RANCH TRIP

We went to the ranch with family and friends over New Years, and we had the best time! There was 24 of us, y’all! There was fishing, skeet shooting, trail riding, football game watching, and lots of relaxing. It was just what I needed. I barely took any pictures, but here’s a good one of some of the kids fishing. Don’t they look like they mean business?!?

My bestie Lisa is the first friend I made when we moved to McKinney 18 years ago! Our hubbies are great friends too, and we love when we get to spend time together at the ranch.

And time with this guy at the ranch is always a favorite. It’s our happy place.

Bennett (my nephew) sure does love him some Carter.

Valentine’s Day Shirts

Check out this DARLING LOVE sweater. I threw it in my cart when I was ordering everything for my Walmart Athletic Wear post earlier this week. I think the sweater is super cute! The colors are great, I love the crewneck, and it’s an incredible deal at just under $20. I’m guessing this one is going to go fast once others discover it. For size reference, I’m wearing a small.

This Love tee has a retro feel and I think it’s so fun. I received it last week (and it only took about a week to ship), but now it looks like shipping windows on most colors and sizes have changed. 🙁 I’m sad, because this is a great tee! For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

This tee is super cutesy, but I dig it. It comes in white too. It’s got some stretch in it, and I like the way it fits. It’s very soft. I’m wearing a medium.

WINTER SKIN CARE SALE

Whenever my skin is feeling dull or lackluster, I use this scrub to wake up my face and really brighten it right on up. After using it, my skin is SO SOFT and it truly does look healthier and more glowy. It refines texture, helps reduce clogged pores and brightens dull complexions by buffing away dead skin cells using the power of ultra-fine crystals. 

I don’t like to spend a lot of time or money on expensive spa treatments, but this scrub is like an at home alternative to professional microdermabrasian treatment. Do you see the rose quartz pieces below? When I rub the scrub on my face, it feels like very very fine sand. It gently (but efficiently!) exfoliates and reveals newer and fresher skin.

IT’S AN INCREDIBLE PRODUCT.

The Face Oil #9 used to be too much for my skin, but now I can’t imagine it not being a part of my nightly routine. Colleen touts it as the ultimate in skin luxury, and I have to agree. It improves radiance. RADIANCE! Who doesn’t want to increase their radiance?!? It’s $19 OFF right now!

And I’m not the only one that swears by it in my family. My mom and sister do as well. MY FAVORITE COLORS

It’s January 13th today, which means that we’ve got a month until Valentine’s Day.

We don’t make a huge deal of Valentine’s Day over here, but I will say that I do like dressing in red and pink all year long. They are two of my favorite colors, so really this time of year is just an excuse to wear my favorite colors more often! 🙂 I’ve gathered up lots of options for y’all in all shades of blush, pink, wine, and red in case you’re looking to feel festive.

Of course keep in mind that if you like the sweater you see, but you don’t love the color, all of these sweaters of course come in several colors!

Y’all know I can’t quit this swing sweater and it’s ON SALE now! I’m seriously not even embarrassed or ashamed that this is like my 74th swing sweater. Okay, I might be exaggerating a tad, but y’all know I have several. This is the pink-white-khaki, and I love the color-blocking on the front, back, and sleeves. One thing I want to mention…..you can see where my sweater is pretty straight across the hem in the front. It is definitely longer in the back like it is shown on the model, but the front doesn’t have the deep v cut that’s shown on the model. For size reference, I’m wearing a small.

I have no idea how I stumbled upon this pom pom sweater, but my goodness I am smitten. It is sooooo soft, it has a great amount of stretch in it, and it is beautifully made. I was a bit worried about pom pom placement, but it seems to be strategic, so there’s no unfortunate pom pom/nipple confusion happening. Haha! In addition to the adorable pattern, look at the sleeves! They are fitted at the cuff and so pretty. For size reference, I’m wearing a size 8.

I posted the sneak peek of it on Facebook last week, I had a friend (Shout Out, Ann!) comment that she thought it was going to be a $128 Anthro sweater! SHE’S RIGHT! It looks very Anthro and looks wayyyyyy more expensive than it is.

This sweater is very lightweight, and you have 15 colors to choose from including a very pretty blush! I’m in the brick red, but the black and the ivory would be great basics to have in your closet. This is one of those items that I think that many of you will end up grabbing in a couple of colors. It looks great on its own, but it will also be perfect for layering because of the weight. Are you feeling extra festive? This Be Mine baseball tee is absolutely ADORABLE! I love the hearts and the “Be Mine” messaging. I’m wearing a small here, but it’s quite fitted and I would prefer the fit of the medium. It’s very soft and just so much fun. The jeans have our favorite Ab-Solution technology and are soooo comfy and soooooooooo flattering. I’m wearing my regular size 4. Size down if between sizes.

