was about to happen to our Charlie as well. Thursday morning we had an ultrasound at an animal hospital where they thought he was a good candidate for surgery, and he was having surgery by Thursday afternoon. During the surgery, they removed a 10 pound tumor!!! The vet/surgeon was hopeful that it might not be cancer because the “liver was pristine”, but the tumor was of course sent off to pathology.

I’m so excited to share that ALL tests have now come back, and there is absolutely NO EVIDENCE of CANCER.

YOU GUYS!!!!

Charlie is back to his old self, and we are of course over the moon and just so incredibly thankful.

His appetite and his energy are both AMAZING!

He got his sutures removed yesterday (he did great!), he will get an ultrasound in a month, and then he will continue to get ultrasounds every 3 months for a year.

We are so incredibly grateful for your prayers, for Dr. Porterpan, and for God being with us through this last week.

SOME NEW FINDS

I have a handful of new finds for you today, and most of them are from Nordstrom.

FYI: Norstrom has a special going on right now (ends Sunday) where you get additional Nordstrom notes depending on how much you spend. FUN!

I know you’ve seen these drawstring shorts on me a lot over the last several weeks, but it’s because they are one of my new favorite finds. They are a lightweight linen with pull on styling, so they are super comfortable. The perfect rise, the perfect elastic waist with a functional drawstring, and the perfect length. The link says they are a 4″ inseam, but they definitely seem longer on. They’re classy and casual, but they can easily be dressed up or down. These are the “flax”, but they also come in white, a blue stripe, and a pink stripe. I think the flax is perfection. I’m afraid that the white might be too sheer, but they are worth a try if you’re specifically looking for a pair of white shorts. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium for a relaxed fit.

This puff sleeve linen blouse is another recent favorite find. It’s simple, classic, and fabulous. And it’s 100% a wardrobe staple that I believe most of you will love having in your closet. I’m wearing a medium and it’s got a very blousy and relaxed fit. Y’all know I love a top with a sleeve that’s substantial (but not overwhelming), and this sleeve is sleeve perfection.

The blouse is super cute with denim too. And you can see it’s cute worn with a half-tuck (like you see above), but it’s also cute worn out (like you see below).

I’m telling you, this blouse will serve you well.

These patch pocket denim shorts are from Wit and Wisdom, our favorite denim brand, and they have the signature fit and stretch that we’ve all fallen in love with. And how cute are the oversized patch pockets! For size reference, I’m wearing a 4. If you want more of a relaxed fit, consider sizing up.

Okay, so full disclosure….

This textured flowy top doesn’t have great reviews, but I happen to really love it. First of all, the color is gorgeous. I also really love the fabric and texture of the top, and y’all know I often love a swingy and flowy fit. Well, this top is SWINGY and FLOWY all right. You can see it’s wide, but again, I don’t mind that! I did size down. For size reference, I’m wearing a small.

And ladies! The ecru jeans are still my favorite AND they are STILL ON SALE. Y’all know that these ecru jeans are in my Top 3 finds for the year, and they’ve been on y’alls Top 12 list several times as well. Fingers crossed they are still on sale! They are actually a great year-round jean because they look awesome with booties in the fall and winter, but they look just as great with wedges and sandals in the summer! I love the fit and the frayed hem. I’m wearing my regular size 4.

Everybody loves a great white tee, and this little puff sleeve number is a great white tee! Again, I love the sleeve length and the puffiness (that’s not too puffy), and the seam detail is fun. I wouldn’t really call it a relaxed fit (on me), but it’s definitely not clingy either! For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

I’ve been sharing a lot of dresses lately, but I haven’t been sharing many skirts at all, so I’m happy that I’ve got a really pretty maxi skirt for y’all today. It’s pull-on styling with elastic on the waistband in the back (which I love), it’s got pockets, and it’s both comfy and flattering. It also has this great rickrack detail down the tiers and on the hem. It also comes in solid block and in white with navy trim. For size reference, I’m wearing a small.

A RISING JUNIOR

I cannot believe that another school year has passed.

I forgot to post these pics last week, but these are the traditional FIRST DAY/LAST DAY pics of Carter’s sophomore year. (It was super sunny outside when I took the last day pics, hence the super squinty eyes and black and white pic because the colors were so blown out.)

SOME AMAZON FINDS

Now I’ve got some Amazon finds for you! Let’s start off with this totally adorable cover up. I can’t even count how many crochet cover-ups I own from Amazon, but go ahead and add 1 more to the list. This one comes in several color options and has high slits on each side. I love the stripes on the bottom. For size reference, I’m wearing a small.

Now I’ve got another really great basic. I mean, you can’t get much more basic than a black t-shirt, and this is a really great little tee. It’ super soft, and I much prefer a v-neck to a crew neck (since I have basically no neck). But I have to say, I also ordered 2 of the crew necks on the same link because I love what looks to be a super relaxed tee (and the crew neck is wide).

Okay, y’all. I love an embroidered Mexican shirt. This is a great find! It’s well made (not scratchy like many are), and the fit and embroidery are just my style. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

Here’s another blouse that’s dressed down here, but it’s very easily dressed up. There’s smocking up top, the sleeves go down to the elbow and there’s elastic and a little ruffle at the end. It’s fully lined, but be forewarned that the sleeves are a bit snug at the elastic band, so don’t order it if that type of thing bothers you (it doesn’t bother me). For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

This shirt is similar to the one above with the smocking, the lining, and the flowy fit… but it’s got a dot pattern instead of a floral pattern. And I love the tiny little ruffle at the neckline. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

So I’m not in love with the fabric of this top, but I am in love with the design and fit. It also comes in a black and a sea green. For size reference, I’m wearing a small.

The tassels are quite long when left alone, so you can see on the right how I’ve tied them up. I think I might actually end up cutting them off all together.

A dainty floral, pretty colors, a split neck, little pleats, and pretty little sleeves. This is a great top. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

The sleeves are a little bit different on this one (with the elastic and the tiny ruffle), and I love the red. Again, I’m wearing a small, but I need a medium.

Flowy, floral, feminine, and fun!!! This dress has a swingy fit and a deep v neck (but it’s not too deep). The sleeves go right past the elbow, and the hemline falls right at my knee. This is a really great little dress. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium, but I think I would prefer a small.

This one has a bit of a boho vibe, and I’m here for it. The cut and fit are super similar to the dress above. I’m wearing a medium.

This dress is lovely. It’s a faux wrap with a modesty snap, elastic at the waist, and a small flutter sleeve. This dress could be good for so many different types of occasions. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

Everybody needs a great little black dress in their closet. I have SEVERAL, and I just added this one for good measure. 😉 But if you don’t need a little black dress, it does come in other colors and patterns. It’s easy to wear and can be dressed up or down. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

This dress somehow manages to be both preppy and flirty. You slip it over your head, and even though it looks like it buttons, it doesn’t. The pleats, the ruffles, the pockets! I love it all! I’m wearing a small.

If you want something that’s just plain pretty, this dress is your dress! The hot pink and red color combo is my favorite, but I also love the red with the tiny purple flower option. The entire top of the dress is smocked, so it’s super comfy and very forgiving. I’m wearing a medium.