Please ignore my pastiness and concentrate only on my pajama set. Again, lots of options on this 1 link, but this set stood out to me. I’m not really sure how to explain the fabric, but it’s thicker than a regular t-shirt material. I wish the fabric was lighter weight, but the design and fit sure are cute. For size reference, I’m wearing a small.

If you don’t want to go the graphic tee route, you can always just pair some festive jewelry with red, white, pink, grey, or cream. This lightweight cardigan will serve you well all year long, but this red is perfect for the month of love and is on SUPER SALE. It has tons of excellent reviews. I know you are going to find this hard to believe (or maybe you won’t) :)….but I ordered another one of these swingy sweaters.

Why?

BECAUSE I CAN’T STOP.  And this gorgeous red was calling to me.

I usually wear a small, but I ordered an x-small this time just to compare the fit.  I definitely need a small if I’m going to wear it with leggings, but the x-small is more than fine if just wearing with jeans. It’s still oversized with a great swingy fit.

This boucle turtleneck sweater is a very pretty dusty pink, one of my favorite colors. It’s thick and warm and oh so cozy. I love the ribbing on the neckline, cuffs, and large hem. It’s a really pretty sweater and it’s ON SALE!

For size reference, I’m wearing a medium and it’s definitely long enough for leggings. If you aren’t planning on pairing it with leggings, I would recommend sizing down.

Okay, this is an outfit I’ve worn countless times.

The heart sweatshirt is super soft, so warm, and so cozy. It’s lined with a light fleece and just so comfy to wear. I sized up two sizes to a large because I wanted to make sure it would be long and relaxed enough for leggings. The quality is great, and almost all ratings are 5 stars.

Now, let’s talk about the 7/8 leggings. Soooooooooo many of you recommended that I try this brand because they are supposed to be Lululemon Align legging dupes. Now, I’ve never tried the Align leggings, so I can’t compare them. I can however say I like these Amazon leggings. They are 80% nylon, 20% spandex, and buttery soft. Now, I can’t see wearing these to actually work out because I think the waistband would have trouble staying put. However, they are incredibly comfortable and I will definitely be wearing them around town.

Or maybe you want a little bit of whimsy! Check out this red pearl sweater!!! Isn’t it sweet? I think it’s adorable! I also love it in the blush, the grey, and the blue. It’s soft and not scratchy. For size reference, I’m wearing a small.

This pullover is a favorite of mine, and certain colors are ON SALE! The quality is excellent, and it’s very similar to a Free People sweater I’ve seen. It’s really soft and a fun and relaxed fit. I like the exaggerated tall and skinny cuffs, as well as the band at the bottom of the sweater with the tiny slits. These details keep it from looking sloppy. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium. A small would work on me with jeans, but I wanted to be able to wear it with leggings too (seen in the next picture)

See! I love it with leggings too! I wore this outfit all around town and to dinner last week. I was super comfy and felt cute all day.

This waffle knit pajama set is another great little set. It’s a soft waffle fabric and a relaxed fit. The drawstring on the shorts is functional, and it has pockets. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium.

This heart sweatshirt is adorable. And I like that it’s grey, because I feel like I can really wear it year-round. I sized up to a large so I could wear it with leggings and it’s perfect. There’s also an adorable hoodie HERE.

I actually got these tiny little heart earrings last year, AND I LOVE THEM.

I thought it might be fun share with y’all the last 5 items I’ve purchased. I’m preparing for a Nordstrom post in a couple of weeks, so I placed a huge order so I can figure out what I love and want to feature for y’all…

I grabbed these boots in sand suede and they are supposed to arrive on Monday! They are 50% OFF right now, and the reader response when I posted them on facebook was that tons of y’all already have them and love them! And I’m hopeful that this boatneck sweater in the ivory cloud and red stripe is even 1/2 as cute as I expect it to be. 😉

I also got these flare leg leggings from Zella, this side zip crewneck sweatshirt in the soft lilac color, and these Cloud 5 sneakers that are DARLING in Fiji/Rose (that go PERFECTLY with the sweatshirt).

So about that Nordstrom post I teased, I’m already outfit planning…
